You don't see the tools, they are for internal use by the ACM team. But they are very real. The ACM team as a whole is a big part of that. We weren't here when that roadmap was created, and now we're able to properly review reports. I have handing out bans to toxic people like candy on Halloween.

Please elaborate was it candy corn and lifesavers or was it the good stuff like Reeses, Snickers and Kit-Kats?

When killers hook one guy, the event thingy’s are sucked out of all four survivors inventories and corrupted. The survivors must then rush back to get them, and the hooked guy definitely won’t get his.

So all 4 get taken even from the survivors not hooked? So from a survivor perspective Gen rush like crazy and than get your vessel. If you spend time getting your vessel and concentrate on generators it will be all for nothing. The salt may fly during this event if these mechanics are true.

Reminds me of that bug when if you got hooked in the basement you kept lagging back to it even if you were clear across the map.

That was a Monstrous Shrine shadow buff.

Currently a second objective would break the balancing completely into the killer side and that's not the meaning of balancing. You cannot just add easily things and say yea balanced, no it's not.
They are reworking killer, balancing maps and fixing the endgame and this is a big deal. And maybe a second (must-) objective will never be a thing ^^

A second optional objective say to increase bloodpoints granted in the match would not slant it towards killers unless survivors choice to attempt it. Maybe a 25% in all categories if a particular event was done. Drain plants etc something like that. It needs to be completed before the final generator pops. Risk vs Reward

  • @Tsulan said:

Both sides should be able to gain the coins at roughly the same rate. Right now it sounds like survivor is easier.

I'm not a fan of the killer having to look for a vessel after hooking a survivor to break it for 3 points/coins whatever. Time is essential and as you stated the grind looks easier for survivors than killers. Obviously survivors won't get out every round with 1 but if 7 vessels are broke by a killer that is 21 points not including hooks. Unless the survivors are potatoes you are not getting such a long match. Event matches are usually much shorter than average matches in my experience playing both sides.

  • @Master said:
Can someone please record how long it takes for 3 survivor with green toolboxes+addons to do a single gen with prove thyself?
    Would appreciate that.

This is with 2 survivors: https://clips.twitch.tv/TriumphantEasyMilkJKanStyle
    They need 30 secs

    Wow that is some BS.

  • @OrionsFury4789 that could be the case a more heavy survivor ratio added in with new games. Many people i know are playing RD2 and i know friday RE2 is out and unless the event starts thursday or friday that will be the only thing i play until the event begins.

  • @Tsulan said:
Is it just me or does this seem terribly favored towards survivors?

maybe it is me but why does the killer have to destroy vessels. Killers are already limited by time. Just base their score on hooks and not event hooks.

I only know what Ive readon the forum since I dont play on PS4.

But apparently survivor queue times are awful while killer queues are instant.

This leads me to the conclusion that the killer gameplay has drawn away a lot of killers. And honestly, im not surprised, I wouldnt want to play killer with controller and bad fps either

@Master im really hoping it is a bug and not a player base issue. The game was free like 4 months ago.

Well, as long as killer have insta lobbies, then it doesnt seem to be a bugg.
You need both sides to play the game, so if killers can play, but survivors have long queue times, then its due to a lack of killers. If there was a matchmaking bug, then both sides would feel that, wouldnt they?

Yep, that is why i said maybe the base is dwindling. I struggled finding matches till about 9pm est, after that lobbies only took a few minutes to get into.

  • 28 mins to find a lobby with 2 swf. 16 mins solo.
  • Traps dont make sound when stepped in.
  • It would give the killer another hidden offering. I would be good with this.

I would pull out all my hair if I had to play killer with controller aim and low fps. Seriously, huge respect to console killer mains

I know. It's the game. It's not me. Some major problems need to get fixed or DBD can never get new players to play the game.

You and i have different opinions. I will leave it at that good luck in the fog.

It simply doesn’t belong, as it’s:

    Not a measurement of skill
    Does not provide rewards
    Increased queue times
    Reduces connection quality

The current ranking system of Dead by Daylight is a hinderance to the overall quality of Dead by Daylight.

The system is more an assessment of time played than skillful play. The system increases queue times significantly, and in some cases indefinitely. And in its attempt to find a “balanced” match, it diminishes the connection quality in the process.

One could argue that Dead by Daylight would lose a sense of progression to it. However given that Rank 1 can be achieved within a few days, and that it resets on a very short monthly basis. There seems to be little reason to keep this system that’s actively deteriorating the game altogether.

Others would argue that it simply requires a rework. That it shouldn’t be removed just because it’s currently a poor system.

And if Dead by Daylight was aiming to be a competitive game, I’d be inclined to agree. But time and time again the community and Behavior have made it clear they want a more casual direction for the game. There’s nothing wrong with that, though if that is the intention then the ranking system serves as nothing else but shackles.

I'm with you 100%. No rewards, No reason for scumbags to derank, No Lobby wait times. Keep new players in the kiddie pool till they have played x amount of hours and than let them swim with the sharks.

  • Invisible Pallets and Generators have been a thing since the chapter release.

  • I'm good with this.

Explanation: This prevents a "Hatch Standoff" if they just open it while the killer is standing nearby. They will need to make sure that they are safe when they open the hatch. (This part is where i'm confused)

If you approach the hatch and unlock it with the key can the killer still grab you? What is to stop the killer from still camping the hatch?

  • @Jack11803 said:

I meant the community, not in game, and that should’ve been obvious, as you were talking about the community. Stop being unable to read. Also, I can assure you we’ll never meet in game, ever.

I see you are making friends @Jack11803 I didn't get to see the video but from what i read someone used an exploit and the OP is salty about it and raging at all other survivors. Just another day on forums.

  • @Entità I thought you were going to say uninstall since this probably isn't the game for you.

  • @Vietfox said:
And what about when you finally find a lobby and then killer lobbydodges? :)

^^^^^^ That right there. It isn't just the waiting as solo or swf. It is getting in the match after 10-15 mins and getting dodged. If the the event doesn't improve the lobby situation it is either a bug or the playerbase on Ps4 is dwindling. We need the proposed matchmaking patch added asap if only to avoid the lobby dodge.

  • @Jack11803 said:
They dedicated two vital perk slots to carrying your ass, and you’re saying it should be nerfed?!

poor Trappy just wants to hook that Claudette in his basement.

  • I hope it is better during the event. I hope it is a match making and not a player base issue. I don't mind playing killer the whole event but i feel Killer lobbies will also be an issue as more people usually play killer during events than usual.

as @Jack11803 said go after the rescuer not the hooked previously hooked person especially if you are close enough for borrowed time to activate.

Long time no see! How are you?

I'm good how have you been. I've spent less time on the forums. I wanted to see feedback from the patch going live. The patch seems good. BTW I know you are also on PS4. Have you noticed how poor match making is for solo and if in a party. As killer i Que up immediately. Survivor is a different story even after rank reset.

  • I get you wanting to see the loadout but people would tell the other players. You should have a pretty good grasp on what the loadout is even before you die. Tinkerer, BBQ, Monitor and Abuse, Did you break flaming totems, Nurses(did the killer come directly to you when healing in their terror radius) etc...

  • as @Jack11803 said go after the rescuer not the hooked previously hooked person especially if you are close enough for borrowed time to activate.

  • @Hugodzilla swf according to dev's was always intended. It builds the player base. If you can't handle swf maybe this game isn't for you. SWF unless they are a swat squad are easier to play against they do everything in their power not to let a friend die just don't hard camp. Stay in the general area someone is coming.

  • @ZombieSinAngel9 said:
I feel like it should be made so these two can not be used together. It makes it near impossible for a survivor, unless the killer does not think and takes you all the way across the map.

The killer can play whatever perk combo they like just like you can as survivor. If they waste a perk slot just to get a survivor to the basement the other players in the trial need to take advantage of that.

  • @JoLo are you actually serious? This feels like a troll post. Why would you keep the item if you died in the trial unless burning whiteward? You died?!?! You got eliminated 5 mins in the trial so the game is bad. You got outplayed by "toxic" survivors?!?! I don't think it is the game, it is you. It takes skill and experience to play killer and survivor. You are not playing against bots.

  • @Kind_Lemon said:
    Dear devs,

Since you nerfed sabotage into oblivion and made numerous addons and items worthless, it would be nice if you removed the restriction on sabotaging basement hooks so that Breakdown can work on them.

    Sincerely,
    A fan of your game

Sabo and toolboxes got a nice buff so stop with it being nerfed. Don't get hooked in the basement. The basement is also suppose to be the closest source to the entity. Monstrous Shrine should be built into the basement and not a perk. The basement should be the most dangerous place for a survivor on the map.

  • I personally enjoy the finger point gesture. i don't teabag killers i point when i'm trying to get them off their games. I teabag teammates after an unhook or a heal.

  • @Peanits said:
Anything you've read about it outside of the official news post (which is just a vague overview) is not confirmed info. Even if someone claims to have datamined information about it, any numbers you see are subject to change. Until it's officially revealed, I wouldn't recommend speculating on it.

    Tell them Ron Burgundy

  • We need @Orion to figure this out. He usually has the proper math.

  • this is coordinated group he played. Not every swf is like this. These "swat squads" are few and far in-between. You can't balance this game based on a small percentage of the player base.

Wait you play 10 min rounds with Trapper at rank 1 without ruin? I find that hard to believe. Are the ssurvivors afk or just cherry picked potatoes?

Actually I've faced good trapper, Pigs, Doctors, Freddy, Myers etc at rank 1 who make the games either last really long or they end them quickly.

All of those with the exception of trapper can extend games based on their power.

sorry, but im not interested in a round with 2 or more toolboxes (i dont run ruin), 2 or more medkits (ive gotten instahealed so many times now, i actually dodge these. its annoying. you down someone and he's instantly back at full health .-.) or 2 or more flashlights (maybe ill play the round, maybe not).

also, i might just not be in the mood to play against certain people. i know some names by now and sometimes (especially if its my first round of the day) i do not want to play against these, as they would completely demolish me.

or sthg irl happened and i had to close the lobby.

and here are a ton of reasons, besides the common "SWF group" reason. i usually dont dodge these btw.

You are making a big deal out of that. 2 toolboxes, seriously?

If i was that picky i would had uninstalled DbD long ago.

again: i dont run ruin, as i generally dislike the whole hex concept.

and im interested in rounds a little longer than 10 minutes.

i dont dodge on killers that run ruin though (e.g. my billy)

What rank are you playing averaging 10 min rounds?

Just play the lobby if the ping is good.

    rank 1
without ruin and with 2+ toolboxes, the rounds end ridiculously fast.
if im not playing billy, i dont even stand a chance.
and even for billy its very hard.

so i just dodge and play a nice little trapper round with the other survivors instead ^^

  • I played a few rounds of survivor last night(PS4) with very little trouble finding a lobby. 2 nights ago it was a different story. Lobby times for me had to be over 15 mins so i left and did something else.

  • @BACKSTABBER in a game where time is vital and killers can already be stunned by pallets, DS, Flashlights, and fireworks don't you think that is enough. Come on shotguns and flamethrowers. If you want them to use similar map ideas like the 2 story school from last year. I'm for more two floor maps.

So why do people abuse killers for camping if the loop abused?

If someone is hitting me with a strong loop i go for someone else to not waste time. I also wouldn't camp unless it is the last survivor near an exit. You can play however you see fit. If they wasted your time you can punish them however you like. Try to recognize when you are dealing with strong loops break off the chase for someone else.

  • Play how you want.
