  • I suggest you put that in the bug reports because that doesn't seems intended.

  • I would expect these killers to have an high MMR when they are trying to get away from the frustration.

  • Can we get this looked at? That killer cannot be played normally at the moment.

  • As a rule of thumb, never respect the pallet : you are only prolonging chase duration.

There's no logical way to say that it's totally fine that survivors can stack second chance perks to get 3/4/5 extra health states throughout the ENTIRE game, but then complain when 1 health state gets removed during egc. NOED secures 1 kill at most unless the survivors completely throw. It's like people forget what NOED actually does. It removes 1 health state. If losing a health states bothers you so much, then you should also be advocating to remove all second chance perks not just NOED.

Here's how I would fix NOED: each time a survivor uses a second chance perk, NOED gains a token (no longer a hex). If you want to benefit from having extra health states during the game, you now run the risk of losing a health state after the last gen pops/egc. Fair right?

    Genius 😆

I'm convinced it was a stealth nerf. It's annoying whenever I bring up the bug people just poopoo it and say, "oh it's not bugged LOL they are just looking at the trap bruh".

Well, it makes sense that if a survivor is looking at the trap, his camera will not swing at it. However there is video showing it's not the case.

The linked videos are from the best Hag main out there. He has started to use addons to play her differently until they fix the issue.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

What are her bugs? I feel you’re referencing something likely buried in Bug Reporting.

    Here are the two reports:

    @HagathaSimmons said:

    platform: PC

Description: There's a bug on Hag where when a survivor triggers a trap their camera is not being redirected or pulled towards the phantasm.

Steps: Place trap as Hag, use survivor the trigger trap while they're running.

How often: Frequently if not all games.

    @Kaelum said:

    Issue #1 - Traps don't affect the survivor's camera

Step 1: Play Hag and lay down some traps that manifest a visible phantasm to the survivor.

Step 2: As a survivor, run adjacent to a trap to trigger it.

The survivors camera will not be forced to face toward the phantasm. It is currently sort of working like the Hag is running Rusty Shackles, which does not affect the survivor's camera, but the phantasms are visible.

Issue #2 - trap range addons have no effect

Step 1: Play as Hag and equip a trap range addon.

Step 2: Enter a match and place a trap.

Step 3: Look at the boundaries of the trap trigger aura.

No matter what trap range addons the Hag uses, the trigger boundary never changes. The visible trap aura boundary matches the physical trigger range of the traps.

There’s just the reality that you’re not always going to have opportunity to take part in every aspect of the survivor role in every trial though. Only so many unhooks and heals can happen, only one survivor can be chased at a time, only five gens and totems, etc.

Whereas killer typically gets all four of their scoring categories just for playing normally. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it seems to me there maybe should be some aspect of team point sharing if one is heavily contributing. Or, they could allow scoring categories to go over the 8k maximum at a diminishing rate, while still not exceeding 32k total (to prevent farming).

I agree some actions should be rewarded more (e.g. the guy who has kited the killer all game, as it requires a lot of skill)

They have said they were working on that.

As for the opportunity, one can make it. I usually go seek the killer if I've already done one gen and a teammate or two have already been hooked. I try to get a protection hit, do an unhook, get in a chase (as long as I can which isn't much unless I'm versing a Nurse or a Spirit) and I usually end up in the 20-30k bps range. It was much easier when I was playing with friends but they have left long before I did.

It doesn't always work of course, but that's the game.

As killer, I get a really low score if I wipe a team too fast. (I'm pretty sure I don't even break the 13k bps mark if I kill them all before they do a single gen.) One reason is that I'm getting 4 hooks at best, instead of 12.

  • The game gives point for gens, saves, chases and for not getting hurt.

Emblems are a new Ranking Mechanic that was implemented with Patch 1.9.4 into Dead by Daylight . The Emblem System is a replacement for the Victory Cube for Killers and the old Bloodpoint-related Rank Mechanic for Survivors. A Player's Rank is now decided by their performance in a Trial and independent of the Bloodpoints they gained. Emblems replace the old Bloodpoint Category circles in the Ranking section of the Tally Screen. Successfully obtained Emblems come in four Qualities: Bronze, Silver

Note that the same mechanic applies to the killer. If a killer kills all the four survivors in a couple of minutes, he'll get about 15k bps, if that.

In both cases it's to reward a good game. A survivor only playing QTEs while his team is fighting the killer will only get points for one emblem. (And the 3 other survivors may "only" get points for the 3 other emblems.

It's one of the reasons many players seem to think a survivor gets less points than the killer.

If you want to get close to 32k bps, you need to be in a couple of chases, do one or two save unhooks and, if possible, escape all your chases.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

Nah, but I do wish there was more deactivation requirements, such as if another survivor gets hooked while DS is active it deactivates and maybe just deactivate it when the exit gates are opened. After that I'd argue the perk should be buffed to activate on both hooks.

I don't agree with the first one (even if I've been bitten by this many times) as when you reach there are some pretty unjust limit cases (e.g. exposure, no BT, ...)

Disabling the perk during the EGC or when the last gen is done is something to consider. I'm not sure it would be fair though.

  • No.

It feels like a valid way to force the killer to stop tunneling or eat the DS without allowing him a fast slug.

  • I despise the corn and I don't light lighter maps. The new Coldwind isn't getting any love from me.

The last game I've been in before deciding to leave for a while was a Coldwind.

  • I'm assuming you have several thousands of hours in the game.

The MMR is supposed to be better for the average player. Both extremes may have a worse experience.

I'm planning to go back to the game after the next patch but now I feel I'd be better off progressing on my accumulated games queue.

  • Nerfing CoH into the ground isn't the solution. If they make the boons breakable (either the bones or snuffing the power only once for a game) they can keep the boons powerful.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

I know, right? As a console player, it almost always lags. Pretty annoying. I have to try and hype myself up before the pick up so I am ready for the stutter too. Lol.

I've never noticed on mines but don't run that perk on console.

I think they want to keep it as simple as possible with those things. Because the problem here is that a thing which is not bannable (bodyblocking) can cause something which is bannable (holding the game hostage). And if you somehow manage that bodyblocking is bannable under certain circumstances, you will have players complaining that others did a bannable offense. You even see it right now that Killers complain about Survivors bodyblocking when they are carrying a Survivor and Survivors complaining about bodyblocking if a Wraith blocks a Window for them to vault or a Billy or Plague block them into a corner to use their ability.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2917761#Comment_2917761

No, because you can be rescued from a Hook. Also, even if you cannot be rescued, the maximum time you spend on the Hook are two minutes. Plus, it is regular gameplay, because the Killer needs to hook Survivors to do their Objective.

Maybe but they should put a side note about that. (e.g. blocking a player as killer when it's not the EGC ... something.)

There has been so many discussions about what "taking the game hostage" means (Which summarize into "no possible way of moving forward for the other team") that this doesn't seem to fall in that category.

On another hand, this must be a very rare case (seen it four times in 3 years) they may not think it's worth adding confusion in the rules.

  • Ignore that kind of offerings.

Given the difference of strengths and that it was SWF built to "bully" a killer, I believe not letting them have fun at your expense was the right move.

In the future, you want want to be mindful of TTVs in lobbies. Most often than not these guys are ruining games, one way or another.

That’s exactly what I do, I find trickster much easier to face than huntress and deathslingers…. By a large mile. Map awareness and position are key .

Yes, efficient Huntress and Trickster require to know every hole of a map. They are a bit like Blight and Nurse in that regard, although the details required are not the same.

It's cute that you think anything involving behavior Interactive is just as easy as automating a process and letting it run. How's that chat filter working out?

Is that the extent of your argumentation?

  • Or money ...

These resources aren't available to everyone.

I mean ... systematic DCers must be children, right?

  • The last few times I had to go against an annoying "boil over" (including "bully" SWFs) they ended up bleeding out (and rage-quitting).

Oh wow. Maybe that's why it feels like I'm getting hit before I even see her come out of blink. You're right about DH being worse against her then because there's been so many times I feel like I've pressed DH when I should but it doesn't work and I get downed. Thought it was mostly because of the killers latency.

Survivors see the killer "land" before the player does so I don't think lag should affect it (but it may be part of the many validation issues)

A Nurse hitting before getting out of blink has to be pretty sure it will be at hitting range of the survivor else he eats .5s of additional fatigue. I don't find this practical at high MMR as survivors are usually very unpredictable.

  • Usually because they don't know how to verse the killer and don't want to learn.

Granted, the best way is usually to play the killer and see how good survivor play against you but to do so you need to buy the killer.

At the very least, it's certainly more friendly than systematically and mercilessly tunneling survivors in any boon game.

Can we stop defending doing stuff like this for once? Seriously, I really hope that people who go like "iT Is nOt hOlDiNg tHe gAmE HoStAgE If tHe oThEr sUrViVoRs cAn dO GeNs" dont really think that it is a cool thing to block one player in a corner for a longer amount of time.

But every time this comes up, people say it is not holding the game hostage if other Survivors are still alive. Every. Single. Time.

Thank you. They really need to put that in the official definition because the way it is now, they specifically say that body-blocking isn't an offense. (And I think I've seen the opposite said a long time ago, so at least it would be publicly official. ) Maybe it should be put in the suggestions.

Being a dick isn't bannable. It it was there are a lot of survivor teams (and killers) who would have be banned a long time ago.

You'll have to link to what you are reading because I don't see it on : https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402529064212-What-offenses-are-bannable- .

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2917525#Comment_2917525

Even if the game can end, holding a player hostage for some time to not let them participate in the game is a bannable offense.

Sure, if you block a Survivor in a Corner with 5 Gens up, the game can end. However, the Killer is still holding one player hostage at this point, so it is a bannable offense.

Again, not on the list. It's like doing a four slugs and letting everyone bleed out. "Not participating the the normal game" but still will end.

Taking the game hostage is when the game litterally cannot end by some action.

Even survivors hiding for 15 minutes doesn't count if they end up doing something else (e.g. finally doing gens)

  • There isn't a lot of API differences between UE4 and UE5 so that's doable.

As far as performance hoes, UE5 is much more performant than UE4. Nanite is insanely good and requires very little effort to use.

  • If you are sure it should not happen, report the situation in the end game chat (using the thumbs icon) then fill an additional report linking the video (e.g. uploaded on Youtube) and let the devs sort it out.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2917517#Comment_2917517

It’s still bannable even if you are not the last survivor, as you can’t control what your (possibly random) teammates are doing.

though in EGC you are right, there it’s ‚okay‘

There is a possibility to finish the game so it's the teammates who are keeping the game hostage if they don't act.

  • Statistically, yes. Maybe do it while the killer is in a chase with someone who is already hurt to minimize the risks.

  • @ElizaSteph said:

Is there any way to get around being trapped by a killer?? I don’t want a dc penalty or to lose points/pips, but it’s the end game and everyone is dead, and so the timer won’t start. He’s sandbagging me and I can’t go anywhere. I have like four crows. So annoying

If you are the last player in game and the EGC hasn't stared, it's bannable. (Taking the game hostage : do as Pulsar has said)

Otherwise your teammates need to finish the gens and leave (or It'll be over in a couple of minutes). (For future reference)

And you're saying DH is not a gamechanger when it lets you loop the kilelr for another 30 seconds & 3 gens pop?

Or D.Strike when you're near an open exit gate?

Changing the definition does not change the facts. And nothing in the game states Killers cannot have a second chance perk. Nor do Survivors get to decide what's fair for Killers to have.

If people don't understand this after 5 years, its kinda embarrassing for you guys.

Changing the definition is what you do when you don't have facts.

  • @Edilibs said:

Its very finiky and not as responsive as it should be. This is kind of a big deal for us killers that are racing and sweating to just do anything in general lol

Please make rekindling and snuffing out boons more responsive! This should seriously be looked at because although its not a major problem its still a problem.

You mean like every time you try to snuff a boon, it looks like you need to find the right angle and try multiple times?

(I don't recall for rekindling as I've used that stuff only a couple of times.)

  • First it would still be a fifth perk for every other survivor.

I believe that as long as boons cannot be broken, they'll always end up being too strong or nerfed to nothingness.

  • They are hiding the grades because they are irrelevant and there are way too many individuals who cannot grasp that concept.

It saves a lot of painfully repeated explanations.

As for the tuning made in the MMR, it should improve games for the average player (or the experienced player playing a killer he is average as).

As they've stated, extremes may still have inadequate matching.

Also, worse matching is expected when queues are getting long. So if you want to be matched with people close to your strength and your queue lasts, says, 2 minutes. Just give up or switch role or killer.

  • @Chusan said:

And those survivors says that they need it. It is up to the point where every killer predicting that every survivor have deadhard before attacking

I think you're wrong with saying, that nurse takes the most mechanical skill in DBD of any killer. IMO it's blight. I play both Killers and as a blight player you need to learn EVERY object, tile and killer shack all over again (even in different versions of the same map), because some of them are slippery (which is good for Scoot Surfs etc) and some are not.

With Nurse, you just have to learn how your blinks work and how to time them correctly. After that, it's only a matter of time until you can read each type of Survivor. At this point Nurse Gameplay becomes a simple mindgame.

This does NOT mean Nurse is easy to play. OFC Nurse is hard to master but Blight is way, wayyyy harder to master than Nurse.

I'm getting 3500-6000k hours Survivor Teams with Nurse and slightly less experienced Survivors with blight. Just for reference.

I see what you mean by mechanical skill but that's not exactly a mechanical issue there. It's learning the quirks of the area and that's also needed for Nurse, Huntress and Trickster.

So yes, learning to play Nurse well takes more than just what you've said. (The best proof is that there are so few good Nurses and that her kill rate is so low.)

The hours of survivor players doesn't seem to matter much after a small threshold. The maximum I've versed as Nurse is in the 10k hours range (and that ass was cheating : no skill there). I've also versed a Trapper main streamer with 6.9k hours (not Otz) and killed the team easily. (Good killer, bad survivor). Above 3k hours players are relatively rare too nowadays (I get maybe two teams a night).

Strangely, it's around the 1.5k to 3.5k hours that I find the most worthy opponents, and sometimes in the low hundreds (because they can truly be unpredictable, they don't even know what they'll do next xD).

I play both Nurse and Blight and I found Blight easier. (However, Blight tends to make me sick after a few games ... still, not mechanically.)

In my opinion learning the broken rebounds, that you can very well see and recognize, is way easier than remembering what crap is beyond what obstacle/wall/floor/... and blink accurately next to it.

You really think the Resident Evil chapter created that much of a high, that losing thousands of players every month over the course of the next year is simply returning the playerbase to normal numbers?

The last time the numbers were that low was around February 2020. It's not just RE fans leaving.

However, we know they've massively banned some cheaters and it may account for some of this.

Basement Bubba requires too many perks to be effective in the same way. This build freezes gens furthest away from you and gives you the initial target with Lethal Pursuer. Deadlock gives you time to remove them from the game while camping and still having time to get the rest. BBQ&C gives you that sweet BP at the end making the experience even more satisfying.

I'll change my build when the meta changes. If it doesn't then this is my meta.

I see BB more as a fun, relaxing, mode. The harsh camping Bubba is horribly efficient (I barely go below 2K when I do it). I don't use Lethal pursuer in it though. I trust I'll find a survivor fast enough and most often than not, I do.

The Most Efficient Technique Available for Bubba will not change unless they change some rules.

Yes, I love being a walking bloodpoint pinata for the Nurses and Blights that should be versing Cope tier survivors every single game, I'm so freaking relieved they get varied matches.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Yeah, I love SWF every match. Not. I started my own brand of entertainment. I don't care about ranking up or 4ks. I equip Corrupt Intervention, Lethal Pursuer, Deadlock, and BBQ&C on Leatherface. Each person I down and hook gets face camped out of the game. I walk away with plenty of BP, the victims do not. Win/win.

It seems to be what DBD has devolved to as I went for a 20 pallet stroll through the Game where each loop and Dead Hard was perfectly timed to go to the next vault or pallet.

It's all good though. I found the efficient solution.

    Being efficient is good :)

Basement Bubba is fun too, for a while. Hilarious sometimes, when survivors are not immediately leaving. That moment where a greedy survivor passes right in front of you and visibly panics when he hears the chainsaw. Or the survivors peeking inside and running away as soon as you rev the engine. I'm smiling just thinking about it xD.

I'm afraid my best killers will suffer the same way (e.g. Nurse). However the majority should benefit from these changes.

I'm curious to see what'll happen if I play Trapper, Clown, Sadako, ... (that I suck at)

  • "nurse is hard to counter even if you double back or look back."

These are basic counters one learns first against a Nurse. If that's all you've learned, then the problem is that you are not as good as you think you may be.

Check good streamers to see how to do it.

Better: play Nurse, learn her and see how good survivors are cleaning the floor with you then try to do the same.
