No, it's not. It's about as ridiculous as complains about camping and/or tunneling.
-
Obviously.

A company's first objective is to make money : employees to pay, mouths to feed.
What would be their incentive adding new content? Besides, these DLCs are pretty cheap. You don't need to buy all of them at once.
Don't think it's already pretty generous of them to give an option to pay with in-game money for unlicensed content? There is a word for that.

Could be if killers would play more fairly probably survivors would not rush the gens as much. But when you completely have the game under control I don't think facecamping is really needed.
Chicken-egg problem, but not really.
Survivors have to do gens (and interact with the killer, do saves, ... if they want more points) and killers have to kill.
In the vast majority of games, survivors are slamming the gens, usually two or three in parallel (because nobody has the ubiquity perk). Players handle that differently.
I usually switch to a hard tunnel (which makes the match even more fun when the survivors finally decide to do something about it). Some will camp, and I could too with some killers (no, not only Bubba). Some will proxy-camp and punish the speed by ensuring another hook state. All these counters are perfectly valid.
Doing it when no generator has popped yet seems a bit sad. Maybe these players have so often been in that situation they don't wait for the pops anymore. Still, it's a perfectly valid move.

Just want to reiterate that I've previously submitted a ticket on this exact issue.
It is not an issue/exploit in the eyes of the developer.
I did not like the answer, personally, but it is a direct answer from the source so I adjusted my mentality in turn.
I think there are at least a couple of recent feedback threads about preventing item change in the lobby for survivors.

It (which is how I refer to it) is a fusion of an unknown quantity of both men and women, not one destinctive entity / person, meaning its gender / sex is quite literally impossible to determine.
Also it is referred to as "it" by the DbD achievements - with, fun fact, the only other Killer being referred to in this manner being the Shape, everyone else is labled as "he" or "she".
I know why I thought it was a "she". If I understand the wiki the name is "Druanee".
-
Are you assuming his (non)gender? xD
And by the way, I think it's a she.
-
I've kind of enjoyed my recent games. I'm playing my weak killers (Trapper, Deathslinger) and I regularly get (failed) bullies.
They want to bully, I want to try things and to troll. I get wins Strategema-style. ;)
-
Let's see first how they plan to change the perks.
These last few days I've been positively surprised by the announces and changes the devs have done.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the future.
I don't despise DH as much as some (and Nurse is my main killer) however the peek is busted against most killers.
Yes Nurse is horribly punished by a miss. But M1 killers end up having to waste more time on another loop. That's way too strong for a simple key to press.

Some mobility killers have 110 as well. Along with Hag there's Spirit and Nurse.
Nurse is 95 or something like that. Less than 100.

Sounds like a good change then.
I'm eager to test that on live.

Oh, this explains the surge of No Mither I've seen in my games.

I'd suggest you contribute to a feedback discussion about getting rid of that "feature".

Unless I've misunderstood something you'll have to if you want new perks for your characters once the change roles out.
Which is way better than wasting your time trying to look for them in each character.
In a recent thread, someone was complaining about still looking for BBQ3.

It seems to be below average. There are way stronger builds. Some of them I'd be ashamed to use again given how mercilessly depressing they are. The kind that make survivors run to you and beg for death.

I don't know anything about 'robbing' him of hits but if I remember correctly, back then it was fairly easy to escape the dream world as you could just fail a skill check to escape (which you can still do but it's not as good now). He'd then have to put you to sleep again which could rob him of a lot of time if done repeatedly by all survivors over the course of a match.
I think it's something like that. I have this vague memory of some kind of haze and the killer being powerless by something we could do as survivors.

Its just, that the streamers reactions: *throwing things around, screaming and falling from the chair* looked just over exagerated to me.
Thats why i wondered. But if @Lima24927 spelled his coffee, then well. I might be less sensitive to such things.
But good to know.
Spilling one's drink is one thing. But screaming? Falling from the chair? Throwing things? I'm having an hard time believing it's not plain bad acting.

I do not care about how strong killer is. If I did, I would be playing survivor NOW.
I would be concerned about the health of the game if they balanced around a 75% killrate.
It kind of depends on how a win is defined (e.g. counting hooks instead of kills for killer)
-
Played several hours as survivor today, one single NOED. (From a very very weak, camping, insidious/no way out Trickster.)
(Still got two kills : one because the team didn't realize what he was doing after the first occurrence, one because of NOED gave him an additional down)
NOED is fine.
PS: I fully expected NOED, I just didn't care.
-
I didn't enjoy the original Freddy very much. I vaguely remember him though. I think there was something simple a survivor could do to rob him of hits or grabs or something. (If someone knows what I'm talking about, please refresh my memory.)
Freddy v2 was much stronger, kind of competitive, but I didn't like to play him too much nor go against him. (Dream pallets were funny but pretty weak.)
I've not played Freddy v3 and I can count on one hand the number of times I've versed him.

There are a lot of things missing but to program them all like the current tutorial is a big effort that i currently would like to see put into other places. I would rather suggest them to have a link to a media place like youtube for which they could record videos and explain actual gameplay mechanics and how to counter specific killers for example. Seems like way less effort to maintain and keep updated.
It's more about giving enough tools to beginners and comfort. On console for an example, I feel like linking somewhere would be clunky.
I think they've already stated they would enhance the tutorial anyway.

I've only played killer yesterday (Slinger, Trapper, Clown, Demogorgon, Wraith, Huntress, Nurse). Got mostly gen-rushes/gen-before-friends which led me to mostly go for a tunnel/full slug. The odd weaker teams that were thrown in my path got a DC or two.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
Only had one cheating team though.

But what if you flip a coin enough times and one day it lands on its edge?
Or it drops into a hole, never to be found again.
-
I don't really care about escaping, as long as I'm having fun. (Same for killer btw. It's why some of my most memorable matches have been with Trapper whereas my main killer is Nurse.)
As survivor, the only escapes I was really happy about have been the ones that felt epic because of how impossible they felt right before a planetary alignment event. Otherwise, escaping gives a pretty bland feeling.
Somehow, I feel like 75% is closer to what an horror game should be. How many times is there more than one, if any, survivor in an horror movie? More emphasis should be put on interacting with the killer (including hiding). Self-sacrifice should be rewarded. I know it's a toughie but it feels right.
-
At the very least, report any self-harm, illness or death related comments. (You may brush them without a second though but it could genuinely be very hurtful to some people.)
-
The thing is, these teams tend to be reckless (should I say stupid?).
The are so bent on using their toy they are almost throwing.
-
The only way this would make sense is if ...
_ No Bloodwarden
_ All survivors are in the exit gates or have left already
_ Nobody is exposed
_ The killer more than 32m away (Or 50, something big enough)
Then maybe something could be done.
I'm not sure it's worth the hassle though.
-
I only got one cheating team (lag-switchers) tonight.
Hitting them wasn't working as they usually popped 16 or so meters back.
Flashlights gave instant-blinds.
Thankfully they weren't very good so I've still managed to kill half of them. As cheat'ers go, they weren't the most obnoxious ones.
I got a few DCs though.
Let's keep the penalties.

That’s fair on the survivor end. Granted I play survivor to max points which does slow down the game a bit but if ppl are just rushing gens they’re not gonna max bp either which is also dumb.
As Nurse, I just went against a group that had popped 2 streamers and one gateau.
I've tried to play "cool" at first but all they did was slam the gens and let the hooks hang. Naturally I've changed from playful to bastard and in the end the highest score was ~20k (surprisingly, the one who didn't do a single unhook), the rest were 12k 10k and 9k : what a waste.
-
Absolutely not.
First, yes, it would kill the game.
But that's would still not the way to do it. The game has to be balanced in a way it's not a problem for friends to play, without forgetting the solo player either. (Nobody said it was easy.)
Besides, when they are rushing SWFs are lame (and it's not limited to them: it can also happen with solos). But they tend to play altruistic which can lead to very fun games.

Hug tech is not an issue, neither is noed. I agree with the rest, though. A lot of killer mains, including myself, can be entitled.
Speaking of issues. I often read various complains about various things, usually driven by ignorance or laziness.
However, I never see anyone complain about Iridescent Hatchet which feels like the most busted add-on in the game. It has always puzzled me.
-
This is not toxic, this is Justice.
I've met survivors like that one, both as survivor and as killer. When I'm the killer, sometimes another survivor spontaneously helps me to punish the guy for basically trying to kill his teammates. It happened again earlier this week.

Complain? Where? I'm not, at all. The "no sense" part? It was just to point out the exact same thing.
Again, doesn't matter to me. Use any label you want: face camping, camping, proxy camping, tunneling, slugging, tea-bagging, ... why not?
Moving on ...

Source?
Because, as I don't think we have a Dead by Daylight dictionary, definitions are common usage - and common usage here is standing by the hook to attempt to grab/instadown people coming for a rescue.
With your amount of posts I assume you knew it. It's kind of common knowledge.
@Marcavecunc said:

This. Camping refers to staying around the hook to prevent escape attempts, not literally standing in front of it and survivors not being able to unhook. Just because you're not literally standing 2 inches in their face doesn't make it not camping if you're not leaving the immediate area. (but it's fair game if the killer saw someone while carrying the survivor to the hook and knows they're around waiting for them to leave)
You realise it doesn't make sense of there is no difference in the end result?
It was just a bit of trivia. People can call that tunneling for all I care.

I'm fine with macmillan, autohaven, crotus penn, yamaoka estate temple of purgation, ormond...the game if i'm playing blight otherwise no, lery's if i'm playing stealth otherwise no...
survivor i'm good with anything that isn't rpd
You may be fine with them, but some of that lot are a pain to handle with many killers.
The Game is bad for most killers. I don't know for Blight (I'm not good enough with it) but for Nurse it tends to be a win. (Not as much as Midwich though). Lery is good for stealth indeed. It's one of my weakest maps. Too many ways to hide and break line of sight. I'm not too fond of stealth killers though so there is that.
RPD should be good against most killers too, but its layout isn't very easy.

Pain Resonance, Agitation, Floods of Rage and Starstruck. Keep the survivors uncomfortable and ride their ass the entire damn match. Don't defend gens, don't patrol - just run down survivors. This is the build I use to maximize my practice without running gen regression nonsense or constantly getting hammered by Dead Hard and other second chance perks.
I've played a similar build but with Agitation replaced by another ... dead man switch? I don't recall it was a while ago. I'll check tomorrow.

This is the build I ran yesterday that allowed me to get a pretty long 3-4k streak, a lot of the time I had 5 or 6 hooks before the last gen popped, but I can 3 or 4 man slug them with Noed and keep knocking em down when they pop unbreakable, this build is extremely nasty though so if you don't want to feel like a scumbag, then I don't recommend this one.
Two detections, one stealth that benefits from the range addon. That's a good base IMHO. Instead of NOED, I'm partial to something like Starstruck.
My go-to build is Whispers, Infectious, BBQ and Starstuck (no add-ons). There are stronger builds (e.g. Scourge-based + range) but I'm having more fun with that one.
-
To be fair, how many good maps are there?
The Macmillans are relatively OK.
There aren't too many complains against most Autoheaven.
I kind of like new Haddonfield.
Is there another one?
Among the bad ones there is Corn, Ormond, RPD and the big maps in general ...
The Game is pretty much awful for most killers, same for Lery's.

I have 1.5k hours, almost all of it was spent on console, and I win almost every Nurse game I play, most people have no clue how to deal with Nurse.
Usually when I get a few wins, the game considers giving me survivors who stand a chance for a while. Usually their tactic, beside using knowing how to make a Nurse chase last, is to cram 3 gens in parallel, then two. (That tactic works pretty much against anything and give good results even if the chases are fast)
On maps like Midwich, the smartest ones play very stealthy which give them another edge.
Full disclaimer : I almost never use any add-ons and I'm almost only doing chase/kill builds. No regression. (2.5k hours btw)
-
If "boom" means after several thousands of hours, then yes.
Otherwise, I'm curious to see you win "pretty much any game". Beside the ones who complain all day long, there are survivors who actually have a clue as how to beat a Nurse and do it most of the time.
-
A few, and some have been Steam friends since.
However I don't think they know it's me as I have a (very) different name for each of my DbD accounts.

Twins are clunky because there is a 2 second "stun similar to Nurse" when you switch between them.
My suggest for fixing them to remove that awful clunkiness is change that 2 second "stun" into a 2 second delay when switching Twins. What I mean by this, is that when you hit the ability button, you continue using the current twin for 2 seconds then automatically switch to the other Twin after 2 seconds. Remove the stun, remove the visioning dimming affect. That will make the Twins much more fun to play and keeps the 2 second delay in there for balancing reasons.
It's even better than that. With your suggested change, some additional mind-games are possible.

Most matches I play agains't twins end up her slugging everyone so yeah I don't think she is that bad to play. Nobody can avoid victor you are quaranteed to hit with him.
I've done the rifts and some matches were heavy on slugging. I won them all too.
Yet it wasn't very enjoyable. It's not about winning. I don't like being on either side of the Twins. I find both sides equally annoying and frustrating. I doubt I would play them if it wasn't for a rift or a daily.
(I have no idea of how to make them better though)

Huntress is another good example. I often see people complain about "truck sized hatchet hit boxes" when its actually really hard to make long range hits. Or even short ones over obstacles like a fence or a car. Which hit thin air.
Yes, it's sheer ignorance. (Or incompetence, one never being far from the other.)
