It seems likely that you'll be able to proxy camp just fine.
If true, I guess it's fine and only the pure campers (e.g. Bubba carricatures) will be affected, which is good.
Does that mean no more Basement Bubba? xD

The part about outpost visits makes sense.
I didn't read the rest as I don't care that much about the game anymore until visits are fixed.

I would recommend trying again soon.
Outpost exposure has changed. From the recent AMA it was revealed an actove outpost has increased visibility until it gets a certain number of kills. They only thing you sre up agains is 'player agency'. If the intel on you outpost lost nt good and the thumbnail is deterring, you might still not get raids; but that isnt the devs fault. Builder have to cater to the desires of the raiders. Sad, but true.
Accolades are worth more and the amount neeeded to prestige is less; add in the prestige buff and you likely wont miss a prestige. I have yet to not pretige an outpost since the update. I came relly close to missing prestige with a new large/bruta on p1, but clutch got a raid in the last couple minutes; which incidentally gave it enough to reach p5.
I can only assume there are other reasons you stopped playing; but you did not mention them, so I cannot advise if they have been impoved upon.
Not having my bases visited (something like a total of 8 visits after 3 prestiges) was what made me stop. I've made two bases so far : no kill rooms, just multi paths with more or less cleverly placed traps. None were worth my time.
There were also a couple of other things but they are fixed now. (Harvey kill, through-cube exploit, ...)
I'll try again when a base isn't being disabled until it has a minimum amount of visits, instead of 12 mere hours.

I could not care less about what is said by survivors in the chat beside "gg" and "gl hf next".
If they throw some key words about the tactic I've used, I'm likely to reply by something like:
- And you point is?
- First game?
- Your mistake here is to believe I care.
- Let me tell you this: (and then I leave 😋)
But that's if I've not immediately left after dropping a "gg"
Strangely, from the killer side I get, at most, the rare "gg ez" that's the telltale sign of a 12 year old still learning how to communicate. There is no point even trying to speak with that.

I think healthy hook grabs should be removed.
90% of my hours are on Killer.
By opposition to what? Unhealthy ones?
There is no point grabbing when a survivor can go down in one simple hit.

have you ever seen an ad for the game?
I've seen several references but as a general rule I don't see adds, at all, for anything. I avoid any media that could expose me to adverts. (e.g. Not watched TV since the end of the 199x)

This is exactly what the Finisher Mori would prevent honestly.
Just end the match as soon as there are no standing Survivors left.
This prevents:
1) Killers deliberately bleeding out Survivors, just to be an ass to the Survivors.
2) Survivors crawling 300 miles across the map to where the Killer cant find them to deliberatley bleed themselves out, just to be an ass to the Killer.
3) Survivors going to areas where there is no hook within carrying range, forcing the Killer to bleed them out, just to be an ass to the Killer.
If I recall, that particular test was a disaster. (I don't remember specifically why.)

Honestly, I always assume any survivor that needs to be escorted out must have a super depressing life in real life.
If you call that a life ...
As for OP, when it happens there are a few things to do : break doors, break pallets and never ever go even close enough to the gates to see or be seen.
-
Oh right, because removing an interaction would be such a good idea ... ?
My only complain for the grabs is how many times they get cancelled.
@Krazzik said:
Most people I've seen seem to agree that healthy hook grabs shouldn't be a thing, simply because they promote a weird, unintuitive and frankly boring playstyle of playing the 'grab game'. Even putting latency-issues aside it's just plain bad game design.
I don't remember BHVR commenting on hook-grabs at all.
I would make absolutely no sense to disable healthy grabs. A simple hit is easier, faster and guaranteed.

Bombed? I understand "bombed" as unfairly badly reviewed.
My review of the game, updated the 22th of April, is negative for various reasons that made me stop pretty early and, as far as I know, aren't fixed yet.
About a month ago, I've tried twice to prestige my outpost to get visit and had virtually nothing. (That was my chief complain, there are several others.)
There is a reason the Steam charts are showing such a drop in the player base.
-
Ah, I was about to post that up.
The biggest interest being that it means one can probably play DBD on a Linux computer.
-
As long as you are not teaming up with some survivors against the others, it's fine.
I presume you speak about the long-range achievement. (If I recall, that's the one requiring the most skill/hours with Huntress)
If you can convince survivors to "farm" with you, it should be all right. However usually a killer has to overwhelm survivors in order to make them understand it's better to play "nice" (by opposition to crushing them mercilessly). And even they, they don't always get it.
Sometimes just acting weird will make them understand (standing emphatically under a pallet, hitting a gen with your weapon several times ...) but in my experience the whip and the carrot is the best motivator.
-
I think my maximum is slightly above 32K

Bots have unnaturally fast reflexes to all of the ranged powers. Try hitting them with Trickster or Pyramid Head's power too and you'll feel pain.
They aren't faster than some of the survivors I usually verse. Except the bots can't seem to dodge point-blank, which the survivors can do. (Now the question is do these survivor do it without the help of some tool, but that's beside the point.)
@MimiDBD said:
Really? I found them boring. Hopefully one day they will be a difficult setting for them because right now I find them way too easy and they love running to the edge of the map where there’s no resources.
I guess it depends what killer you use. I bet they are pretty weak against M1 killers or anything that's mostly melee.

Wrong. 3 sirvivors win, 1 loses.
Unlike Identity V there is no team victory mechanic ( that game gives 30% extra points for 3+ escapes or kills)
I'd like to point out something about Op's point about killers not getting told to enjoy losing.
"Be happy with 3k and dont even try for 4k you sweaty tryhard" is like one of the ten commandments of this community. EVERY ######### KILLER gets told to not go for the full kills.
You think its bad to be told that your death mighrve helped the others escape? Now imagine if everyone, even other survs would pressure you into accepting to deliberately not going for an escape afzer you did 1.2 gens.
Your gripe with dying is legit, no objections on my side. But the community wants to treat survivors as a team, for various reasons.
This is the definition of a survivor win. If you don't agree, it's on you.
-
20 in a day? That's the total I got for level 5 prestige on an outpost that gets accolades too.
(I've given up, again, this time for a couple of month.)
-
If someone tries to find anything to be offended at, he will probably succeed.
Not an achievement I would envy though.
-
The (second?) weakest killer in the game is busted ... rrrrright.

Lots of people agree depipping should be removed, but BHVR hasn't acknowledged it at all.
I had a survivor match the other day where someone died early, the other two disconnected shortly after, killer found the hatch and I managed to scratch through the exit gate and escape, avoiding NOED in the process. But because the match was so short and I had barely gotten to do anything, I still depipped. It's an awful feeling, caused by awful design.
That alone should be a reason to change that mechanic. What are they afraid of? Less frustration?
@Caiman said:
Just had a match where the killer gave up and went idle in the first 2 minutes. We finish the gens and left. I depipped.
Seriously, I still don't know why this still exists.
Ditto.
@Pulsar said:
Yeah, de-pipping really doesn't make sense now that Grades are totally separate from matchmaking.
Another good point.
We should probably complain a bit more about it, and more often. They may get the hint. (Or explain why they don't agree.)
-
Hopefully a bug. I've abandoned about half the outpost I've tried this evening, and reported almost half of these (for various crap, lava thing, ...). It would annoy me even more than the almost-zero visits on my outpost.
-
The tunneling didn't start with 6.7.0
The destruction of the other tactics (e.g. regression) has made tunneling the one remaining option for a killer who wants to win.
The change in DH only made the game more difficult for survivors who cannot play without it. And most will adapt in a few days.
-
Sprint Burst is pretty strong, but no : I've seen a bunch of Lithe and Balance Landing.
-
Any big change on META builds is bound to hurt for a while.
Most DH users will need time to adapt.
-
Survivors win when 3 escape or more.
Killers win when there are 3 kills or more.
That should not be too difficult a concept.
-
The one killer I didn't acquire and never plan to.

I've been in a couple of games like this today. I was the killer.
I've been as polite as I could in the chat but, the truth is, in both matches only one of my opponents was decent. The three others were too easy to predict. I could have killed them with an M1 and no perks.
When the difference of strength is so big, it can only be explained by a skill gap or extremely bad luck. Being AFK works too.
-
Agreed. That's why I report & block such outposts.
-
Answered? Answered where?
edit: oh, there are patch notes: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/patchnotes
I guess the answer is "nothing on that list is fixed".
-
Yes, survivor is difficult when you begin. More difficult than killer.
After all, any idiot can find clueless survivors and smash them M1-style.
With time, the balance changes : survivors learn the ropes, to loop, to be unpredictable, to stealth, to save, ...
While killers need to actually learn their powers, to track, to manage the very little time they have, ...
One very important thing, since you begin : whatever side you prefer, play both roles. (Know your enemy.) It'll make you a better player.

It's more so that some people are deadset in their beliefs that "dead hard shouldn't exist" so when it finds its place whether it's still meta or niche, I think people are still going to complain about it once people get a handle on how it fits into their playstyle
Granted, the most annoying part about it for the Killer side has been addressed (not knowing it's there and having to wait), but a new problem will arise, most likely killers having a decent early game and then losing it because of extended chases by swinging into people's dead hards they got earlier or people saving their DHs until absolutely necessary which I imagine will make killers feel even more robbed.
I swear people are still going to complain no matter what. Dead Hard is probably the closest thing the role has to a Nurse equivalent in terms of complaints.
Non stop complaining until it's completely gone.
You make a good point. I've already seen players using it more carefully (in my good-killer matches).
That being said, I don't think the complains will come back, not from reasonable players. (We know there are some more ... emotional ... elements.)
DH can only be used twice during a game, and only after the first hook. It means the important first chase can be shorter than it was pre-6.7.0
It also means a survivor only gets at most two more health-states (from that perk). That's some precious seconds the killer can save there.

Ive been DH since the beginning. My cope is this: DH, Lithe, Adrenaline, Distortion.
Lithe most of the game, use DH on death hook/end game. Killer doesnt suspect it since Lithe is 'my only exhaustion' perk.

Smart. I wouldn't expect it either.

Let's just wait, it's the first days of a new patch, the game feels messy and everyone tries out new things, but soon it will be more balanced. But yeah in the few games i played they couldn't finish more than 1-2 gens every game...
Also i'm pretty sure MMR needs to re-arrange.
It's a given in time players will adapt, like always.
I've also been wondering if there was something wrong with the MMR. Hard to say at the moment though.

-"The definition of fair play is equal respect for the rules from both sides."
I don't agree with your definition; I think the one I gave is a much better fit.
The definition of fair play is when you use an ability and it's fun to be the user as well as having that ability used on you.
Imagine a fps shooter where you get a crazy ability for making a kill streak that allows you to kill more people and get even better killstreaks and better rewards. Would it be fun in a Call of Duty match if someone got 30 kills in a row so they could deploy a tactial nuke that deleted anyone in a 50m circle of a painted target? The answer is no.
It needs to be fun to play as Nurse but it needs to be fun when you play against Nurse. Assuming you have a good understanding of DBD this is true for the most part. But for the majority of DBD's lifetime there has been great consideration about what is fun to play as survivor without any consideration for how it feels to the killer.
No killer main ever said : I sure to love how DH made the game less fun for the killer and made chases longer for no reason.
I saw a discussion recently about the game Among Us and what constitutes fair play. It is possible to prove your innocence by performing certain tasks to other crew members. If you do this with 3-4 crew members then you can be certain that those players are not the imposter. If those players always stick together it becomes impossible for them to lose.
This creates an unfun scenario where you have no chance to win as the imposter when crew members can without a doubt identify other players who have a 0% chance of being the imposter.
If everyone plays this game in this manner then it becomes a pointless endeavor to play the game at all. If you are the imposter then you will lose so the game is not even worth playing.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3403174#Comment_3403174
The problem with this is that new players would get really frustrated because they already suck in chase. Good players would have no issue with collision.
If touching the killer knocked you over and stopped you then it would 100% stop bodyblocking. The killer could knock you over and then swing at the injured player and then turn around to hit you as you stand up. it would be high risk/high reward to try and block a killer from hitting your friend.
Sounds something interesting to test.

Give it a month
You're still gonna see DH, and people are still gonna complain about it
Some people won't be satisfied until the perk is ACTUALLY useless, even the original PTB version was still sort of useful
I've finally versed a few DH, both with my weaker and my best killers. I'm not completely used to it yet but I can tell this is not the abomination it used to be anymore. It will not force every player to "handle" it or try to provoke it for every single chase, not knowing if it's in play or not.

Honestly i would play without an exhaustion perk if they weren't so good at countering tunneling. Tho i do think that bhvr should do more perks with very strong effects that are countered by being disabled while exhausted like iron will as of right now you are actively griefing yourself and your team by not having one
Well, they are good against getting caught so that covers tunnelling a bit.
@Thusly_Boned said:
I run exhaustion perks all the time, but never run DH (usually Lithe). So for me, it'll be business as usual.
I don't think it'll be a bloodbath for long, or at all. People will start using SB/Lithe/BL. Sprint Burst may be the strongest of the bunch.
Average players who relied on it will need time to adapt. The others will be fine, or as fine as they usually were.
I presume the better players will be fine.
I still believe Sprint Burst is generally better. Just more difficult to use and may be more situational.

a very special build or a specific function in a team.
Wdym? One of the absolute best survivors I ever went against was solo q hasn't used a perk since 2020 - dude has like 3k+ on power moves on the dbd leaderboard charts. I didn't see dead hard in every match, survivor or killer. It was certainly the most popular but it wasn't hardly the only one I ever saw
My killers cover a wide range of the MMR (I'm not sure how high I've been but I'm guessing the above 10k hours teams I've versed with my Nurse were pretty high) and the only place I've seen no DH in a match was on the lower MMRs (e.g. my Trapper or my Onryo).
I know such teams exist of course, I just can't recall versing them before these last few days. (There has been a slight increase of teams using other exhaustion perks recently.)
I'm always interested in "new" tactics (from my point of view) so if you have details, I'm listening.

Not really. I never run them. Never cared for them personally. They're not nearly as important as alot of people believe.
I'm very interested by your builds and tactics then. I'm a Sprint-burst/Overcome based survivor and my tactics usually gravitate around quick-escape/ninja. (Hiding next to the killer is my go-to stealth tactic. They see me fly away, expect I'm two blocs away or something and almost never expect I've doubled-back and don't see me.)

Possible, yes, but they are so powerful it has to be for a very special build or a specific function in a team.
-
Maps are generally too big. A lot of them need to see their size drastically reduced.
-
The funny thing is, as rare as it was (except in higher MMR brackets) there was virtually no one complaining about it in the PTB feedback and, to my surprise, my post about it was largely ignored.
I guess it's done now.

Communication has never been the forte of BHVR.

Depends on the team, the map, or if I absolutely need to win (e.g. to get a final pip)
If with my first hook I see that 3 gens are done in parallel, it's tunnel-mode. (e.g. using BBQ)

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/372001/is-body-blocking-a-fair-technique
It's an unpopular opinion but I don't think there should be any bodyblocking in DBD.
It's not fun when Survivors do it to the killer at the end of a game to deny pressure.
It's not fun when a Trapper blocks you and puts a trap at your feet or a LF revs a chainsaw while you cant move.
Remove body blocking and EVERYONE will have more "clean" fun.
Instead of making everyone a ghost, make body-blocking a killer an instant-hit without any time penalty for the killer and call it a day.
-
I was about to complain about the lack of update of the game.
I guess this will do.
At least they've pushed 6.7.0 on DbD.
-
The good thing is that from now on, baiting DH will be less of an issue.
-
Looking at the screenshots, I can tell they are childish jerks but they don't look like bully squads.
The items nor the perks fit a team made to "bully" a killer.
If it makes you feel better, these are the kind of players who DC the minute it doesn't go well for them or stay silent in the chat when they have been destroyed.
They are not worth the space they are occupying in your mind. What's the word? Rent-free?
It used to be, before the 1K hour mark, I had trouble with some kinds of survivors. After a while (more than 3K hours now) it went better and now my favorite kind of opponents are the "bullies", the real ones. They are so predictable I'm amazed the rare times I only get a draw against such a team. I've killed these with a bunch of different killers, including Trapper (that's how "easy" they can be.) Strangely, it's more difficult when I'm on Nurse as they tend to be way more careful against that killer.
