Every time I get a good three gen strat they have a key.... I’m tired of keys and moris.

I have a sneaking suspicion the game knows the killer is being a dick at this point and increases the chance of a key, but that is just suspicion.

  • Five gens got done and you are concerned about adrenaline? You are already screwed - take your loss with some dignity.

In case that was not clear, I would not nerf either one.

  • Yes, this ranks high on my list of peeves. It is like they forget there are other survivors there and that only they can make the save. One of the worst plays was a Dwight on a hook against hag, I was crouching in for the save, when another Meg comes bounding up with killer in tow. She could plainly see me there, but she rushes to Dwight unhooks him in front of hag taking a hit, Dwight is hit and goes down (no BT of course), then the hag sees me standing nearby stunned at what I just saw and hits me. Then she proceeds to chase the stupid Meg and downs her a mere ten seconds later. Two slugs and I'm injured.

Makes me want to strangle them while staring deeply into their eyes until their last moment of life leaves them.

  • It's just pillow talk, baby, get over it and grow some skin.

I had the worst thing happen to me, and I don't think they are OP:

I had a match where the entire enemy team 99% EVERY SINGLE HOOK. The moment I downed someone, I started getting a ton of sound alerts as they ran around tapping hooks across the map so I could not hook anyone.

Like, I thought they were hacking, because I thought you had to commit to hook sabo's or lose all that progress.

It was just a wave of sound alerts all across the map. >.<

But no, toolkits are not OP.

It's not the toolkits that were OP.

  • Spine Chill is kind of like how Whispers is for killers, it is hard to get used to at the start, but once you learn how to use it, it is incredibly good.

I liked Technician too, but was disappointed it just affects the noise you make repairing a gen, not the noises the gen makes itself. It doesn't even do that well - look up PainReliever's technician sound comparison on youtube. The 50% insurance against a gen blown is also nice, but 50% is still pretty low, the perk is pretty worthless unfortunately. It should be buffed to be a decent counter to the latest Surveillance.

Alert is pretty good with the last buff it got. Killers are always breaking pallets and kicking generators. Can give you an idea of where bad areas to avoid are - since the pallets were broken.

Lithe is okay but barely. It's one of my least favorite exhaustion perks - mainly because when it triggers you are often either in a loop or mind gaming the killer and have to wait to see where they commit, thus wasting the speed boost.

  • You're actually trying to figure out ways to force people to remain in a game they don't want to be in?

    <chuckles> Good luck.

  • You should get a safety pip and escape credit (along with a free 5k BP), but if the match went on for awhile (I think 2 minutes or longer seems to be the cut off), the game just considers what you earned up to that point, which is usually a de-pip since you did not have the chance to really do anything yet.

Of course being the solid code that is DBD, it will often just de-pip you whenever a killer DCs anyway.

lol 100% accurate. Touching a gen will instantly mori you with Ruin. It's just the facts.

I can power through Ruin, but I'm more concerned about other survivors being able to do gens. Getting that ruin helps my peace of mind immensely.

  • Blindness is already debilitating not seeing auras when you need them, like slugged survivors or people on hooks and countering aura read perks survivors have.

Hemorrhage speeding up hook death or bleed out? Campers would love that. I don't know about the skill checks being blurry - that sounds more like a perk level thing and you should consider what would happen with stacking other perks/add-on to it. Hemorrhage should be a useful choice, but not elevated to meta level.

  • I have a build with both SC + Botany (I would not use SC unless I had botany as well). Really great when you do use a medkit, you can use it solely for others and for a long time.

It's also nice to have a pocket heal when you need it and like someone mentioned, keeping healthy means you can extend chases longer meaning more time for others to do gens or when you find yourself isolated on the map, or you when you need that heal after the gates are opened (and adrenaline would not of helped you).

However, there is a time to SC and a time to not SC - the perk isn't the problem. People who need to act now, but instead SC is the problem.

  • Depends - SC is still okay to me (but I use it with botany if I do use it - which is both amazing when you have a medkit as well). The important thing many SC users do not understand is there is a time to SC and a time not to SC. Sometimes you need to act now - and that may involve doing so injured, not later once you have healed yourself to full.

  • He's not entirely wrong - the game does favor the cowards.

  • Balanced Landing - for when you get chased

Decisive Strike - for when you get tunneled

Bond - for watching other survivors; to make sure they don't screw you and you don't screw them

    Adrenaline - for end game

Being solo you want to look out for number one, but still be a good survivor for others. The longer they live, the higher chance of you surviving.

2 DC’s lol. Sure it says more about the killer and not the overly tilted toxic potatoes. A half decent team with this setup on a map where BL is actually usefull kicks ass, you can’t do anything.

Well maybe you can't do anything...

  • @Mellow7 said:

Well what are you trying to do? Pip or escape? As a solo survivor my main goal is always 1 pip. If you're looking to escape as solo survivor you should know that rarely happens because teammates are just very unreliable. With that said you should just do SWF but that won't make you a better survivor.

It won't make you a better survivor, but it will give you better results. it might make you a better survivor knowing you got three other people who won't selfishly screw you over intentionally, so you can actually work as a team.

For solo I got no other advice except maybe just play killer. I'm not playing survivor anymore, so that's all I got for you.

no but its in the mobile version of the game, so wheres your data that says more dodging will occur?

I just admitted I would do it more.

  • Consider it community service. You de-pipped 4 survivors who did not deserve their rank (assuming everyone was playing around the same rank).

  • Guess I'm just sick of suffering survivor nerfs that succeed in hitting solos hardest, because some swf took it to the nine.

How often you get hit with this scenario? Every time they play if you listen to the killer whines.

  • Disregard the result. Haha.

You didn't even use a mori, which is the first thing many killers would of slapped on seeing four medkits on a potential swf. I feel this says more about killer than survivor.

And you are counting adrenaline as bringing an insta heal, wow. It looks like they didn't even get that far, so each survivor was playing with only 3 perks the whole game.

And that's MYC I see - insta downs don't seem to bother you.

I guess survivors would feel bad about a killer bringing NOED with an ebony mori too, so what's your point?

  • Now I'd like to see some stats that aren't 3+ months old and more up to date. A lot has happened since April.

  • That's poor that she does not move grass/corn while phasing - she can certainly bump into survivors, so there is definitely some collision going on. I thought she used to move grass/corn but it was either a bug or a stealth buff. I know she used to scare crows.

She should either move grass/corn while phasing or have no collision vs. survivors while phasing.

  • I depends on how the match is going regarding totems. I probably won't go scouring the map for totems against a Billy, but I'm usually looking for the hex:ruin they always have. I often go up against red rank Billies that are real good, so I don't expect to survive the trial anyway in those cases especially when he is downing survivors left and right. Therefore, I will take what I can get before I punch out.

and you have 2200 hours on DBD? You should of reached that next level of tranquility by now - or found a permanent SWF.

  • As long as they keep it civil - it's cathartic. Killers especially need the outlet being an isolated role otherwise.

  • @Mister_xD said:

you do know that affects billys chainsaw now?

that is a LOT better than before.

holy #########, this might even be god like on billy... O.O

I've seen this on a few Billys - but it is tough for the majority to give up one of these: Ruin, BBQ/Chili, Enduring, Spirit Fury

  • There's nothing wrong with borrowed time. If you are worried about people getting saved off hooks, you have a much larger problem than BT in my opinion.

If killer hits the unhooked deep wounds to both survivors (from full health even) is laughable. I also liked how you increased the window to 30 seconds to give the killer more time to hit the unhooked and get a free deep wounds on the savior.

I am not understanding how MYC got mentioned in there - thought this was about BT.

As for getting triggered because survivors unhook in a killers face, let me tell you how it usually goes...

Killer hooks survivor then proceeds to pretend to look around every corner and in every locker in the area of the hooked for the next 60 seconds until the survivor goes into 2nd stage. Since hooked survivor is going into second stage anyway, the saving survivor will make a save 'in the killer's face'. Killer wanted to tunnel unhooked survivor all along and hits them to discover BT is in effect. After match killer then proceeds to come to forum to present bad idea that makes BT useless and enables them to tunnel easier in the future.

  • @MyNamePete said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/600744#Comment_600744

its literally in the mobile version, stop acting like a clown 🤡🤡🤡

And instead of insulting me do you have any actual data from that which says more dodging would not occur?

  • Just take this advice - people who say it is easy to escape as a solo survivor are survivors you do not want to trust in a trail. They are happy to use other survivors as fodder by whatever means necessary.

  • Sure put survivor perks up for everyone to see so when I see a no mither I can dodge them every time. Or if someone hates UE or SC on other survivors, they can dodge them. Or how about WGLF with BT - looks like a hook farmer to me, dodge. Or if anyone sees other people not using 'meta' perks or perks they hate, they can decide to dodge them immediately.

Yeah let's get that in there.

  • An action de-buff isn't going to coerce good survivors into cleansing early and give plague the ability to down them even faster. Has to be some sort of additional de-buff, while also not insuring the death of all the survivors by giving her a power that is easy to hit with and destroys any looping/pallet/vault strategy (you know the only things survivors have to defend themselves). As it stands now, whenever someone cleanses too early with plague and she powers up, it feels like game over for survivors - and it usually is.

Tough thing to balance - if you make being sick more horrible than getting downed fast by machine gun vomit - then you risk people not even bothering to play vs. a plague. It's just weird plague mechanics to begin with.

  • The Entity mori's the killer on a displeased result when last survivor escapes.

  • If they disconnected before the match fully loaded, thus canceling the match, then you should still have your cake offering. The offering is removed from your load-out though and re-added to your inventory, so you just have to replace it again in your load-out, but it is not actually burned.

  • Quentin can see into your very soul...

  • In a word...no.

If they decide to suicide or let go that is supported by the game and not punishable.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

@darktrix except you can’t plan for/around when you will or will not be in a chase (for the most part).

Hence if there is an opportunity to wake up, why not?

I'm doing me dammit. Come get me Freddy! Least I'll probably see you before you see me.

  • Isn't this obsolete these days?

Anyway I think they all are pretty in their own ways. Kate is an obvious beauty, Min is high degree cute, Nea may have a stern face but that can be attractive and her body/fashion are top notch, Meg with those braids and high cheeks has a farmer's daughter thing - if she dressed a little better would be awesome, but being a tom boy in the rough is not wholly unattractive either, Laurie has that sexy resting b---- face going on (and she will stab you, that's kind of hot), Claudette is nerdy cute, Jane has curves for years.

  • @C3Tooth said:

Whats about 1st hook then suicide on the hook?

Nothing for that - not against any rules and part of the game, much like camping and tunneling is.

  • It's fine and completely OK.

I will dodge survivors who have screwed me in the past or are known toxic killer mains playing survivor in a heartbeat. Why cripple myself with going in with survivors who I know will hook farm, hide in a locker all game, or DC on their first down?

If anyone asks you can just say the ping was bad.

why did you assume that i was making fun of pallets? i totally wasn't :>

Oh, hard to tell with text. I really would rather be given a shotgun instead of pallets.

  • @Clockso said:

oh no, a crazy serial killer is chasing me, he wants to kill me so bad but worry not guys I HAVE THIS PIECE OF WOOD THAT IF I DROP I'LL BE SAFE.

You got a better idea to keep me off the hook? Cause the hook sucks.

  • Sabotage is pretty useless with all the hooks around anyway. The only reason I sometimes do it is to not deny a killer a hook while carrying someone, but to destroy a hook near a gen I am working on so if someone else gets downed nearby or I get downed the killer will go elsewhere to hook instead of right next to my nice, nearly completed gen.

Sort of to guide a killer to go hook someplace else more desirable to me.

  • I feel hope is under-rated. Cutting the killer's speed advantage by almost half (or more) - or getting to where you need to go to open gates and make saves faster is pretty useful. Killers are not used to hope either, they often will miss on their first lunge not realizing your increased speed. When both adrenaline and hope go off during a chase you can almost see the killer's own hope fade from their eyes.

The only thing I really like about wake-up is the auras of showing the switches and your aura when you open to other survivors.

Neither is really useful for EGC - you can just open the gate for a few seconds before the light comes on, hide from killer patrol, then try to open rest of the way and that replaces any advantage wake-up had in faster opening.

I've been wanting to do resilience with wake-up and see how that goes - but it's really niche as well. I think it stacks for 24% faster exit opening and if you were also under effects of leader that might really opens exits fast.

  • @Juicebox38 said:

Yea sometimes SWF just doesnt work out. It sucks because when you do play, a survivor gets knocked down, killer picks him up and BAM! Disconnect. There should be a hefty penalty for quitting. Friday the 13th has for the most part deterred quitting. You get salt and have to go play with other salty players.

Having a salt mine is nice, but probably more work than the devs could spare. Then you don't have to worry about bans - just let them dc against each other long as they like.

  • I think 30 minutes is good, just enough time to get involved in doing something else less frustrating.

  • @Raccoon said:

If you look at the post histories of the two users above you, you'll see that they are are best ignored in civil conversation.

Ouch. That was kind of an uncivilized personal attack itself.

In general all I know is I solo and I don't want to be a jerk to killers. I have only ever teabagged once against a killer who hard tunneled me all game and I somehow managed to escape - the moment got the better of me. Otherwise if I have nothing good to say I say nothing. In my observations it has been pretty even the number of killer and survivor bad mouthing each other and it was usually sparked when killer was tunneling or camping one of them or was triggered because the survivor did something minor like loop or carried a tool box.

  • Good points - I'm putting knocking out the basement gen as priority one with Freddy now.

    @[Deleted User] said:

Well, if you are not in a chase it is my opinion it is better not to worry about waking up.

That's the risk you're taking if you put yourself into a position where you cannot hide as easily.

There's a reason why you shouldn't repair an unsafe generator, because they are out in the open.

Often times you don't have a choice unless you like giving the killer an easy three gen strat. It is also wise to knock out unsafe gens while majority of survivors are alive and can distract killer because you probably won't get the chance later. Don't worry though, there are usually survivors out there who are willing to take the risk instead of you in order to help improve your chances at escape.

  • @DallasStorm said:

I am still wondering why people are worried about rank? Is it for bragging rights? Because rank does not give you Bloodpoints, it don't help with your player level or Blood Shards.

I would like to see Rank go away and search a match by a specific region.

It's just something to do and shoot for is all. If if you don't care about shards or blood points anymore, then there's really no other goals in the game.

Supposedly, the game might respect ranking when it comes to matchmaking and therefore similar skill levels would be matched, but we all know how that goes.

It also makes me feel that the more I rank up the more likely I am to get matched with survivors I know and trust.

@darktrix except that could reveal your aura and make you a target. Plus potentially accidentally wasting legitimate pallets.

That's why I said if you are certain. I suppose there is the risk of making noise and aura if he has that add-on, but if he's far away I would try to do another survivor a solid when I can before they stumble onto it.

I guess for this post I prefer being asleep when not in a chase to better keep tabs on the killer and what he is doing, but definitely better to be awake during a chase.
