I have legacy prestige Meg with 1700 hours, feel free to look at my acheivements on steam if you don't believe me. My steam ID is TomTheSequel and my profile is open to view. Also believe it or not I play both killer and survivor because I believe in order to fully enjoy both sides you have to PLAY both sides. This 'us' vs 'them' mentality is imo silly because there are definitely blatant balance issues on BOTH sides. Currently the scales are tipped in the survivors favor in the high ranks.
That proves nothing about your claim - some of the biggest potatoes I have ever seen wore Legacy or P3. Your claim was solo, no mither, high escape rate (and not I can only assume this is at red ranks due to what you said).
I guess I should ask what a high escape rate meant.
-
@TomTheSequel said:
I main survivor only because it is so much easier and less stressful than playing killer. I solo survivor all the time with no mither and I still have a high escape percentage.
Strange that in your previous posts you say you main killer - pig and clown to be exact.
Oh, now your outrageous claim makes sense now.

Survivors are empirically not being nerfed. They're still the actual power role, despite the influx of noobs.
The biggest issue right now is that there's been a killer released, a killer rereleased, and.. nothing of importance on the survivor end, including Bill's release on console because his perks were already out. Average hype for new content is about a month - we've had nearly 4 months since the last survivor release. There's been nothing to draw people toward that side, and 2 PTBs and 2 releases to draw people towards killer.
I see this as well - each release is more improved ways to kill survivors or survivors having to deal with new wonky mechanics. Survivors get nothing really new besides...more nerfs to whatever means they have to defend themselves, and maybe perks, two of which are usually useless with the 3rd getting nerfed sometime in the next update.
-
Machine gun vomit is so brain dead easy to hit and down people with - and you wonder why no one cleanses.
-
Depends. I'm sure the part a good number of killers are leaving out is how they did indeed camp and tunnel or otherwise were toxic to survivors, yet the survivors made it out (especially if it involved luck) and wanted to leave them something special. Then they come on this forum to vent about their so called injustice done to them.
-
Killers won't like that because that would endanger their source of easier kills.
Hardcore solos won't like it because they don't want to be swf - plus having to mute all those mouth breathers who don't use push to talk and play their crappy music in the background would get old real fast.

Yes. ban everything you don't agree with. That's how you solve problems.
I don't want SWF to "go anywhere". My recommended solution might be flawed to some of you, but that doesn't mean something better can't be thought up.
The fact that you're all saying how many times you've heard other people complain about SWF should be a red flag to at least some of you. That alone should be enough to try and find a solution.
I'm tempted to let killers just block anything and everything they don't like - survivors, swf, items. We'll see how long that lasts when their queue times are three hours per game.

I believe they do. Keep in mind as well that I can put them up as quickly as you can break them, even in a chase I can put them out without slowing, even through walls, so I will out pallet you :)
Well gee, I'm not going to do it with you right there. Come on now.
-
It's like that when everyone is starting out, the killers fill graveyards with all the 4ks on survivors; and they are fine with that giving sneers of 'git gud'.
Then when they run into survivors that got 'gud' who can put up a fight, then killers want survivor nerfs and killer buffs in order to keep 4k-ing and keep their 'power role'.
-
What do I think? I think your idea would increase the DC rate against Plague substantially.
They choose to no cleanse because giving the Plague the machine gun vomit is a more dangerous option.
Instead of forcing survivors to cleanse and thus contribute to their more speedy demise - perhaps make being sick slightly more debilitating while at the same time making the machine gun vomit less of an 'I win' for the Plague.
What you are proposing is a damned if you do, damned if you don't and that will not fly well.
-
Seriously? Okay...
1) Totems dull and hex are worth good points now and count toward emblems.
2) Look up a perk called 'We're Gonna Live Forever' and this is also worth points and emblems.
3) There are several ways to counter bbq/chili - jumping in a locker is only one of them and can be a risky one at that. Oh and if you do use a locker you should be in it BEFORE the survivor is hooked.
4) Cleansing gives her access to her machine gun vomit - probably should be avoided in the first place. Also they probably did you a favor - now if people are cleansing you can get a fast heal at a fountain instead of hanging around the area waiting for the other person to heal you before the killer returns.
5) This is just bad player - by my experience it is usually the guy off the hook that forgets to hit crouch immediately and triggers the trap.
6) Again just bad players who don't know or don't care.
7) They probably have not trained themselves to see the small icon pop up that you have it when you save them. Easy for new players to miss that. If the killer is a tunneler they may want a bit of head start just in case, many tunnelers will drop a chase just to go after a fresh unhook.
-
'the power role' !!!!
LOL whenever I see someone text that - like it is a sacred level of being or something.
So, when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, which should prevail?
'the power role'?!?!?
It is far easier to coordinate a killer's activity than a pack of survivors. The only thing survivors really have going for themselves is the ability to split attention and get multiple tasks done, well, at least until they start dying off.

Do dream pallets give off a loud noise indicator when thrown? I'm toying with the idea of just following Freddy around and throwing fake pallets after he put them up.

Being asleep makes you affected by his traps. The last survivor should have to work to not be effected.
Don't really care about traps if I can see him coming far off - and I can get rid of pallets I know are fake (because I or someone else used it already) when asleep which I cannot do awake.
-
If you are asleep you can also do some fake pallet cleaning - if the ones you are certain you or someone else threw are back, throw them again and get rid of them for someone else.

That is an idea....a good one in general. But, then you won't have a defense against him, minus windows and bait switching. Or do you employ another method?
Not knowing which pallets are real isn't much of a defense in the first place when it really needs to count. Or do survivors need to walk the map while awake and hope to remember which ones are real just to have that info invalidated when another survivor throws pallets and they get replaced by fakes anyway?
There's only three ways survivors can defend themselves - vaults, pallets, stealth and with each update devs find ways to screw with each.

So, t-bagging, or clicking your flashlight 20 times a second is not BMing?
Or how about spamming loud noise notifications by repeatly doing a rushed action? A killer litterally cant ignore that, unless they turn off their sound completely.
Oh so you're a two wrongs make a right person.

@darktrix seems a little bias may have snuck in, considering that a killer has only one character to control while survivors have four. In order for the game to be balanced, 1 killer is supposed to be roughly equivalent to 4 survivors, and yet when everyone in the trial is of equivalent skill the survivors have an extreme advantage. Killers who are genuinely better than survivors are more than capable of losing even to a loosely coordinated team.
Perkless it's a different story, but a lot of design in DbD is based around the idea of counterplay, which is why survivor bias is often assumed. Inherently, reactions will tend to be more strong than initial actions given that they have more information, and so the many survivor 'reaction perks' provide a serious edge - the perks and visual notifications are catching up for killers, but they're not equivalent in exchanged information yet.
That is where it gets tricky with that base thinking - because as soon as one survivor is dead or dc, then it would be a sure win for the killer every time.

MYC... so you walk away from the hook and phase back to down the one saving?
That's usually how it goes with a spirit. Tunnel the unhook or down the saver, whichever you see first. Which means the insta heals were a good move to even things out.
-
While it was interesting to have a maniac behind you wildly slashing the air as they closed in - it was exploited to give a speed boost by Legion players.
So now you got this, since I guess this was the easiest and safest way to prevent that without introducing a slew of new bugs.
-
Brought up before, blah blah blah, no thanks. The limited visibility would outright cripple survivors since the killer moves much faster, survivors need a bit more awareness.
Now if you were willing to give up the killer's advantage of higher speed (or lessen it at least) and force survivors into first person, that might be more interesting.

Hm and whenever I do that, I get camped.

In a pallet loop you have a few options:
1) if you are uninjured or running iron will you can simply walk away from the loop, if there's an un-thrown pallet, move away from it cause if she looses you she will usually assume you are there. Also do not hug the loop cause she can run into you that way and detect you.
2) Throw the pallet early and hope she guesses wrong on the side you are on on. Hedge that bet by walking away to the other side of the pallet.
3) Make as many scratch marks as you can in a wide area while she is phasing hoping to confuse her.
4) If your hearing is good you can hear her footsteps and the direction she is coming - slam that pallet on her head when you hear it come close.
In no case should you go closer to her 'husk', she may not be phasing at all. You can test this by walking away from her and get out of her view, she will start moving pretty quickly again if she is faking.
As for prayer beads bracelet and working on gens, the only reliable warning is spine chill.
A lot comes down to luck.

Just be careful - killer opening a gate is often a setup for blood warden.

But killing the survivors is the goal of the killer and repairing the generators and then running away is that of the survivors.
I've been waiting for devs to give survivors shotguns so we can go face to face to settle things, but sadly - survivors are left with just doing gens and running away.

Except for snares, and your loops will include palletes which may not be real. Not saying he’s top tier but it’s not quite that easy, almost though sadly
As I understand he cannot use snares and pallets in the same match due to it being an add-on.

Not many killer players (players, not the killer itself) have the capability to keep up pressure by hunting and hooking survivors at a good pace. Especially newer killers will then rush back to the hook to get a lead on another survivor - but since the unhooked is injured and much easier to find being in a panic to get away from the hook cause the killer is coming right back, they get tunneled. Then when they are on last hook, well it's just one more hook til death, so they get tunneled again.
That's how most tunnels go because the one who saved just runs off and hides, not presenting another target to go after and therefore not really protecting their save. Now there is a lot of true tunneling going on where the killer will outright ignore closer targets, just to run after the one that got off the hook, but the majority of the time it is the case I just mentioned.
Tunneling is a subset of camping - used by killers who are not sufficiently skilled or confident in order to insure kills.
If you have to ask why is tunneling bad - I suggest you actually experience it for yourself and play survivor more than just once or twice instead of asking for random opinions, especially play solo where you do not get to choose your 'teammates'.

I couldn't agree more, but I think it's more about the playerbase. If players would consider the other side just a little bit, we would have a great game, but since players typically don't... It's complete chaos.
I see your view, but the game needs strong design where it is not so dependent on players being sporting to work. As it stands now just one side or the other needs to be toxic just a little to skew the match toward garbage.

Thing is, survivors want her nerfed because shes actually one of the few killers that are good and dont rely on the survivors being trash to get results.
shes one of the hardest killers in the game to master and other killers should be balanced around her. Not the other way around. Shes not OP at all
It's the same reason killers cry that survivors are OP because killers can get kills only if the survivors makes mistakes. Same with a nurse, if the nurse makes no mistakes the survivors will die and the nurse doesn't need three other people to coordinate with.

So ? You have not read the sacred book of rules for killer?
I would also like to invent a new word for survivors who continues a regressed generator instead of starting a new one.
Like we all keep saying - a generator is not a player.

@Atrushan88 said:
Here's a solution to "tunneling". Survivors, if you don't have borrowed time, stop making the ridiculous mistake of unhooking right in front of the killer's terror radius. If no one has Borrowed Time, and the killer is camping, just do gens. When I'm being camped, I'd rather you do gens and get out so I can get to the next game and have fun rather than the camping killer get a 4k because you all messed up. I'd also not like to be immediately put back on the hook for your sorry ass mistakes. Stop unhooking in front of the killer and tunneling doesn't exist.
Any other example of "tunneling" is tunnel vision, and that's a separate beast because every survivor claims that tunneling is getting knocked down right after being unhooked. In that case, you don't get objective as much but you get much more boldness. Is it bad that the killer has tunnel vision because you brought a key? Maybe? Did you sort of entice it by bringing said key? Definitely.
Even with BT that doesn't give license to do stupid saves with the killer nearby unless there is no other choice i.e. camping.
Guess you never had a killer race back to the hook as fast as they can soon as the notification goes out. Some of those killers can race back pretty fast.
-
Those stats looks to be almost 4 months old.
-
I'm just waiting for them to come up with a perk that blows up a hex totem on cleanse and automatically downs the survivor cleansing it.
Figure since haunted grounds came out they would want to screw with survivors doing bones even more.
-
They want to make it near impossible to running vault at those points. That's the only explanation.

So you'll be low rank and most likely be pitted against new players, that kind of gameplay might drive away new players intentional or not. Not that long ago someone posted how they would intentionally play as the most toxic LF and camp and tunnel all the new players, making sure that they never ranked up. They also boasted about how they would bait the people in chat afterwards just so they can get them banned.
I'm not saying you're type of person but you know sometimes they're are valid reasons when people complain about camping and tunnelling
Well all I can say is if my first two hours ever of the game consisted of being tunneled and camped into the ground...the game would get refunded fast. Since obviously, you aren't getting the chance to even play the game.
It might not even take two hours for most people to come to that conclusion, maybe just a game or two.

@RoKrueger said:
Congratulations! I love it when they come to the basement to die together instead of complete generators and leave
Even if they do that there is a good chance the killer can hook a second survivor before the exit gates are opened. So basically doing nothing a camping killer has a decent shot at a 2k and those odds skyrocket if the survivors are altruistic - even if they are not only 4 man swf has the voice comms to relay that information in a timely manner so the the other survivors can just pound out gens. Everyone else has to check out the situation, which tilts the favor toward the camper even more.
Throw insidious or stealth killer into the mix along with the way EGC works, it is even more likely of a 4k.
-
Killers want more time to kill and snowball kills. Thing is after two survivors are dead it becomes very unlikely any additional gens get done beyond one more. If they manage to kill two survivors and 2-3 gens are left to do, killer has a high probability of a 4k especially with EGC now. In contrast if survivors have completed 2-3 gens before a survivor dies, there is a high probability at least 2 survivors will escape.
So this is why killers want longer gen times.
You can see this with pure camping killers. When they camp they will get one kill for certain, with a good chance of two kills without exerting any pressure whatsoever on gens. This is if the survivors are not overly altruistic.
Killers also expect to do well versus coordinated and experienced teams of survivors without expecting to be equivalent in skill themselves.

No, it wouldn't. Like I said, it becomes an exhaustion perk. You don't run it alongside say, dead hard, or balanced landing like you see commonly. If you do, you risk the perk never activating.
The perk is already not useful half the time. Meaning unless you are injured and in a chase, the perk used up a slot for nothing, which happens quite a lot in my games - especially if no one even gets all the gens done. Killers like you just hate on it because it's a good survivor perk that does something useful when it does come into play. You already got to self care and DS - guess you all figure it is time to try and knock adrenaline down to being a disadvantage instead of a perk.
And stop crying 'free escape' - they obviously did a lot to trigger the perk, it's not 'free'. That's just sounding ignorant.
-
They just want to make sure the body count of survivors keeps going up.
I'm just glad I'm not a new player.
