Very effective for killers he means. This would kill the perk.

Lmao as if you've ever actually prevented a face camp in game against a high ranking killer. Unless a killer is a braindead rank 20. The guy who is getting face camped, is most certainly dead. Notice how you need 2 perks and even then it still doesnt prevent face camping. You said 'old' facecamping... what old facecamping??? Its never changed it's always been the same facecamping and you've done nothing to prevent it.
He means back in the old days when the killer could just stand in front of your hook and no one could unhook the person cause the killer blocked it -- face camping.

@Glisurd I rarely see camping at high ranks. Tunneling yes, but not camping. (I'll exclude the cases where survivors storm the hook or when the gens are done.)
Camping happens a lot more in the low ranks.
And for a good week or so after every rank reset.

My post was refering to person who said that finding a game with survivor is faster which is not the case in my experience. You should read before you assume things.
If you cater the survivors more this game will die surely but go on. Cater to crybabies more.
You're the only one that looks like a cry baby here.
In regards to OP - the game is not new player friendly. It takes a certain type of person to keep at it and not saying this type is better, maybe more damaged. I think we are all damaged.
There are too many weird mechanics at play, which appeal to some but turn off many others. The learning curve is very high.

Ive been unlucky my last 2 games against Pig. Both times, the key was in the last box to check, and both times, my head has popped trying. The 2nd time, I felt kinda robbed because the killer chased me for abit before I could get to the box. Even though I was in a chase...The game had the timer running for like half of it.
There's that and it delays you significantly even if you manage to get away. Also the trap themselves make enough noise that makes getting away harder. A lot of pigs just tunnel the guy with the trap on them on top of it.

I had this once as Killer. They rightfully laughed at me in chat. I said, "You're the first to do this. I usually get a 3k off it. :)"
Yeah and it was still a boring and non-interactive game as everyone was either reduced to being a hostage or just pressing M1 all game.
-
Well with solos rushing the gens on camp usually still ends with a 2K minimum after everyone figures out what is going on - no instant voice comm to relay that info you know. There's just enough time for the killer to camp, then catch another to camp.
If the killer slugs another at the hook, well then it is pretty much 3k, 4k if they catch sight of the last one at any time.
-
I'm pretty sure if you see someone else, or you get your trap off at one box, that box is done for the rest of the game. I have never seen multiple people get their traps off at the same box.
It won't unlock any other traps, so can eliminate it for future attempts.
Not 100% sure though.

By having the rest of the survivors swarm the hook. Then the killer is left in the position where they leave and get nothing because all the survivor are in that 1 area. Or stay and get punished for it even though there is no reason to leave the area.
You mean all the survivors would not do gens and come to the killer without them having to go away from the hook and search for them?
-
@twistedmonkey said:
They play like that because it works.
It's a strat they have adapted to using so you dont get the unhooker. It Seems quite a smart way to play.
That's how it goes - a nerf comes and killers say 'adapt'.
When survivors do adapt, killers then cry about that.

As long as they keep the high pitched squeak whenever you nail him with a pallet.

Title should be changed to - The way the game should be made more annoying to play

If you think BHVR created the survivor/killer roles merely to fulfill their vision for an asymmetrical horror game, you are mistaken. Survivors themselves are meant to represent the homogeneous masses who have no desire for individuation, mere lemmings who live boring lives. They may have a subconscious awareness that their lives are unfulfilling, but they will perpetuate their ways, never fully grasping higher realms of thought. Survivor mains are proof of the degenerate sheep who have no shame in being sheep, and BHVR has given them avatars to represent themselves in order to divide the masses and locate truly exceptional people: killer mains.
Unlike weak survivors who must congregate like chimps in order to achieve basic survival, killers are representative of elevated consciousness; they are beings who recognize that every moment the reality itself is testing them, and that there is no time to waste; the killer main must constantly reforge his identity and skills. "Survivor gameplay is boring and unrewarding"? It is, and those who choose to play it should experience it as such; however, the killer main pays no mind to the experiences of survivors. The wolf is not bothered by the musings of the sheep.
If you queue up survivor, know that you have already given up your individuality as forfeit.
Wolves don't live in their mom's basement.

@darktrix Do this but also make gens slower. :)
Make doing both less rewarding and more time consuming/risky ez fix to the pounding problem.
They already made hex totems risky (and those were supposed be a secondary objective), mess with my chests and I won't bother even participating in games.
Everything is already becoming more time consuming and risky with every update.
-
I mean look at the killers for what will happen. You see them migrate toward Nurse, Billy and Spirit. They might do other killers just because they need a change and the power is significantly different, but making advantages and disadvantages for survivors will most likely result in some survivors never getting played and other survivors becoming meta. And like someone said, it will be much easier to dodge certain survivors in lobby (by other survivors), which is probably why perks are not shown in pre-game among all survivors.
-
Probably for the same reason they made them significantly smaller - so killers can more easily find survivors and kill them.
-
So you want survivors to focus more on pounding out gens - got it.

@Science_Guy said:
If you aren't carrying your team, it's not "your team's" fault you're struggling. If your teammates are about the same competence as you, that also isn't a problem, that's how it should. It's not hard or impossible to survive or pip as a solo survivor if you yourself are actually consistently playing well. The average "bad" teammates are simply not so consistently terrible you don't have a fair shot at doing well.
If your team can't function with Ruin, then you need to find the totem yourself to help them out, or you need to be the one powering through gens and keeping the game moving. If your teammates are potatoes who can't run the killer for more than 10s, then you need to be the one taking the killer on a multi-gen run. None of this is impossible, and at the very least none of it would be any more fun if other people were doing it for you.
And let's face it, that's what all these complaints about bad teammates boils down to: not being able to rely on other people to win the game for you.
There is only so much suck one survivor can mitigate. Does no good to be able to knock out gens or loop the killer, if the killer has two brain cells and identifies you as good in a chase then proceeds to quickly kill the others out from under you, or forces you to save all the time. Or others just drop out due to suicides and DCs. Then it's just you and they can spend all day chasing you then, or let egc do the work.
It's not about 'rely on other people to win the game for you', that's just ignorant. It's more like 'rely on other people to do their fair share.'
And to the OP the something that needs to be done is join an swf. Least you can depend on consistency then.

And maybe when there are no survivors in range, you can sometimes hear 'Maaarrrcccooooo....'

I like to suffer in company.

But hey with her low terror radius often masked by the new non-directional lullaby, you can often just sneak up on survivors now and hit them point blank before they know you are there.

No, you can use a key while downed to open the hatch.
No you cannot use any items while downed - even a key.
-
You do lose pips now with a DC. Likely the person wanted to start another match and not stare at the floor for 4 minutes while two other people got to play.
-
Spirit Fury - -
Self Care - only for survivors who do not know that there is a time to use it and a time not to use it.
I love dying on my second hook while watching someone nearby who could make an easy save, but self caring was way more important to them.
Honorable mention - Deliverance when they wait for you to come across the map only to get themselves off the hook in your face.

I personally don't take playing survivor serious anymore. It's to frustating if you take it competetive as solo, my team mates always make me tilting. So I meme around, use head on etc and play around with the killer. Probably that's what people drive from playing survivor: the solo experience is just to frustating. Not because of the killer but more because of your team mates.
That's a good attitude on it - a lot of sweaty killers could use that as well.
-
I don't think it is a balance between survivor vs killer. It's the learning curve. While some people say survivor is relaxing and easy, they don't stop to think what goes into doing well as survivor which takes more time than many people are willing to give.
Here's a few items:
1) Need to know which gens are priority and when to do them so the killer is less likely to find you working on a gen and to avoid a three gen strat.
2) Need to hit those skills checks, often great skill checks under Ruin and deal with various perks (like Lullaby) and effects that can make that check more difficult, especially against Doctor.
3) Need to identify and be familiar each of over a dozen killers and know their strength, weakness, and power in order to have any effectiveness. What strange mechanic they may have that you need to counteract in order to not die or kill off the rest of the survivors.
4) Need to know how to last longer than 5 seconds in a chase.
5) Need to know how to mind game.
6) Need to know how to loop decently if the killer or map gives you no option to get away.
7) Need to know how to make hook saves without killing yourself or your save, especially basement saves. Number one rule of survivor should be to not get hooked in the basement.
8) When to heal when not to heal, especially while running self care.
9) How to counter bbq/chili along with whatever aura perks the killer is packing.
10) How to deal with tunnelers and campers.
11) Effectively searching for hex totems and dealing with NOED and or devour hope.
12) Develop a sense of what the killer is likely to do in order to counter play them effectively.
13) How to use your tools and add-ons most effectively. Also flashlight saves.
14) Body blocking effectively - when to do it and when not to do it.
15) How to deal with EGC when you are the last survivor. (Go in a corner and wait to die).
16) How to reduce or conceal your scratch marks.
17) Gain familiarity with maps - to know where the gens, pallets, and dead zones generally are in each one.
18) How to avoid leading a killer to other survivors giving them a chance at a snowball. (Stay away from unpopped gens and hooked survivors)
Throw on top of that if they are the one getting camped, tunneled, slugged and otherwise receiving general toxic behavior - I can see why it's a turn off to many new players.
-
'1000 huntresses but no nurse.'
Huntresses are currently enjoying their buff of having the lullaby feed misinformation to survivors so they can sneak up on them and 1-2 down them with a hatchet+m1 combo.
-
Yeah Rank 15 with tier 3 ruin and noed - of course it was ez, that's what most killers like.
ez games.
and then they are the first to cry survivors op when they meet serious opposition.
-
I'm pretty sure the majority of killers would still use it. They cannot find their backside without it, much less other survivors. Besides how else would they know that it is time to camp whenever they don't clearly see three other auras out there?
WGLF has only a BP bonus and survivors make fewer bloodpoints per match and there are supposedly way more survivors than killers - yet you rarely see it used.
-
Do they need to test being slugged for 4 minutes? I am pretty sure that works fine. If you want testing and the killer is doing the usual toxic behavior (which is wasting time and preventing useful testing) I don't see a problem with this.
-
They also punish those mistakes severely and good killers can push survivors to make mistakes. If survivors make no mistakes and killer still wins - there's 4x the players who wonder why the hell they are playing this game. Least with killer you have 4 sources of potential mistakes.

Deliverance is a useless perk anyway, don’t use it.
It does have its niche uses, such as when you combine it with DS, which then allows you to Kobe off hook and get 60s of protection, especially useful when killer is slugging for 4K so it gives you the chance to escape through hatch once they hook the slugged guy.
Otherwise 9/10 times your team mates save you. You don’t need deliverance. If you are being camped you got no hope anyway and the same goes for if all your team mates are playing immersed while you are on hook.
Rank reset as a solo - I'm taking deliverance. Use it all the time, unless someone looks like they can make a good save, then I let them save me. Really comes in handy when you get the misfortune of being hooked across the map alone or in the basement so you don't waste other people's time having to cross the map for you and you can be back in action on a gen immediately. Also when no one comes to save you or you just know the person coming for you also has the killer in tow - you know what I'm talking about.
That said I think switching the description to 'luck' would add even more confustion since no one knows what the hell it does anyway (usually nothing).
-
About 1 out of 5 games I have some fun, a healthy match with even skills and no outrageous items or offerings. The rest is an exercise in frustration seeing how well you can do against terrible odds. Guess that 1 out of 5 keeps me going, but the other 4 are really wearing me down.
-
Often I will play an evening of survivor only to wind up with the same rank/pip as when I started. At least I got shards...to buy...really nothing with...for it. Why am I doing this again?

True true, However, is that not a survivor issue not a killer matter. You do get the grunts when she draws and throws a hatchet. @darktrix in my honest opinion that is on you for getting hit.
You really should play vs. some of the best huntresses in the game.

So rank matters in discussions when buffs/nerfs are in play. However, any other time people claim ranks are meaningless? What add-ons are broken? Instant Down hatchets? You have instant tier ghostface what is the difference? Plague all game sick instant downs. Myers tier 3, nurse.
Last I knew they could not snipe you from across the map.

That just means the huntress herself will be able to hear the lullaby, another complaint from huntress players.

The hate has always been there. It just gets more or less attention depending on whatever fire is burning hottest right now - usually the newest killer.

For a second, my mind briefly imagined DBDMMO.
Where no one plays a survivor and everyone is nurse, billy, or spirit.
-
It's a terrible perk that just encourages tunneling anyway. It could be countered regardless if the obsession goes full immersed when they know they have it on them (cause they know they are going to get tunneled anyway).
-
I would not say it is useless, but perhaps close to it. I like the aura of the exit switches - I sometimes lose track, especially while being chased when they popped.
Still there are better choices. Wake-up with Resilience (and someone with leader nearby) would open gates really fast - if you were injured. If you are doing the EGC trying to stealth a gate, you could just open the gate for a few seconds before the light came on - wait for patrol to pass - then finish, and it would be just as effective as Wake-up while saving you a slot.
But Wake-up could use more benefit - it is an end game perk with very niche use.
-
The only thing I dislike about mori is that they nerf my chances at points and emblems - either by killing survivors prematurely to where other survivors can get no more altruism, or killing me which ends my trial wondering why I even bothered to play this round.
Mori are supposed to be kind of special. If you put them in base kit after you get mori'ed for the 1000th time, it's all like...meh. After all the time I have spent in this game, seeing a mori is still interesting.
