Then people say, "Just play for fun! That way you're always winning!" No. If I'm losing often, I'm not having fun.

How is your ability to slug and knock people down so fast OK? Why should it not be possible to get survivor objectives done fast if you can do the same? It’s not fair for survivors. How about you don’t have ebony Mori’s that rob survivors of playtime. Or they slow down hook timers so it’s not worth camping them anymore? You gotta think it needs to feel fair for survivors too
Survivors have a million ways to avoid all that. You make it sound as if pallets and loops and perks don't exist.
-
To me, it shouldn't even be possible to complete a gen in less than 60 seconds.
-
I like the gameplay style, and the challenge of a 1v4. But this game is so unfair and stressful for killer it makes me want to quit.
-
I feel it's a dumb excuse, but it benefits me, so sure why not.
-
Already?!

Translation: "I got outplayed for the majority of the match and still managed to get 3 kills. However, since it wasn't 4 kills the game is survivor sided. "
There are arguments that can be made saying the game is survivor sided. This isn't one of those arguments.
But he would have 4k'd and he didn't because of "hatch tech". Being robbed of 2 kills is not killer entitlement. The fact that so many killers complain about this and nothing has been done about it shows that the devs are survivor sided. If there's a game breaking bug or feature that hurts survivors, it's fixed within the month and bans are given out to killers who abuse it.
-
I didn't stop playing killer after the Ruin changes, but recently I just stopped trying at red ranks because it's unbearable without old Ruin. Now I'm slowly regressing to my 'true rank' survivor mains would say. It's not fun to go into each match knowing you'll have to sweat your ass off just to stand a chance against the power role survivors.
-
They're all survivor sided.
-
Her lunge out of blink is so pathetic. I played with her today and could hardly land any hits. She's a useless killer now.
-
I don't think killers brag when they win with that stuff. Survivors on the other hand...

If it's a bug, and it benefits survivors, that means I suspect it'll be fixed in approximately 18 months.
You're right on the mark with that one.

People should not shame on perks, they are there to be USED! as a killer I always use NOED :D
And don't let nobody tell you that you can't!

A corollary: If you shame me for using NOED, but I beat you before you did 5 gens, that means you lost to someone with 3 perks.
I did just that today.

I'd love to see the mental gymnastics someone comes up with to say that survivor is the more stressful role.

nah fam, i find it ridiculous to think that someone can get a 4k in 100% of their killer games (OP: "every time I play killer I get a merciless 4k") at red ranks. I cant get a 4k every time in my games, Streamers I watch who play this game at rank 1 cant get a 4k in every game they play. PS4 must be a ######### cakewalk if you can get a 4k in every game you play in.
Trust me, he's lying. If PC for killer is a bad dream, PS4 is a nightmare. Try DBD but with worse frame rate and a sensitivity lock.

Get a twitch channel called 4kKiller and show us all you are truly the best player ever and ALWAYS get a 4k! You'd be rich and famous in no time!
I know, right?! He must NEVER lose a game!

Killer is easy and the devs coddle the killers.
They never listen to survivors.
I think the devs make up all these posts of whiny killers complaining that it's hard because they want to keep the game easy for killers and with only survivors complaining they couldn't .
justify it. Lol
Im with you man
Every time I come the forums I sit here thinking
WHAT GAME ARE YOU PLAYING?!!?
Dbd is totally killer biased, the killer has a profound advantage. It's easy as hell
So much so that when I've hooked someone twice and down them, I let them go be healed and don't kill them unless I down them again.
Which I do
I never camp, never tunnel.
I don't hook anyone twice till everyone's hooked once. I don't kill till everyone's hooked twice.
I don't hook the same player twice in a row
I make sure everyone makes good BP.
I make the game as fun as I can for everyone but the killers are faster. They can't escape us.
It's not hard at all. It was at first but after a week, I figured it out and boom.
I have no idea why killers complain
You are talking out your ass.

@brokedownpalace said:
The Plague breaks pallets in the same amount of time as any other killer.
It seems slower. When I'm using Strength it doesn't even seem faster on pallets, just gens.
-
Or like how a mori prompt won't come up if the survivor is spinning.
-
Gen speed (too fast), gate opening times (too fast), and hatch (stupid mechanic).

I'm pretty sure he can.
Do you have to be facing a certain direction or what?

@gatsby said:
The practice of slugging the third person and waiting out the bleed out timer to try to ensure there's no hatch escape is completely killer sided and lacks counterplay.
The game won't end normally with two survivors left and all the options for the last survivor only appear after the third one is dead.
I think that doubling or tripling the bleed out timer when there are only two survivors left would do wonders because it actually puts pressure on the killer to hook instead of leaving them slugged. And it makes the game end faster when the killer holds the game hostage by waiting out the bleed out timer when the last two survivors are both are slugged
Hatch is so unfair though, especially with keys. "Can't beat this killer! Press a button and win!"

I don't think his speed is the issue. His harpoon is. Once a survivor is injured, the harpoon shot should down them, then you reel them in if you choose. I think that's all he really needs, and maybe slightly bigger hit boxes. I've seen some shots that damn sure should've connected, but didn't.
Yeah that's how I think that shooting them while injured should work as well. But even Huntress who does that has almost no pressure on gens. That and with old Ruin gone, he ain't gonna cut it.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
Don't you get a free down if they continue to sabo in your face?
No. That's why he's saying you need several stacks of STBFL or Mad Grit to do it. And then the hook gets sabotaged anyway.
-
I see no reason not to. The gens are flying, and so NOED is too.

Wow, it's that time already. According to the dev stream (thanks for the summary @Fibijean), the PTB will be here as soon as next week, which means we only have one weekend to guess... who is next?
The "rules" are simple; guess the new killer's "The" name before they're officially announced and win bragging rights until the next season. Feel free to choose the same guess as someone else, or pick multiple names, but just don't go through half the dictionary.
Now a quick nod to our previous winners, which was a lot of people last time around!

We don't have too much to go on for this chapter. Who knows, maybe there's also an obscure hint hidden in a corner of the game no one will ever check. But otherwise, we just have the teaser trailer this time:
The Killer.
-
I never get splinters anymore. Are they even on the bloodweb? Not that I want them.
-
It has so much counterplay. Which is something you can't say about Adrenaline.
-
I don't agree with that idea. Which is why I hate that killing survivors too fast black pips you guaranteed.
-
I'm with you. It should be an add-on that lets you start with all your traps.
-
I think we killers have endured enough. I used to play Friday the 13th all the time, but changed to DBD when I found out I could always be killer when I wanted, not leaving it up to a dice roll. Then, just like with F13th, I realized all the imperfections this game had. Don't let DBD be another Friday the 13th, BHVR, or I WILL move to a newer, more polished, and BALANCED game where my fun will not be limited by the incompetent dev team.

Okay, but you only got 3 chases in 5 gens, that's likely almost entirely your fault. I get 3 chases in like 2 minutes.
And what if 4 gens pop in those 2 minutes? You can't fool us with your "git good" attitude. Matches need to be longer, so more chases can happen. Why, as a killer, do I have play hit and run every single match to stand a chance against THE SURVIVORS?
-
You're looking at one.
-
Agreed. The grind takes an inconceivable amount of time. And that's just for killer OR survivor, not both.
-
False. Fix the gen times, not the killer. This magical amount of 'skill' required to stop gens from flying is non-existent. Without NOED, gen slow down perks, or camping/slugging you can't win.
-
And the only reason you don't see them all the time now is because they were all used up in every single match for months on end a while back.
-
@TheAntiSanta said:
Decreasing map size will help a bit, but without using slow down perks and add-ons, the gens will still pop too fast. Like, the Asymmetrical Aspect of the game, means no matter how well designed the maps are, you'll still find yourself in situations where you are interacting with one player, while three other players are hard at work on objectives, completely out of your control.
People will just do gens in your face. You can't chase them all.
-
Is this really still an argument? Having NOED does not make a killer skilless. Similar to old Ruin, it is used by many killers because we need to secure 12 hooks in 6 minutes or less, which is impossible. Even with gen slow down perks, the survivors really have to throw the match to not escape. Can you imagine how outraged survivors would be if you said "Adrenaline or Decisive Strike = skilless survivor"? The NOED hate is nothing but a double standard. Fix the gen speed so that killers aren't FORCED to use gen slow down perks and NOED just to win.
-
No way.
-
That's the most crutch thing ever.
-
I am not hearing this.

What?

I guess we can always hope for another gamechanging perk in the next update?
Perks aren't gonna cut it. If we're reliant on perks to slow down gens, we're still gonna be practically limited to 2 or 3 choice perks at best. Gen speed nerf is the only solution.

As a rank 1 P3 LVL 50 trapper main, are you sure you wanna give me more base build number of traps?
Yes, because right now you're forced to either have amazing traps but you're handicapped by 1 carrying capacity, or multiple traps but they suck.

People have it in their minds only swf can play optimally as survivor. Spoiler Alert: playing survivor doesn't require much info or awareness to be played properly. If you watch Ussylis you'd see how little the difference can be between the two. I personally enjoy facing swf as killer because I play more sweaty builds (slug billy, anti-heal GF, Trapper's basement) and I enjoy a bit of a challenge. Sadly, survivors at red ranks aren't as skilled as they used to be, even swf.
But there's no indicator that says they're SWF, so it's just a guessing game whether to be sweaty or chill.
-
I'm all for playing with friends. It's the intention that is the problem. SWF is abused to the point of, "Let's just gen rush the killer and always know where he is and coordinate Head-ons and flashlight saves." And with all that confidence comes breathing room for toxicity. It was never meant to be like that, but here we are.
