Just looked at some old clips and footstep audio is significantly clearer and more audible than today's footsteps. I feel like i barely hear survivors compared to a couple years ago.
It's been like that for a few years, as you've mentioned. I guess the devs want it to be a feature of the game. Imagine if other game developers got away with robbing players of one of their senses for basically no reason.

Wow, you lore riders are something else.

When I hit level 50 with someone I stop investing in them until they're pretty much dry and then prestige. I haven't gotten anyone to prestige 3 level 50 yet. This strategy saves me BP but I sometimes end up with limited perk pools especially on killers. What do you guys usually do?
I use all of them that I can, unless there's joke add-ons. If there's any significant offerings to be used like a ward or a secret, I'll use them even if I don't have add-ons. It just depends how I feel at the end of the day.

This would just upset killers more seeing how often they get stomped by a two man with two randoms lmao.
I don't care if I'd get more upset. I just want to know what I was up against, instead of guessing and never knowing for sure.

Play something else like Civilization, right?

They can't change achievements as easy on console. And that pretty much would guarantee killers a kill endgame with many killers. The hatch can stay and should stay. This coming from a killer main
I don't believe you. No killer main in their right mind thinks hatch is fair.

Actually the best way is to farm. i just drop the first one i catch at a gen while hitting it and they let me grab them.
If farming is the only way to complete this challenge, that kind of shows what's wrong with it, huh?
-
@MojoTheFabulous said:
Your best chance at this type of challenge is to tunnel someone and hope they jump into a locker to hit you with DS. Grabs have been busted for insanely long, I honestly can't see them ever being fixed.
And this isn't even a regular grab challenge. You have to "interrupt and grab" them, meaning grabs from lockers don't count.
-
@Zozzy said:
I doubt they even know grabs are broken. This would require a community manager or mod to relay the message to them.
It's been a well-known fact for years. They're playing dumb.
-
That's already encompassing 80% of the add-ons in this game.
-
@Sluzzy said:
Killers are not locking the hatch, he is just stomping his feet to close it. A key shouldn't be needed to open it.
The endgame collapse is way too killer sided.
It's not nearly killer sided enough. If hatch gets opened with a key, you have to close it or risk other survivors getting through it. But if you close it, all the gens are automatically done and the gates are powered. It's 2 objective shortcuts in one fell swoop.
-
@AliceSkies said:
I think keys are unfair and need to be reworked... but also I never have issues with it as killer. I just kill the person with the key or slug.
You're either super lucky or not red rank. Good teams will capitalize on you tunneling the key person. And killers being forced to slug as 'counterplay' kind of shows how strong the item is.
-
@Angelicus23 said:
my only issue with them is that killers literally can't counterplay them, survivors dont make any progress action and what's worse they can't get grabbed anymore it's ridiculous
That's multiple issues, but I get you.
-
You're only a bad person if you tunnel 1 person, camp them to death on their first hook, and do that every match.
-
@hardtimefun said:
you aren't sluzzy 🤔
You're right. 🙄
-
I was thinking more along the lines of making glyphs, at least for killers, a permanent thing, and if you interact with the glyph during the match, you get to keep your add-ons.

I do. And have no issues playing vs even good nurse players. You can make them miss, and I even told you how. Watch their blinks and double back towards them. Put objects between you and them. Break LOS, and they'll have plenty of issues. Especially if you go down in "half a gen" That's a YOU problem. There's VERY few god tier nurse users like SupaAlf where it doesn't matter what you do.
I do exactly that and it doesn't matter, so those godlike Nurses you speak of are not rare at all. There's more good Nurses than bad ones, even though people pretend it's the other way around.

It seems you think "stealth" is about doing nothing, forever. You couldn't be more wrong. Besides, if, as you claim, Nurse can't be looped, then why does it matter if you're having her chase you or not?
It's not doing nothing forever, but this scenario happens: I hear Nurse coming, I hide, she looks around, leaves, I get back on the gen. But then she fakes leaving and I'm out in the open, and get chased anyway. Or I manage to hide every time, and now me and 1 other survivor are the only ones alive and I haven't even been hooked yet, so now we lose.
It does matter if she does chase you. While hiding is more likely to keep you alive longer, it doesn't waste as much of her time as running from her. There's no looping her, simply running and hoping she downs you in 30 seconds instead of 20. Those few precious seconds give the other survivors time to gen rush, that is if they're not busy healing. If by some chance everyone else is on a gen while she gets her quick chases on you, y'all might be able to have 1 or 2 people escape that match.
-
Guys! Stop! Y'all are just spamming this same meme format!
-
In that case, I don't think this is a bug. I think that's how pallets should work normally. It only feels so lenient on the stuns right now because of all the times before where you would step back to avoid the stun and then still get stunned by the ridiculous pallet hitbox.
-

It sounds like you just need to get better. Even good nurse players are fairly easy to dodge. Try actually doubling back vs long blinks and putting objects between you and them.
Hahahaha! Whatever dude. "Good Nurse players are easy to dodge." Do you even play survivor?

Yeah, but you're not supposed to be able to juke any killer forever, and Nurse is one of those killers you'll never juke for super long if they're good. Most Nurse's are average at best, which makes them all slightly dealt with for a bit if you just break LoS and maintain distance.
You can still juke a Nurse far easier than you can juke a Huntress/Deathslinger, and at least a Nurse takes a bit more effort than most to get her hits. Most people just make excuses and are terrible at putting these things into practice, so they just scream OP.
I did say I shouldn't be able to juke her forever. She ignores walls and structures. But you've got it backwards. It is way easier to juke Deathslinger and Huntress than it is to juke a Nurse blink. Those ranged killers need line of sight. The Nurse can blink through whatever is blocking her line of sight, see you, and then blink a second time for a confirmed hit.

Basically Enduring Tier 4. You don't get stunned.
I have been noticing, especially since I was running a Nemesis/PWYF build recently, it seems hard to get stunned. Instead of swinging my weapon into a dropping pallet and getting stunned, it hits the pallet and I don't get a stun. Is that what y'all are talking about?

And had they said "Yeah, right, my opinion's changed" I'd have just deleted it. Like, I used to think Badham was one of the most balanced maps for both sides, and currently I'm well aware of the error of my ways.
But they didn't, implying that they believe both of those posts to be true, as well as this one, which isn't a changing opinion but is hypocrisy.
I want to keep my old discussions up because I want to see how my opinions have changed. If I delete it, it's gone forever and I can't remember what I said. If we can't remember our history, we're doomed to repeat it, right? You're distracting what could be an interesting discussion with, "But you said this on that post from way back when, so you can't say nothing."

Its not an exploit if it doesnt give an advantage.
It does give an advantage. You had to teach that Myers to get up there. For all we know, he may never have figured it out. And it's a case by case basis because with some terrain exploits, only the survivors could get up on a certain structure but not the killer.
-
@Orion said:

You literally just listed counters and then said you just don't like one of them.
They're not counters. If you're stealthing, you might as well not be in the match, because you're not being productive and you're not running the killer. And sure, I can be tricky with my movement, but after fooling a Nurse once with that because she was testing for my skill level, there's no guarantee she falls for it again. She'll just use her precise mouse movements to react perfectly, and be given a generous hit by the game as usual.
-
But a person's opinions can change, within a day even, especially if they were rage fueled words. I do not rank Huntress as a low tier anymore; I do not rank Legion higher than Deathslinger anymore. I do not bother to respond to every toxic message like I used to. So look at the discussion, what the author is trying to say in it, and take it for what it is.

How will it lead to less DCs? Top survivors going against nurse and spirit will probably DC a lot more
I think higher mmr survivors will be better players, and you don't become a better player by DCing just because you don't like the killer. I hate playing against Nurse, but I refuse to lower myself and DC like a rank 20.
-
Usually when survivors get a "nerf" it's really just a necessary balance update. MoM, instaheals, 60-second no deactivate conditions DS, no entity blocker, infinites, etc. Hillbilly? Did not need the overheat. Clown? Did not need exhaustion add-ons removed. Wraith? Did not need slower uncloak speed. And Trickster sucks, and was weaker on release than in the ptb despite our protests. A lot of killers in the game are unviable against even decent survivor teams. So there's a ways to go before killers are in the right place on the power scale.
-
Let's not go that route. This is a different discussion, different premise.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Is MMR really going to fix anything?
It will fix everything. Let's put it that way. We can get more accurate information on match results, equally skilled opponents, equally skilled teammates, less DCs, etc.
-
They could probably tie in the map remasters into the 5th anniversary. That would help.
-
Do gens, heal teammates, and loop the killer.
-
Terrific, terrific, terrific! Definitely a step in the right direction. More will probably need to be done though.
-
So what's the pallet bug? Are killers getting Enduring for free, or are they still teleporting to your side of the pallet?
-
My problem with Nurse is that I can't outloop her, even for a reasonable amount of time. Of course I'm not supposed to loop a killer for 5 gens, but I can't seem to loop a decent Nurse for half a gen on my best day. So what can I do? Hope that she misblinks by doubling back and being inconsistent with my movement, or hiding which I detest. She doesn't have any REAL counters, unlike every other killer in the game.
-
@TripleSteal said:
I disagree. In my opinion, you are blaming your lack of competence on game mechanics.
The share of matches that actually show you why M1 killers are bad against competent 5k+ hrs/each SWFs/comp teams is less than 1 in 100 trials you enter (due to current MM state). That's not often enough to make up for such an elaborated complaint.
It can't always be the killer's fault. I know y'all like to chalk it up to that, regardless of the op saying "I'm rank 1 killer every season" or not, but it can't always be that they're just bad. There are 2 or 3 killers played in tournament, meaning every other killer is unviable. Those are tourneys, but they reflect what happens in the regular game when the strongest killers vs the strongest survivors: the killer usually loses.

I mean its not really an exploit if anyone can walk up it and it actually helps the killer instead of me since it makes the pallet there non existant, sure if I sat up there Tbagging where he cant hit me but I showed him how to get up there lol.
It's an exploit if you're not supposed to be up there, whether the killer can do it too or not.

Honestly I don't get why it's in his kit at all. It's such a dumb and boring thing.
Like you have purple addons that make his knives shatter into pieces, or bounce off everything, you had clear potential for cool mechanics there to be part of his base kit and make them fun and rewarding and balanced......but instead HURR KNIVES GO BRRRRR.......
Idk it's disappointing.
I also hate the sounds. They sound so crappy, like they are made of glass.
With how little he has already, I don't think removing Main Event entirely is a good idea, but instead they should make it so it's usable.

I don't go to the DBD reddit. I just hang around these forums. So I wouldn't know. But now because I've watched Scott's vid, I do know that "reddit killer" is just a cheap name-call, and a baseless one at that. Maybe I just don't like Scott's energy or something, but I do increasingly agree with his opinions.

That's how it works right now.
A survivor must fully complete reveal action in one take and only one survivor can do it at a time.
To be honest I see no problem in such approach to the power that can LITERALLY be canceled by STARING.
Well I do see a problem because you're telling me that 4 survivors looking at him won't reveal him unless they go all the way to 100% revealing him? What a joke. This happens, too. I'll hear the reveal music get to 99% and then oh, my character covered 15% of his body for 0.3 seconds: start all over and get fully exposed because the killer got undeserved extra stealth mode time! It's not stupid that survivors break him out by looking at him because that's exactly what Ghost Face and Myers do: stare at you to get instadowns. That's all it takes. And it's why Myers has less counterplay than Ghost Face, because you can't break him out and he can use his ability to instadown multiple people at a time, including the ones who didn't feed him that power. So they're both annoying, inconsistent, polarizing stealth killers.

A guy in a 4-man SWF, potentially stream sniping, calls me terrible after 3 escape (narrowly) while I'm Pyramid Head, "one of the best killers" apparently, and my Ruin gets broken in the first minute or two on Rotten Fields. He even said I was "about to get stomped" before we even started the match. When that level of confidence exists, one side has too much power over the other. Take notes, devs.
