I find this very irritating and then what makes it even more irritating is when the survivor keeps running back to the corner of the map just to make sure I can't hook her. I feel like hooks should respawn quicker because this is annoying.
If it's the last survivor, just let them bleed out. There, problem solved. You didn't have to make this thread

just remove the speed boost and its all gucci

Can't believe people are even saying yes. Deathslinger was easy to play against before the nerf. Completely unnecessary.
you must've been facing some potato slingers then lol. he was no way "easy to play against", trust me, I've steamrolled so many games with him pre-nerf to the point that it felt a bit unfair. but yeah, the nerf to him was a bit excessive IMO. It would've been better to nerf his quickscope and keep the small TR.

As for the worst patch - based on what I read, probably has to be when Legion first came out. man's killed survivors just by moonwalking it's hilarious

Nothing will ever beat the tragedy that was "stuns in animation locks count as saving a survivor from yohr grasp"
I still have nightmares about that one
I really didn't understand the uproar from the killer mains at that time, flashlight saving has always been easy to do, wasn't it?
IIRC, insta-blinds were already gone by that time, and the timing for flashlight saving has always been the same since then. I've gotten better at flashlight saving so maybe my opinion is a bit blurred.

Not even playing Devils Advocate here, but I legit wouldn't mind if the timer paused while in active chase after the other changes go through. Alternatively, for being slugged on the ground, maybe the timer would pause within terror radius. I dunno. Something to give slugged Survivors a bit of a bone. Maybe tack on another 10 seconds if downed while DS is active instead of the TR thing.
I have been on the receiving end of a Killer slugging me and waiting out the DS while others were basically circling around, trying to get their attention. DS isn't always a deterrent. Obviously, those teammates SHOULD have been working gens and not doing their best vulture impersonations, but I still feel for the sluggy that gets watched by a Killer for a minute while waiting out the DS.
Are there any upcoming changes to Decisive Strike? And yes, I completely agree with you, it really should pause when in a chase. If a killer tunnels you and takes more than 60 seconds to down you due to poor decision making, it feels a bit useless to have this perk in the first place.
-
I don't have him as a killer primarily because I'd feel guilty if I bought him, but he seems very map-dependent (I guess like most killers these days). The grave of glenvale is where my team usually gets rekt by him due to absence of safe pallets, even killer's shack isn't that safe. But maps like The Game, he'd be lucky to even get 4 hooks by the end of the game.

can't win em all man, also why is there an ace hater here, he's my main ;'(

I wish there was a ui element that showed the reamaining totems in the match. Feel like that would balance out the argument of "cleanse bones" when most people solo q.
thats a great idea tbh, swf already have a totem counter so solos should have one as well

its only a bit too powerful on blight and nurse, but other than that, nah not really

In a game environment where gens need 80s, 47s or 38s to be done when there is/are respectively 1, 2 or 3 survivors working on them, survivors clearly don't need to be good loopers.
From my experience, if a trial lasts around 12 minutes or more, average survivors will loose most of the trials, only really good survivors would win.
But fact is trials are lasting 8 to 10 minutes top at high MMR. The game design (gens speed, pallets, windows, semi-infinite, DH, Lithe, hit boost etc...) allows the survivors to do all gens without the need to have any skill.
Only survivors that would fall down in 20 seconds cannot win a trial. Any survivor pre-dropping pallets, holding W and not failing skill checks is good enough to win most trials against all killers beside Nurse. And when you face great survivors, your trials end up with 2 hooks, they all escape.
That's the way it is.
With such a state, at high MMR, 1 hit down should be the normality.
In L4D1, survivors were so strong that all the changes below have been made to balance the game at high level :
- no more T2 weapon (all auto weapons removed, only standard pump-shotgun + uzi)
- no more medkit and no more pills hidden on the map, only 1 pills box/survivors at the start of the round
- 1 tank on every map, random spawns
- no more molotov nor pipe bomb
- Hunter pounce deadstop disabled, you had to one shot them mid-air to prevent a pounce
All those changes came step by step with the level of the community increasing. First everyone played the CEVO mode (1 tank per map) then it was Frustian (CEVO + medkit at start, only pills on the map, only T1 weapons) and then Rotoblin mode (Frustian + pills only at start).
And the game was greatly balanced at high level in Rotoblin mode only.
BHVR should also balance their game depending the MMR level (less pallets, less windows, slower gens, some perks disabled etc...).
Less pallets eh? *cries in shelter woods*

I know old freddy's much weaker than his current state, but I miss being invisible and able to sneak up on them...

Lucky Break. Obviously it was 90 seconds in its original buffed incarnation, and the drop to 45 likely killed it even if it's quite good now at 60. Maybe it's rather map-dependent, but being able to effortlessly lose the killer after that first hit is really strong, especially if you bring a medkit and heal yourself up afterwards so that you still have more Lucky Break to burn the next time you get hit. But I never see anyone run it.
I'm not complaining, though - I'm blind as hell and rely on scratchmarks and sound to track.
bring inner strength with lucky break, so that you'll be able to get 2-4 proc value from it :)

We know this isn't true. We have Nurse, Huntress, Blight, Oni, etc... They are strong and don't receive a lot of hate.
lol bro, nurse is busted

does anyone else get a slight headache from the macro flashlight?

There's a reason why people make fun of console blights, its frustratingly hard. Yes, I've plugged in a controller on my pc to test it out and it was awful. Not saying this to discourage you, but its understandable that you'd have issues with blight in console.

As a killer main, I have never wanted to give up on this game until now. I wont, but I really want to.
Killer is not fun anymore, survivors have their wins almost given to them on a silver platter. Currently every game I play now is so dull and boring, it's pre drop after pre drop after pre drop with no mind games, no looping, nothing. Just pre drop and hold w. And considering the killer I main is Billy, who already isn't the strongest, this hurts him even more.
At this point for a killer to win, ie get a 3 or 4k, you have to play in scummy ways, by either tunneling someone out of the game, camping, or slugging everyone. Which isn't fun. The worst part is even the scummy strategies aren't even that viable anymore with the release of boons and new perks. You know how hard it is to slug when COH is up? COH almost eliminates all snowball potential by itself. Holding W is already the strongest thing you can do, so now the devs are making it worse by releasing overcome, which gives you 40s of pure free distance. If you commit to that chase, unless you're Nurse or Blight, you will lose the game then and there.
Not to mention the terrible map design, big maps are bad maps, and the devs seem to want to releases big map after big map, the new map is huge, which isn't what the game needs.
Accompany this with the meta of dead hard, bt, ds, coh, the killer has so little to utilize in their favor.
I've only actively gotten mad at this game today, I have never gotten this angry in my 4 years of playing this game.
This game needs some changes, fast, we need
- Better map design
- A boon change (For example, make it where if you snuff a boon you destroy the totem, limiting the use of a boon to 5 times and making players try to utilize them less frequently but more impactfully)
- A overhaul to the overcome perk entirely
- Making holding W not as strong and/or give us killers who aren't effected as strongly by it
no need to be angry at a video game my man, chill

where are you getting this bro lol, whats the point of swf if theres no comms kek

I did get bored around the year 2017 and only came back because I heard about the RE chapter being in the game. So basically it took me a 4 year hiatus to get back to it haha

i guess for some killers who rely on sloppy butcher would find it overwhelming. personally if it were nerfed , the best nerf would be for it to have a cooldown, maybe 30s. hexes and boons are not the same so it shouldnt receive a drastic nerf to the point where the 4 meta perks would be in 99% of lobbies again.
-
if a survivor can get there, why wouldn't a killer as well? if they used dead hard to get there, you can just lunge as its the same distance as dead hard. also this is a very killer sided map, you should be happy if they brought an offering for it heh
-
Pay attention to the killer's pattern during a chase, if he likes to double-back/moonwalking at an L-T wall, be prepared to react fast.
If the killer constantly tries to mindgame, leave the tile and watch the killer hilariously mindgame themselves and you'll make a ton of distance.
Of course, they could always fake the double-back, so you just have to sometimes pray you win the 50/50.
i don't recommend you to try to spin the killer if you're still new, just learn how to run tiles by watching some vids in yt.
p.s. Holding W is also quite effective and wastes at least 30s of their time. Do this if there aren't many pallets left or you're in a deadzone.

I'm almost certain that someone in BHVR absolutely despises this Killer because holy ######### almost every single update since they have come out has screwed them over in some way, especially with boon totems. As if COH wasn't bad enough the new boon totem that is unbreakable for everyone within its radius is going to completely ruin the Twins. Unless they receive a buff or even better yet a rework they might just become the first Killer in DBD to not be played at all.
why they gotta make charlotte such a ugly lass, no wonder no one wants to play as her

there's always complaints about survivors in this forum when really they're only complaining about SWF while soloq survivors get shafted due to their whining

you're gonna have to pm sluzzy this question my man

i guess the reason why this thread isn't pinned is because they don't want to lose players even for a short while. "players are our utmost importance" LUL

So... how are survivor getting flashlight saves when picking up then?
I can't look away fast enough.
if you have lightborn, you have 2 seconds to look away and avoid the blind
heres a vid that's 2 years ago but still relevant i feel

Apart from picking up a survivor. Which is where most flashlight saves are made.
it takes 3 seconds for the pickup animation to end.
-
it's an outdated perk where the counter to it a few years ago was bringing odd bulb + intense halogen to make blinding faster. personally i think it has no place in the game right now considering how weak flashlights are right now. iirc, with lightborn, it takes 5 seconds to blind, and there aren't any animation lock that lasts that long.
-
Seems like out of all the forums for DBD, only this forum has let me know about this security breach. Even the subreddit barely has any talk on this topic. It's as if majority of people just don't care about potentially having their router fried or worse, their information geting leaked and used against them.
-
but just to clarify, this doxxing issue can only be caused by players currently in your match, right?
-
ah crap, looks like i'll have to stop playing until the fix comes by, pretty sure there'll be random killer/survivors who gets pissed at me for maining blight and flashbang/headon/blastmine build. urgh.

Now Artist will run the same boring gen regression perks every game: Ruin, Undying, Corrupt, Deadlock, maybe Tinkerer.
Tell me: are you one of those that thinks Hoarder/Franklins in OP on Pinhead?
idk never faced pinhead in my game so cant tell ya

Well of course killers can’t have a build variety. That would just be illegal.
i feel like having bird lady and pre-nerf thrill of the hunt would be the total opposite of 'variety' my dude, legit every bird lady mains will run that, me included ;p

lucky break+overcome+iron will ( or play Ace, in that case, pick any perk you like) + botany knowledge with fast medkits, and you'll be able to save lucky break and lose chase 100% of the time

Honestly if the game map was to be gone forever I'd be happy. This map is just a joke at high mmr, like as if it wasnt hard enough on normal maps against good loopers and optimal people on gens... why we have to add 20odd safe pallets that have no mindgame as a basic attack killer...
Edit: just gonna go afk if I get this map multiple times a day or I'm not feeling it. I'll humour it once, but that's it. Absolute joke you expect me to do as well on this than other maps so I'm gonna save myself the impossible task, save the hassle and avoid the mass amount of toxicity for struggling on it.
just main doctor on this map, but be warned, it will take you at least an hour to achieve your goal of winning...

Lmao no. We don't need anymore 110 killers, especially with the survivor meta being to run away instead of lopping.
with so many new killers being specifically anti-looping, can you blame them?
-
Oh cool, thanks. a lot of the killers in my games are paranoid as hell and its kinda hard to position yourself with flashlight saving with infectious.

@zedalert said:
I can tell I've played all of the 4vs1 (or 5+vs1) survival games and know what lobby looks like in them, but only in Dead by Daylight survivors are completely blind to the killer account before the match starts.
It's ok survivors don't see what killer has been chosen by the player. It's ok, the game hides killer's perks and add-ons until the end of the game, but to be honest for me it's completely useless, since you need only 1-2 minute from the start of the match to determine all of the perks killer is using if you're playing in a team.
But why did you decide to hide the killer account/nickname? It's not fair for others, the killer can fully examine you before the match (and leave the lobby without penalty of course), or be very toxic to you because in the previous match you've survived or played like a pro. For example, for the last few weeks I see half of the killers have VACs and ingame bans, and they fully deserve it since they were playing very toxic and suspected hacking during the match.
I'm not asking you why your Easy Anti-Cheat engine blind to private cheats everyone can obtain for a few bucks. I'm not asking you why your support is so slow to respond and your ingame reporting system looks like it's not working. I'm asking you why you are not letting us be a second shield against these players? If I see a player with a fresh account, 30 hours of DbD and 100% of achievements I don't want to play with him. If I see a player with a VAC/ingame ban I don't want to play with him. If I see a player with a good Steam account and 2000 hours of DbD I want to play with him since it's a true challenge.
lol then everyone would dodge nurse/spirit/blight, i do wish that they would hide the survivors' items though...
-
but she's like... kinda icky i mean look at the rotten flesh on her legs ew
-
oh, you mean the killer's name, i would love to see the killer's name just to avoid a boring facecamping lobby
-
iron will is something to complain about? maybe for spirit but really, just follow scratch marks and blood pools and a lil bit of your brain cells
