No difference, just like spirit, and deathslinger with M&A.
edit: i take back what i said about deathslinger, he's so sluggish now. spirit... well at least it's no longer as cheap as before to use her.
-
when the nerf was announced there was a huge cry about it, but legit, nothing has changed hahaha
-
yeah she's still ridiculously powerful, audio cue doesn't mean anything if she moves at the speed of light. guess you just gotta camp pallets against her and hope your earphones arent put on backwards

Oops, the survivor is running iron will (very rare and never used perk btw /s), guess you are the one guessing where they are now.
spirit literally plays the same, its only directional audio and the kick up dust effect that was promised by the devs wasn't even implemented. what are you on about "gutted" smh
-
people who make these posts usually come back to the game after a day or so haha
-
whatever happened to the kick up dust the devs wanted to implement? they got cold feet on that one?
-
the nerf isnt even a big one get a hold of yourself man
edit: reading patch notes is not enough to give an opinion i'm dumb

You said there was no apparent reason. And now the reason is so apparent that I am sarcastically being compared to Sherlock. Such a sudden shift in tone...
lol my bad, but cmon, to me, a killer camping at 5 gens seems more like they wanna ruin the guy's day rather than win. but if the other survivors throw themselves to the hook then i guess thats one reason...
-
the only killers that you absolutely have to genrush are spirit/nurse/blight, and yet some of the players who main these three killers still complain about genrushing... hmm

The reason is to secure the kill as fast as possible. It makes the rest of the game much easier. Trust.

Well maybe if you didn't swarm the hook the second the guy gets hooked, the killer would have a reason to step away from the hook. Seriously that guy can marinate on the hook for like 15 seconds and still be on first hook state. Give the killer some room to breathe.
that's not at all camping if survivors were nearby and the killer knows it. but i've had way too many games where the killer would just stare at the first guy they downed at 5 gens for no apparent reason - that's camping and it needs to be penalized. i really don't care that the killer had a terrible game previously or if their real lives suck, ruining the game for a consumer is just bad business for bhvr.
-
@Eeni said:
I can not count the number of times killers have hung around camping players preventing other survivors from helping, knocking everyone down & leaving us to bleed out, and other BS.
If I DC, I get penalized. Why can’t killers also get penalized for their bad behavior?
i seriously don't understand why the killers play like this, is it not boring? i always question what happened to them before the match, good god

@GannTM said:
I certainly will. I find him pretty rewarding to play at times but it felt awful before because of how add on reliant he is was. Now I can feel like I have a variety to use when he gets buffed which I’m super excited for.
Anyone else going to consider playing him more when his buff comes?
probably not, i find his playstyle incredibly boring, but it does feel good to have them step on your traps tho

its kinda true though...? killers are faster than survivors so yes eventually running in a straight line will be futile. whatchu nitpickin about?

just play nurse/spirit, easy 12 hooks 5 gens ;p

They messed up his collisions with the Pinhead patch. You can still hug tech, but it's finnicky. The problem is that say you wanna hug tech shack, so you hug the door frame, then you slide past the doorframe, as you'd expect, BUT you then collide with some random piece of detritus along the wall itself. That's where Blight has been feeling the worst for me. I try to slide past an object. I prepare for a pre-turn and then BAM, i hit the wall I was trying to slide along and my camera spins 58 times because I use 4k dpi.
They also added collision to a lot of small objects that protrude from certain walls. For instance farm's butter shack used to be buttery smooth and glorious. But now, the cloth that hangs from the ceiling and a few other things like wood planks have enough collision, that Blight will bump on them.
It feels horrendous for me, and I have avoided playing Blight like the plague because it's infuriating. I heard that apparently they made his primary collision way more sensitive that it should be. I heard this from a Blight main waaay better than me, that tries to talk to devs as much as he can. He said, we should treat this as a bug since it wasn't in the patch notes. I am praying that he is right and that it gets fixed. I cannot be bothered relearning Blight for like the 4rth time.
aw damn. he's seriously the most fun i've had in dbd and knowing that is a bit discouraging since i haven't had a chance to play around shack yet (just bought blight yesterday). fingers crossed for the fix 🤞

@NekoTorvic said:
Use your ability as much as possible. The more you get comfortable with it, the more you'll realize that his power can do a lot on a lot of loops. If you're getting frustrated though, play some M1 and use your ability to catch up. You don't wanna potentially burn yourself out on a killer that can be very fun and very powerful.
Don't use addons that mess with your muscle memory. Speed addons, slam duration addons or turn rate addons should be left for when you have a better grasp on how his core power functions. (I personally use Blighted rat and canker thorn when I wanna use filler addons, but rat is a speed addon so be careful).
Blight's collisions were changed AGAIN when pinhead was released. He is very very sticky. He collides very easily with things you would easily slide on before. This has made him extremely frustrating for me to play him because I was used to using his slidyness to my advantage. This is just to let you know that 1: Blight might change again, because BHVR seemingly cannot decide how they want him to function, and 2: You should be weary of hugging things too tightly cuz you might bump into them and if you're turning, you might spin in place and disorient yourself.
Swamp has terrible collisions for him, they seem very inconsistent. In general you will have to take note of what you collide with and how, and you'll slowly build up a repertoire of how to use your ability more effectively.
Whenever you're locked on to a survivor, catching up for that hit and the survivor tries to wiggle or spin, you should wait until your character is physically touching the survivor and very quickly react and swing in the direction of the survivor. Your hitbox is super wide at the beginning of your rush swing, so the survivor won't be able to juke you. This is called a "Shoulder Flick"
Also, if you flick 45 degrees as you're gonna slam onto something you can basically slam with your shoulder while looking in a different direction. This can help you keep track of survivors in a chase instead of having to look into the object you wanna collide with and then move the camera to see the survivor again. This is called a "Shoulder bump"
You have 1.25 seconds of slam duration at base. Use that time to observe what the survivor is doing. Don't be too quick to rush or you'll open yourself up to make mistakes.
Since, you're playing on a controller, it might be useful to raise the sensitivity to max and get used to it. Obviously this is more personal, though, so if you try it and get frustrated because you can't control the higher sens, it's fine. But going for turns and flicks is a lot harder with lower sensitivity.
The best build on him seems to be Ruin, Tinkerer, Undying, Pop, maybe swap one of them for BBQ. My personal favorite build is Enduring, Infectious, BBQ, Tinkerer + Blighted Crow and Alchemist ring. But I hate gen perks, I use tinkerer for the info so I can get into chases.
Is it a lot harder to hug tech right now or has it been the same? Looking down at a certain angle of the wall allows you to slide along, but for me it's inconsistent.. i hope it's my lack of skill and not actually blight having terrible bugs
-
@Shroompy said:
Blight used to be broken, if you had an insane DPI you were able to go beyond the look angle limit while rushing, this was fixed a while ago. Nowadays there are 2 techs that are present and commonly used by experienced Blights
Z-Flick
Hug Tech
Z-Flicks kind of achieve the same thing as J-Flicks, but theyre not nearly as insane(You cant pull off 180's). Just look as far to the side as possible while rushing, you can bind the look left/right to Q and E to make this easier, and then as you lunge flick.
Hug techs are rushing directly into an object without coliding with it, kind of like how Billy can. Difference here is Blight can do it on any surface.
Essentially you need to start a Lethal Rush while directly looking at a wall. Doing so will just make you slide off to the side and throws off survivors pretty well
thank you for the tips! I tried using 6000 dpi with 100% in game sens and i could literally not hit anyone lol, i guess that means i gotta lift the mouse more with lower dpi
hug techs are still a bit weird to me, i know that you have to look down, however you also have to face a certain angle of the wall, not directly at it right?

I'm pretty much always matching against 1500+ hour players who are likely playing as a group and the game is just impossible to win, lol.
They don't have to be crazy good at loops, they just need information/coordination and enough awareness to press m1 on a gen when someone else is in a chase. I've just had a game where I regressed the first two gens to nearly 0 with ruin and had them instantly drop the pallet on 3 jungle gyms and killer shack. Sadly it still doesn't matter since I have 3 gens left by my second hook and 1 gen at 90% by my fourth hook.
And that's assuming an extremely lucky start where the ruin totem isn't just cleansed in the first 20 seconds of the game since totems have had the same spawn locations for 4 years now.
Then there exist maps like haddonfield where going into the bunker is legit declaring to throw the game or the meat factory where there are 150 pallets 145 of which are not mindgameable. But it's "balanced" I guess because baby survivors take 17 minutes to find gens in indoor maps right
It's like I start the game to q and get amazed at the 0.5 second queue time as killer and then it takes one game to realize why and that the joke is on me for still playing killer instead of just going over to survivor and chilling in 15 minute queues
yep, always a 4 man squad being toxic in my case, really don't understand why they act like this.

@Jerek said:
No. Camping is a, while scummy, but viable killer strategy. Survivors have more than enough perks to help remedy this like camaraderie, kindred, borrowed time, and several others.
And in the end the killer is giving up so much generator pressure just to maybe secure 1 kill. Besides the devs did at one point have a system where if the killer was very close to a hooked survivor the time would pause. Of course you can imagine that survivors did abuse the heck out of this and was quickly removed.
It does suck when it happens to you, but you can't forcibly change the way everyone plays constantly. It's just part of the game.
the "more than enough perks" doesn't apply to bubba.

I am one of those people who love to try unconventional builds and one of my previous favorites for solo survivor is built to last, streetwise, resilience, and fast track with a purple toolbox yellow durability addon, and brown durability addon. This build is really really good its one of those builds where you never hear about it and only a little people know about it, while it is very very not useful in chases you can pretty much pump out generators with this build.
Now imagine this build with a team full of people using it, with the new buffed built to last making toolboxes last even longer. Did I even mention that streetwise stacks, so if everyone brought streetwise you could basically make a purple toolbox last an entire generator and a half a generator?
I love this perk combo, but I am worried that this is going to get out of hand fast, I don't want this build to be ruined, but at the same time, I do think that it's not a good thing to make built to last so much better.
keys are already nerfed, making 3 gen strat incredibly powerful and the survivors, helpless. not every survivor queues are swf.

With that in mind, we’ve made the following changes:
- You can no longer shoot until you have fully aimed down sights
- Increased the delay after cancelling your shot before you can start a Basic Attack
- Decreased movement speed penalty while aiming down sights
I agree with alot of the upcoming changes in the upcoming update, but nerfing deathslinger without giving him any compensation is not the way to go. RIPslinger :(

It is an amazing perk. I do not leave without it if even one player has a flashlight. That might be a little extreme, I know more people believe it is practical to run it when you see 2 or 3 instead. But I promise you, the amount of time they waste trying to flash you is severely underrated. It is important to pretend you do not have it, by the way. Still face walls, still turn so they do not flash at pallet breaks, still tilt your head up when they go for it raw. This will keep them trying, and when the moment is right, you can reveal you had it the entire time and get a free down.
Another point to mention is that boosted flashlight players often run flashbangs and blast mine. Immunity to flash is nice, and blast mine, you still get stunned... BUT it reveals whoever planted it who is usually hiding in a dark corner nearby. You can also use it as a miniature "all ears" to mind game at jungle gyms where you can see exactly where they were going if they tried to flash you at a pallet.
Just think about the type of player that runs flashlights. Seriously, just think about it. How they waste time trying to go for saves, how they want your attention. How they rely on it at loops, especially with iron will. And none of that matters. You basically derank them. If you were facing a full red rank swf, and they all have flashlights, all of a sudden you are facing a full purple rank swf. Word up.
I STRONGLY recommend putting it on your build as it will get more value in that match than most of what you are running anyways unless you are going full meta. Only if you see a flashlight, obviously. But remember, they can still get them out of chests. And who knows what kind of subtle hacks people have to increase blind effectiveness. I became one with the light after someone got a full 90 degree save on me while I was facing a wall. At that moment, I said, "never again."
I don't know about you, but I'd rather have bbq&chili than lightborn. most of the time when i down survivors, im always right next to a wall or i could fake pickup, hit em, have them run away and pick the downed guy up
-
OP is talking about those who spams the clicky clicky sound on the flashlight, not him/her getting blinded, so you fellas tellin him to equip lightborn are hmm....

You're kidding right?
It takes literal minutes to down good survivors with any killer that isn't Nurse, current Spirit, and Blight (map dependent). The only way you can even compete is if you tunnel or camp right off the bat, and even then, the win isn't guaranteed.
amazing. every word of what you just said is wrong. i recommend you to get better and maybe try to watch killer streamers like otzdarva to learn how to get 4ks for pretty much every killer.

So using a character is abusing them? Guys it’s against the rules to play your favorite killer, oh my you’re so toxic if you do.
you gotta relax man, i know you're a spirit main from reading your many posts in this forum stating your concern for the nerfs, but she'll probably just end up like nurse - still viable against good survivors but with finally some reliable counter-play.
look at it this way, imagine you were playing dbd a few years ago, and they announced BNP was about to get nerfed to the point of it being useless (like it is now), and the survivors in every game you had were equipping this. wouldn't you get annoyed because the survivors brought bnp in every single game, no matter how much you dodged?
hopefully you'd understand my concern and not making a snide remark like that in the future.

"Abuse" ??? They're just playing a character that is in the game lol
i recall killer mains complaining about survivors "abusing" Decisive Strike or Borrowed Time way back when it wasn't nerfed to the dirt (i think some of them are still complaining about these perks in its current state lol). so from what you said, when the announcement for the nerfs for DS and BT came about, you could say the survivors are just using the perks that are in the game, yes? so why should the killers get concerned?
My point is, announcing nerfs like this to survivors/killers really just bring undesired behaviour in the game. I wasn't around when iri head was announced to be nerfed, but i read that a lot of huntresses were rocking this addon with the belt in every game, which would ruin the game for a week or so.
-
I've played dbd since late 2016 or 2017 until mid 2018, had a 3 year hiatus, and found out that a lot of things have been nerfed on the survivor side, which I am a bit displeased with but unfortunately, it would be outdated to discuss this.
Look, if you ever played dbd during its early years, stealth was decent without needing perks, and you could've actually gotten away from the chase, but now, there are so many killer perks/addons that sees your aura (such as the addon for nemesis being able to see survivors getting vaccine from chest, or discordance, hangman's trick, i'm all ears, etc.) to the point where the only way to get away from the chase is by having the killer give up on you by wasting their time as much as possible. but even then, that's dependent on the killer - a spirit can end a chase in under a minute most of the time, gunslingers can just quickscope you, blight with their weird j flicks, and in some cases, with the right addons, wraith.
so just let survivors have iron will in its current state, please?
-

you gotta relax man, i've seen ur posts, the nerf isn't even that heavy, they just finally added a reliable counterplay against bluebutt. anyway, the word 'abuse' in multiplayer communities doesn't have a strict definition, but it's more towards overplaying bluebutt.
i wasn't around when the decisive strike perk got nerfed to the ground - surely the survivors would also abuse that perk too right? and you, as a killer main, would get annoyed by it, wouldn't you? and that's because of an announcement, so you should be able to understand my concern

Y'all say this EVERY TIME and it never works out well. The ONLY Killer to survivor a true add-on pass was Huntress.
Nurse was completely DESTROYED. New players can't even learn her now. Only veterans adjusted and still destroy. Calling it now. Her range add-on will get TRASHED and to add a cherry on top, her bugs will remain so it'll be yet another NERF. Recharge add-on will get yet another slight nerf.
Billy was labeled as the "perfect balance" and was still BODIED by nerfs. All they had to do was make his add-on NOT STACK... THAT'S IT. INSTEAD, they killed his BASEKIT with a charge bar, they nerfed pretty much everything on him, and ruined his FOV/animations.
Freddy... Completely bodied. They made it to where his add-on are complete garbage on top of kit nerfs with nothing to compensate.
Legion was bodied SEVERAL times.
PH was made significantly weaker. He's playable, but as always survivors just HAVE to control the chase with him too. Removed ability to see cages because of whining... Yet again.
And so on. Wraith was FINALLY made playable WITHOUT add-on recently and in his upcoming add-on pass, there will be nothing but nerfs to his add-on.
Trapper should've gotten these "buffs" YEARS ago as the mascot of the game. Still, added stupid downsides to some of his perks. Survivors should be downed for stepping in a trap, especially of already injured.
Hag will definitely get killed in the add-on pass. Her perks are actually PERFECT. She doesn't need an addon pass.
Myers will get nerfs to tombstone piece & tuft. The troll lerys build may also get destroyed.
Oni is definitely getting add-on NERFED.
Spirit already taking a HUGE nerf and to add a cherry on top her add-ons will get killed completely or get stupid downsides that make them a waste of time. We SEE how the STUPID teleport back to husk add-on will work. Nobody uses that TRASH on Nurse.
So predictable from BHVR.
chill bro, nurse is still pretty good lol

If you know it is terrible atm for you on dbd then why play it when you know you will get disconnected and get a penalty?
It destroys your fun and get annoyed by it, but that goes for the 4 other people in the match as well.
Why not play a different game in the meantime while they're fixing the problem?
Yes i know you like this game very much, but is the frustration worth it and for the people in the match when you get disconnected again and again and again, etc?
Also i wasn't only talking about you, i was taking in general and there are many people with terrible internet.
Secondly, i agree with bhvr very, very, very, very, very rarely.
So no i never defend them when they screw up, which they do a lot.
Again this isn't only about you, I'm taking in general ✌️
alright, sorry for accusing you of defending bhvr, was just annoyed by the constant dcs, i think i may have solved it now, but im not sure yet

I also had this issue. Try rolling back your driver, delete everything related to dead by daylight (even the config file in appdata), reinstall, verify game cache, set graphics to low (my resolution is still at 100% no auto adjust), and delete everything in your launch options. So far i've had 10 games no dc.

You should read a little bit further before saying something 😉
I also said, if it is indeed the internet connection then you got 2 choices.
1 stop playing online games with penalties.
2 jeep playing online games with penalties and accept them without crying about it.
If you know your connection is not stable and it keeps kicking you out of the matches but you decide to continue to try, then you should accept the penalty that comes with it as well.
It is impossible to check for this game (and every other game) if you disconnect on purpose or that it is a internet issue.
You can fake a "accidental" easily when it not goes your way which the system can't know.
Therefore you will always get a penalty for a dc, no matter it was your fault or not.
I'm not assuming anything here mate, I'm just asking it.
Because everyone can say it is not their fault even thought they do dc on purpose.
the two choices that you presented are terrible and it seems like you are defending bhvr's screwup. i literally stated that after the latest update this whole thing started to happen, meaning BEFORE the update, i had no issues whatsoever. my connection is stable for all games except for dbd now. thank lord i didnt buy all the chapters, game keeps getting worse every update. again, you are lucky that it did not affect you.
-
@Dennis_van_eijk said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/280683/internet-disconnects-then-penalty
Well then you should have had many, many dc to get a 6hr ban.
You sure it was really your internet connection mate?
Also if you have terrible internet connection, then maybe you should be looking at fixing that first or don't play 9nline games if you don't want to suffer the consequences
stop assuming dcs are intentional please, if you havent had any disconnect issues, then you're one of the lucky ones. server im playing is based in asia and i've gathered up to 1 hour ban because of the latest update causing me to randomly dc..
-
Judging by the number of complaints about this issue, they really should disable dc penalty for a short while to sort this out.. it's unplayable because i fear the inevitable disconnect more than the killer lmao
