I'm sorry, but have you ever played Spirit with MDR? Do you know how difficult is to track people when you move at +40% speed? You need to be a bat to hit healthy and
iron will players. If people juke you rightly you will be punished A LOT.if you're having trouble, pair MDR and dried cherry blossom and you're good to go :)

It's an iri add on that is supposed to help the killer? Why does it need a big downside?
Where's the big downside of BNP or Syringe add ons exactly?
BNP and Syringe are pathetic addons man. styptic agent and commodious toolbox + 2 charges or 1 charge + 30% repair speed are where its at 😌

In a fight against trying to figure out what perks and killers to use against boon users to balance the matches, I have found out that hag and plague work the best as these two focus to deal damage while ignoring heal.
But there is another option I first did not consider that some of you might want to try out. Just max out your perks with Hex perks. Hex totems can not be blessed with Boon, so all you have to do is pick the best Hex build you can come up with for your favorite killer you like to play and the problem is solved.
Yes, I understand that this will limit your playstyle a lot and render you perkless in case your hexes get cleansed early on or mid-game, but it is way better than having to deal with boon-healing perk I have come to notice. I am actually now enjoying playing Killer again, even if just a little.
i dont know about hag, but plague is definitely a hard counter against boons

How so? I certainly have not seen the option available to me nor have I seen anyone booning totems when running full hex build.
yes your hexes can get replaced by boons lol, it'll just take 24 seconds instead of 14 to bless it

Just wondering if its me or does everyone have the same experience?
I have not seen 1 single hatch escape in my survivor and killer games the past 10 days.
was fun sneaking together with randoms to find hatch. but there are too many times where randoms have just straight up abandoned me, sooo i kinda like the change ig

@TragicSolitude said:
Most of my matches go: I bless a totem. A survivor runs the killer to it. The killer snuffs it. The survivor cleanses the dull totem.
I even had a survivor purposefully get me killed because the killer didn't seem to understand snuffing the boon totem (no, I'm not making an assumption, the survivor kept pointing at the hook as the killer carried me, and then they immediately ran to the boon totem rather than unhook me). As soon as I died, the survivor cleansed the now-dull totem.
If killers can destroy totems, then survivors need to lose the ability to cleanse dulls, in which case NOED has to be completely reworked. As of right now, with survivors being able to cleanse totems, totems are an extremely limited resource.
Also, when the survivor dies, if their boon totem is still standing, it should crumble to dust; no, you can't get me killed just so you can cleanse it.
I've read that some extreme killer mains play survivor for the sole purpose of ruining their team's game by doing immature stuff like this.. it's sad

More and more people dropping the game because of this 1 sided thing.

Na. Folks either have good aim. Or they don't. He still functions mostly all the same. The TR was the real nerf. Aiming feels mostly the same.
agreed, with DS now, all you need is good preaim. if you're unsure if you're gonna land the shot, just ADS and wait for them to come right back into your crosshair

How was he unhealthy? Because he had SOME control in chase over the survivors, in exchange for very little map presence? Is he at fault when survivors give him a free option select at a window, or keep trying to juke his shots when he's not shooting? The delay on the zoom in and the increased terror radius gives players literally no reason to play him over Huntress. Trickster's probably more powerful than him at this point. I was enjoying him so much before his nerf, too. Shots that I could land before, I can't now. Now he has to be played like Huntress, where if you try to quickscope you're gonna miss, but if the survivors dodge and weave you have to wait for them to come directly into your sight, and that's bit gonna happen if they're playing smart and hugging loops to avoid los. This was truly a change which was catered towards survivors who were sub-casual.
stop trying to play him like before then. you gotta pre aim and predict the survivors movement now.

I don't see any other possibility to have a winning chance in this game anymore.
3 gen strat gets broken by Prove Thyself / Built to Last Toolbox in less than 50 seconds.
Hooking more than 2 different survivors will get me nothing when the gens pop up in 5 minutes. Split damage, hit n run is dumpstered by Circle of Healing. Mass slugging never works because someone always has Unbreakable, and survivors can reset under CoH in 10 seconds. Dead Hard robbing me of precious seconds, DS/BT respect.
I started running Noed on every m1 killer, Pop/Corrupt always mandatory. Cant run BBQ simply because i have no time to traverse a map to find a survivor i havent hooked yet. It feels like killers have less and less options to be viable in this game.
Im really glad that they nerfed keys, but god damn i feel like playing killer is getting worse over time. Seriously, CoH was a mistake. BHVR should tone it down a bit, but also do something with base gen regression. Things like 5% regression apply when the generator is kicked, and base regression is increased by 50%. Small careful changes that will make killers life a little easier. Mangled with its 20% slowdown is outdated, when all new survivor healing perks have 100% increasement.
Im afraid that if BHVR keeps this trend of giving overbuffed perks for survivors, the only killers left in this game will be 3 blink Nurses with Noed and 3 slowdowns.
what killer are you maining? i know dbd isn't a conventional competitive like fighting games, but there's been an established tier list of killers. trapper is still pretty pathetic even after the buff for example.

Blight is totally broken.
Half the time he will slide against an object instead of bouncing even though you look straight at the object.
And yes, Blight cannot do 90 degrees turns properly anymore.
Blight is unplayable at high MMR, you won't be able to win any trial.
And community saying he is a tier S killer... of course lol
Against good survivors he is just a garbage tier F M1 killer. No wonder you will never face a Blight at high MMR. It has been weeks i haven't seen a single Blight.
I guess he's more map dependent than other killers.

It's definitely too strong and needs a tone down.
The thing is, when do you reckon it'll get nerfed? I wanna know how long I have to play plague for before it becomes a non game breaking perk.
Issue is that it's most probably an old MoM situation where due to the survivor releasing on their own, there's not much reason to buy the chapter, so they make 1 perk incredibly strong to make people buy it.
I give it 2 weeks.
so you prefer having the same stale meta perks for survivors instead of something new? ok

The realistic approach imo is make it like Pyramid Head's cage, swap Survivors to a different hook randomly. This keeps the game active and every player on their toes.
agreed completely, tho i dont think the hook should move during egc since killers don't really have any other objectives at that point

This is why I respect billies over bubbas anyday.
bubba's gameplay has got to be the most mindless one out of all killers. it's just, hold w to get close to survivor and m2 for a potential instadown or a fast pallet break. with billy though, in high mmr, you're gonna have to learn how to curve around a loop without bumping into any objects standing out. so yeah, hillbilly is definitely a more respectable killer.
the fact that there's even a guide on youtube on how to use bubba is absolutely disturbing

As the title says, when the devs choose to balance this game for casuals with barely 100 hours in the game it just allows Survivor mains to be even more toxic towards Killers because lets face it their objective is way easier than Killers and Killers just get shafted near enough every patch.
You get these Survivor mains who genuinely think they are gods gift to the game but stick them on any other multiplayer you will find they are wither insanely low rank or they just get destroyed and rage every game. DbD is the only game they got going for them where they get a victory 85% of the time.
Logging into DbD I had a Trickster daily, to my luck on RNG I get put on Haddonfield, already off to a bad start. I end up downing these guys very quickly but it didn't matter because gens fly and the map is horrifically balanced even when I was playing well. On 7 hooks surprise surprise all the gens get done and I manage to secure 8, rather good for Trickster on Haddonfield.
As you'd expect, end game chat these guys had the biggest inflated egos imaginable saying how I'm the trash one, I should get good, I should learn to play etc. So I said, lets have a rematch to which point I'd play a killer who could definitely compete against these guys, I could already down them quickly with a trash killer so a viable one who can gen pressure should realistically be rather simple to go against with. Do you think these guys accepted? Of course they didn't instead they went off with their egos even more which also means they are unsportsmanlike. In a fighter you don't just say you are better than someone because you beat them once, you have rematches. All bark no bite with these guys and they will just keep doing it over and over again playing their little bully simulator.
I really do not understand why the devs choose to balance their game for people like this just to allow them to create even more bigger egos. I guarantee you if this game was even remotely balanced in a way where all Killers have a chance to compete without gen defence a lot of these Survivor mains who think they are gods gift would probably get bricked on most matches because they have no real skill in the game, they just get carried by bad game design.
not that hard to understand. survivors make up the majority of the playerbase so you shouldnt be surprised.
-
who cares?
-
@Kurri said:
No they don't, you just need to get better at the game.
A good survivor is impossible to down, they have all the resources in game to survive. Use them. The game used to be designed that you would get caught at some point, now it's designed that if you know what you are doing as Survivor you are immune. There is no excuse.
I'm pretty sure you got that backwards lol, refer to gameplay in the year 2016-2018, survivors were literal gods and killers were their plaything

You’re using an iridescent and purple add on to justify her difficulty. That’s not really fair tbh, because we might as well say Blight is easy because he has Alchemists Ring + Compound Thirty-Three.
Okay... well, Blight is my main killer and while those 2 addons can be strong, you still need to be able to hit 90/180 degree flicks, deal with hug tech inconsistencies sometimes, make note of which objects are slidable, etc. So all these things that a blight need to do, I feel it takes more effort than a spirit. Perhaps you can see now why I say Spirit is definitely one of the easier top tier killers.

Easy to use??? Omg can we please let that go already, she’s harder to use now.
I said relatively easy when compared to blight and billy as she shares similar speed to them with the ring addon. with a trusty pair of headphones and combining ring with dried cherry blossom addon, getting downs with her is a walk in the park as she'd only have to listen for footsteps, trigger killer instinct, and M1 omegalunge.

We've made good strides recently with changes to Wraith and Deathslinger, making them more fun to face. It got me thinking about other killers with problematic gameplay and what we could potentially do to remedy them.
Any suggestions?
I know he's not B tier but I think Trapper could use some tweaking. I don't find him to be OP by any means, however it's simply not fun getting caught in traps that are hard to see, and constantly keeping a look out for traps in general is tedious. This is exacerbated by his recent buffs, and perhaps we should start looking into ways of making him more fun
I feel that the "nerf" to wraith wasn't that big of a deal, shaving off 0.25 seconds to his post-uncloak speed didn't really have an impact on getting hits when i play as him
-
some of the replies here shows that they're the type who just look at the headlines of a news article. i never said to nerf her basekit, i only mentioned that her addon, mother-daughter ring, is a bit too powerful on an already relatively easy to use killer. with the ring you can say that she moves as fast as blight and hillbilly, but the difference between her and them is that blight and hillbilly actually takes skill to use, making it not seem as cheap.
-
Her basekit phasing speed is 176% which is already faster than Wraith. Adding the ring 40% speed increase which makes her nearly as fast as blight/hillbilly just seems a bit overkill, especially as these 2 killers need a lot of skill in curving their hits. Granted, its an ultra rare addon, but that isn't a compelling argument as ultra rares aren't really that... rare when you spend millions of bloodpoints on the killer you main. Again I would like to reiterate - her basekit is fine now, just her addons seem problematic.
-
@dallasmedicbag said:
The Spirit deserved every bit of nerf handed to her, and so she's not as cheap to use as before (why it took a year for them to fix her, i don't know). However, her addons are still disgustingly overpowered in my opinion. A common addon combo I encounter from Spirit players at reasonably high MMR is the purple amulet and ring (25% speed increase with 3.5s longer phase) and purple cherry blossom with the ring (40% speed increase with killer instinct triggering at 4m).
With the latter, it is pretty much impossible to escape from a chase when she can just phase for a few seconds and catch up to you, and you'll definitely be nowhere near a pallet. Retracing steps to mindgame scratchmarks won't even matter, and walking/crouching is just silly as the Spirit moves 4 and 5 times greater with the ring respectively, thus killer's instinct would instantly trigger anyway (4m is a pretty big deal).
What do you think? Her basekit seems fine and fair now, no more easy 4ks with minimal effort, but these addons... they pretty much negate the nerf to her. Here's a video representing what I'm saying:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwETFQiAeHw
p.s. I strongly believe the devs should change the difficulty label on her, she is most definitely not "hard" to play when compared to blight and nurse. maybe intermediate if I'm generous.

-
corrupt imo is a waste of a perk slot.. i prefer discordance
-
its possible but obviously harder. sometimes i play solo survivor and i cringe at this forum when they want more things of survivors to be nerfed, for example, the medkit. Like legit i read somewhere that someone suggested 32 seconds for the syringe to heal and can only be triggered if the medkit is full? lmao might as well turn that syringe into a brown addon.
solo queue survivor in my experience, killers are always stronger and will always get at least 2k. a lot of the complaints from some of the killer mains here are mostly to do with swf, and it just hurts the solo survivor if bhvr listens imo.

@Crowman said:

There wasn't an issue with quickscoping. Being hit by the chain itself did no damage. It was possible for survivors to avoid going down to a Deathslinger by using the environment to help break the chain. The idea that quick scoping was uncounterable is dumb.
It would be like saying Trapper's traps are uncounterable, because walking into the trap gave the survivor no chance to avoid being hit the trap.
while i do agree that quickscoping with slinger pre-nerf was fun as hell, your point on "using the environment to help" doesn't really work as DS can just walk backwards and pull the survivor 2x faster. environment can only help if you are far enough from the slinger maybe 24m and above.
also that trapper analogy made no sense to me, maybe there's a better example?

I actually love when they all bring flashlights. Because you know they will try to save their down friend so you can bait it and kill them easier.
what i did recently with my friends was have 4 of us equip flashlights, and when someone gets downed, we just stay on the gens. even better if someone gets downed in an open space, and the killer wastes like a minute or two being super paranoid of flashlights hahah. psychological warfare at its finest
-
@Junylar said:
As a killer:
- If I play wraith and see flashlights in the lobby
- If I see flashlights and don't feel like using Lightborn
- If I see a lot of medkits
- If I see a lot of toolboxes
- If I see a key
- If I see a clear SWF with similar nicknames and/or characters
- If I see a legacy skin, meaning it's likely to be a cheater
- If I see a an RPD or Haddonfield offering
As a survivor:
- If I see more than one console player in the lobby
- If I see an RPD offering
- If I see a mori offering and don't feel like feeding a troll
so you dodge 99% of lobbies? i know it's your choice and all but you're just wasting your own time as well as several others by doing that. in all of my killer games, items are always in play so there's really no point in dodging..
