Old nurse~at base= SWF Comms AT BEST
The add ons had to go, the base nerf just kills the killer for new players, vets will still almost always get that 4K because her mechanics are the same.
I guess most people won't care as they mostly play survivor, but this will be the beginning of the end for any emerging nurse players and it sucks because she has one of the most fun powers in the game. I'll still play her and fail and think to myself to those old days where a man could just be a man and smack an ass every now and then, instead of being forced into beta male strategy syndrome. "oh, I am so sorry my survivor friends, I mean not to hurt you while you do this gen, would you like me to wipe your ass while I am in your game?"
Even veteran players will struggle to do anywhere near the same with the changes. Everyone in favor of them acts like they aren't huge but you're cutting over 50% of her usual time blinking and substituting it with the slowest walk speed for killers. There is no way to weasel the wording even the best Nurse in game took a huge hit. To do the same amount of progress in a match now is at least 3 seconds x blinks per game harder and slower than it was before, which adds up to a lot over the course of the match.
-
The changes they did to Spirit were actually slight changes and they didn't gut what made her fun to play. She still has her map and chase pressure, but they removed an element of it that was seen as mostly unenjoyable. I don't think there are too many people complaining about her base kit changes, they were fairly well done.
Nurse however, lost map and chase pressure, and all the fun elements of her kit. No one enjoys being the slowest killer in the game for upwards of ~40% of the match when you used to use your power for everything. It feels bad and it feels like it was designed by people who have never played her, only against her.

maybe we can format the feedback suggestion like this and pray?
I was thinking about this but I doubt it would do much.
My guess is they're responding to it because Legion has been a huge mess for so long and it looks good to say "we'll send this over." Will these ever amount to real change? Maybe. Probably not.
With Nurse not only is it way more recent but also way less problematic in scale since she can still function (very poorly.) There just aren't enough people for them to care and it wasn't nearly the mess Legion was/has been so yeah, I'm prepared to do a long wait if it ever even happens at this point.

I've made the suggestion that the cool down be activated on swings, hit or miss, instead of blinking and the length would be determind by how many chain blinks you made for the hit.

I don't know how I could of put it any better than that. I don't believe they will revert the basekit changes. What I can hope for is a better implementation with the Devs goals in mind.
As she stands now, the cool down is breaking up chases and removing any excitement from them.
Another good suggestion. Too bad it'll be ignored :(

It seems really good to me so far. Based on what's in the descriptions and what's gone;
No more passive terror radius buildup, that means no tracking just for existing at the start of the game. Survivors can react better to get into a locker when they hear the terror radius without being on a guaranteed 5 second timer before they tier up.
No more "modes," you can zap, and you can attack. That's WAY more user friendly. That also means no more slowing yourself every chase just to build up the stalling aspect of your power which is a really small stall anyway. Also, no grabs by spamming M1 in treatment mode while facecamping. It also means his zap-stun into an M1 is a much more fluid combination as you don't need to wait for a mode switch to swing, and hope they haven't recovered or just run away while you're slow.
The "Static Blast" is a cooldown based TR-wide attack to shock all survivors nearby, allowing a better controlled buildup that's likely to actually tier people up, rather than the slow passive TR effect on everyone nearby that you aren't in a chase with, even if you know they're there. The cooldown sounds fine, as I'm assuming you can still use his default zap in the meantime.
Overall he sounds much healthier. He's more fluid for the killer player and less cumbersome, and he can actually build up tier 3 on multiple people more reliably to stall people he's not currently in a chase with. On the survivor side, you have better options to avoid gaining madness by getting in a locker at the start and not needing to stay until the terror radius is gone. His calm add ons will also amplify the terror radius when a blast is coming so you can react, as they increase TR ONLY when the blast is off cooldown.
Really this sounds like an excellent rework that addresses most of the issues I have with him from both the killer and survivor sides.
That does sound much more fluid but my question is why are they able to make someone like Doctor fluid but they completely remove the fluidity from Nurse making her the exact opposite of fluid.

I think the whole point of the changes were to control having such an over powered character, that's limitless in where she can go (except for a max range) by giving her an increased cool down. Which makes perfect sense, it was either that or kill her power by doing something silly like reducing the max range or maybe reducing her lunge after a teleport.
Ultimately what it comes down to is the fact that her power by it's very design, is literally gamebreaking so it's very hard to balance and more importantly to keep balanced as the game progresses.
Ok I will just throw this one out there since it's really basic and it encapsulates this idea pretty well.
A power bar that is drained from while charging blinks. It holds enough for almost infite 1 blinks, but double blinks draw from it and cap at like ~3 double blinks in a row max. This gives control over your power and rewards you for using it effeciently. Currently Nurse doesn't reward you for using your power wisely, it just doesn't punish you as hard for using it when you really should be (moving around, etc...)
Another one: Give her 3~4 blinks in reserve that recharge slower so there is more upfront but less overtime. This still awards smart blinks but still lets you use them for everything like they were intended to be.
Current Nurse changes do not reward smart blinks or using them effciently it just doesn't punish you as much for walking around like an m1 killer.

But Nurse is still very strong?
Who wants to play a killer that is littered with negative feedback.
Also Freddy is statistically stronger than Nurse so, pay2win is technically correct now.

God I remember when the counter to this used to be Nurse was free.
What have we done.

Yeah I agree, no doubt that she requires you to play differently.
However, it wasn't like spirit where you have to loop differently but there are safe areas i.e. behind a wall, above her etc. There was no safe area with nurse (still isn't tbh), hence why the nerf was definitely justified.
Nurse is basically the same killer at base, you will eventually catch up to a survivor if all they are doing is running straight (tried and tested), the only difference is that you can't do it instantly like you once could? I don't see how you can say she's generic now and wasn't before when her core fundamentals haven't changed at all lol
EDIT: nevermind, I just saw the nurse profile picture now it makes sense why you think the changes are unjustified.
Yes you could catch up quickly but it took skill to do. There is no amount of random blinking and charging of those blinks you can do that will get you free hits. You have to plan and execute them with thought. Now you're punished for using them in any other way except for trying to get a direct hit.
When I was playing it felt like I was just a slightly better Demogorgon. The shred and her teleport are essentially the same now. You have to m1 walk around until a good oppurtunity shows itself then use your lunge power to get a hit. Nurse just has a much better version of it. This is not like old Nurse, where your power was in every aspect of your kit and you were rewarded for using it wisely. Now you're almost forced to save 1 blink just in case and wait until you have a perfect blink to attack oterhwise you waste your time trying to catch up way more than you used to. It just feels off, it feels jnaky, it feels unfun and unrewarding, all around bad.

@LlamaArmour said:
Nurse was stupid before the nerf, this just brought her back down to reality tbh.
How can people complain about her having a cooldown on a power that allows her to literally bypass any defence the survivor has? Doesn't matter if you're on another floor, behind a wall, behind a pallet, she can still reach you... And people think that she was okay?
People say things like "she's less fun", and "her base kit didn't need changing"... Well obviously she isn't as fun because now she's not as broken, and I disagree that her base kit didn't need changing. It was too easy to play her considering how powerful she was.
The only reason people cry now is because it got harder to excel with her (rightfully so with how powerful she is); but she's still easily the best killer in the game.
It's almost like eventually they would have to add a new mechanic on a killer that bypasses the normal interactions of the game. They just happened to do it really early on.
All her power did was change the way in which survivors must play to have an optimal chance at escaping. All it required you to do was learn how to fake running back or around corners and learning how to weave through the map instead of just running around in circles around pallets ad infinitum.
But my biggest point is that eventually they will release another killer like Nurse that ignores pallets/walls and it will just cement the fact that you can't expect to run the same way against every killer. That kills the variety in gameplay and who enjoys running around L-walls 8 times for the juicy pallet. Now the changes to Nurse turned her unique survivor gameplay into THE MOST GENERIC possible version of running in a straight line across the map. That is so braindead easy and simple it honestly boggles my mind that BHVR thinks this is acceptable counterplay for a killer.
-
Regardless of whether she needed a nerf or not there were and still are far better ways to implement it that respects and maintains what made Nurse fun to begin with while also toning her down.
The changes we got not only took a bat to her kneecaps, it also shot and gunned down the fun aspect in her kit.
-
Don't expect a fix.
We have so many more actual game-breaking bugs and it's clear they're not concerned with Nurse atm so yeah. Rejoice.

"This is because that statistic includes all platforms. Nurse on console is very very difficult to play, and you have a 95% chance to be playing a baby Nurse. On Xbox, I can literally count on 1 hand the number of Nurse's that are good enough to maximize her potential, and let me tell you that 99% of survivors do not stand a chance against them"
And I can count on one hand the number of console Nurses that exist. The number of console Nurses in general has always been statistically insignificant. Her killrate was one of the best before the rework, and even before the rework Nurse was a joke of a killer on console because of all the constraints on console that held her back (constraints that PCs do not have).
"Fact is she is still the best killer in the game on console, it's just harder to get that good with her. So all the baby Nurse's bring down the average. Devs have said that if you just look at PC her killrate is comparable to Freddy/Spirit even after the update."
First of all, no they have not said that. Peanits said her killrate is "climbing back up every day" but that does not mean it is comparable to Spirit or Freddy. For all we know, she could have gone from 65 to like 66 and that's what they consider progress or she could have a 90% killrate at this point (I doubt that any killer, even old vanilla hot off the release Nurse despite how broken she was). But the devs did not say her killrate is comparable to Freddy or Spirit.
Second of all, she is not even the best killer in the game on PC anymore, so how is she supposed to be the best on console when she was never really good on console? Spirit took over red ranks after the Nurse rework. Do you think the Spirit nerfs are gonna magically throw Nurse back to the #1 spot? Bc I promise you that Freddy is taking over red ranks if the Spirit nerfs hurt her as badly as some profess them to. Nurse statistically isn't even in the top 5 for killers anymore. Saying she is #1 is asinine.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/892356#Comment_892356
This is what I have been saying ever since I started playing DBD. Nurse was a perfect example of a healthy killer because she was viable without addons. It was only when her addons came into play that she became a problematic killer. But that wasn't because she didn't need addons in the first place, that was bc her addons had disgustingly overpowered combinations.
Addons should not be mandatory for killers to function, especially when their parallel, items, are not mandatory for survivors to function. BHVR had something good with Nurse basekit and ran it into the ground bc they can't see past their blinders of "survivors are crying and saying they won't play the game anymore if killers get to be strong."
@copperslyI know @CrowFoxy and myself were very adamant against these changes dating back to their arrival on the PTB and If I'm not mistake any posts the two of us made were flat out ignored. The devs only started responding to posts when survivors started whining about instaheals taking a hit.
makes ya wonder who they really care more about. To any dev reading this post, Why did it take only 2 survivors bitching to finally get your guys' attention but pages upon pages of killers against a change isn't worthy of anything?
I'm surprised the devs don't understand the frustration Nurse mains are feeling rn. We got lied to and ignored every step of the way through this rework. At this point I feel like I'm torturing myself by playing Nurse but I'm still playing her. It feels like ######### for the devs to do something like this.
I don't give a ######### if Nurse is the worst killer in the game. I really don't. I've always maintained that if Nurse is fun, I don't care where she is on the tier list. But the fact of the matter is that she isn't fun. And the reason she is bad is also why she isn't fun. Her identity of being a power intensive killer got stripped from her and nothing was granted to her as any kind of compensation. Now she's a messy bedsheet of a killer.
@Weederick @thesuicidefox @Helevetin_nopee If any of you 3 played Nurse for longer than the time it takes to do your dailies with ur lvl 1 prestige 0 Nurse, you'd understand the frustration Nurse mains have. But you don't. That's okay, but stop acting like you know more than you do. Bc those of us that do know what we're talking about are insulted by the lack of an intellectual argument in favor of these changes.
I thought of her as the perfect killer in design as well. The diverse and unique use of her power in all parts of her gameplay, her strength that required a lot of skill, and her counterplay also requiring skill. It all felt like the model for the game to follow :(
I wish those in opposition to fixing new Nurse would at least you intelligent arguments :/ Too many times the "blink spam" and "free wins" arguments with no basis at all are flung in post after post gaining no substance each time.

That’s why I said take out the sprint burst instead but leave stagger reduction. I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree Bc it’s not even about being 4v1 or 1v1 but a bigger thing that just seems like complete bs Bc you’re completely unable to do anything about being staggered and sometimes you have to jump. It feels about as good as when survivors could blind you in pick up animation.
There are very few maps and even fewer spots on those maps that lead to drop only areas. Taking this into account; most of the time you have the choice of where to run during a chase and if you choose to run to those areas or are even just herded there you have no one else to blame for the stagger hit but yourself. If this was in a lot of maps in a lot of places I could see your point, but there just aren't enough places where this can be an issue currently.
And a big difference between the flashlight blind saves and stagger hits is choice. You can usually choose to avoid the falls but killers can't really choose where to down someone. They can choose to risk the pick-up but then the survivor can crawl to an even better spot, etc... The point is you have much more choice as a survivor over the stagger hits than you do flashlight blinds.

Nope, no foreshadowing. We would make a proper announcement if changes were on the way rather than subtly hinting at it.

That seems like a strange statement from your position. Not that I think it needs changing tbh, but I'm left confused at what we're supposed to do with that statement.

So today I played quite a good chunk of killer matches (no i didnt put people in the basement). I had the joy of playing nurse on the new map. You know what? I have more fun with any of the other killers even legion is more enjoyable and clown is too.
I believed that changing nurse would lead to more variety in red ranks and overall much healthier gameplay for everyone. Turns out there is even less variety, nothing new is coming for survivors and killers who actually do need help like legion get even more bizarre changes that do nothing.
Correct me if I am wrong but with the stats released prior to the last ones, the horrible bad console nurses were not significant enough in their amount of being played to drag the overall stats for the nurse down, how come this is possible now? Also to me it is simply not fun to play nurse anymore.
Also tell me why there are double standards? How come optimal 4man swf team is fine because most people just do wanna goof around with their friends. Why not treat both the same way? Most nurse are garbage and baby nurses who just wanna do dailies.
Exactly!!!
I made a thread about it too asking if they were going to do ANYTHING about SWF or even have plans to do something. Silence on both of these questions.
At this point SWF has been a problem for so long it might as well be another test of a killer; their patience.

I’ve dreamed about that, but that would almost be like BHVR making a DbD 2, which is never going to happen.
I wish they would though. They could even go the extra step and make killers more unique through power augmentations instead of addons (think paladins cards, OW2 PvE, etc...), or so much more they could do. I'm sure we can all list like a million ideas we'd love to see, there is no shortage of content or creativity for DbD2 just money, time, and will.
-
I feel like it might be less to do with their efforts on fixing bugs and more with the shackled engine they're using. We know there is bound to be lots of spaghetti code and at this point legacy code they are using. If they just start a fresh version from the ground up with all they know now and have planned maybe it would be less buggy, and worth the wait.

Accurate. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the Doctor. His power is fun to use in some ways, but I think it could be a lot better to play as and against.
Currently, Madness 1 and Madness 2 feel like they hardly have any real effect on survivors without add-ons, apart from screaming. The hallucinations obviously don't fool anyone, and the random skillchecks become less and less useful as you play against more experienced survivors. But the random skillchecks are also really annoying when I play against the Doctor. So it's competitively weak and really annoying to play against; to me, as a Doctor main, that sounds like a mechanic which should be removed.
I'm hoping they make Madness 2 more threatening, and make Treatment mode a little more interesting/less awkward to use.
I was hoping to see what they would do for Nurse and her addons.
Careful what you wish for :(

I think the flashlight stuns and pallet stun timers are bs too if you want me to be real honest about it. I’m not playing tit for tat. I want them to fix the maps, Bc getting hit Bc a killer doesn’t have stagger and you do is complete bs and literally the only reason the perk was worth running.
That's where we differ. I don't view it as bs. The killer is in a 1v4 situation, there are going to be things they do better than survivors. It HAS to be this way otherwise we just get bully squads running around. The whole point of perks is running some to enhance your strengths or bolster what you perceive as weaknesses. The old BL did both at the same time with literally no downside and was miles ahead better than other exhaustion perks except for DH.

To me it sounds like what the did for freddy. You get on ability you can use whenever you want (shock therapie) and one that goes on cooldown (statik blast)
We can only hope they left in tact something to differentiate Doctor from other killers like Nurse while they wait for their power. (That felt so disgusting to say, I miss you Nurse)
If they just lump everything of his onto a cooldown... yikes. But hopefully he at least retains the passive field. It looks kind of like they maybe merged both of his forms into one so he can walk and shock and attack without switching? and the blast is basically the switching replacement? I'd be ok with that. Streamline him and update him at the same time.

I’ve played killer enough to know that I’ve certainly got that extra hit and drop swing Bc the survivor was stuck in stagger animation. It’s not hard to be on a survivors ass because of it after a drop Bc it’s not hard when they are STUCK IN ANIMATION. They are cheesy hits. It’s poor map design. Now the burden is just placed on survivors instead of fixing the issue.
You want to talk about being stuck in animations...
when that is literally how you flashlight blind/pallet stun killers...
It makes sense for an entity fueled creature to be able to not stagger from falls while a human survivor would be much more realistic to have stagger from a height drop.

Yeah how satisfying can it be after a 5 minute chase and she FINALLY catches up to you and all you need to do to completely undo the chase is juke a little left and avoid where her telegraphed hit is coming from?
That's only fun a few times max before it's just sad.

Yeah I kinda dislike cooldown powers, too. As a killer I want to use my power when I need it not when I have it.
Exactly.
I also think it is more skillful to use the power whenever you want as opposed to having windows of opportunity where it can be active. The ability to choose when it happens gives players the chance to use the power unique ways and also punishes them for wasting it.
Cooldowns just make everyone cookie-cutter and reward the SAME playstyle of waiting for your power before being useful.
It looks like he's getting the Nurse treatment and having his main power moved to a cooldown dependent state. Hopefully the new power is actually useful, strong, and interesting. But considering there is likely a cooldown meter on it I doubt it'll be any of those.

okay so survivors will just get hit at any drop down now for the one perk that fixed that bs issue👌much more fun and balanced for both sides wouldn’t you say? I suppose they could just make it where a killer can’t swing or get a hit while the survivor is in a stagger animation it’s just void. YA KNOW KIND OF LIKE HOW YOU CANT GET BLINDS WHILE THE KILLER IS IN A PICK UP ANIMATION.
im not angry at you, and understand what you mean but damn man. This is some bs.
And it's ok for survivors to have free infinite loops that are extra safe just because of one perk?
Survivors shouldn't be able to 1v1 the killer, especially because of 1 busted perk and bad map design.
-
@HeroLives said:
Just gonna be honest with how I feel about it, it’s bs that the killer can hit you on the way down at the drop Bc you stagger at the bottom without the consistent passive. I’d rather have the passive alone than the sprint burst and they fix the ######### maps.
That's the big problem though. I do think having it become just a passive landing reduction perk would be alright if it was small enough and if maps were balanced for it, but they aren't.
They already have to go through the older maps and redo all the tiles and functions just to update it for the general health of the game. If they have to go through them again and make sure they can have a perk like Balanced Landing be passive it'll require so much more effort and time and money they don't have or want to use on the game.

The year is 2090. Spirit has been given a Nurse style fatigue after her phase walk and the recharge time has been upped to 50 seconds. Survivors can now see where Spirit is while Phasing and Spirit can no longer see scratch marks or hear survivor pain sounds while phasing.
The year is 3030. Huntress has only 1 hatchet that she must throw at the start of the trial. If she misses she is instantly downed, crippled, and loses the match. If she hits someone she is allowed to walk around at 4.2m/s as a reward and can't use her power anymore.

lol, he just released and you're already addressing him like he's been around.
But to be fair, isn't he exactly just like Billy but also has a oneshot swing? Wouldn't they play very very similarly when he's actually powered up?

Omg her ultra rare's will be changed "Cannot puke but gains 100% additional bloodpoints in hunting category."
Excellent, now you're thinking!

The year is 2065. Trapper wanders around the ironworks of misery, having to wait 8 more minutes to place his trap at the god window, with a slight tear coming down his face when he remembers that survivors said they were sick of trap spam and now he has to wait 10 minutes in between trap placements.
Pig weeps when she remembers that she crouched 2 minutes ago and that is why she cannot crouch to ambush attack again against the survivor with OoO giving her location away to his teammates. Survivors didn't like her "ambush spam" so BHVR put a timer between each ambush attempt.
The year is 2075. Freddy has just received his spam nerf. He can only put 1 person in the dream world every trial, and they can wake up at any time now.

Where are the 5 "challenge" addons that do nothing but make it harder to play for minimal bloodpoint gain? Mandatory in today's designs.

I suggest you take a look at what Nurse mains are actually saying when it comes to the rework. Look at videos that highlight issues we are discovering and bringing up.
Take a look at Endstille's video that shows if a survivor gets a running start on Nurse from her TR, all they have to do is run in a straight line to evade her for the equivalent of 3 generators.
Ask Myself or @coppersly why these changes make us frustrated or angry. I made a post that got dev attention, go look at that and read it. Read what we're saying.
Arguments that she's still the best killer comes from nothing. There is no evidence to back this up. Statistically she's comparable to Clown at red ranks, Nurse mains are critical of the rework (specifically the basekit nerf) saying she's weak and not at all fun to play as.
And let me ask something to anyone who thinks she is still good. Do you honestly think that the "Nurse is OP please nerf" posts would have dried up if she was still the best killer in the game?
And it's not like we haven't come up with better solutions for changes that make her weaker but still retain the core aspects and fun of playing as her.
At this point it's stubbornness and refusal to admit the changes were bad and try something better.

Yeah, it’s interesting that when survivor only players come to these threads they’re consistently saying “Nurse is still broken OP,” but the threads complaining about her being OP are gone. Something seems...wrong, there somehow...almost as if she’s not broken OP anymore but it’s a good sound bite that got a lot of mileage in the past...
Even the people still complaining about her recognize that an entire thread about it would be drastic overkill... but hey that's normal for slight changes right
My favorite line that gets way too much mileage for how weak it is is the "blink spam" posts. That ######### is good.

By that logic you can make the same statement about Leatherface or Billy. "No other killer has an instadown in their kit! Bubba's can even hit multiple survivors!!! OP! NERF! IDC HOW BAD HE IS IN RED RANKS".
If Nurse, the hardest killer in the game ever since she got dropped to 2 blinks and made not 4.6 MS, cannot be used to the same lethal effect in red ranks as she used to with the new addons vs how she was without, then there's a ######### issue. No killer should be taken from that high up and be comparable to CLOWN statistically and be about as unfun to play as, as Spirit was to play against.
Assuming her pickrate never changed, she would have had one of the best killrates at around 72%, now she is the 3rd worst killrate killer in the entire game at red ranks. There is an issue with the killer if red rank killers cannot make her work.
So no, I'm not gonna "miss" you with this. She's not the strongest killer anymore. Suck it up and learn that Nurse =/= OP.
We will never have to hear another day of "Nurse OP pls nerf" threads ever again though.
It's the small things.

Hitting your blinks or not is not why she struggles now. She struggles because her map presence is now terrible, which you can’t adapt to, other than slugging which only works against uncoordinated survivors. She is artificially limited because of the blink cooldown.
Yes artificially limited is such a good description for it.
I hate how some people insist the changes have made her more skill intensive, when in reality you can't be more skilled with the changes than you were before since it's purely a limitation and does nothing in the way of offering the player another way to achieve ANYTHING.
Making it more skillful would be something like using a lot in a row drains your total blink resources faster and using them more sparingly yields more blinks over time, or something like that. Anything that rewards playing differently and adapting to your situation, not forcing you to be a walking potato for 6 seconds. Limiting the power to a cooldown every use is not in any way a more skillful interaction with the power, it is purely an artificial limitation.

Not a very good killer but black friday thing I did buy Spirit and wow she is good fun and suddenly I am a pretty good killer went from my usual Rank 13-14 to Rank 8. So this "nerf" people are talking about does not sound good at all.
It is clear as day that Spirit is better than my main killers Doctor and Wraith. I really hope the nerf is not that big because I like being an ok killer :)
Unless you're relying on prayer beads and phasing collision you'll be fine.

She still takes plenty of skill, it just seems to me people are salty their broken character got nerfed and is now balanced because of it, you just want her back to being good old easy and busted nurse
You admit she takes skill but call her broken.
She had counterplay before the nerf. All the nerf did was turn it from skillful and location based descion making into a dash in a straight line to make her constantly have to double blink just to catch up and never worry about being challenged.

You can 4k at red ranks with any killer.
This doesn't make them good killers.
This has to do with the ranking system itself not judging on actual player skill, rather the longer you play the more and more likely you'd be at red ranks. Sure, Rank correlates with skill to a certain extent, but only to that. When you have the top Leatherface/Legion playing against the top SWF, you straight up don't have a chance to win more than 1 or two kills. The issue is not being able to perform at the very top, and the developers preferring to balance around regular players.
When you nerf say Nurse, the one top tier killer that can go against these steamrolling players while requiring a great amount of skill, practice, and most importantly prediction, you leave a bad taste in a player's mouth.
God knows I've had potato teammates at red ranks, so bad it makes you wonder why they're even there.
While I don't particularly think spirit's changes were bad, I think that the Legion and Nurse (basekit) rework were put into a real sorry state. Instead of addressing the problem with a meaningful solution, like how you could hold w and m1 with Legion and down people no matter what given enough time and now pretty much making him oscar the grouch tier. Or when you have what seems to be the majority of players who believe basekit Nurse was acceptable, but her addons were out of wack, then proceed to excessively nerf her basekit which then highly discourages prediction-based gameplay which punishes you to such an extent it becomes literally impossible to win on certain maps like Hawkins. Don't forget janky geometry and janky fatigues that were introduced after her rework.
These are what people are disgruntled about. I hope this helped you understand what people really are not happy about.
Yeah, why would you play a killer that is mechanically trying to fight you and frustrate you the whole match? That's what Nurse is now. Not a test of your skill but paitence.
@OP try and make a decent post like this. Well thought out and explained, while offering his opinion.
