I get a old Mettle of man vibe

Speaking as someone who plays killer about 70% of the time, NOED does feel incredibly cheap to use and even worse to go against, especially if you’ve ran the killer all game then they get in one lucky hit after NOED activates then just camp your body as your teammates leave.
you always feel a sense of reward after you Mori a survivor using Devour Hope because you’ve earned it, but the NOED benefits feel unearned
I personally feel there should be a prerequisite and it shouldn’t be just handed to you, there should be a hook requirement similar to No Way Out (if you want the full length version anyway). This way it would still reward good killers while making it less of a second chance perk for killers that got 0 hooks all game.
The prerequisite is giving up a perk slot for most of the game and still having a dull totem left.

Yes it is so off-putting and out of place. it feels like its only there for new players who can´t look in the corner for 5 seconds
I have no issue with an audio cue it's just weird noise
-
You could say the same for bubba , hillbilly, Myers plague to an extent NOED is fine and much weaker than the other two popular hex perks

TotH is dead. Countering it is just adding another foot to the depth of its grave.
I was more hoping to give counterforce more than as a counter to thrill

the perk is dead enough no need it make it any deader bro
How would buffing it make it dead ?
-
@Mandy said:
As far as I'm aware Counterforce hasn't been changed to include Blessing so the perk still only works on Cleansing a totem.
Could it ? To match hex: thrill of the hunt

You act like only spirit and nurse are viable . Play who you like there are 25 killers. You can win with all of them at higher ranks
-
Yeah with SBMM it's taking a lot longer to get a killer game
-
I've given up with any hope of a buff for trapper. They must know most people agree he should have more than one trap base and an easier way of getting more traps but they have chosen not to do anything

I play about 30% less, my lack of faith in the MMR likely plays into it, though mostly I'd blame the queue times, which force me to play between 7pm and 1am, if I want to find a game without too much waiting.
This is it for me, pre MMR I could get a game as killer quite quickly now it's just easier to play something else

@C3Tooth said:
Noed should be activated only if 5 Gen done like Rancor. Noed is a bit over kill for the last survivor when hatch closed.
At that point it doesn't matter if they have noed you've lost

it will be retired the same as previous offerings that are no longer used, such as splinters, moonlight offerings etc.
Thanks for the quick reply, best use them up so they don't clutter my offerings
-
Using it with lullaby has works quite well with me people forget it's quite effective at max stacks but will always been in ruins shadow
-
Nurse is usable but always be at a disadvantage and same for the range killers with the lack of aim assist and other features. The other killers are about the same you might have some issues being spun but you get used to that
-
What if the killer got big bloodpoint ( and emblem score)boost for it to make up for the escape.

I'm sorry, but a killer being boring to play against isn't a valid enough reason to nerf them. On top of that there's just no way to nerf his kit with how horrible he already is.
He's a 110 killer therefore he's weak in the 1v4 and very prone to getting gen rushed, his 1v1 depends on how good the player is with him and he can't snowball.
You can't nerf him without making him worse.
Didn't ask for a nerf

we all know "rework" means nerf
bhvr doesn't give straight buffs anymore, there is more nerfs than buffs
Again I don't care if he becomes nurse levels of good just how can anyone enjoy versing a good deathslinger

@Kebek said:
Because his design is actually very good and requires a lot of skill to play properly and beat a good survivor team.
He's a chase specialist, small TR hels him to get close as he has no mobility so that you can't just pre hold W vs him and actually have to engage him in chase. His ranged attack is very precise with needle hitbox and lengthy reload to give survivors time to get after each use, limiting his snowball. The zoning poses a constant threat so a survivor never feels safe, you can try to make his shots harder but can't loop him mindlessly like with M1 killer or other ones with huge activation times for their power (that also snowball harder).
If you don't like him that's fine but his design is perfect as it is, there's nothing wrong with it. A chase focused killer with amazing consistency and high skill ceiling that also has quite a few weaknesses to compensate and give survivors breathing room.
Short of the stronger loops he can either shoot you or zone you and due to the small terror radius ( monitor) you cant get much of a head start. The best counter is gen rush and hope he's bad. I'm not suggesting he's op or anywhere close to that just right now I would rather stare at a wall for 5 mins than play against him. There's a few other killers I don't like but at least I find them fair
-
I didn't suggest nurfing him ?

Yh i agree it would be nice. Perks like Bloodwarden which arent meta but have their use are ok, but things like monstrous shrine or perks which are a weaker version of others need a change.
But while its nice and should be done, is it important?
Undying has been the only change in the meta since corrupt it's so slow to change and that's on the Devs so yes

Here's some insight from a dev that can also be helpful, as I've seen people saying to make them not scream, and this explains why that's not feasible.
That is a poor excuse, all it's going to do is frustrate killers if a survivor screams it should be a hit
-
How often do you see pop, ruin BBQ noed, corrupt it would be nice if other perks could compete
-
Highest sensitivity you can play on the better. And sometimes it's just easier to let them spin then hit them
-
I've been playing clown with NOED lately and due to his counter being pull the pallets early you rarely get quick hits against good survivors in the early game. But with NOED and using it right I've turned a 1 k in to a 3/4 k multiple times. I have zero sympathy for survivors. I use detectives and the amount of people who just walk past dull totems to rush the gens explains why noed is used so much.
-
I think you have to pick them up? Not hit them just straight out the trap ?

Game starts, you find one survivor, hook him/her and a gen pops. You walk away and a survivor unhooks, you go back and see the fully healed survivor and ignore them and just run around the map looking for the one who was just unhooked. Why? That's what I don't get. Like 4 gens need to get fixed and you are tunneling actively ignoring everybody in your LoS? Why? It'd be different if its like 1 or 2 gens are left or the gates are opened cool thats tactical I understand that, I'm all for that. Even then personally I'd just knock him down again and slug them.
I wouldn't ignore someone who is in front of me but if it's a choice of someone who's dead on hook and someone on first hook it's a waste of time chasing the 2nd.
-
@WexlerWendigo said:
What’s the point of playing the game if you’re just going to stand around the hook, and down someone before they have a chance to move?
Maybe you should try to improve, so that you don’t need to aggressively tunnel all the time to win. You won’t learn anything playing like this.
I didn't say camp. Also that's the point of BT
-
@theplaggg said:
Tunneling is fueling the "toxic playstyle" cycle. It is a poor strategy punishing both sides with less points. You can play however you like but you should expect 2 kills at max with a lower amount of pips and BP. Higher rank survivors will adapt and genrush you to death making the experience dull for both sides.
Tunneling isnt always just waiting for the unhook I guess it's more focusing down one or two survivors and ignoring the rest. That always gets me more kills on average than going for 2 hooks on everyone before a kill

@sulaiman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/266213/why-shouldnt-i-tunnel
The main question is: do you like to tunnel? If you do, everything is fine.
If you dont like it, then you shouldn´t, for 2 main reasons.
The first reason is a little survivor sided, because its the old "tunneling (and camping) arent fun"-reason.
The second is way more important for you as killer, IF you dont like the camping and tunneling gamestyle.
Since the devs base a lot of their descicions on the statistics they get through the game, you want them to have clear statistics.
Tunneling and camping can lead to kills you otherwise would not have made, thus tainting these statistics, because it makes killers look better than they are, even though they just got their kills through tunneling in camping.
The more kills you get through those tactics, the more you tip the balance to the killer side, telling the devs killers are fine, gen times are fine, and so forth. So they don´t need to change anything.
If you dont like tunneling in camping, you shouldn´t do it. Your performance as a killer might go down, but it might then point to balance changes, that might again allow for other successful play styles.
That might be a reason keys are not changed yet, if escape rates are comparable low, but get pushed by keys (which as far as i know only contribute to 3% of escapes anyway) to look like balanced, there is no reason to change keys. (thats why keys screw the survivor side of the equation.)
So play worse so they'll buff killer ?
-
@nursewannabe said:
Because people like you can't take a loss, care only about winning and the pipping system indulges this, get to red ranks and think they're actually good when you're not, get matched against good survivors that destroy you and end up in the forum crying for survivor nerfs when in reality... Those survivors aren't op, you're just not as good
I'm consistently rank 1, not that that matters, now when I say tunnel I don't mean wait around for the unhook. But if I find you again still injured on a gen with someone else why wouldn't I go for you ?
-
Would you ignore a 50% done gen and start on a new one ?
-
@Pittelli_Money said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/266213/why-shouldnt-i-tunnel
Against solid teams most of the time it will get you one kill while you stand in the same place the whole time. Can’t tell you how to play your game. If that’s the play style you enjoy then go for it. The negative is you will never really learn how to get good enough for 4K quality teams.
I main killer The competition for me is what keeps me coming back. There is no competition in tunneling. Like I said if that’s the game play you enjoy knock yourself out.
Yeah camping is rarely the right move but if I find both the unhooker and the unhooked on a gen together I can only chase one so it makes sense to go for the last me closest thing death. Especially if they didn't heal
-
@Razorbeam said:
For me it's only tunneling at 5-3 gens and generally inefficient, way better I find to cast a wider net of hooks to help secure you later, once it gets to 2 gens though it's no longer tunneling it's asserting map pressure and trying to make it a 1v3 to get the snowball rolling. Hard not to call it fair game when you have the option of ds, it's why I always bring ds on survivor.
The problem with this is you can go from 4 gens to 1 in a blink of an eye. I have pretty good success if I ignore one survivor and only try to hook 2/3 untill one is dead

The problem is, to most Survivors; tunneling is tunneling.
If someone is unhooked & their teammate bailed and I see them, wounded and alone? I tunneled! Clearly I was supposed to let them walk away.
If someone is unhooked and I'm chasing someone, who leads me right to the injured person self-caring under the hook/behind a rock 3 feet away from the hook? I tunneled! I was supposed to leave them alone!
An SWF run the same character with the same cosmetics, and I hit the same person twice in a 45 minute period? I tunneled! Clearly, I was supposed to remember everyone's names and keep a running list of where each person was!
That's why I stomp on this 'tunneling is mean/bad' BS; it's just peer pressure based on a fluid definition that has 0 meaning beyond 'We want to shame you', for the most part.
I guess this is my problem. I would never just return to hook and tunnel but I'm not ignoring someone to be "fair"
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
Why not tunnel? Because it’s nothing short of miserable to be on the receiving end of it.
I am fully aware that the Killer is under no obligation to deliver a fun game for the other side, but the Killer is the only actual source of fun of the entire match, period. I want everyone to be able to test their skill against mine. And from there, what happens, happens. Effiency be damned.
That’s not to say I don’t get really sweaty. But I will never, ever tunnel a random and innocent survivor to death just so I can win at video game. Not because of Hadnofunfield or whatever map offering, not because of an obnoxious flashlight, and definitely not because they outplayed me. The one and only exception was old OoO users.
I do agree with that no one likes being tunneled, but an out positioned injured survivor over a health one running towards shack why would I not go for the easy target
-
@Momentosis said:
Against good survivors it's a bad strategy.
Tunnelling is good when the survivors are bad or there's one bad survivor with 3 good survivors. You tunnel out the bad one and leave the 3 good ones at a disadvantage.
Now if all 4 are good, whoever you are tunnelling is gonna loop you too efficiently, you might not even be able to get them on death hook by the time the survs get all gens done.
But as we know, most survivor players are complete ######### at the game.
Yeah but if all 4 are good it doesn't matter who you go for, so might as well be the one you've hooked.

Doesn't change my point does it ?

What did they change with the clocks ?

Beacuse theres a lack of love for trapper from the Devs

There are much better perks and add-ons than that for undetectable. The twins have to give up their power for a short burst. It's probs more fun to verse than optimal twins 😂

BBQ + Undying + Ruin + Lethal Pursuer + Tinkerer + Pop
I think you would need to nerf perks like that but, survivors would have no excuse to bring a totem perk you might even see more distortion plays,

@OldHunterLight said:
100% agree, most offerings are useless, the only good ones are maps/cakes/puddings/bps/wards the rest are pretty much useless.
25% extra, that is 2000 out of 8000 assuming you are using an envelope that is extra 8000k offering is 4000, so you have to get a perfect game every time you use them to benefit, which most of the time you just don't.
Is it worth it? Not really, are the devs doing something about them? Who knows but I doubt it.
Yeah there is a whole set of offerings for increased chances to unhook yourself what is the point of that ?

See my problem I have with tha oak offering is....I kinda...cant tell the difference if they are used or not. Hooks dont feel that spread out. Back when maps were bigger it made a slight difference but now it just doesnt matter. I think a lot of the old offerings could use a rework.
I would rather just delete them or convert to blood point offerings bloodweb is bloated enough

I mean what about all the reagents, luck offerings , sacrificial ward, useless add-ons , the oaks for the hooks and the lower blood point offerings that barely pay for themselves. Moris are at least a little bit fun

I think it's total crowns gained not sure how many though
