It is ok to get burnt out a bit. Take a few days and rest up, do other stuff. This game has been out for 4 years and not going anywhere.
-
I enjoy the post that say 48 hour ban is too long, and act all entitled. and the only rational response is, do you realize how many DC you have to do to reach 48 hours. the problem isn't the game, its the player or their internet.
-
The bushes that have popped up after recent patch make the map really really bad as killer. When they first got added, and me and kill ran into them, we both stopped looked at each other for a good minute, and we just both turned around and went on our way.
If I play killer and get that map, I won't disconnect, but I'll just stand in the street and hope the players will just come out and we can farm a couple hits before we move on. If people pick that map on purpose right now. I may just take that an excuse to go use rest room, move around a bit and wait for the 5 gens to get done, so I can move on.

And some people like human interaction. Quit putting others down for their choices of expressing their feelings. Yeah posting crap like this is dumb, but he has a right to post it and let his feelings be known, this is a community not a segregated city where you discriminate others.
They like human interaction? They came here to say "Screw you I'm leaving" Good for you if you care about the coming and goings of every player.

Often time as the Killer I feel as if the survivors are killing themselves
-
I didn't know this was a thing that didn't work until this thread. not from the OP as there was too much attitude in that post to explain why it was bad. Sorry we all don't have 5,000 hours in the game and know every detail.
-
I just want to say Thank you for being a face camper. I play with friends off, and when one of them get face camped, the rest of us are always able to easily escape. You do make the game extra boring but very easy to win and achieve some of the quests we are working on. Keep up the bad play. We need more like you!

I have many issues with console players, but I don't believe that console players lower the quality of a game. I feel some players on PC have 3 or 4 years and Thousands and thousands of hours, and when they see someone not on their level, they get a bit too judgement and cannot get off their Mountain.
I do see Console players quit a LOT more then PC players, but I've seen plenty of console players do some interesting stuff. I'm currently Rank 4 and encounter plenty of good Rank 1+ Console players.
I also find console players taunt/BM a bit more. They don't have chat at the end to vent/taunt, so they need to get it out in game. PLenty of PC players will still complain after the game, but since console player cannot, they take it up a notch in game. (which is a bummer)

Nothing says many people wouldn't go into unranked with the same best combos. Thinking unranked means everyone will play "Fun" perks and just play friendly is not a realist belief.

Killer is meant to be the harder role and it always has been. Survivor is meant to be the more relaxing role but as a result ur actions don’t change the game a much when ur survivor. The problem I have with all this stuff is that I’m genuinely concerned for the survivor gameplay health because it’s becoming way more stressful especially when ur dependent on random teammates. Have you seen killer ques recently? They are horrid. You wanna know why? Because more and more people are switching to killer because survivor just isn’t cutting it for them.
If a killer is running a meme build or struggled tremendously I’ll almost always kill my self for them or at least muck around with them. I find it stupid when survivors tbag or think they r good when a killer is clearly paying chill or using a meme build so I can agree with u on that.
I would say I’m a killer main and hardly ever play survivor these days because the experience is just getting worse and worse especially as solo, but you probsbly wouldn’t believe me.
If a horror game where 4 people are being hunted and the survivor role is more relaxing, then that is a critical failure of the game..

Yes, it has been. I presumed you wouldn't be talking about it or noticing because they wouldn't even dare to announce it. But they have put bushes here and there and they have created the new super infinites. It is absolutely crazy, believe me. Killers can't catch nobody there. It's just impossible.
I played a few games this weekend and saw the extra bushes in really annoying places. It is absurb.

The dedication some players have to put in thousands and thousands of hours into any specific game is and will always be beyond my understanding. There are too many other good games out there to focus thousands of hours on 1 game.
If you are only facing people with thousands of hours more then you, then you will lose. At least it shouldn't be stressful. You know you are doomed.

putting effort into coming into a forum to say your quitting is as effective as spitting into the wind. No one cares. You of course are going to get snarky comments to your last ditch effort for attention. It is what the internet was created for. That and porn.

prestige is a waste of time, and useful for people who plan on playing this game an absurd amount. Prestige claudette seems valid, as she is basically invisible in 65% of the maps.
There is no value for someone that isn't dedicating their life to this game to prestige, unless you are so abused by game companies that made you think grinding is fun.
-
I'm glad the OP is making sure we all know how to play by their rules. I didn't realize he created this game. It is always nice to see game creators who jump into the forums to make sure we are all playing correctly
Thanks!

Why am I even playing as the killer when I always get survivors that are 5+ ranks better than me? And why are they always the salty teabaggers?
some people play killer because they need to grind BP (why this game makes us grind so much is sad) but often an average/ok game with killer provides a lot more BP that you can transfer into survivors you want to play.
matchmaking is truly terrible in this game and from my understanding that is a feature, not a bug as it has been the issues for years.

Some kind of secondary objective in this game (aside from bones) would be amazing, but then there would be even more people who don't to gens.
I never actually played F13, didn't know you could kill Jason. Yeowch.
It was so easy to kill Jason that it became such a sad joke of a game. :(
-
There just is nothing else for Survivors to do.. Work on gens, open gate leave. I wish there was "something" else to let players do
At least F13 had multiple ways to escape (and a broken easy way to kill jason/sigh)

Can we change the fact that once you have it you can never get it off. It not like I’m going stay sane for long. Or at least let me snap out of it at tier two as well. It makes no sense that I’m only able to make myself less crazy when I’m at my craziest. The Doctor can easily put me into higher tiers but unless I’m screaming my head off, I can’t snap myself out of it. Please I just want this. ;-;
It is the only effect in the game, you can't shake and that is weird to me, It may have minor effect, but from an game mechanic point of view, I don't like its something that once applied, the survivor has zero options to remove via some method (even if time consuming)

bruh you can't say its just console players
being on pc doesn't magically increase your IQ
No but using a console does lower IQ
I Kid I kid. Plenty of good console players out there. They do however quit faster then PC players for some reason, which I find odd more then anything.

This mid Tier killer is no fun says random person. Another random person disagree and says he is fun to play and fight against. Balance has yet again been restored.

"I'll probably spend another 40 hours focusing on 1 killer trying to get their variety of skills. This means I'm near the end of my run with this game and will only experience the freedom of options for a very short time."
Uh.
Hmm.
How do I tackle this? DBD isn't a game you can really say "After 40 more hours I'm going to be done because I've gotten everything unlocked". Its just... I've never seen a take like this before and its weird for a living game like DbD.
Hard to believe you play a lot of online games if this is your thoughts on it.
You read that out of context.(or I probably wrote it poorly) I said I put in around 500 hours to game I enjoy (which is a lot of tmie). I was trying to imply I spending a majority of that time just grinding/unlocking abilities, by the time I finally unlock all the skills and because it takes so long, I'll probably be ready to move on. What other online game makes you play so long to unlock basic abilities?
I should have used less words in my first post, but basically, the grind is not needed. A good game should stand on its own. We should be able to play whatever time we dedicate to the game with the freedom to pick and choose abilities.
-
I agree the game is better with more options. I also play a lot of online PVP style games. Majority of them don't unlock options behind the grind. They make a good game and trust people will play it.
I'm simply saying I would not play this game less if there was no grind. I would get the freedom and fun of trying different options. That seems like a win/win
-
When playing killer, I love to see self heal. It means if you can spread out your hits and then hook someone, most of the people will not bother helping that person and as they are required by some sort of law to self heal first. This allows me to completely forget about the person on the hook as they will almost always go to stage 2 of hooking on first hook and it really saves me time. It is really a bonus killer perk more then anything.
-
It takes work to get to a 48 hour band. either you are liar and DC every so often or you have terrible internet. If you trying to play a team based game with bad internet, than you deserve the ban when you lose connection, are you are impacting other people experience.
-
excellent counter point the survivor op will ignore. Remember, if the killer has an ability that is effective, that is unfair. No such rule applies to survivor.
-
Ranks do impact to some degree. As a newer player I could always tell when I had either a red ranked survivor or killer in game, as they did some crazy ass #########. now that I hoover around Rank 5, the skill level of players 1 to 6ish don't seem that different and I face them most of the time. Every so often I face some god player, who probably has 400 to 4,000 more hours then me, but good for them with sticking with the game so long.
-
Previous weekends I find killer queues usually very fast. Less people seem to want to face the more SWF groups on weekends (and I don't blame theM), but today everyone wants the BP as others have said, and I can get games a LOT faster as survivor. My friend is playing same time as me right now, and his wait time is up to 3minutes for killer, and my wait time as survivor is about 10 seconds.
It will go back to normal soon
-
nothing wrong with how loud he is. he is just sharing his thoughts.
-
I'm still in my first 500 hours trying to unlocks skills to test out various build. This game needs less grind. I'll probably stop playing before I get to a point I'm happy with number of perks.
less grind is not bad. lol

It will just be abused in the same way the killer identifying programs were. Anyone who beat me? "Avoid player"
I only want to go against people 10 ranks below me.
matchmaking already has this feature by default.
-
When the Gens are done in the first 3 minutes, it sure is a bummer, you can't get more points as survivor as the game is already and the killer maybe had a total of 2 to 3 hooks in that time.
Survivor woes are hilarious.
-
The Interesting thing is when 4 people solo queue, they all think they are doing the best and the others are the problem. it is sort of hilarious.
-
person DC a bunch of games, get mega long DC penalty. perhaps has 1 actual DC and then gets mad about DC penalty. lolz

I'm glad that this very smart and well designed combo is in the game. How would killers function without it??? I assume they would have to actually play the game like survivors.
Maybe we should invent a perk that's let's survivors sabo hooks from anywhere on the map until that specific tool box is out. I mean fair is fair right. But they should also make it so that the aura of the killer is seen by everyone when they close to a survivor. Because what if the killer actually tries to get rid of the toolbox? Well we cant have that. So when that toolbox is out another survivor automatically gets it.
I feel like perhaps you do not like this combo. When killers don't take perks to mess with Gens, the game can be ridiculous short. (easy Survivor win) I have faced this combo many times as a survivor, and it does slow down the game (which I believe is 100% a good thing), but it can and is still defeated often enough. Players have plenty of perks the killer can find annoying as well.
When I play a killer, with any hexes, I feel like the survivors cleanse all 5 totems in the first 60 seconds. When I play survivor, we can never find more then 2 totems.
-
I get it. when you don't like a game, sometimes its hard to move one. I rarely play an online game more than 500 hours, and usually somewhere around 400 I start to get unhappy and realize it isn't fun for me anymore. it takes all different amount of time to realize, it is ok to move on and find a game you enjoy more, while still wishing the game you were playing was better.
I'm very sad at some of the games I no longer play, but many of them turned into bad games, where I had good memories. Moving on can be hard, but it can be health.
It feels like the OP is at a point, where how this game is played now is not what they want, and perhaps for their personal happiness, they find something better, while hoping this game improves so they can one day return.

If the devs do something stupid I'm not gonna ignore it, and its dumb to just never talk about them, you should never cross certain lines of course but shirking criticism is how many games have crashed and burned before and I still like this game and want it to succeed.
one way to say that is " if the devs do something I disagree with, I believe it is our right to post constructive feedback as to why the changes are disruptive to the game"
However people here just just complain and don't add value/suggestions and their posts don't really offer anything of value, but muddy the waters.

I swear Bloody Party Streamers are cursed, it doesn't matter what role I'm playing, they mean it's going to be a very one sided game (occasionally it's very one sided in my favor, but that's still not fun).
The only good games I've had with BPSes are when everyone decides to farm.
And even then does a farming game really count as a good game?
yes

Honestly, there is not another game quite like this. Many of us love horror themed games, and the idea of the game is great. The execution is often weak, but until someone else taps into the same market, we dont' have a good alternate
We are basically meth addicts, hoping someday we can upgrade to some quality cocaine game.

A killer main: I had around 10 matches today out of this matches 7(!) matches with anti hock offerings and Sabo builds. If someone is doing this you can be sure that a killer has no mood to play "fair". This event should be fun for both sides but the toxic players are ruin it. If I play against normal Survivors you get the hatch or if someone dcs we can farm. But if you try to be cocky and a bad ass you have to live with the consequences...
but survivors don't want the killer to try. How dare you sir. How dare you!

That's true. Events like this do bring back the casual players that have no interest in playing fair. I'm a casual player myself, but I have no fun being a jerk to others.
Sometimes I wonder if DBD would benefit from having both a ranked and an unranked mode. If your rank matters to you that much, then I'll have fun reaping the same benefits in a mode the sweaty dedicated players have no interest in!
The challenge is. You want a "Fun" match. Every person has a slightly different version of fun. It is very very easy to judge another person in this game for doing something "wrong" even though they might be very laid back and not trying. Everyone seems to have a set of 10 things I expect my opponents to play like, and instantly decide their opponent is a try hard if they break one of their personal rules.
-
Remember this simple rule: If the Survivors win, it is because they are good and earned it by excellent friendly play. if the killer wins, it is because he is sweaty, tunneler, camper and bad player.

Yes, this is exactly about the Dwightcrow charm, I really hope they don't repeat this...
this company would never repeat a mistake
it is a neat thing to have streamers be able to give out codes, but it shouldn't be the only way. there are a LOT of valid reasons people can't/don't watch a streamer, and many of them love cosmetics. Gatekeeping exclusives via only one method is lame and frustrating.
-
I wish the company realized if they took away the grind, we would still play. if the game is fun, we will play. We dont' need the extra few hundred hours in place to force us to unlock perks we want. It is a lot and it is not needed.
-
As much as I find DS annoying, it does help against the tunneling.
-
@Katzengott said:
I think we just should get rid of killers in general at this point. Most of them want to do gens aswell meanwhile.
I would think a large portion of survivors would lose a mode with no killers anyway. Just rush those Gens and leave as fast as possible. that is how 50% or more games go anyway. really the killer is the stupid part of this game to most people. Lets just get rid of it.
-
If you were to ban tunneling, players would abuse that and anyone jsut hooked would block/stay in front of killer.
Also, so many time as a killer, I hook Player A. player B comes to unhook them. I chase player B, because I find it more fun (and I don't think tunneling is wrong/bad) but then either player B leads me into player A and then Player A gets taken out in cross fire, or Player A just keeps running in front of me, keeping me from Player B, so I drop player A. sometimes player A was really annoying and I tunnel them into the ground because that is what they get (maybe they are holding a Key, or they are playing claudette and amazing at hiding. I'm not going through the work to find them twice) - play how you want to play, stop judging others how they play.
yes some players will tunnel all the time, but there are perks to slow that down, but really, there are countless annoying tactics that survivors user, sometimes tunneling is simply a good option (just don't let this get you mad and move on)
-
Perks going to all 1 Tier. Perks unlock much eelier. Basically remove a few hundred hours of grind. realize players will play this game long term if it is well made and the forced grind isn't need to exsist if the game is fun.
