To be honest, the only real modification I would add, is I have seen a Massive Increase in Bubba players since the patch, but that is 100% due to hit validation being so sad, the Bubba can kill everyone in his line of sight, so its mega easy mode due to buggy patch.
our SWF just disco's every game against bubba now, as its just not worth our time.
-
I don't know if the Spirit needs a nerf, but it does seem like both the Spirit and Ghost face breed some of the most thirsty/try hard/ gamers who think this is an esport type gamer and their play styles really suck the fun out of the game.
it is sort of like Bubba/trapper breed basement camping boring players that will just throw an entire game away to get 1 kill. Not sure why the most esports/tryhard sweaty people get pulled into Spirit/ghost face so damm much,
-
the thing about breakable walls Is I don't know anyone that plays survivor or killer that likes them. They seem to annoy everyone and its one of the few thigns almost everyone seems to agree on.
pallets are important and I still think most maps don't have enough. Good killers can avoid getting hit 75% of the time, and some pallets are nothing more then traps to waste time using or hiding by.
-
Remember the most important thing: Ranks have no value: There are 100+ things wrong with this game. Putting any sort of value on ranks is not a game problem, it is a you problem.
-
Every all the toxic try hard nonsense I see from so many people, the only thing that annoys me really is being slugged until I bleed out. Killers that just go for slugging strat I feel are something I 100% DC in the middle of game when it happens.
-
There are 100 great reasons to die on hook. Be sure to use them. Game is crappy. Die and move on.

I am playing other games.
The point is, I come to DBD for a gaming experience I haven't found anywhere else. I've invested hundreds of hours and money. I would usually play 5+ matches a day. Now I play one and, log off because it's not fun.
My son is enjoying it though and, earning me some big BP's, lol!
The challenge with this game, is it is an "experience" many of us can't find elsewhere. The game is in a ######### place (and I'm being kind) and there is no other game that comes close. I think the Devs know this, so we get half ass game because of it
-
When I play with Friends, we have nights where all play meme perks and have a blast. some nights we crush it and have 3 out of 4 escape 95% of games. Sometimes its turn rough, but you need to have some fun in the game.
If you can't just have fun regardless of dying, then thats on you. This game is in a ######### place, and either find some fun with friends with it, or honestly, get the ######### out as its something I can't imagine playing solo on purpose.
-
Killers are having a great patch. They swing their weapon and survivors within 30 feet fall over. It is magical.
-
Of all the problems, the Hit validation is the worst I've seen and matchmaking somehow seems worst. My purple rank grouped has now faced 90% rank 1/2 killers since Tuesday (few hours of games per night)
Taking a break as well.
-
The community may annoying and frustrating, by the company really does an amazing job of turning this game into a big pile of #########.
So I'd think of the game as a pile of #########, and all the players and ######### eating flies too stupid to just move on to something else because they don't know any better.
-
I have only faced Rank 1 Nurse/spirits tonight. Me and my friends are currently purple ranks and every game is vs rank 1 killer. Hilarious and fun. Like dental work fun.

They should get rid of the PTB at this point really. It serves no point anymore imo.
I think people liked the changes to Open hand. which is probably why it didn't make it to live servers
-
Ghostface - The only killer I don't like. If I'm going to play against a toxic A-hole Killer 95% chance that person will be playing a ghostface. Something about that killer really calls to the killer that want to really make the game unfun.
In theory hook camping bubbas are also annoying. We always beat them 3-1, but its just a boring game as the killer just stands over the first hook until we all finish gens and get out. its just a waste of 5 to 7 minutes of my night.
I guess a bonus would be, any killer that still uses NOED, because they seriously don't have enough faith in their ability to play the game they need to crutch the end game. Hilarious and pathetic

Three things:
1) Are these ever new killers? Sometimes I've seen new killers who just don't know any better.
2) Assuming it's a killer who knows what he's doing, maybe he perceived you're a SWF and decided to just wreck your game. Or, he's baiting you all to dive bomb the hook.
3) Are any of you toxic? Depending on how fast that first gen went and any gameplay before then, maybe instead of going off and facing a corner he decided this was a more spiteful approach.
This occurs so quick in a game, its not like the killer has seen more then 1 person. I mean, we easily finish the game and move one and get more points. So its not a terrible thing. It helps our escape challenges and dailies. It just seems like such a waste. I see this from killers Rank 5 to 15 more often then anywhere else.
Why play a game and then not play the game.
-
For some reason 4 games in a row of this.. These killer scores so bad. I don't understand it.

Just like with SWF survivors, winning isn't always the killers goal.
Sure, I get that players play different based on challenges, etc (we often take builds that will lower our chance to win). I find it hard to believe any strategy involves hook 1 person and then Stand there all game and get the bare minimum number of blood points and literally don't interact with the game.

Every time I update the game- including PTB, I get a random crash at some point or another stating some excuse and it persists until I verify the game file integrity and practically download another update. Does anybody else CONSTANTLY go through this?
Every update. I have to reinstall the game for issues like this. No other game causes the issue. I'm always told it is a steam issue, altough no other game on steam has ever had the issue.

Good job?
-
People on Forums/reddit probably weren't too positive, but that is only a fraction of the player base.

Utter garbage statement right here:
"you don't Tunnel, you don't need to worry about DC"
If I hit you, down you, hook you, leave you alone, and let you get unhooked... and then I go and chase two other survivors, hook one, and then you save him, and I down you after the save... you can still Decisive Strike me despite the fact I went out of my way not to tunnel.
60 seconds can be a long, LONG time.
You don't understand the game very well if you believe anything you just said.
-
DS Is needed to deal with Tunneling/camping Killers. Sure it shouldn't work when they go in a Locker, or it shouldn't work when all 5 Gens are done, but it is important. I even think with less then 3 Gens done, it should trigger twice if possible. Because Tunneling is pathetic and we need this more tools to deal with tunneling/camping killers.
If killers didn't Tunnel/camp, DS would lose SO much value it wouldn't even be used.
-
Nighttime is always slow for SWF . I play a lot of SWF and we wait a good chunk of time. It makes sense. we come across 2 types of killers now and it is sort of sad
Killer a.) -Try hard Esport wannabe who tunnels/camps/slugs - We usually lose with maybe 1 to 2 getting out, but can easily get all 4 killed
Killer b.) Either newbie killer due to matchmaking or killer not running meta perks and not camping/tunneling, and we usually win. 1 out of 5 games, maybe 1 out of 4 people die.
1 game per week, is actually a close game, where we felt it was close and even, and actually really intense, but felt fair (why the ######### do we still play? too lazy to find another game since we have a group of 7 friends that rotate in and out throughout the week and its a pain to get everyone to agree on what to play next)
-
@Zozzy said:
Can't fix this issue without red rank survivors waiting 30 minutes for a match.
We need more killer players and less swf.
Imagine if the game was a bit more balanced and more people felt the urge to play killers. the advantage of SWF is extremely strong and I don't blame people for not playing killers. So many SWF will do anything to keep the killer from getting a single kill, and call them toxic jerks if they manage 1 kill in a game.
If a good MMR means red ranked SWF take 30 minutes+ for a game. That is a good sign to Devs how truly ######### this game truly is.
-
DC is the best tool against tunneling. This is critical to the game.
DC is needed, but it should not work if he survivor does something like jump into a locker, or once all 5 Gens are done.
DC window to trigger should even be easier, as it shouldn't be that hard to miss.
Tunneling is Toxic and needs a counter. you don't Tunnel, you don't need to worry about DC (however at end game collapse, I strongly feel it should turn off, as its all chaos at this point anyway)
-
The problem is with any UI change, you are going to get so much Hate for it. They could do anything, and people would hate it. I have never seen any redesign of anything without a huge amount of people unhappy. I'm going to play with it and see if it really changes my mind. It is not like I stare at the 4 survivor names 64% of the game.

Changes to killers:
- The change to the Clown is fine, although new players can increase the speed of survivors by misusing it (even simply without being a new player, not knowing how to use that "Antidote" well).
- The change to the Wraith seems kind of sad to me, I thought we would have true invisibility all the time.
- Changing the Trapper works for the first few attempts (for Trappers who were unlucky), but with more attempts it is worse for Trappers who were lucky and forced survivors to make many attempts.
- Deep Wound is still stupid, even if the time is shortened, there are still too many ways to stop the counter.
- A "buff" to Iron Maiden that I doubt makes it a good perk.
- Destroyed the combo of Undying and Ruin. Maybe now that it saves tokens it works with other perks, but it only keeps the totem once when you break it (like when they now break Undying first).
Changes to survivors:
- Buffed 5 perks. Only buffs, not changes like Undying. Pure buffs.
- No nerfs to DS / Unbreakable (almost the equivalent of Undying / Ruin).
TL;DR: Killers have one less perk combo, a buff to a useless perk, and killer changes that don't seem like buffs to me.
Survivors have 5 new perk buffs to make new combos with and are freed from the "Undying / Ruin" combo.
And we still haven't changes to the keys 😂
This game Is survivor sided. This is the way
-
This is still better then No reward. Going all the way back to 20 is hilarious though. I sometimes think the company things we are all streamers who will play this game so much we can easily climb to Rank Reds without an issue. Many of us have jobs and play other video games. i doubt I'll get red ranks every again if I go back to 20 every month. (I don't care either, its just sort of amusing)
-
Undying/Ruin in its current form could really mess over a game more then any other combo at times. This is a good change. Now it can be used with Devour Hope, Lullaby? - Very cool.
I want the killers to be strong. I want to their perks to be powerful, but the Ruin/Undying was both overpowerd and SOOOOOOOOOO ######### boring predictable it wasn't worth it.
many popular survivor perks exsist to counter toxic killer behavior - Killer likes to slug (ugh) Unbreakable helps. - killer loves to camp (lame) - borrowed time to the rescue. Oh look, that killer loves to tunnel (Say hello to Decisive Strike)
I would LOVE not to use those perks, but I see more and more camping/tunneling/slugging then ever, so I feel forced to counter those tactics.
I do think we could see some changes to some popular survivor perks (I think Decisive strike shouldn't trigger when pulled from a locker, or after all 5 Gens are done, but I also think the window to trigger it should be bigger). I think it should be useable multiple times as long as 3+ generators still need to be done as well.
-
I remember when I was learning killer and getting paired against the Red rank survivors who were bully squads. It is hard for it not to be tilting, but at some point, when you realize its going really bad, you just gotta calm down and just walk away for 5 or 10 minutes. It is hard to do, but this game matchmaking is currently PATHETIC and you need to realize it will happen time to time.
There is no other healthy option when you realize they are doing this to you. Time will make you better, but those moments, where you are clearly outplayed, I suggest watching how they move, try to think about the little things they are doing that is so annoying and just either try to make small progress, walk way, or honestly QUIT the game, as this will happen to again and again as you play this game more.
I play with a SWF most of the time and when we can tell quickly, when matchmaking ######### over the killer and most of us always try not to bully the killer. If any of our friends do, we yell at that piece of ######### and just try to get match over so everyone can move on. many players though need to stroke their egos because either they had a run of bad games themselves and they are letting off steam, or they are just big piles of ######### who love to ######### ruin others enjoyment. It is impossible to know.

Both of you need to realize that Perks are put into the game for that players benefit. We are all entitled to running whatever perks we want to help us fulfill our duties for said side. Stop with this nonsense.
Edit: Typo
NOED is a great perk for beginnings. Survivors have multiple beginners perks as well and that is ok, but it is hilarious that anyone that plays as a killer and gets past purples ranks still has to rely on this. It is such a crutch perk I feel legitimate pity on any killer that users it on higher ranks as that is just sad. (the exception always when someone is just working on some stupid challenge that requires some dumb perk combo to complete)
-
Whenever I see NOED from anyone higher rank the 14, I laugh at the killer for a good 15 minutes. I feel very bad for anyone that takes that perk after they learn how to play this game.
-
people with thousands of hours of gametime will usually hate it.
The normal folk with less than 500 hours of time played usually love farming game as the grind in this game is really ######### too much.
-
Just be ready to be told "provide more information" or not action taken type respnose. This company doesn't care about what players do in games. Reporting with video proof, steam ID, and more information has never resulted in any action from anyone I know of.
-
Every day for 6 months someone has posted about how bad the matchmaking is. I assume it has gone on long before then, but I only started coming here this year.
The matchmaking in this game is awful and the devs should be embarrassed by it. The fact when they try to setup MMR based matchmaking it has failed in the past is further proof they are very bad at basic concepts in an online game.
They also don't really care or this problem would have been addressed a long time ago.
-
I love the idea of the twins.
I hate the most popular way to play them is to slug slug slug. Nothing ends a night of fun and games with my friends then too many twins game.
-
Killers that slug for the 4K
Killers that tunnel/camp at 4 or 5 gen (IMO, after that, all bets are tough)
Survivors that self care all the time with no sense of how the game is going
Survivors that kill themselves simply because of map/killer selection (I find the player controlling the killer can make any killer decent/toxic)
Survivors/killers that play this game like it is an esport and care too deeply about ranks. Red rank come naturally. Playing this game too seriously slowly sucks all fun out of it.
-
Maybe they make the game better with all the money get from rift event and outfits. If you want to give them more money, go ahead and do that, because this company has proven they don't deserve an extra dime from what they already soak out of people. Many problems exsist for years. Balance is busted. They don't response to racism, sexism or homophonic reports. They do not care about you.
Don't think for a second if they charged you more for the same thing that they would give anything back.
Most things mentioned by OP should already be in the game.
-
It really depends on the human playing the survivor TBH.
I consider all killers to be fine at first. it is those that camp on first hook, or Tunnel the first person they hook that I find them toxic and will drop out of the game first chance I get.
-
trolls exsist on all platforms. At 500 hours in this game I have not seen any specific number of trolls exsist more on 1 platform. Console players have a higher chance of DC'ing then anyone else, but anyone will die on first hook if annoyed.
Thinking console players are more trolls or toxic then PC players is an incorrect assumption.
-
Rank has 0 value. When players in this game realize it means nothing and just play the game and treat it as a game and not some ranking system to measure if they qualify for some esport team, they will be better off.
-
I have done 1 prestige 3 for the achievement and it around the dumbest thing I've ever done in a video game. Just a built in mechanic to force another farm in a game already too full of a grind.
When I'm asked what is the dumbest thing I've done in my life. Prestiging a character in this game will be in my Top 20.

I switched from PS4 to PC this year, probably around May or June. I currently have 304 hours on PC.
How do you make time for DBD and what do you have to sacrifice? I will not sacrifice my weightlifting even after working a 16hr day.
So what do you sacrifice to weight lift? Playing video games? Watching TV? Reading a book? spending time doing hundreds of other hobbies? Same basic answer. We all give up time in one thing to do another thing.

It's really not about the killer, it's about people not being able to adapt to the gameplay for it, you being good at it, and them not accepting that they haven't adapted. Some killers are easier to pick on than others because they're powerful in their own right, or they're abused by trolls to ruin the game for other players. Spirit is scary, but she isn't terrible to play against if you know how to survive. She's got tells and ways to avoid her notice. Of course, add-ons can kind of disrupt the usual expectations, but like I said, you must adapt to survive.
Just remember, it's not you, it's them. You can always give them a friendly reminder that if they want to escape, they can work on improving their skill. Or just tell them to git gud, it's really up to you.
What terrible advice. Often time is it the person fault. They could be camping or tunneling a lot and being super toxic or sweaty.
Slugging can be countered if someone brings specific perks, when a player has a TON of perk options, they won't have it equipred every game, so they counter 1 start with their build, they are opened up to 2 or 3 other possible strats.
Killers/like survivors can play like assclowns that think this is an esport game and be toxic players that make the game less fun. They should realize if they are called an asshat every game, they might just ben an asshat.
-
@GhostMaceNotCrusty said:
I like how they are, they show your that your actually good at the killer (most of the time)
I think the point is the level of effort required to adapt a survivor is about 20 times easier to adapt a killer. The balance is off. Killer adapt can still be easy as low ranks it is hard not to just crush survivors. Simply Derank a bit (since rank has ZERO value) and just easily cruise through them all.

enjoy your time outs from your dc! but you want to know something? I rarely get slugged.... usually it's a sweaty killer that is doing this to get the 4k, but you know what? it's not a probelm i'll just crawl away and hope he doesn't have deer stalker. you are the people that caused the issue of getting disconnect penalties. I support them and still call every dc an exploiter, yes you are exploiting an out of match function that is supposed to only be used if you get a game breaking bug or issue but no you use it to say you're a quitter, a whiner and the match didn't go your way so I hope you build up a large time out. I see dc's in about 25-50% of my matches for no reason. a few of those might be network issues but there is no way to tell
5 minute time outs are not a big deal. Slugging is much more common, even if you are lucky enough not to see it. You can see the uptick, in comments about it.
-
My biggest fault is I get toxic in chat when killers tunnel the first person they down at beginning of game, or slugging 2+ people or Noed. I have too many triggers.
-
Death threats have no place in a video game. Wishing someone were to die, I'm less annoyed by. I wish I would die every die. I don't hold that against myself.
I wish reporting people did anything. it does not. No matter what you provide, they will will respond and ask for more information. I have reported people for racism, homophobic comments, hate speech, death threats. It always comes down to "get more info" or do this additional thing. They don't really care
-
Look at that matchmaking. Sometimes I feel this game is created just to see how stupid we will be and how many hours we will sink into it before finally giving up and moving on.
