  • There are a ton of other games to play. it is ok to move on.

  • as a killer, I've never slugged for the 4k, and never will. I don't understand the "serious must give the last person a hatch chance" plays from killers.

There are 100% sweaty SWF that go out of their way to deny even 1 kill by killer though, so in many ways, players do this back and forth to themselves. I do understand a killer that may 4k solo queue after getting stomped on a SWF group though.

  • New game mode would probably involve them rethinking perks. I love the idea, but they built everything around this one game mode.

F13 game at least allowed their counselors to do multiple things. There wasn't just 1 goal. some worked on fixing cars, other worked on getting boat parts, other tried to fix the phone to call the cops. It was fun to have multiple options of things to do.

THAT kind of Bubba. The one that always stands still.

This is both the best and worst bubba. I play SWF often, so for me, the bubba gets 1 killer, and 3 escape every time with ease. in solo Q it is lame.

  • your definition of fun is probably being part of a toxic SWF .

Has anyone ever had a fellow survivor literally body block an exit after unhooking them?

I had a bad match where a survivor body blocked the exit and gave the legion the opportunity to down me. I took protection hits for this person and pulls that stunt. And all because I tried to make sure it was safe enough to unhook him and the other survivor after they both got downed and hooked in the basement on the Haddonfield map.

Then he goes and throws insults about intelligence, eyes and hearing. Seriously, if you've played this game long enough, people know its a gamble to unhook a teammate with a killer thats in close proximity. I try to avoid doing that especially when the killers proxy camp.

This honestly isn't the first time I got double crossed by a teammate.

I have seen survivors body block the exit lever. I have seen survivors run to unhook and just stand there and watch me me. Survivors at least will be ######### to each others as often as they are to killers.

    some people were never loved.

  • This happens to my group a couple times a week. one of us will lose connection as game starts, and the game takes about 30 to 60 seconds to realize what is going on and cancels it. This has never triggered the 5 minute penalty either for us. I'd say this happens 1 in 30 or so games.

  • I used to play about 50/50 survivor/killer but the open hostility/toxic/trolling of survivors takes away that fun for me.

I don't bother being toxic as a survivor as I don't enjoy that behavior as a killer, but so many people thrive on being toxic in this game I have too stressful of day with life/job/family. I wan't to relax when I play an online game. Some online games that are multiple are 100x less toxic then this one. I don't know what makes this one of the most toxic online games I've ever seen.

Say one game that has quick chat where players actually use it often in a match.

Quick chat would be the worst thing for the game. As stated in the quote, it would be a used for swearing at each other, cursing, racial slurs and in 1 in 100 games something relevant to the game.

  • My sanity. I love playing killer, but I'm not in the best place emotionally right now, and too many troll and toxic players could cause me to do something very bad to myself.

  • I find any killer that crutches on NOED to be both annoying and somewhat pathetic for not trusting their own skill. I don't find any specific killer that annoying.

  • I feel like this thread started off in a negative place. Such a shame.

  • Classic players that have been around longer saying "Back in my day Red ranks meant something B.S" Always need to find a way to make one self seem better then others. Classic

  • Survivors with Head on often kill themselves. 9 times of 10 they are safely hidden somewhere but jump out for an unnecessary stun. That perk often really helps the killer due to how those players play.

  • When playing SWF and bubba facecamps. we 5 gen and 3 of us escape every time

When I get in a solo game with 3 solo players against bubba, too many go for constant hook saves and we rarely escape. These bad plays do bug me a little, but I sort of just try to chill out more when solo play and realize I have to deal with people making these types of choices and just do my thing

  • It really feel like the same 12 people keep complaining about deathslinger at a very high rate here. A mid tier killer that has plenty of counter play is not a problem. there are 100+ issues with this game, and deathslinger issues shouldn't be in the top 500 issues to complain about.

  • Some challenges I see (I'm red rank survivor)

    • In many games, if someone doesn't run for the hooked person soon after hooked, (a high percentage of time) will just give up.
    • I 100% agree someone should always be on gens, and I often try to be that guy, as when I decide to go unhook, the other 2 solo players also decide to do this. I run kindred when I solo queue more to try to avoid this, although I hate wasting a slot on that perk.

Sometimes you will see a lot of people give up simply because

    • they don't like map
    • they don't like killer
    • the killer took a secret (probably Mori)
    • they see killer in first 30 seconds

Lets not forget other important reason why people might not do what OP said

    • People working challenges and focusing on them
    • people just having fun trying out new perk combos
    • people that have Thousands of hours and bored just doing whatever

Those last 3 are all valid and part of the game, but can frustrate their teammates because they are not helping in that specific game and another player gets update.

  • Honestly if killers wouldn't tunnel the first person so often it would be less of an issue or complaint. Mid to late game, anything goes, but those early game tunneling killers are just so annoying (and often cost themselves multiple gens for tunneling (assuming that survivor can dodge a little)

  • They care about all the money they get from skins and the Battle Pass many people buy. Until people slow down on that, I don't think they will care about much else.

  • That is weird. I see it happen more when 1 person disco's, but the fact they kill 1 person, then turn to friendly/killer farm mode is unusual.

  • I think that is a interesting point the OP made about # of perks for Gens.

I am confident many people would enjoy alternate methods to play this game. it might be far along for that to be realistic.

The Friday the 13thg ame did that element right. Up to 2 people could escape by boat. 2 different cars. One was for 4 people, one was for 2 people. The cops could be called, which let everyone escape a specific spot. Lots of different and fun ways (of course it had the sadly easy alternate method to also kill Jason, (sigh) but that game had a lot of more interesting options.

This game does a lot of other things right with interesting killers and some fun chases that can happeN (and only thing that keeps me intersted in the game) but the DO 5 gens, open gate, is lame. The hatch is there for that last person or of course the broken no fun key escape.

  • I have no problem with the approach to this. I'd love complaining as much as the next guy, but if they make the two events they plan on putting effort into cool, then I'm all for this change. if those two events really suck, then we probably can complain a little :)

False. Solo survivors have tp rely on other survivors regardless of skill rank.

Just yesterday i played a match where i a long with all the other survivors lost the match to a Jake trying to get the archive challenge of saboing 12 hooks (collectively not all in the same trial. He would sabo hooks near generators being worked on and we all lost because he wanted to complete his archive challenge in one trial.

Solo survivors have it more rough then groups for sure. A group of 4 solo players can go bad. Especially when they fall for things like basement bubba or other things. That is about the only scenario where the killer has a chance.

We are tired of reading "noob" killers like you continuing the myth that killers are weak in this game.

Official stats reavealed that killers have an average of 68% kill rate, including console killers in these stats. We all know how bad console players are, especially when you are a PC survivor. You directly know when you face a console killer, they have bad aim (input device is bad) etc...

Killer is hard only against a competent SWF, 5% of the game, cleary.

    Hi

You are wrong. Thanks for your feedback. Killers are weaker then survivors. If a killer goes against the survivor SWF, the killer will lose way more then they win. This is not a debate. Too many sources can prove this and do again and again on these forums.

  • I play this game because I love the horror aspect and the Friday the 13th game failed harder then this. This game has many problems, but no one else has made in the genre that is similar. I would gladly play something else, but this still has many elements I love, even though it often fails TERRIBLY at playing out those ideas.

The OP calls out 1 in 10 games being fun. I would quit if my experience was that bad. While no other game is like this one, that is too poor of an experience to continue IMO.

I would say I enjoy somewhere around 5.5/10 games. It is on the edge of what I consider acceptable, but I do play with friends, which helps keep me interested. Playing solo killer it is a solid 50/50 on if it is fun. I don't need to kill 3+ to consider it a fun game, but I feel locked into a limited number of perks to have a chance, and then when I do well, I'm called trash or worse in end game chat by survivors with all tier1 perks but I'm the ######### for playing the game.

  • If a killer tunnels early, is it becuse someone did a really unsafe hook and they person that did the unhook didn't have Borrowed time? If so, then that can be more of the survivors fault the killer.

If a killer really does tunnel early, if survivors are playing well, 3 to 4 gens should be done in that time. This will lead to killer at best gettiing just 1 kill. This is a loss for the killer. Sucks to be that one guy, but your team won. Good job

  • This game is easier for survivors. Maybe at the lowest ranks with all new players who are all playing badly, the killer may do slightly better, but once people have a few hours of gameplay and/or play with friends. Killers are the weak link of this game.

Tunneling/camping at high rank may at best give the killer 1 kill before game is over and all Gens are going, and most bully squads can easily clear 5 gens, and deal with a tunnerer/camper with ease.

The exception is the players with 3,000+ hours that face off against players with les then a couple hundred, but that also plays out as it should. (this happens often enough to do terrible/awful/pathetic matchmaking)

  • @Zayn said:

Farming killers are really boring and it should be considered an offense of some sort. Waiting 10 minutes in que just to go up against a killer who doesn't want to play the game properly is one of the worst feelings.

The grind in this game is really long and boring and should be considered offensive to more players. Give us more freedom of time not to waste grinding perks, but actually play the game with them.

  • Just go into the first 10 to X games with a new killer knowing you are going probably have everyone escape. Focus on trying to learn some element of the killer every game and don't even focus on how good the survivors are.

It doesn't matter how good they are doing in your learning game. Just pickup the timing of abilities and movement of that killer. Who cares what those survivors thing. heck, They will probably leave the game thinking they are the best thing ever, and so what. You know your just practicing and whatever they think does not matter at all.

I've gone into plenty of matches with huntress just to practice long distance throwing. Never bother hooking a down survivor when I manage to hit once twice. Just let the others pick him up and get back to what I'm doing. Ignore the game state when you are learning. THis is a mental exercise more then anything.

  • I brought a green key as I had quest to full deplete 3 green keys. Quest complete in 3 games. This also summons Moris in addition to Franklin

  • When a killer is trying to farm with survivors it doesn't always work. most survivors will join in and farm points as well (often the killer will take a 100% all BP type skill) But some survivors either don't realize it, don't' care, or just want to do weird things to the killer. Having said that, it works out a lot more then it doesn't. Sometimes the killer is farming a weird challenge as well, so they are trying to do a 2 for 1 sort of thing.

This game has such a stupid unnecessary grind mechanic to it. There is no reason we need to farm points as much as we do.

I feel like the company doesn't trust the player base enough to remove so much of the blood point grind. People will play the game if it is fun. People don't need this over the top grind to be forced into playing. I will play until the game is not fun enough. The blood point grind just makes the entire process a little less fun then it could be.

  • When you are doing challenges with most killers you can find many ways to signal to players you are not trying to WIN and are up to something. I find that 1 in 2 games, or at worst 1 in 3 games, I can communcate very well to survivors when I need to do something specific and we just accomplish that and farm the quests

Those other games are amusing because the survivors are playing super serious when it is very clear the killer is not in any way trying ot hit them, but they are still acting all sweaty.

  • Blood warden does ntohing because of the 99%

I wish the doors at least lost progress somewhat quickly

  • When a game starts and the first person down is tunneled, it is annoying. Often not a great strategy, but really not a fun experience for survivor. Camping is also a pain for that survivor and not fun, but both tatctics can lose the killer the game or only get them 1 kill if other survivors are smart

  • @duhffee said:

I've been seeing a lot of killer mains posting their annoyance about the lack of bloodlust this weekend and I only have one thing to say about that:

If you are experiencing survivors escaping more often this weekend and feel no bloodlust is the issue, you're finally seeing the skill-gap those particular survivors have compared to you.

Bloodlust is the equivalent of throwing GTA V's catch-up feature from races into a proper Forza race. It's a subtle crutch that gives killers an edge they wouldn't normally have, even when they're already faster.

If a survivor is getting away more, then they are ultimately outplaying you. There will always be small outliers, but claiming bloodlust is the difference maker is not a reasonable excuse.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

If this game was perfectly balanced, this logic would be accurate. This game is poorly balanced, therefore the statement is flawed

  • I say this 10 times a day, but matchmaking in this game is awful. The developers should ashamed at how bad it is. I have not seen an online game in over 15 years have as bad matchmaking as this game.

  • @chieften333 said:

Throughout my playtime of dead by daylight I've been around for a lot of the good bad. Heck, I still remember when DS was a get out of jail free card.

I will be the first to admit, the devs have implemented good changes. Like the end game collapse, the ruin and DS reworks, graphical overhauls, and killer reworks.

Despite all of the good changes, the bad continually manages to shine through.

By now I'm pretty sure we're well aware of how bad BHVR's coding is. They manage to somehow break the game everytime they update it. They change one thing, and somehow some seemingly unrelated thing is now broken beyond belief. The fact that makes this even more annoying is they have refused to take a chapter off to fix their spaghetti code. Resulting in even more bugs every update.

For another thing console optimization was promised over two years ago. Now technically they delivered on this, but only on next gen. Despite the fact that they promised to hit 60fps across all playable consoles. I shouldn't have to drop about $600 dollars just to get optimization that was promised.

Plus I shouldn't even have to bring up how out of wack perk and map balance is. Making this even worse is how a few killers outshine the rest by a wide margin. Despite how long the other killers have been in the game, they have not been brought up to par for some time.

My final point for this tirade is the [BAD WORD] show that they called a Halloween event. First, they take away the event currency that allowed everyone to get free outfits. Despite having it in the game for the past 2 halloween events. Not only that, the event can barely even be called one. The only thing that made it slightly special was the drab looking hooks and generators. By the time the onslaught of negative feedback came through, the only thing they offered us was some iridescent shards, only enough for one event outfit. If no one had complained, we would have never seen any login rewards or even a bloodhunt.

Overall the devs have set a pretty horrible standard for themselves. I used to hope they could get past everything to make a great game. But they have continually shown that they aren't capable.

By the way this isn't some "I'm quitting" post. I'm still going to play the game, mostly because it's the only surviving game of it's niche. I just wish the devs could get over themselves.

The I'm going to play this as no other game exists like this, is the only reason many of us still play it

  • it takes a lot of disconnects to get to 6 hours. No issue here

  • @RoboMojo said:

Is it really that important to win? I mean I get it, it feels good to get that 4K or have a flawless 4 man escape but c'mon, winning isn't that important. Like what, if you don't get that 4K are the Devs gonna shoot your mom or something? Otherwise I don't understand why you care THAT much about winning. Was it really necessary to slug that baby dweet until he bled out so that you could get your 4K? Probably not, lol. I mean there comes a point where trying to win becomes a chore. No one could enjoy slugging the third person and searching for two minutes to find the 4th and meanwhile as survivor, doing all the gens in three minutes and escaping without even so much as seeing the killer couldn't possibly be fun right? Prioritizing winning over fun makes every loss sting that bit more and every win feeling kind of shallow if the majority of the match was boring. Am I missing some secret thrill to sweating or something? It sounds more stressful then fun to me.

Watch one of the many Toxic survivor steamers that are popular (especially at night) These people will crush the killers 6 to 8 hours a night and the one game the killer does well in 7 hours they will excuse them of being 'try hard". Their audience Loves this. They get more viewers because of this.

I can't imagine getting so good at this game and play with the some group of friends for 6 hours a day just crushing killers and being as toxic as possible and NOT getting bored at some point. These people love being try hard toxic survivors so much, they build a cult following, and half the streamers gimmick is to ban/pile on anyone in chat that ask they why they are so toxic

so to answer you question, because some people love to crush others and for some reason never get bored of easy mode (which SWF survivor with over 1,000 hours of experience)

  • So we still want to know WHY you want to turn off crossplay to both PS4 and PC. I'll donate money to charity if you explain the logic of wanting to avoid other console players.

  • It is a sad question that is asked every day forever here. The worst matchmaking system of any online game

  • Killers love players with Self care. Keep Self care

  • @[Deleted User] said:

all that effort aint going to waste because of stupid rng, in fact i enjoy slugging to make it excruatingly slow and tense for the remaining survivor

slow and tense and equally boring and a time waste for the one being slugged.

  • playing with friends is fun. A bad game can be fun with playing with friends. This game is more fun with friends and stacks the odds you the survivor favor.

The only amusing thing from the OP post is how ######### terrible this matchmaking system is. I have yet to see another online game do matchmaking as poor as this game. The developers responsible for it should be ashamed.

  • A killer managed to kill someone in a 4 man SWF. Therefore all bloodlust is disabled for the weekend to adjust for this crime.

  • I guess we have killers that only count 4k as wins which is a good counter to survivors that are only happy if all 4 get away.

I think that is the larger problem.

  • It is not an issue. It rarely happens and when it does, you can still get BP a few different ways. YOu may depip, but who cases.

What does that pip get you? Nothing

What does pip loss do to you? - Nothing

  • @Switzerland44 said:

Whats the point of this post? Its an online game with people at varying skill levels, find some friends and get on voice chat if you want an elite team.

Survivors yelling at survivors is at least better then them yelling at killers, or killers yelling at survivors.

The OP probably has a set of rules what a killer must do or they will disco and die on first hook, and now rules for what other players must do.

This is like a game within a game within game.

  • depending on how much I play, and who I play with I can be in red ranks as survivor and go to up to 10 at reset. I notice NOED is much more common with Rank 10 or worse killer ranks. very few higher level killers bother with it. So I expect it when facing certain level killers and worry more about it then.

1 2 3 4 5 … 7
