Rank resets on the 13th of each month. Last night was not the 13th.
Exactly. Anyone else having this issue? It normally happens after the server has a lag spike it seems.

I honestly wish Dev's would look at posts like this and rethink how perks like BT don't need a nerf...
-
Well... the amount of DCs i've been experiencing with killers who cant counter-loop in red ranks is more staggering. Everyone cries.

Yeah. I love how it takes Killers 3 seconds to kick a gen, but Survivors take 1 frame of animation to stop it.
I think the devs once said Survivors were not supposed to be able to gen-tap like they do, but then shrugged and let it continue, because Survivors need to be happy. 🤷♂️
I mean, ya'll can tunnel a survivor out and completely ruin their game... so.....

Historically, this whole thing ends up being a fruitless argument. So I'll just drop this here and then leave the thread.
In about 3.5 years of DBD, playing about 70% Survivor and 30% Killer, having been to red ranks on both sides(once on each side was enough for me. If I get to the point now where I'm about to pip to rank 4, I go play something else till the reset), I can make the following observations:
1)The vast majority of the 'dregs' of this game exist on both sides, and particularly from ranks 1-4.
2)At any rank, most of those 'dregs' seem to be PC players. At least, that is what I have observed post-crossplay, and from playing on PC as well over the past year or so.
3)When it comes to post-match salt and 'You need to play the way I say or uninstall' BS, Survivors win the Gold Medal. I have yet, in all of those 3.5 years of play, to be taunted or lambasted post-match by a Killer. Ever. I have, however, had them tell me 'GG' with some regularity. Survivors, on the other hand, it's about 50-60% of the time, and I've been called every racist, sexist, homophobic and xenophobic slur in the dictionary.
My work here is done.
Bait is obvious bait.

Please... I beg you BHVR.... please turn back on DC penalties... this use to be a fun game.... I can't take the constant teammates DCing.... its being abused so badly...

I have it opposite, ranking and piping as survivor is too easy.
But I would make it for difficult for both sides. Too many in red ranks who dont belong there (me included)
I've had great matches before too, don't get me wrong. It just seems like this event has really highlighted how badly the survivors have it. I also agree it could use tweaking for both sides.

One of my favourite things is getting a bronze benevolent emblem because the killer didn't hit or down anyone for rank point opportunities
Agreed, I think a new way of looking at how a survivor can be evaluated would be great - I've done 4 gen runs before and down piped because I couldnt get the killer to drop the chase so I could do any other objectives. It may seem rewarding but its also like... great...

I have had this problem too during the event. Rank 1 both roles but survivor has been exceedingly difficult to stay up there in the face of all the afkers and bad killers. At this point I kind of have to play greedy in the good matches I do get so I always merciless just to counteract it.
As far as solutions, I think the only real thing they could do is make it so you always at least safety pip if you get out alive. That might embolden really lame survivors who wait for hatch or whatever, but at least it would prevent the absolute frustration of de-ranking because you won too hard lmao. I suppose it could be if two survivors make it out then you safety to avoid that abuse.
Its funny you mention that, I had the same idea with some friends who play about at least neutraling if you make it out. Atleast the unfun matches wouldn't result in undue frustration. The idea that you can win too hard as survivor is really kinda bad when a killer can 4k slug at 4-5 gens and still make it out with a brutal. Perhaps its asking for too much, I don't know lol.

yawn, there are crap players on bothsides my friend. The sooner you realize rank / anyone elses fun doesnt matter. The better. I run meta perks on survivor, not to dick over the next killer - but to give myself a better chance against the tunnelers, campers and meta killer players that we run into on a consistent basis. shrug another day in DBD.

Man, if ya'll hate the company so much there are plenty of other games out there haha

Because they have it easy. They also have the majority. Think of school, a bully doesn't normally just be alone. They move in a group, seclude 1 person, and then make fun from that persons expense.
Take Dead by Daylight. It's 4 survivors VS 1 Killer. The game is catered to survivors. They have an easier time playing. They have a less stressful game. It requires less work to achieve their objective, and less work to achieve their games goal. They are even rewarded success in most cases when not completing that objective. They have every incentive that they feel protected to be able to make fun out of the Killer's expense.
That's why there is so much toxicity in this game.

No it doesn't, especially not to this extent.
You must not play very many online games my friend lol

Whats the point of this post? Its an online game with people at varying skill levels, find some friends and get on voice chat if you want an elite team.

This post makes me laugh, I have seen my fair share of overly toxic killers - not all of you are benevolent masters lol. People get toxic when they are the last ones left in a round and you wanna spin in circles with the last guy down reving your chainsaw or tea bagging with ghost face. Everyone is toxic, just deal with it and play the game.
