It's mostly fine. I would be OK with the timer depleting twice as fast while working on a gen but that's about it. None of this "deactivate if you do anything other than stand still" BS.
The only times I am hit by DS (which is probably once every 50 games) is when I'm not paying attention to who got unhooked when. And that's easily fixed by.. paying attention.
-
Cringey.
-
I only do it to obnoxious survivors who follow me around the ######### map trying and failing to flashlight save or body block at every possible opportunity.
-
Nah, I'm good. I'm gonna keep teabagging when it's called for. Online competitive games may not be for you.

That's actually a very good point.
Thanks :)

Tbh I'm not even sure why survivors can be unhooked at all, even by other survivors. It should be one hook and instant death. That would be a nice nerf to DS.
-
A big part of going against Bubba is placement. Try to stick to areas with windows, pallets and walls. On some maps that's pretty difficult, especially with certain gens being out in the open. But yeah, any decent Bubba is always going to get you out in the open. Not sure if he needs a slight nerf necessarily, but we'll see.

Nothing about this game depresses me because I wouldn't play a video game that was depressed me. Wacky philosophy you should try sometime.
-
I wonder how many people who pretty much never play survivor upvoted that second post.
Getting proxy camped, hard camped or tunneled are a regular occurrence. Do they happen every game? No. Every other game? No. Do they always happen to ME personally in the trial? No. Is it always to be toxic? No, sometimes it's the smartest move that killer could make. But they happen plenty. Suggesting they rarely happen is pretty absurd, IMO. Sometimes you log in to play and it's the very first 1 or 2 matches straight you get tunneled or camped and it's enough to shut the game off for the day.
And claiming 99% of toxicity comes from survivors is some extreme bias. But you do you. Easy upvotes on this forum.
-
The spinning around like a madman is actually cool because it reminds me of a scene from Jacob's Ladder (original, not remake. Great horror film).
When you start hitting on the hook it stops being funny. Not anger inducing, though, just eye roll inducing.
-
A single dollar for an entire page of rewards? That makes no sense. A single skin costs $11-15
-
Oni vs. Spirit: Oni, he's older and wiser with a bigger weapon
Bubba vs. Billy: Billy, he's faster
Ghostface vs. Pig: Ghostface, his knife is longer so I feel like he'd have better reach
Freddy vs. Michael Myers: Freddy, he technically has 8x as many weapons as Michael
Legion (Frank) vs. Doctor: Legion, he's faster
Huntress vs. Trapper: Huntress, she's got range
Wraith vs. Plague: Wraith, much more deadly weapon
Phead vs. Demogorgon: Pyramid Head, he could crush Demo before he got within 6 feet lol
Clown vs. Blight: Blight. Come on, Clown is a mess
Hag vs. Nurse: Nurse, she's got height advantage and longer reach with her knife
-
I don't think 2 killers would be able to keep track of and pressure 8 survivors enough tbh. Even if more gens were needed.
Then there's also situations via RNG and on certain maps where each killer could patrol their own 3 gens OR they could both patrol the same 4 gens and it would be very difficult to accomplish much.
I'd be more interested in some kind of survival mode. It's 1 killer VS 8 survivors and only the last survivor alive gets a chance to escape. Obviously it would need to be tweaked a lot to work. But traditional DBD gameplay with 2 killers wouldn't work IMHO.

Survivors can also exploit it by wiggle running: unless the Killer waits to regular attack them it'll throw off the lunge attack - you'll lunge but not actually move forward.
It's a very common thing on console especially.
So the solution is to wait until you're close enough to do a regular attack? I think I often lunge by default tbh so maybe I'm relying on the lunge too much.
@Moundshroud said:
Well... it COULD be a lag spike initiated by someone cheating you. How often does this happen?
Not like every match but often enough.
Thanks everyone for the answers!

Although correct, my biggest issue with this counter play is Hag is usually heading right back to the hook anyway: she arrives before survivors have managed to get out of range of the traps, making the effort of avoiding setting traps off a complete waste of time, and exactly why I hate Hag so much.
Yeah if the Hag is headed back to the hook it's practically a lose - lose situation.
-
I've probably done it twice ever.
-
It's not true that as soon as you start unhooking the trap triggers. Once you can press the unhook button do so and your character will position themselves correctly and it will not set off the trap. Once you unhook or are unhooked, immediately crouch THEN move.
-
Yeah and the realization that there is no obsession, and therefore no Decisive, is enough to make nearly every killer tunnel.
-
At least you CAN lobby dodge if you see a key.
-
What do you guys do when you play a game that doesn't have distinct sides like killer and survivor? For instance, Call of Duty? If you can't clearly separate the people you think are civilized and uncivilized into two obvious groups? Do you maybe just play the game?
Try doing that. It works wonders.

I'd simply remove the cooldown. Maybe lower the range of it a bit so it doesn't steal Deja Vu's.. niche?
I think the cooldown only exists because they needed a way to make it follow the 3 tier structure. Which is silly. It should have another effect.
-
Did you know that in real life you don't respawn? You can't heal a giant meat hook through the shoulder by hovering your hands over it for 16 seconds?
Also imagine asking for auto aim in DBD lol.
-
I'm also still convinced that they have Candyman with a map waiting in the wings for when the movie will finally come out lol.
-
I think one of the reasons they are not providing a road map is because they aren't sure when they'll be releasing new maps vs reworking older ones. Even without a roadmap the pattern has still been chapter with new content, then 1.5 months later a midchapter focus on balance and reworks, then 1.5 months later a new chapter, etc.
The other stuff, like rank rewards, prestige rework, hit detection, cross progression, skill based matchmaking, etc. they don't have a solid enough idea of when they will be released so they don't want to commit to a roadmap. MMR and hit detection have needed a lot of tweaking, for instance.
-
I think it should be 25% at tier 3.
-
I swear to

I've seen the opposite with NOED: all the totems had been cleansed, yet NOED was still active. It had never happened before and hasn't happened since, which makes me think it's either an extremely rare bug, or the result of someone cheating.
Something similar happened to me once. Ruin was active and there was no totem for it.

It's funny - I remember one of the saddest things I've ever seen posted on a forum was in the final days of a game called Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. A Developer made some patch notes long after the game went into matience mode, even invited people to comment. 4 days later, the thread had 1 reply from 1 player. "Who cares."
Complaining about changes is just a sign people still care. That's a good thing, IMHO.
To say everyone who complains is someone who cares is a stretch, to say the least. There's people who spew nothing but negativity about this game and the devs. I think it's more a sign they have nothing better going on with their lives.
The people who say "I haven't played DBD in months/years and I came back for a day and this, this, and this are awful." That's caring?

I mean 1m would obviously accomplish next to nothing. 8m can extend the window block to several more windows. Not really sure what YOUR point is, as I addressed the opinion that they could still be bad perks in the very comment you replied to

Except the flaw in that is what if Meg is spotted before she gets on a gen and uses her SB in that chase? She’s gonna know Mindbreaker is equipped anyway the first time she can jump on a gen and notice her SB exhaustion isn’t recovering.
OK? It's still an improvement over what it is now.
-
@BioX said:
Mindbreaker still has the weird design choice of literally telling the survivor its in play the moment they are on a gen and will still have the nice little countdown telling them exactly when its over so they can use their sprintburst.
so yeah, still trash...
Cruel Limits idk, would have to test.
I think it's just because that's how exhaustion works. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to change, but it's a cool idea and a nice buff if survivors didn't know they were exhausted until they started to run. And it wouldn't be too strong because it would only be a surprise the first time it happened.
-
Not sure why buff is on quotes? They were made stronger, so that's a buff. Are they good yet? That's debatable but they were buffed regardless.
Plus they might get more of a buff after the PTB. That's what the PTB is for, after all.
-
If the survivor and killer are on top of the hatch as it's about to open then the killer will always be able to close it faster than the survivor can jump. So there's no hatch grab necessary.
-
I think it'll become more popular for sure. But meta? No. I'll definitely give it a shot to see how I like it.
It might be taboo to admit, but even as someone with multiple thousands of hours in this game, I still regularly miss skill checks because I'm not paying attention. And there's always that obnoxious skill check that hits AFTER you have already stopped repairing.

Nope. It is back to nurse and just less killer variety for survivors.
I have absolutely no idea what people are talking about when they say this. With crossplay I am consistently getting different killers, often several games in a row before a repeat.
Maybe the people who keep bringing up this inane argument just do not ever play survivor so they have no idea what the experience is like.
Also, acting like there's not strong killers other than Nurse is just nonsense.

No one ever complained about Pop, even though it's argueable the best and most balanced killerperk in the game rn.
The majority of the community complains about DS, BHVR said they are "looking into it", yet do nothing.
Meta perks are getting nerfed, so how is it unrelated to ds?
I've heard plenty of people complain about Pop but ok. Morf calls it Pop Goes the Braincell for instance.
-
I think adding Overcharge would be good too because as soon as someone realizes they are exposed and you can see their aura they're going to want to run, making them more likely to miss the OC skill check.

Camping aid kits and emergency med kits let survivors heal one state with their 16 charges. But, when adding bandages or self-adherent wrap to a first aid kit (24 + 8 =32), the last 16 charges only cover 99.9% of the heal and cannot be completed without external aid. Is there an extra small percentage level actually required to fully heal?
Thank you for pointing this out! This has happened to me so many times and I think "okay I need to remember to report this on the forums" and then I immediately forget.
Hopefully this gets fixed ASAP because it's been in the game since the medkit rework I believe.
-
Or maybe, and hear me out on this, just because the devs nerf one thing does not mean they need to nerf something else that is completely unrelated.

Dont forget at 10:55 he discredits the people who say its anti momentum because peanits quote was about old ds new ds the other devs say is about anti tunnel or else it wouldnt require a unhook.
No, he does not say peanits' quote was about old DS. He basically said "OK peanits said anti momentum but 3 other devs have said anti tunnel" and then says only old DS was anti momentum. They are two separate thoughts. Even if that was what he said, it'd be wrong because peanits WAS talking about new DS.

You guys seem to have difficulty in understanding why it's a dumb idea to look away from a gen. If I'm approaching a gen that's straight ahead, I can use my eyes to locate a survivor that runs right or left. If I'm over here moonwalking to a gen and they still see me, well guess what they are long gone and I have no idea where they went.
Spine chill has a larger detect radius than the terror radius of every killer. And since I don't have a distance gauge on my UI, I could be moonwalking for 40-50m like an idiot.
It's such a stupid "counter". But you do you i guess.
Then... don't moonwalk. Look to the side. 🤦

Not only is the "counter" annoying af but in many cases you will miss what´s actually going on for looking at the tree while approaching a gen. You won´t know if they noticed you and moved away. You won´t know if there were other survivors.
I still hope someone can give me an answer though on how to reliably stalk survivors as Myers and GF without looking at them, hence completely negating my advantage of being "Undetectable" and, by extension, my power.
You obviously can't. Maybe hide better? Plenty of times my SC will light up and stay lit up and I look around like "######### where is this dude" and by the time I see Myers or GF peeking out from behind a tree they've already gotten plenty of stalk progress.
You can also stalk them while they run away, FYI. And if they are crouching around trying to avoid your LoS then that means they won't get much distance as you close in on them. Position yourself better.
Sorry that SC sometimes makes it so you can't completely fill your meter in one, uninterrupted stalk session, but that's why counter play exists.
