Would make sense to have Bloohunt for new chapter ...

Is that cause of VhS ? Kekw

Maybe little bit of that, definitely to make all the BP hoarders use their BP before new chapter so they have to grind again without help of bloodhunt to level up new characters. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I'm...okay with it being kills on the killer side of things. I'm not sure how this could really be better without getting overcomplicated.

Survivors - yes. It needs to be more nuanced. It's absurd that the Claudette who hid all game increases in MMR while the Yun that ran me for 3 gens but died on hook doesn't.

For killer could have number of hooks before each kill. You hook a player once and camp them your mmr will only go up slightly for the kill, you hook them 3 times and it increases greatly. It's just a small change but it would make a difference, especially with the killers that get stuck in a chase all match. A killer that chases one survivor for 5 gens and camps to secure the kill isn't as skilled as the killer that got 9 hooks with 1 kill - their MMR shouldn't increase the same.

Survivors definitely need the change. My swf teammate and I are consistently matched with teammates that are just useless/hiding. They don't even break 10k BP escaping through hatch while my teammate and I die with 15-20k+ (depending on match). I'm tired of deathloop because there's only so much my swf teammate and I can do in a basically nonstop 2v1. We're not getting 50/50 escape/death at all and the matches themselves just aren't fun.

  • They need to adjust SBMM to be more than just kills/escapes.

  • Yup. Trickster blades are just so bright and don't fit in.

  • Just making cooldown only happen with successful sabotage would be enough for me. The fact it goes into cooldown from accidently tapping the button when you're going for a heal makes it not worth running.

  • Only console that is even talked about cross progression is Switch and there's no ETA when that will happen. This was most recent update on it.

Yesterday, we announced Dead by Daylightโ€™s inclusion in the Epic Games Store catalogue. While weโ€™re thrilled to provide cross-platform progression between Epic, Steam, and Stadia at launch, we also realize this may raise some questions regarding the arrival of cross-progression for Switch, announced last year.

On any platform our goal is always to deliver the best, most consistent cross-progression experience we can that includes everything our players have purchased to date. Due toย technical aspects beyond our control,ย transferring DLC between all platforms has not been possible, significantly impacting that experience. As a result, while we remain dedicated to doing everything we can to resolve the issue, we can no longer provide a clear ETA on when cross-progression will be available on Switch.

Weโ€™ll keep you posted with any new updates as we continue working on the matter.ย We understand a lot of you are looking forward to this feature (we are too!) and we appreciate your patience!

We merged the multiple threads about the Blood Hunt in a single thread, to avoid clogging the sections.

Merging explains why my notifications said I had 9 notifications but my post was at 4 pages. Seemed like comments in that post took a random turn, amusing but random. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I love you DBD community, I really do. When I made this post just sharing bloodhunt dates I did not expect it to turn into what it did but coming back to these notifications was quite amusing and I thank you all. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I used to consider pipping or being only one to die or dying to save teammate a win but since SBMM and the devs saying win for a survivor is only the survivor escaping, nothing else in match matters, I now only consider myself escaping a win.

  • Thats like saying hook/sacrifice challenges make killers "kill rush" ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Nothing. They should make it so people that receive them get a little notification to add some positivity in the game.

I love when I accidently hit the "done" button part way through and have to start over from the beginning typing in the code. Waiting in queue for a match is quicker than typing with a controller. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Nah. Play Doctor if you want built in Whispers and Deerstalker.

  • Saboteur mostly because the cool down happens even when you don't sabotage a hook. It'd be like if a killer's gen kick perk went into cooldown if they didn't fully kick a gen like from Blastmine going off.

I've played a lot of Survivor since MMR came out. I was playing with my friend who has well over 100 days. Here's what our teammates had.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4EC5ZWQ6QB4T/20211123-013533.jpg

    This was Meg's first game.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LQMI27ELWLVW/20211123-013557.jpg

Dwight is slightly more experienced. Still, 1K hour Killer, 2K hour Survivor, 3K hour Survivor and then 13 hours between the last two.

That end game score board is most of my matches with my swf teammate. Our teammates rarely if ever break 10k even if they get hatch when everyone else dies. Teammate and I are in what feels like a neverending death loop because we keep getting randoms that just don't do anything while we make saves, work on gens, interact with killer, etc. Our teammates are either just dying quickly or hiding waiting for hatch. Old rank system the scores were more consistent across the team, occasionally you'd get a match like that but now it's like every single match and it's not fun.

  • @RainehDaze said:

Okay, but the problem with the intentional "make your own fun" thing is that the MMR does not care that you're playing to another set of objectives, it's just going to score you on your performance according to its criteria.

Which leads to the same sort of problems as smurfing and teams having someone take a dive to drop their overall MMR: it plops the high-MMR player amongst people they're vastly outmatching, which makes the other side not have fun.

    This. So much this.

  • Bubba, Nemesis, Huntress, Freddy, Doctor and Mikey are the ones I see the most frequently. Bubba probably the most frequent of them all though. He gets alot of 3/4k because in 2swf the 2 randoms kill self on hook or don't focus on gens if off hook so his camping gets rewarded every time.

See some Blight, Pinhead, Pig, Wraith, Twins, Hag, Plague, Ghostface, Legion, Clown, Spirit, and Trickster.

Rarely if ever see Trapper, Billy, Demo, Nurse, Pyramid Head, Deathslinger, and Oni.

  • Making my profile private was the best decision. I may miss out on ggs BUT knowing someone that's toxic can't message me and instead has to keep it to themself brings me more joy than any gg ever could.

BHVR should make it so players get notified for thumbs up. Then players that only leave chat/messages open for gg can close those down and only use thumbs up for nice gg.

  • They need to put more into what goes into MMR, the escape/kills being only thing isn't giving you players of equal skill.

Someone that is a team player helping everyone and working the objective shouldn't keep getting stuck with players that just wait for others to do the work/die. The "you'll just get easier next match if you die/get 0k" just leads to a killer getting bullied or a survivor getting matched with bad survivors against a killer that destroys them - both scenarios are not fun and very few feel evenly matched.

They could put a rating attached to load out. To do this though everyone (survivor and killers) would have to lock in their load out during "find match" - you click "ready" to find a lobby you better have your load out ready, no changing up once in lobby. This way someone running crap perks isn't being matched against others running meta. It would encourage a variety of load outs. If you're going in with sweaty build you should expect sweaty match, if you're going in with casual build you should get casual match.

This game is 5 years old - I can't believe in 5 years with atleast 1 year dedicated to changing match making on a team of 300 that they can't do better than just escape/kills.

  • @Liam282 said:

Or you could just have a symbol beside the characters (gen, hex, chase, gate, roaming) that clearly tells everyone in the group what's going on. (Yes this is from Vhs, but it's commonsense for solo players.)

I think VHS took that player DBD player suggestions because solo players have been requesting that for the longest time now. There's alot VHS is adding that I've seen players beg DBD to put in their game for years now. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Hackers are already ruining the game so may as well turn off DC penalties until they solve the hacker problem, especially since hackers can hold someone hostage in a game for hours. Saw SpookNJukes video where a hacker kept holding his game hostage for the 2 hour match limit. Luckily he could just switch from ps5 to PC but not many others have that option.

  • I'm hoping removing smart face is a deal breaker for the license holder and Bubba gets removed. Not many were playing Bubba except for memes before Billy nerf. To get more buying/playing Bubba they nerfed Billy so Bubba would be the more appealing chainsaw killer. Remove Bubba - Billy can return to his glory days as #1 chainsaw killer and racist players won't be able to harass with blackface killer, it's a win/win.

  • Catching 3 survivors at the same time in traps randomly placed around the map. Thought it was a sound glitch until I looked at my HUD. ๐Ÿ˜‚

When I played solo survivor there were some pretty great teamwork moments with randoms where we all just clicked. Some awesome end game saves.

Few times where my whole team has been down/hooked and I managed to get them up and distract killer long enough for us to get a reset. What should've been 3/4k ended up being 4 escape.

I used to get HUD glitch few times a month where I would have no HUD at all. The times I managed to complete gens/heals without being able to see skill checks/progress and escape were pretty great, felt like I was playing on hardcore mode. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Before SBMM I used to boop or die trying. More often than not I would be camp/tunneled out because way more pig's don't like it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The pig's that do allow you to boop will give you a chance to get one or two boops in but then play normal. It's not many that reward boops with farms/letting you live.

  • It used to annoy me but now I'm fine with it. I'd rather a teammate leave the match than stay in just hiding and being useless. Atleast if someone quits the killer might show bit of mercy.

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2648563#Comment_2648563

They may be easy to get, but aren't always the right play. I guess maybe now in the CoH age. You can't have the perk do absolutely nothing if they don't meet that threshold though. It just won't happen some matches. Getting 4 WGLF stacks is very rare for me, no matter how hard I try.

Why can't the perk do nothing if you don't meet the requirements? Plenty of perks on both sides have requirements you need to meet or else you can't use them.

Deliverance requires you to make a safe unhook before you get hooked, if you don't meet that requirement you can't use it. Devour Hope requires the killer to get multiple hooks, be a certain distance away when player is unhooked AND their totem still be up to get use from that perk. I can list more examples from both sides if you'd like.

Just because you run a perk doesn't mean you are guaranteed to use it.

  • All gens and hooks are event gens and hooks.

Everytime a gen is completed all survivors in match are rewarded with BP.

Killers earn event BP everytime they hook a survivor.

Event offering increases event BP earned and is stackable for everyone in the match.

Bloodwebs have atleast 2 event offerings and 2 event items each - could definitely have more.

Community challenge for gens completed and survivors hooked (NOT kills/escapes). Awards all original killers and survivors with holiday outfit without having to play every single one. First challenge head, second torso/body, and third legs/weapon.

Side challenge for extra BP if it wouldn't cause performance issues - survivors build snowmen, killers knock them down.

  • Iron Will should just remove injured sounds, not all sounds from survivor.

  • I think the RNG was broken some time ago. Pallets like this and gens basically side by side have been like this since before Pinheads chapter. As survivor I've even seen 2 hex totems that felt like I only walked a few steps between them.

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2648498#Comment_2648498

That's too steep in my opinion, but some kind of altruistic prerequisite to make the perk work stronger/better sounds like a great step in the right direction to me! Maybe it only shows the hatch within eight meters, and every equivalent of a full heal or unhook adds four additional meters.

4 safe unhooks/protection hits isn't hard to get in a match. Protection hits on their own are pretty easy. This way those running Left Behind are helping their teammates instead of just waiting on them to die. Just increasing the distance you can see aura of the hatch wouldn't be enough of an incentive for those hiding for hatch.

  • They should make Left Behind have an additional requirement to activate like get atleast 4 safe unhooks/protection hits in a match.

  • Hills should count and every map should have atleast 1. I swear I get non-stop Shelter Woods everytime I have that challenge on.

  • DBD itself is simple game - do gens/escape, hook survivors 3 times.

However the more they add to DBD the more complicated it becomes. I think if you play consistently and are involved in the community it doesn't feel like it's too complicated. If you take a break/are new or are not involved in community at all there is alot to learn.

Ridiculous amount of perks on both sides that you need to learn what they do and how to counter them if need be. How often do people complain about survivors not staying nearby after unhook because they were running We'll Make It? If you never use that perk and don't know all the perks off the top of your head you have no clue what that little icon means when you were unhooked. It's basic knowledge to the one running it, not so much to the other player.

My swf teammate has been playing this game for as long as I have, but he sucks at retaining information. If we have a hex on the screen he automatically assumes it's ruin, it's the only hex he knows well. He focuses on middle of screen so doesn't see if hex popped up said Undying, Thrill of the Hunt, or Huntress Lullaby. It has to be obvious to him in game to have any idea. For him there's just too many perks to keep track of.

The amount of status effects, what they do, the math - those add a layer of complication. Good portion of us know the math between self care, being healed by another, and time sloppy adds. Those not as into DBD just think "self care is slower than getting healed by someone else." They don't necessarily realize how much slower they are healing when Sloppy is in play, that's why you see them self caring when they shouldn't be.

Then there are the variety of killers. While some are pretty similar they all do work slightly different. Players need to know how the killer works, their counters, their teachables that you're more likely to run into, and the perks they usually run. You take long enough break to miss couple chapters that's quite a bit to catch up on when you come back, longer the break the more you need to catch up on. New players have ridiculous amount to learn.

The more that gets added to DBD the more complicated it becomes.

I underestimated the fallout from the NFT situation, as I imagine the devs did as well.

Though I've only been around here for something over a year I've seen so many disappear for one reason or another. But that issue seemed to be that proverbial last straw.

My few interactions with Boss were fun & awesome and usually insightful, and now are kinda treasured.

I'm slowly learning to remember all interactions now both positive and negative, believing the root of the dispute is still passion for this game & its potential. But hug your dear ones, we rarely get a goodbye we would want, if we get one at all.

On a side note i would still like to see @Pulsar as Console President, @bm33 as Executive VP, and perhaps @Shaped as VP in charge of Mountain Dew Procurement. @GoodBoyKaru will keep us honest, and @GeneralV will keep us together.

You should definitely be in that group with us.

Indeed. @GeneralV is pretty much universally liked, way more than I am either way lmao

When I asked if we could nominate people I was asking because I'd nominate you. You are definitely one that is universally liked just like GeneralV.

  • I thought you were supposed to attempt escape because you attempt escape in the tutorial. I was a 2 hook kill for so long. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I thought exposed meant killer could see your aura on top of being 1 hit.

I thought in order to use DS you needed to have an item in your hand because it says "Using whatever is at hand, you stab your aggressor." I didn't see point in ever using it because I didn't want to rely on having an item - this was when using up your item it disappeared and I also ran into alot of Franklin's.

I didn't know BT was a perk and couldn't figure out why sometimes people would unhook me in front of the killer and I'd need to mend after getting hit but other times I went down. I'd make unsafe unhooks thinking that's what you were supposed to do.

  • I'll only equip the boon for adept trophy, tome challenge, or if I have no better perk. I've done the same for Unbreakable. I'd rather destroy totems to prevent NOED and there's other perks I prefer over Unbreakable.
