  • Shaggy for sure. A scooby onesie would be dope too! also if supernatural can have a scoopy doo collab with real murder and sexy times….DBD can get green shirt and brown pants

Or just run 'Small Game,' 'Counter Force' or any other means of anti-totem approach and cleanse dull totems to weaken Thrill if it's really that much of an issue.

All I've seen since the update are cries from angry scrubs who refuse to pickup their tools and adapt. 30+ matches deep running Thrill/Crowd Control and I haven't seen a single totem hunting perk or even a damn map.

I was running counterforce because of this new buff. Even with the cleanse speed bonus, it takes ages. To the point where if i see a hex totem i gen rush as fast and effectively as possible and only save when in devour hope no token range

  • this perk really is dookies tbh. I saw it a few times when people were doing the escape 5 matches broken achievement. But honestly it did not do much and I did not notice much of a change. Id rather them run spiders.

  • I dont think killers should get a noise notification at all. STB or not the tunnel is all too common right now. At least make them have to pay attention to their hud.

  • I have bled out three times today and twice yesterday. Its been a huge issue

  • @Sngfun said:

How many times have you doubted whether you should cleanse the hex against a spirit because of haunted grounds?

How many wraiths have you played against that didn't bring noed?

How many times have you expected dead man's switch from artist and were correct?

It's just the nature of characters being assigned perks, give it some time for these killers to be proven wrong and they will stop their reasoning

I never expect haunted grounds, its been ages since Ive even seen it. Never even had it with a spirit since her release.

Also havent had a wraith with NOED in awhile, I havent even had noed in general in a hot minute

Havent had artist with dead mans switch since its nerf as well

After seeing the killer builds right now (thrill every game), I'm just genuinely convinced that the playerbase is exploring just how nasty it can be the last couple of days.

I want to go back to 2v8 so bad.

Same dude. its been miserable. I had a streamer refuse to hook anyone and focused purely on slugging everyone for the bleedout. I miss casual players and the chill mentality.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

I see it more as jumping to conclusions like "she might start taking a hook state off someone else so ill deal with that first". Ive had a killer bring all anti chest stuff just because i was playing laura croft when she came out lol

I cant imagine being that worked up over a perk that may or may not even be there. Bro needs some propranolol to deal with that anxiety

Tunneling and camping do not have to be done. I 'win' most of my killer matches and don't camp or tunnel.

And if you're thinking that I must be low MMR because that can't be, there are also streamers presumably better than me who dominate every match as killer. The matchmaking is designed so the killer should be getting 3k or higher more than they get 1k or 0k. This need for tunneling and camping is a myth.

Also, tunneling and camping are objectively hostile toward the targeted player since they keep them from participating in the game except to be chased non-stop. It can make people wonder why they even play the game. These tactics are unnecessary, 'bad manners' toward their targets, and if done efficiently can put people at MMR higher than is appropriate for their skill level. When that happens, it often leads people to believe these tactics are necessary.

I know four people who refuse to play the game because of that. And several others who refuse to even give it a try because of it. Adding onto what you said about the tunneling and camping requirement myth. It is just that….a myth. If they need to use cheap tactics to secure a win then they are artificially inflating their mmr above their skill set, which traps them in that "necessary tunnel and camp" mentality. Take the L, naturally go to an mmr where you belong. I promise you do not get fancy rewards or street cred for winning in a video game without leader boards.

  • Basekit unbreakable could not come soon enough. I had a match today where a streamer, not gonna say who because I dont want them to get any more viewers, was playing specifically to slug and bleed people out and a build to maximize it. Three people bled out on the ground and the last was moried. The dude in his stream was doing it specifically to be toxic and was making bets with his chat to see who would DC.

Outisde of that. Everyone huntress match I get there are usually two on the ground at a time. Its rare that I dont get a match without someone being slugged. I miss 2v8 so much.

  • shoutout to the OP for not being angry and rude. Tis a welcome thing in this community, i too love these devs and game.

But yeah, this killer is just awful, mainly because of how bad the dog AI is.

On the bright side it made getting the "escape five trials while broken" challenge wayyyy easier.

  • My wallet will never financially recover from this. Leaks kept on suggesting it was some other anime "perfect blue" i think it was called. This is 1000 times better. They even gave spirit a Tomie skin

  • Yeah I saw the portrait and was hella confused. Like besides the dog model did it even change anything? Dracula at least changed the voice, look, mori, etc. This just gives you a poodle and a cleaner looking outfit

  • Worst chapter by far. She isnt even fun for me to use. The dog is so crappy in so many ways. god forbid a jacked dog like snug can figure out a fall from ANY elevation. Its too buggy and frustrating to enjoy. Snug takes the longest and awkward paths possible, especially in RPD. Had him run DOWN the stairs to go up another set becasue ya know…hallway scary. Youd think the dog would at least bite survivors who cross his path on the way back too. and god forbid a survivor pre drops a pallet, the dog can figure out how to jump over one thats already on the ground but not one thats dropped mid chase. As survivor…I love it cuz I win almost every match against her.

The chapter release trophies are awful too and so grindy. fall a total of 1000 meters as killer? or the taurie trophies that all revolve around being broken. gonna have to run no-mither just to get it done faster.

Plz dbd devs. No more AI killers on them till the coding is half-way decent. You can juke a knight phantom just by touching a window and running away

  • she is god awful. The dog is just the worst. Buggy af. dog sees a pallet and wont jump over it cuz ya know…dogs cant jump. Like yeah if they throw it down BEFORE the chase…but that really shouldnt be a thing of concern. Dogs pathing and collision is awful. honestly the only good thing about houndmaster is the speed boost when in the trail of the dog

  • yeah dude this new killer is horrendous. DBD needs to stop dropping AI killers until the coding is better. I mean for knight all you have to do is touch a window and his guards are useless.

played a few matches as the killer. saw some stuff. like snug being parked next to survivor after chase and not biting. cuz ya know. a dog cant turn its head to the right apparently.

  • @Weepeme said:

That is all i have to say. Don't come at me with defensive comebacks or tryna telling me off. She needs a nerf thank you.

I mean according to nightlife DBHD killer stats she has a 32% kill rate. If anything she needs a buff.

  • Premium track should give bonus stuff even post deep rift rewards. I mean they fill it up with BP for the free track. gimme some shards or something

  • @Zuiphrode said:

Some killers are painfully bad and unfun to play at higher MMRs.

True, but at least those braving their use will be rewarded and the devs will get more data on how to buff them to make em tolerable

  • Most of my games usually result in a 3k max and im solo. Survivors disconnect for a bunch of reasons. Like of all the 8 survivors maybe one is on a gen during the whole chase. I just DCd because i got my fourth wraith/huntress combo in a row and just couldn't be bothered with another and switched to killer for variety.

Idk if MMR is in 2v8, I do feel like it has alot to do with the luck of the teams you get and how many technicians are on gens. Most matches i lose have 1 or less technician and everyone just focusing on saves rather than gens.

  • If your are getting hit by both of those at once, that a situation of tunneling. Don't do that. Its one of those, youre feeding the monster that hunts you kind of things. They run these perks to assist against the tunnel, and when theyre tunneled or see others getting tunneled it reaffirms the perceived necessity of both.

  • Gotta love those VPN killers. I get a lot from Europe and Columbia oddly enough

  • my man should put this in suggestions cuz this is big brain. +1

  • giving out iriedscent shards would def help imo.

All this sweet crying of killers going I can't play without my gen regression is so sweet, Playing with my friends as killer has never been funner.

maybe don't strive for an 8k every match you're going to disappoint yourself.

lil presumptuous my guy. You can make suggestions for balance even if its not making you suffer. I play more survivor than killer these days. Please don't comment unless its gonna be constructive towards the suggestion.

  • @Orthane said:

Nah, queue times for Killer are already torture. Throwing Survivors a bone to make it easier to win in exchange for shorter queue times is a-ok with me.

im either misinterpreting what youre saying you misinterpreted me. Im saying make gen harder for survivors, so idk how itd be throwing the survivors a bone

  • put this in the bug forum. That way theyll be more likely to see it and you can see when the moderators acknowledged it, investigate it, and are fixing it

  • I'd love a ranked qeue….in the hopes all the sweaty personality-less players flock to that mode.

  • Killers should never have that information. Tunneling is already a huge issue, and that would make it far worse and easier

LOL Look up the word hypocrite it would be handy for you to understand.

You call me the problematic person and that i need to improve my communication, yet you then go on by trying to insult me personally. Not sure where i made a personal attack on your mental wellness etc but seems you are that type of person i guess.

Think maybe it is you that should choose your words better. All you have done so far is hurl personal insults and show that you get angry if somebody calls you out for being a tad dramatic

Im not here to argue. go to twitter for that. 👍️

The bots are there in the event someone DCs. They are not meant to be there to allow you to DC when you want.

I have a better idea: Go next after you die. Don't complain, just go next, I can guarantee you your next match will be better. Slugging is probably an epidemic at high MMR, but they're a minority so who cares?

If you get slugged frequently because you're at high MMR… run Unbreakable? You should know what's going to happen since everyone will be playing Nurse.

I totally agree that the bots were implemented to help survivors because of survivors disconnecting, however the rage quitting has adapted to its inclusion and so we need to address the way they're used now in relation to the DC penalty and not what they were intended for.

The DC penalty predates the bots, which came as a response to the DC penalty not working as well as intended. Survivors work around the penalty now by intentionally throwing and getting themselves killed. Which, now that there are bots, leaves the survivors at more of a disadvantage than a regular DC. Will it lead to more DC? Probably. but at least those who are still in the match have an AI ally that'll do gens and totems.

Basically what im getting at is: The game has changed, the community mentality has changed, and so we need to change the ways we address toxicity (DC and Bots). Even if that means letting the toxic ones have a get out of free jail card, so the healthy majority aren't screwed over even more.

As for the slugging. My survivor MMR is terrible. I die like 90% of the time. I joke about how the "escape" rift challenges are the impossible challenge. I am slugged A LOT of the time, to the point where I run anti slug perks as a necessity to enjoy the game. Unbreakable and exponential are in my build. Had a match yesterday where I picked myself off the ground four times (huntress) because of the slugging. If it was just unbreakable it would be one and no more uses…id just be slugged like everyone else. Next match I got up once and exponential got my team up several times. Yeah it helps counter slugging. But I have to sacrifice perks I would like to run for perks I have no choice but to run, so I can play the game rather than lay on the ground for several minutes. Imagine playing killer, but you cant interact with survivors or anything for that matter. You can only walk really really slowly at them. It wouldn't be fun. Thats how it is for slugged survivors. Cant do anything besides move really slowly.

Now yes, slugging isn't in every match. But it happens enough where its flooding the forums and causing issue amongst the community. You may not be experiencing it but there are some factors in play. Like server location and time of day. I find my games between 12pm - 5pm on weekdays to be super relaxing and enjoyable for both sides. But after 6pm the game becomes a slug and tunnel fest, to the point I refuse to play survivor and my old swf pals stopped playing as well. I got my sister in law and my friend to play with me for the first time. My friend was slugged each match and when he wasn't he was tunneled. Like hard tunneled, I took hits and downs and the killers ignored me for them. Dude immediately refunded the game.

Even so. An issue doesn't need to be in the majority of games for it to be a problem and for it to be addressed. The same arguments were had when the base kit unbreakable was a thing, and it improved the experience for the majority once implemented. I think base kit unbreakable, like how it was in 2v8 would be good to add.

  • I would love a reputation system, the community is without a doubt getting more toxic and hostile towards one another. Hell id be happy with the "block" button just preventing me from playing with the person ever again. Wont have a super visible result but eventually they'll have horrible queue times due to their behavior. the "im not responsible for your fun" crowd can enjoy their long waits.

literally ANYTHING, be it tiny or big to incentivize sportsmanship and just not being a dick, would be spectacular.

Just like your not ENTITLED to escape either lol such a double standard.

    absolutely no self awareness

You are a very angry individual. And yeah, I do intentionally not do things that I know would ruin the experience for others.

You may have not experienced that sort of mentality in a PVP game because you are either apart of a toxic community or fueling the toxicity. In almost every pvp game I play the players I experience are chill and fine with goofing off, so long as you give off that vibe.

I don't expect to escape, i expect to lose most of my games as survivor. You can have a fair healthy match, full of positive sportsmanship…all without intentionally doing things you know negatively impacts the game and community as a whole.

if you're gonna be this rude and inflammatory without provocation….maybe you should go to league of legends and let us vibe and promote a fun experience for everyone.

  • Yeah its kind of an epidemic right now. I found that I have no choice but to run anti slug and anti tunnel perks now. Too many killers have adopted the "Im not responsible for your fun" mentality. A tragic sentiment to have in a multiplayer game tbh.

But I do think the DC penalty needs to go since it encourages people just to die on hook rather than leave us with a bot.

  • @mgunit123 said:

Hey team, if you haven't seen it here then it is all over tiktok. The new updates has caused a major slugging problem and it is literally sucking all the fun out of dbd. As a killer I'm not keen on getting kills this way, and as a survivor this is such a dumb end to what could be really good sessions.

Please review, adapt and listen to the chatter - do something about the slugging problem.

Also, killer hitboxes are a joke - there's enough proof on TikTok in slo-mo, to warrant nerfing the size of them.

The huntress hatchet hit box definitely needs to be addressed, it so bad that its become a meme. If death slinger hitboxes can be accurate enough to shoot through tiny holes….they can make the hatchet a bit better.

And yeah the slugging has been off the walls lately. Honestly the whole mentality of a lot of killer mains has switched to the "Im not responsible for your fun" way of thinking. A lot more people have this competitive mindset where the 4k is necessary or they'll lose their house. Personally I just let the last dude go most of the time. But I also don't care about winning, only having fun.

  • The 4k isn't that serious. The amount of BP you get for a 4k is what? a common item in the bloodweb? There are no leaderboards, rewards for the 4k. A hatch escape is still a win for you, mmr still goes up. I don't slug at all on killer, I just have a pretty good idea on the locations the hatch usually spawn. Not very often does the 4th get hatch. If its that meaningful to you, just use a hatch offering so you know where it will spawn.

  • Yeah i hate playing survivor more than usual but i have challenges to do. Its pathetic that anti-slug perks are required now and I get value every match. God forbid I wanna have casual fun

I get the fear of that speech but having the OPTION to have comms makes the game much different than having none. For example

    1. Game starts killer has Lethal Pursurer. Players can tell others the killer knows where they are which can lead to better chases.

    2. Who the killer is. Example if its a stalker killer players can tell others before they get ambushed
    3. Hexes and where they are
    4. Hooks and if Killer is tunnel/camping OR if the killer is slugging

There is more but having chat option in game can lead to a better game AS LONG as chats are options and mute options are available.

Itd definitely make solo q or even duo survivor more bearable because you have that ability to communicate. Even excluding the information you can say, you can verbally ask for help or warn survivors about stuff. like "hey dont save me hes camping", or "dont heal me just get on a gen"

  • o9nly times it bothers me is when im spirit and i cant hear footsteps because of the chase music. But on hook, i think if you smack em they stop screaming faster. I dont do it cuz its not an issue for me but ive heard people mention it

  • Ive been forced to run DS, off the record, unbreakable, and reassurance because I get more matches with camping or tunneling than not. Like I want to play survivor, but its so bad i always just go back to killer

  • simple solution: don't tunnel

Solution if you arent tunneling: hit thorugh it without hesitation. they'll now need to mend which kills time.

Yes they have endurance for 80 seconds. but the moment they touch a gen, hook, survivor, totem, or anything to progress anything it is gone.

I mainly just agree with this. Most of my solo queue teammates try to be good, but I've definitely felt shafted a few times when I manage to loop the killer enough for multiple gens get done, get saves, do a gen myself, and then all three leave me on hook :/

But I guess I've been lucky that that's not so common for me.

I think I like the idea of adding a matchmaking weight based off of certain parameters that indicate toxicity. Like solo queue players, no connection in friends list, can leave a thumbs up under different categories. But I think that needs a long discussion about the benefit of mixing different playstyles in people's matches.

Either way, I definitely get this :D

I have been wanting a system like that for so long. This way I don't get paired with toxic killers or teammates again. Plus it might motivate people to play in a healthier manner if they can see their abysmal score.

  • Yes having a p100 character isnt a good representation of skill. that being said, you have the insane amount of hours needed to get enough BP to p100 a character. Pretty sure you will walk all over anyone who has less than an hour in the game.

  • Honestly a tragic sentiment to have. If every one who had that sentiment made the effort to be kinder and less selfish…maybe things wouldn't be so rough. Hate breeds hate my man.

  • @TotemsCleanser said:

I try to be as fair as possible when I play both sides. Since I came back to the game I've been more of a killer player because lately I find that role way more fun and, besides, solo queue is literally hell. All of my recent survivor games have been mostly to get challenges done (both tome challenges and some adepts I'm missing) and oh boy it's been HELL. Most matches either one survivor is tunneled out or everyone is slugged. I just played a game where a Spirit let us all bleed out for no reason. Solo queue is so mentally draining that I've pretty much become a killer main. And yeah, I sometimes do get toxic survivors. But honestly? Much more rarely than I get killers who tunnel or slug.

Personally, when I play I try to be as fair as possible. As killer, I rarely tunnel unless I have like one gen left and I need someone out of the match asap if I want to at least get one kill. I try to go for whoever unhooked instead of the unhooked person. And that kinda stuff. As survivor I just play normally? I try not to bring broken stuff like OP add-ons or map offerings into the trials because I hate them as killer so I may as well not submit other killer players to them.

But you know, some folks lack basic human empathy. Many will justify their ######### ways with "I'm not responsible for your fun". And that mentality has been a problem in this game for years. At the end of the day, it's true that it's just a game and it's not really that deep. But I still believe that having that kind of mentality is selfish. Even it it's just a game.

yeah solo is just miserable and the survivor challenges are so painfully difficult to do. Like getting iri light bringer emblems. gotta solo two full generators and break totems. make killer miss x amount of swings in a single match. At least as killer survivors are almost always willing to farm with ya

  • @Autharia said:

Its cause there is 0 repercussions to killers who play this way as the devs said it was alright to do so.

I think there should be a player rating system or a way to block getting matched with a player again. Anything to increase the odds of getting a match with people who dont play like jerks.

  • @Seraphor said:

If you win more than you lose your MMR increases. It's pretty straight forward.

Are you saying you want to escape a lot but not face tougher opponents?

I mean, even outside of swf it happens. I die probably like 90% of the matches I play as survivor. Escape is RARE. Despite this I regularly get paired with p100 killers. Got two of my friends to get teh game for 2v8 when it released. They tried a few regular matches to learn the game. The friend who played killer was bullied by a p100 streamer squad. It was his first game. The friend who tried survivor had a similar experience with a high prestige killer that was relentless and tunneled her out. Both refunded the game cuz of it.
