thats your own fault for solely relying on insta down perks to win you games xdd
try getting better? using your brain to win mindgames? the lost art of dbd.
I look at Minskull, TruTalent and NotOrt their biggest complaiants are Med-Kit Stims, Flashlights, Dem-Squads I never once heard them complain about Vigil.

No. It's still extremely overpowered perk. I run Starstruck, Haunted Ground, Friends Till The End… - useless, I run sloppy butcher, Gift of Pain… - useless, I run Forced Penance, Forced hesitation - useless. Everything runs out before you blink.
It sounds like your build sucks not the perk is OP because I dont see SWF groups run it mass. It saves a sec or two but its not game changing in its current form.

Yeah, it's 66 % effect to every survivor closeby. Nice nerf. We might as well nerf Pain res to be 30 % if time between hooks is more than 10s. Reasonable.
You do realize how SWFs used it and I suspect that was its only big function.
-
@Elan said:
It got laughable nerf. It is powerhouse to recover from everything quickly. The nerfed Vigil should only affect mangled, hemmorage and broken and it's value should be 10 % at most like killer add ons.
The nerfed the team bonus aspect to just one player so clearly you didnt read the patch notes but here it is
9.2.1 Bugfix patch notes- Vigil:
- Survivors can now only benefit from one Vigil perk's effect at a time (previously stacked with other versions of itself).

Survivors are sweet innocent friends and killers are no bad fun ruiners, right?
From what I played most of the sweating comes from the Killer in the event mode.
-
Event mode brings out the worst behavior in killer and survivors just want to kick pumpkins and have fun in the void.

Slugging beats sabos, slowdowns prevent genrush. Also there is rarely ever any teamwork in solo q.
Its the killers who actually want to face nothing but Solo Q because they are easy wins.
-
@Alicia_Tried6041 said:
They know tunneling, proxy camping and slugging are broken mechanics with no counterplay so they do it.
Also they know this is a very casual mode and they know 4-5 minutes survivors wont be working gens so they expect a super easy 3/4K no effort

What's the problem? That the player tries to win in competitive game? Very rude.
When the killer notices 0 gen popping in a fun event how about laying off till you actually are having a competitive match?

Well, killer has 4 perks slots, survivors have 16. I'm shocked there are not killer basekit perks like survivors have. Killer shouldn't run anything to counter anything it should be mainly survivor-side requirement. If it's 2v4 and not 1v4 I'd might argue.
If your facing a comp swift team and this game and swifts is a balanced as a Hindu loving a Beef Burger

@Elan said:
Getting slugged? There is more than overpowered perks like Conviction, Unbreakable, Boon: Exponential etc. You can use them, don't eb scared.
I say the same on killers who complain about flashlight bully squads run Lightborn and you get them complaining I WANT TO RUN MY BUILD. You cant win.

Survivor is only strong when you're in a swf otherwise the games killer sided. Most survivors play solo q. You do the math.
100% agree I get sick of "get gud" smack from killers. I play decent but all it takes is one dumb but solo Q moron to make the game not only unwinnable not fun. At some point match rankings grades have to presented so I know I am not paired with a moron.
-
You have an option play lightborn just like Killers will say run DS and DH on all characters to prevent tunneling hint I think both are wrong stances

How are you under the impression that kicking pumpkins takes a great deal of time? It's a like 1.5 second interaction.
Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a completely different game than you people.
Find the pumpkins I literally had 5 matches in a row not a gen was popped in the first 3-4 mins besides the ones I did before the Killer was chasing me.

You do know this is exactly how it was last year right? Same mechanics and affects, last year I tried to use dead hard in the void and it didn't work and killers were always able to use their powers in the void as well, so I don't see what the big fuss is about it aside from the fact that it's just the same as it was before .-. (And aside from the fact that it's been the same kind of posts that you made that others made during the last years one as well)
Edit: but I do agree, there needs to be something for the Survivor side to even it out a bit more
The problem is at least in SOLO Q it rewards wasting A LOT of time and killer you get bonus BP just hooking and killing survivors. So you have plenty of games the Killer is playing 100% normal hook/tunnel or slug game and survivors 1-2 of them spending 75% not doing anything normal game related including gens. unhooking or healing.
-
@Ohyakno said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4015337#Comment_4015337
This is the opposite of reality? Going into the void as the killer is a far larger time sink; their time is 4x as valuable as a survivor's. Moreover survivors get an item that directly progresses their objective without any input from them.
There is zero reason to go into the void besides wasting time and you dont get a great ability. The item for survivors requires also wasting more time than what its worth. Unlike standard games no gens are done in the first 4 minutes because its better to get more blood points wasting time. Killers get rewarded to play to win survivors no
-
This mode encourages survivors to waste the entire game kicking pumpkins, going into the void to waste even more time. Like all other events the Killer is rewarded for playing the event the survivors waste time playing the event properly
-
Make his attack a very quick dodge able attack no hit-scan because hit-scan ignores everything

When I played DBD on my old Xbox1x it also struggled to run the game well too. Mostly it's due to how the game was originally coded and their iffy optimization. My Xbox Series X runs it better of course, but it can depend on what's happing in the game, which map etc.
Back in May 2019 they set a goal to get all platforms running at 60 fps minimum. After a couple of years they fessed up that they just couldn't do it. Not because of the capabilities of the platforms it was out on, but because of an apparently insurmountable resource bottlenecking issue internally.
It's why even the strongest machines out there can have issues running the game at times, and they also can notice the resource hog DBD can be.
Please look up why games cant run and right now the Switchs 2GB of ram is not capable of running the game the memory is too low. This is why the game looks like a mess and plays like i.

You'd be astonished how many players still play DBD on a Switch 1
Great it still runs bad BUT if that is all you have then you play with what you have. My issue is DBD devs know the hardware cant handle the V-Ram needed to run the game.

Because DBD is a live service game they cannot drop any platform the game is on until Nintendo officially stops support for it (prolly next year) or the game physically cannot be run on it anymore.
It doesnt have the specs for UE 5 anymore to run good so yes that has happened already.

No Hook Myers was easy if you could get a AFK player or one idiot solo Q then you have little counters for the rest of the team.
-
I want a colab with the Rob Zombie.
-
I like how killers complain the wait times are so long and then complain its too hard to play as the killer. The reason why there is long wait times for killer no one wants to play as survivor unless you play SWF. Solo Q have little to zero counter play against S tier killers.

In my opinion, Krasue is only strong at tunneling.
And every third player who plays her only tunnels.
Because the unhooked survivor doesn't have time to eat the mushroom, and Krasue catches up too quickly and hooks them again. Her infection allows VERY easy tunnels because once a survivor is at 100% they do not lose it after being hooked and she can spam the attack and since it downs 100% infects and it bounces it becomes GG with little the tunneled player can do.
-
The simple solution is to remove 1/2 the plague levels when a survivor is hooked, She should not be able to have full power against unhooked survivors the range attack is that good.

I mean I'm Iri 1 on both less than 2 weeks into the month because I like both roles a lot. Killer has less oppressive perks than survivor does right now, killer issues are mostly killer specific (like blight being able to zone break and rush immediately, krasue existing), the only perk that was really problematic was DMS and it got changed already. I don't want survivor healing perks to be nerfed, I want killer anti-healing perks to be buffed. They should've just straight up buffed leverage instead of side-grading it, which I'm going to edit into the post lmao.
I used the build above a few times and it was useful because I like to stay injured on gens and reset only when necessary anyway (or use the medkit if I needed to reset otherwise). I'm not against a 30 second timer, but it definitely isn't as bad as you say, it's just not meta. For altruistic heals it kinda sucks when people move around and cancel it so I see why a timer would be good there to make that better, because I've mostly been using it on self heals.Answer this why would you run Road life over any other current healing perk?
-
@TripleStryke said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4005036#Comment_4005036
How often are you getting interrupted while healing, are you just exclusively healing under hook or something? It's literally just 4 greats while injured then your next heal is 100% faster. I'm also not regularly missing skill-checks to the point of losing tokens lmao. If you have an issue hitting greats, run stake-out. If you want a consistent perk run botany, desperate measures, do no harm, or we'll make it. It's the fastest self heal modifier so obviously it needs to have some weirder condition when it also stacks with the other ones. Some sort of timer would be fine, but I don't know why we're acting like you getting interrupted while healing is a problem with the perk and not you for the most part.
Because it shouldnt be a factor. Give a it timer 30-60sec tell me where that would be broken? Because this post section is full of killers who want the weakest perks for survivors.

On an altruistic heal with no debuffs its 8 seconds. On a self-medkit heal with no debuffs its 12 seconds. With mangled it's only slightly more. On a self care heal it takes it from 45 to 22.5, which is faster than a med-kit heal. You can definitely go that amount of time without being interrupted idk why you're saying ONLY. Idk a single person regularly missing generator skillchecks either.
I can tell you are a killer main and never ever run this perk and want other survivor perks to be nerfed to this level.

It's not the best thing ever, but I've gotten value with self-care and a med kit. I just don't think there needs to be a universally strong healing perk again so it's fine being like a 5-6/10
Its not the best its the worst healing perk. Did you even read the requirements to get it off.
Drop the one time attempt and give it a 60sec timer once activated please something where its not a one off. -
How is road life solid ? Did you even read it
1. You need to get great skill checks when injured and not just injured not broken
2. Missing removes them
3. It ONLY lasts until you attempt end so if you scream or have to end it before its completed its used up -
A lot changes hurt the M1 base killer and does not impact the top tier killers. Base anti-camp does little to the best killers which have tons of movement tools to knock a player down.
-
The middle of RPD is meant to have little to help players or enemies. You get 2 pallets and thats it no safety no real resources that can be used.

M1 Killers with no movement abilities like Trapper, Ghostface

Anti-camp hurts non-S killers the most

Yeah, if you want the full Rift, you need daily play too.
Its almost like the system was made to incentivize players to play and not for players who don't want to or cant play to still get a cool reward. I put in my hours playing surely I should be rewarded more than you?
If you are not playing, why should you still get rewarded?
Many do play but you know sometimes you might only get 3 days to play fully. I think matches should give 5 Rift every match till you get to a multiple of 10 then give a bonus 100 or 200. It still encourages daily play BUT it rewards those who play a lot in one day as well.

This is true, and I think the concerns many killers have is this approach brute forces a particular style of play that fits highly mobile and loop lethal killers more than others. BHVR are aware of this, as they've noted they will be lowering these effects for these types of killers...
However the problem of course is many players don't want to play highly mobile killers with high lethality like Nurse, Blight, Wesker and Spirit. Some players prefer trap style killers like Hag and Trapper, some prefer stealth killers like Ghost Face and Myers, some prefer pallet chewing juggernauts like Bubba and Nemesis, some prefer alternative map pressure and tactile killers like Pig and Sadako, some prefer sniper killers like Huntress and Deathslinger, some prefer explosive snowball killers like Oni and Twins.
The way I see it, there are many way you can make killers viable... but these changes pigeon hole the killer to play a specific way, and while I'm not saying "yes tunnel and slug everything", these changes go beyond tunneling and slugging with effects that punish you regardless of context if your best option is to chase the last player that was unhooked... and these styles of killers above naturally encounter these scenarios more.
E.g. As a trap killer, I don't get to decide who steps in my trap... am I supposed to let the death hook survivor go because I hooked that person last? As a Huntress if the death hook survivor off hook runs out into the open for a easy shot, do I ignore it and don't throw? As Oni if I down a Survivor, and there are is the death hook survivor nearby, do I ignore them because I can't hook them? A lot of this doesn't make sense...
So... if we buff killers what are gonna do? Give them BBQ, Bloodlust 4 and POP and say "Go get em champ, don't play to your unique killer strengths, run off and play as Wish.com Blight!"… sounds like I'm being dramatic… but then there is the Myers update, which does kinda hint that killer designs will become pretty homogenous…
I hate to say it but specializing certain mechanics to be more friendly to lower end killer might be the answer.

Not everyone doesn't care about Twins.
Also great news as an aside, Lynxi the Twins main beat her cancer! She's a very cool content creator that I'm so glad is doing well. Her take is here:
https://youtu.be/1BjPmaAy81U?si=IsyfKhlwytBbaLA1
They ofc need a slew of bug fixes for Twins, and need to be encouraged to go for long leaps instead of crawling up a Survivors butt with Victor. My suggestion was always adjust Victor's recovery based on distance jumped, where a point blank hit is 5s of recovery due to him slamming his face into Survivors, while a far hit takes only a second, and it scales based on how far Victor flew. Would be scary AF hearing him bouncing around like a Spider monkey in the distance.
One of Lynxi's suggestions was to allow Twins to switch locations with each other after a small channel when Victor is out... which might be a really good suggestion with these slugging changes cause it means Charlotte can hook. It would also means tiles and structures that are bad for Victor, the Twins player can switch to Charlotte and be an m1 killer instead.
I would also like to see an animation/audio update. Victor is a fine and creepy little goober, and Charlotte could really give off a powerhouse vibe... but she seems so disinterested and unresponsive... when she gets stunned she gives a disappointed sigh, like she's about to cry. When Victor gets kicked... she does nothing... he's supposed to be her whole world, all the hatred and bile she experienced in life were because they were cojoined, and he was the only thing she ever loved... it devastated her when he died in her chest, and when the Entity brought Victor back to life, her love of Victor is why she's here in the trials at all... someone like this I would think, would be pretty damn pissed at Victor getting kicked or crushed into goop.
The global audio que when Victor is released is creepy and ominous, I love it... but why we don't get more of this stuff? Give me a global bellow from Charlotte whenever Victor dies...
I think a lot of killers need selective fixes to find that sweet spot of kill ratio. This is needed but now they are going to have make good on their updates and adjust the low tier killers so they do not feel like chores to play.

I mean the point still stands... if a Survivor ignores tapes and Sadako kills them for it, Sadako is punished by buffing the Survivor side and losing the right to regress gens.
Same thing if a Survivor dies to Pig trap... the killer is punished for a Survivor not doing their trap... now in Pig's case its less egregious because the Pig probably does have to be tunneling to get a head pop... but the point of Sadako is to maintain condemn pressure on Survivors. It's not passive like Pig, Sadako has to track Survivors, time TVs and track tape positions to actively apply Cobdemn pressure in order to force Survivors to do tapes.
No Sadako is ever going to say to themselves "OK this survivor is on 6 stacks now, they have to do a tape, thats great slwodown for me". Every single one will say "One more stack and thats a kill! Which TV is theirs?".
Yea… Survivors really want to have 3 players no tunneling or camping waiting from the killer end sarcasm.

There is no better or more optimized version of DBD for those on Switch 2 to get. The game will run the same as it does on a Switch 1 it's the same game.
It means dropping the Switch 1 software and porting the current gen over., The hardware to play it on good setting is possible for even a steam deck.
-
Personally I hate to say it Switch 1 should stop being maintained give it 6 months and allow Switch 2 users access to the better ver.
-
The action of stun after the vault happens and where you land. Example if you vault a pallet the killer can back off to avoid the stun when landing since you landing is the condition where it happens. Also that means Vaults where there is a drop off it wont likely work.
-
This is just a bad ghoul player I heard pallet noises and he was clearly missing hard on the swings.
-
I would counter doubling the bonus while keep the stealth killer stealth-ed pushing for a tug of war style of game keeping you there but at the risk of the killer eventually closing in.
-
The game is built around completing gens asap because some killers are built much better than others.
-
Here is my idea for a tutorial
Have easy segment chapters.
1. Pull the camera in top down mode for the sequence overall over the chase segments changing angles when its needed.
2. Show the Killer and survivors highlighted and highlight potential vaults or pallets
3. With Voice over with no other game noise show each segment of chase and counter chase tactics
4. With each scripted chase CAREFULLY show off more adv tactics on how to dodge or out-think. If the Camera has to change angles to get a showing how each input is used do it. -
They should add tutorial bots that are scripted to show you how to play chases and figure out where to control the chase killer or survivor. Scripted tutorials should not be hard to pull off.
