There needs to be a perk that allows you to change hook/cage location. It would be a random location but would help so much
-
I like your idea, the hook mechanics are reminiscent of 2v8, where they would be placed in a random point on the map and if the killer lingered near them they would change location. This helped soooo much with camping.
Removing the unhook noise notification would be god tier. I cant tell you how often the MOMENT the killer gets that notification, they break off whatever they're doing to go right back to hook. Like I've had killers break chase or stop 5 feet from breaking a gen to get back to hook asap. This would absolutely help alleviate the tunnel, and force the killer to pay attention.
-
I feel like with the introduction of bots, DC penalties should be removed or lessened. Before if you DCd then the team would be down a guy, that was a problem and no longer the case. At least the bots do gens, save, heal, and have a homing beacon for totems. Plus with the DC penalty is incentivizes plyers to die on hook which robs the team of a player and a bot.
But yeah, the ban times are like hardcore competitive games and needs adjustment

I would reword buff Unbreakable to this
Unbreakable
+50% to recovering when downed and you get endurance and a +10% haste for +15 secs using this perk to recover from that state.
Recover from being downed this perk deactivates
If all players are either killed/downed or hooked this perk reactivates. This is actually really solid and im cool with it.

I just hate having to run full builds dedicated to stop these types of just to be able to enjoy the game from a position where I can only crawl

Statistically, you're wrong. You and many others suffer from confirmation and negativity bias that influences what and how you remember events. BHVR has the numbers and they do not lie.
Even if statistically, you are more likely to not be slugged than be slugged. It is still an issue a lot of people face and needs to be addressed. It does not need to be a statistical majority for it to be acknowledged as an issue. Realistically what is wrong with creating changes that promote a healthier gameplay and a less toxic community?

Honestly, i'm considering just attempting 2-hook until survivors hit 1 gen remaining and then going for kills with my killer matches. At least with the more rookie survivors. I still want to keep my MMR up to try and avoid being matched with them, but they still get a pretty full match when it happens
Thats generally what I do. I two hook survivors and play normally until theyre death hook. From there i decide who I want to live. I usually kill two to maintain MMR. Wouldn't be right to lose MMR and stomp on newer survivors. Some actions are guaranteed a survival. Like if im playing vecna and someone gets the hand, I let them out because that achievement is BS
-
@Ohyakno said:
The vast majority of the time it doesn't even happen. Faster bleed out is an okay option.
Then you are lucky, for me and many others it happens more often than not. Could be your server location and time of day that you play
-
mmr is a joke in this game. Tried to get my friends to play the game. first game as killer. two p100 survivors bullied them. They uninstalled. Moment I hit rank 1 survivor, I got in a lobby where the streamer didn't know what the gens looked like and their friend was so scared they hid the whole time.
But yeah, survivor sucks right now, even more so as solo q. The "comp" mindset is plaguing this game where they only way to have fun is to be meta and use toxic strategies like slugging and tunneling. Now when im killer I let everyone go to give em a break from the misery.
-
They really butchered distortion but reworked EVEN MORE killer perks to have aura readings. its insane. especially the new zanshin tactics and thwack.

Why do you say ridiculous like that's a bad thing?
Also by several, you mean 2, right? We got Susie and David. The other characters that are LGBT like Tubarao are from other IPs, not DBD.
I just think it'd be cool to have more canon LGBT characters. I personally wanna see a trans woman be added specifically, since I'm a trans woman myself. People feeling represented in the games they play is a good thing, it helps people feel included and connect to a game.
I didn't say ridiculous as in bad. I said it in hyperbole in response to how many there are.
-
The game is literally getting a drag queen cosmetic collection. It has a ridiculous amounts of lgbt+ charms. Several characters are confirmed to be LGBT+ such as Susie (Legion). Like what else could they do to make the game "safer" for lgbt+ people?
-
ranked would be good. That way all the sweats and salty people will flock there and leave me with the survivors who will play fetch with me as dracula
-

can we get an option for survivors to hide their names from killers until after the match?
there is already an option to hide your name, and the names of all the players. Go to options, then online. The options are there
-
Identity V did this and it worked out really well. I think it would save alot of people from charging into a camper, or if noone is coming for the hook. Its a good compromise with voice chat, only you wont get super toxic kids screaming at you mid match
+1
-
Got fnaf, now john wick. all we need is master chief and well be fortnite
-
honestly, the mmr thing has always been an issue. my brothers first game as killer had 2 p100, a p78, an a p1. his first ever game. something similar has happened to a few of my other friends as well. I wish they would go back to the old grade system. I play survivor only rarely with friends or when im doing rift stuff. I suck as survivor. I die every match almost. yet im getting paired with p100 killers with the most meta builds and perks. The MMR system in this game is a joke.
but you do eventually get used to the rushing and pressue as killer. its all about finding the right build/killer. For me its ghostface, win a solid 95% of my matches with 0 gen slowdown perks and its fun/chill. Meanwhile as hillbilly its a struggle and i hate it unless i get coldwind farm.
-
yeah her hatchet hitboxes are wild
-
The issue with the perks in 2v8 is that it would create more problems than it would fix and be more difficult to balance around. Imagine an army of people using off the record and other second chance perks. It just wouldn't be as casual which is a major appeal to this mode. I get it, its weird going into a mode that shakes up what were used to and the builds were used to. But that's the point of a new game mode, to be fresh and add something to the game.
but i get it. I miss my builds too but the mode feels so much more casual without everyone trying to be meta. and its a breath of fresh air imo
-
I know this is a common problem with xbox users and xbox game pass users. might need a clean install of both. but you really should put this in "bugs" and contact customer support directly
-
I don't think the distortion nerf is warranted when you take into consideration the sheer amount of aura reading addons and perks.
-
This would make alot of sense…granted i dont even talk to that many people irl. it would be good for community gatherings in the mean time

The biggest issue as I see it is somehow dealing with direct tunneling with one or even no gens done vs. only a couple of gens remaining and no one dead yet. Tunneling is sometimes the correct call, and as someone mentioned earlier it's not a clear black & white discussion. There's no easy way to do this sadly.
And by direct tunneling I mean the killer returns for the unhooked surv and follows them exclusively until downed and rehooked. Not because they took an endurance hit or foolishly healed under the hook, just focused on out. The feeling a surv getting this is awful and not good for the long term health of the game. Especially for the new players, and imo is unnecessary at 5 gens.
This is the tunneling im referring to guys. This thread has become so rude and angry lol.
-
I do think there should be some sort of buff for survivors when getting double teamed. Or maybe a slight nerf for killers when super close to eachother

That isn't a personal attack. It is a statement of fact, which I can support by quoting you over and over again throughout this topic. I'm not making any assumptions about your thought processes. I'm taking you literally at your words/posts. You seem fixated on what other people are doing in their matches. You feel they shouldn't be doing certain things. That is the definition of a busybody, and your beliefs about what should be is also the definition of entitlement. We are, however, getting away from the point. Do you find any fault in my suggestion that your time would be better spent worrying about your own playstyle rather than that of other people? Can you explain why you feel you are the person best suited to decide how other people should not be playing? I'm not being mean here. I'm trying to make a point, because I believe personal bias is clouding your judgement and taking you down a road that you neither intend nor realize.
We have all had bad games where the tactics rubbed us wrong. We all get tilted from time to time. These experiences do not mean there is a problem with the game, nor with what the other Player did. I just go by what I was taught in Kindergarten and remember that my personal say and responsibility is ME. I am not the boss of other people.
okay dude 👍️whatever you say

I haven't made any personal attacks on you. I have addressed your arguments and made a statement of fact about your insistence on policing other people. For example, what you said above is not logically sound. I could break down those sentences, line by line, and show you why that doesn't mean what you think it means, and why you are simply wrong, but that would be mean and over the top. The DEV have stated, MANY times, the overall Kill/Escape Rate they are looking for and have even provided percentages. Those numbers are being hit by the game in a fairly reliable way with all the current tactics in the game. As it happens, the DEV favor a slightly higher Kill rate than Survival based on the theme of the game itself. So if the game ain't broke, they don't try to fix it. Seems like a reasonable approach. I'm going to point out, again, that you should focus on what YOU do in the game.
you literally called me entitled and made assumptions on my thought process.
"makes you a busybody who feels entitled" ~ you

What are you talking about here? His comment was to the point. He may have delivered it with humor, but what he is suggesting is quite correct. You are making the suggestion that the game never requires any tactics YOU personally find toxic. Moreover, you indicate that you are a Killer that never had to use said tactics and manage to achieve great results. The person you are responding to is, far kinder than me, and is at least giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are honest in that regard. They constructively point out that most people are NOT able to get consistent results playing by your version of the Survivor's Handbook. The argument is sound, even if sarcastic.
I'm more direct and less kind. I don't believe you when you make such statements, an opinion which is entirely my own. And even if I did believe you, I would point out that you don't get to decide how OTHERS should be playing based on yourself.
Sarcasm isnt kindness. And dude. look. what i am saying, isnt unique to me. its is arguably the primary complaint people have in this game. you can use the search option to find more threads of a similar topic. I don't care how people play, until that playstyle becomes problematic. problematic behavior is the topic. Now you say it's a "me" thing. It has also been acknowledged by the devs as an issue, similar to camping. Which is why they continue to make changes to counter that behavior. So….if the devs acknowledge that it can be problematic, and most people who play survivor agree it can be a problem…clearly it isn't just a me thing. so again, you're making it personal for no reason. chill out.
-
yes they do balance it around the results. however, tunneling is a behavior that directlt effects the results of a match. so, if the behavior effects the results, and the results are what is being used for balance. then this is a behavior that can be influenced by balance changes. If the results of killers losing frequently, result in the behavior of tunneling. then the opposite must be true.
also what's with the personal attack dude? chill

It's really not. I understand you're the greatest killer in the world, but most people simply cannot reach your level of rarified excellence. For most of us mere mortals, you gotta get someone out when the game is close.
If youre not gonna be constructive dont comment. im not talking about last minute desperate kill. im talking about those who only ever tunnel the entirety of the match. noone will be mad if one dude is tunneled at the end of the match.

Well the game isn't balanced to be played without, that's exactly why they just make it harder to tunnel and camp and don't delete it entirely. Besides that the argument "just lose even if you could win because I feel like it's toxic even tho it doesn't have anything to do with me as a person" is a VERY bad argument too. I really hate loosing and I don't have the intention to give the win without fighting, so if I have to tunnel and camp I will do it.
It's only toxic if you take it as toxicity, for me tunneling is just a nessasary thing to do, I'm not mad when I'm getting tunneled and I even find it fun to try to live as long as possible.
The game is balanced to play without tunneling and camping. Myself and scores of other killers are proof of that. you DO NOT need to tunnel to win. If losing a match upsets you so much that you resort to tunneling/toxic behavior as your main tactic….thats just called being a sore loser and bad sportsmanship. I win virtually every match with my ghostface without tunneling or camping…and i have 0 gen regression perks. when i dont win its never less than a two kill. and its not "mmr" cuz as i said…i rarely ever lose and im a killer main with 3k hours. Its just that pressure + prediction is better than tunneling.
like yeah. tunneling and camping is an easy win. But by singling out a specific player and ruining their experience just for your benefit and lack of proper skill…is toxic. If you intentionally and repeatedly perform an action that you know is ruining the experience of others, that's toxic. Now this isnt the same as typical gamer rage when theyre losing, it is the intentional performance of actions that you know will significantly ruin the enjoyment of others. DBD is notorious for its ridiculously toxic community. So as players, do we not have a responsibility to help facilitate an environment that encourages enjoyment and health for all players? If losing a few matches means a happier community and results in a better balanced game, is it worth not tunneling?

Yes it is, if you're able to win without tunneling and camping the survivors weren't on your level. A efficient team won't let you win without tunneling and camping because you just loose gens quicker than you're able to down and kill them.
Besides that eyrie and garden of joy are still two of the most awful maps ever released, they are horrible. The reworks didn't change that at all.
I hate the argument "if you don't need to tunnel the survivors aren't on your level". couldn't I just as easily argue that if you need to tunnel the survivors are at a higher level than you sense you need to deploy cheap/desperate tactics to win? Furthermore if you have to deploy cheap tactics to win, wouldn't it make since to NOT do that, making the killers kill/escape ratio drop. giving the devs better data and showing them that killers are worse off if they play fair….leading to them buffing killers so people don't have to play in such a manner that promotes toxicity
-
yeah I have a couple people who tried but won’t get back in because it’s so unfun for new players
-
dbd bout to get a surge in players 12 and under. Bout to be the next Fortnite
-
I’m always getting tunneled by wraith and hillbilly it’s like that’s their primary focus. Like bro it’s 2v8. It ain’t that deep. Leave that toxic sweatiness for ranked.
-
I think the DC penalty should just be removed.
-
I don’t think so. Kind of a cheap move though unless you have a disability
-
no casual game mode should have mmr. If winning and dominating is your thing. Get a killer friend or stick to 1v4. Casual mode does not need a bunch of killers that take Otz word as scripture and tunnel and learn the cage spawn to prevent saves because it’s a “totally legitimate strategy”. We’re already seeing mass slugging and hillbillies/wraiths using their turbo speed to get to cages.
KEEP IT CASUAL PLEASE. The goofiness is part of the appeal. I had a match as killer where I got 19 hook stages and my team mate had 2. I even took a screenshot. But it was fun helping out the baby killer and watching them do their thing.
-
if you tunnel anyone in this game, especially 2v8 you are apart of the problem. Personally if I’m getting tunneled or playing against a tunneling/camping killer. I turn on ultra BM sweat mode.

fr.. when i started realizing its not me but hitboxes i started to clip them and its so annoying i have a little collection now ;)
I’ve gotten to the point where if I get hit by absolutely rediculous hitboxes I just let them kill me and move on to a match that isn’t broken. Like I should not see the hatchet 4 feet behind me and yet take damage from it. It’s not like they can’t do precise hitboxes either…deathslinger is evidence enough of that.
I’m gonna start doing that as well. We can start a fun lil thread on here so the devs can be like “hmmm yeah. This is an issue”

I think they might just being having a server issue. earlier in the day alot of us lost connection to the server. Im unable to claim and complete a few of my killer challenges. Ah while I disagree with the person who made this post I also have to disagree with you. First off I think 2v8 ques will settle eventually once the novelty of playing with a friend wears off. I also definitely want to see it return again in the future, but, it has definitly affected killer ques in 1v4. They are on average for me 10 to 15 mins. Again i think this will probably settle down with time but to suggest that 2v8 hasnt affected the base mode is just ludicrous.
when I wrote that post…four days ago. The queue times weren’t affected, I was still getting near instant matches as killer in 1v4. Now…four days after writing that…there is an issue there and queue times for killer across the board is a pain.

I don't know what 2v8 you've been playing…
yesterday it wasn’t bad. But now all the toxic killers who are tired of the 1v4 queue times came over to the casual mode. They figured out how to guess where the cage will spawn. I see it most with huntress (go figure) and hillbilly
-
yeah that HAND of vecna achievement is wild. Not only do you need to role a nat 20, but you need to get the hand. So if you get the eye…oh well. Better keep trying boxes. And then you have to survive!!!? Hard enough with the tunnel meta. If u have the hand I’ll get targeted just for the mori
-
I get a nurse once maybe in like 10 matches. But like 95% are huntress with broken hitboxes. I’d kill to see more nurse. Like god plz give me something other than a huntress. I will pay actual dollars to have a match without a huntress.
-
honestly I don’t think it’s so much the incentives and more that it’s just a better mode for most players.
I hate playing regular as survivor because it’s just constant camping, tunneling, sweating, bming, just general toxicity. There is virtually none of that in this 2v8 mode. It’s so casual. And as killer it’s the same except with my homies. It’s just overall a better experience imo. Like I HAAATE survivor in normal. But I enjoy it in this.
But yeah killer queues on both are buttcheeks. Clearly the incentives of BP isn’t working. I think maybe shards or bonus exp would be better. I care ALIT more about those than BP which I have almost no use for

I’m all for that. It’d make tunneling a little harder for em
