Honestly, the easiest way to fix Spirit is by slowing her down. Currently using a Mother Daughter Ring and Dirty Uwabaki, she moves faster than Hillbilly; using a Mother Daughter Ring and Yakuyoke Amulet puts her just below Hillbilly but faster than Double Windstorm Wraith.
Additionally, give her either a small dust cloud that you can see as shes walking (kind of like survivor blood) or a wraith like cloak.
I mean addons were already changed but I feel a direct tell is a bit much

It would mean having to use a perk slot for such tricks though.
True even if it doesn't work like In the diagram I made above it would still be giving up a perk slot that you might want for something better like stridor, bbq, pop or some other strong perk.

Going to stay 100% impartial here, but any effect of that change would be completely negated by Insidious, which also takes away your terror radius if you stand still at a rate of 8m/s. You still wouldn't be able to tell if she's phasing or just standing there with Insidious.
Explanation of my idea with how I think spirits power works based on description
But even if they didn't have insidious the longer you phase the smaller your terror radius just to give some sort of tell on longer close range phases
-
Wouldn't insidous by standing still with no terror radius immediately tell survivors when she starts phasing because survivors outside her terror radius hear the phasing sounds.
-
I feel the addon changes or the overheat changes are fine, BUT not both together, and if its only overheat let there be 2 new basegame addons that make him play like old billy

Not true..her ptb showed that too clearly man
So during the ptb the time where many people were new to it and didn't have all the perks addons and loadouts they would have is a good tell for almost 2 years later

There was a bug a while ago with Spirit making it so that you could still hear the phasing sound even in chase. I believe they fixed it but they really should just unfix it again lmao.
Thats pretty close to what this change is actually
-
@Freesham said:
The point of Spirit's power during a chase is that you don't know if she's using it or not when she's standing still. That's the point. She's a 110 speed killer who often needs to use her power to get hits. They already nerfed her being able to mindgame window vaults, and they nerfed her not clipping through survivors during phase walk.
She is a 110 killer but even without bothering to mindgame using her power moving at 7 meters per second for 5 seconds is more than enough to catch survivors and close distances.

I don’t understand...
Why do players think that the big loud vacuum cleaner isn’t enough of a tell of spirits power?!
Can't hear the big loud vacuum cleaner until a certain distance, with this the distance will shrink the longer she uses it so you know faster when running away

This is an awesome idea for EGC Boss!
Bjorksnas also has the right idea, but instead of blocking it, I think they should literally be removed by the entity in these periods of the EGC, like, simply if there was no pallet there, but this is only an aesthethic thing. In addition to the removal of the pallets by the timer, I think whole objects/walls should be removed next to that pallet, it would really start to make the map scarce for the survivors to work with, forcing them to leave ASAP.
As for the Outer Walls being removed, I think that's unecessary, like, if the survivors are already close to the walls, its really easy for the killer to down them quickly (mainly if there isnt many loop tiles remaining.)
Since whole tiles are being removed from the game, I think Exposed is kinda unecessary as well, since the killer will be able to down them quickly as well, since they wont be able to reach a tile to save them. (and we already have NOED for that).
The idea of the exposed is just that you are staying way too late and rather than the entity take your prize you just roll up your sleeves on the 2 killers that have them and say fine ill do it myself.

i dont feel this would work because spirit is very good because that unpredictability and doing that would give survivors the ability to just know when shes phasing and possibly where her whereabouts are
She is still very strong even without her unpredictability it would just knock her down a peg
-
noed not only requires, 6 hooks, but give up a perk slot, and make it to last gen popped with a dull totem remaining, trade off of 1% more speed boost across all tiers
no
noed is fine you just refuse to cleanse totems with your extra time you get from the killers lost pressure of not having a 4th perk

maybe chests spawn in 3-6 just for variety in amounts and so it doesn't feel like every maptile has a chest

-
It is a really strong perk that rewards you just for having it and doesn't require any change in play to gain its effect.
My thoughts was combine this with the changes to were gonna live forever and make it so 4 stacks lets you recover from the dying state once and decreased bp at level 1 and 2 but let it get 4 stacks and make unbreakable have a really fast recovery like 70/80/90% faster and can recover to 99%
-
Because often you have the idiot survivors that once they get off hook pester you for 15 seconds just to take a free hit and waste some time even when you clearly aren't going for them anymore and are trying to let them get away and heal.
-
Surge works with around 15 of the killers in the game the only ones who don't benefit from it are oni, pyramid head, billy, huntress and plauge with special attack, most everyone else uses it just fine.
But true that everyone should be able to use it I feel even if everyone could use it the effect ins't strong enough of consistent enough

egc should actually be scary but my main throughts were
75% half of the pallets at random are blocked
50% 3/4 pallets block 1/2 windows blocked
25% 7/8 pallets block 3/4 windows blocked survivor aura revealed within 32 meters
10% survivors are exposed and moriable but only if they were downed when exposed so people don't slug for 3 minutes then mori
This will make it much more chaotic if the exit gates are opened early before everyone is ready to leave with random resources of what ever is left rapidly dwindling on the map and the threat of being revealed and exposed near the end.

that may be but the point still stands, sometimes you gotta take risks, bending over backwards to please everyone usually just ends up with a dying game, just look at WH40k eternal crusade, starwars galaxies or guild wars (thats what the mmo was called right? it didnt have a separate name?), sure people play them but the numbers dwarf in comparison to when they first lift off.
DOTA2 has the right mind set, they make changes not giving a crap about the meta as long as it makes less used stuff stronger and strong stuff not so strong without breaking it they do it because they know people adapt or they get bored with the same meta day in and day out (cough ESO cough), hell on some occasions they DO deliberately break the worst stuff by making them op just to give them a chance to shine till they nerf it to more acceptable levels.
So because an ESPORT is rebalanced for more interesting gameplay a PARTY game should be balanced as if it were and esport.

Hex totems are supposed to be high-risk-high-reward. If you don't want to risk losing a perk, don't equip a hex.
There is 1 high risk high reward totem in the game and all the other ones are only high risk because 80% of the time totems just spawn out in broad daylight or in a jungle gym and the other 20% you are on an updated map

Freddy's powers vs any of the base game powers :)
your move.
point still stands if you know what killer your going against you already A: know what his power does bar some slight debate on addon impact and B: know roughly what perks they will be using due to killers needing specific perks to counter the best survivor perks.
on the other end of the spectrum if i load up killer i can see what skin their survivors are using but i wont know a single perk they will have till they use it or hell i wont even be able to do that if its stuff like spineless, bond, prove thy self, etc.
"Power/Talent" for survivor skins will give some perks the love they need while also giving the more over used ones to specific survivors so if they do select said survivor you at least know what their power/talent is just as well as how survivors know what a killers power does when they see the killer.
Freddy is only good because people don't know how to play against him and refuse to learn. Sure his teleport and sleep are strong but his power is countered by waking up every now and then, not letting him get early hits treat him like oni, and not looping in the same spot once asleep.
Also everyone that goes 4 meta perk go brr will complain and Its annoying enough to see them complain about spirit and freddy do you know how much backlash the devs will get if they removed their ability to go 4 meta perk go brrr

@Dsalter said:
the survivor issue could have been fixed long ago by giving survivors only 3 perk slots but making their strongest perk their "power/talent" so claud for instance would have self care built in or meg would have adrenaline as hers, then you buff the "powers/talents" to be power worth the forced slot and bam.
you now have survivors who you can KINDA guess how they work at first glance since you will know their "power/talent" but you still wont know their perks, similar to how survivors can roughly guess how a killers perks will probably be as soon as they look at you since they will know your powers.
this would also discourage stacking multiple super strong "safety" perks because most of them will be survivor "powers/talents" so you wont see D-strike on anyone unless its Lau or borrowed time on everyone unless they are Bill.
Can't do it because game just becomes pay to win with laurie

But the point you made is in support of dodging lobbies as a solution to swf if you don't want to face them. Do you not understand your own argument?
"It lets you know if you should dodge a lobby, people who aren't confident in their abilities as killer might be turned off from the game if they get curb stomped too hard by a swf in the middle of their gameplay being able to see if its a swf will let the less confident killers find another lobby where they might feel they stand a better chance." Your last point.
Your rationalization for this is really flawed, as if this is the only reason people will dodge a SWF group and it still leads to dodging.
Also the idea that it will let you "bring the appropriate power level" shows that you would alter your behaviour and gameplay to maximise your ability to win against an SWF. Again prompting potentially "toxic" builds and playstyle in response. Another point I made in counter to the idea.
Lastly new players can be outmatched by even one or two survivors being higher ranked than them and carrying the team, its not due solely to SWF and showing SWF does little to bolster new player experience other than giving them a justified option to dodge a lobby and increase wait times, and we circle back to my main point.
Also the map offering point is just an assumption about map offerings and swf, so again not really a strong point to make in of itself.
Given your other responses are just put downs and calling people cowards its clear your not here to make legitimate suggestions but more so to just rail against swf and anyone who disagrees. Hence this is no longer a rational discussion.
I hope this clears up any confusion.
Its in support of lobby dodging if they are a coward does that mean everyone will be a coward, no, does that mean there wont be cowards, no you can still dc at any point in the game that it gets too overwelming does that mean everyone does it, no, this will be just fine and for the 1/100 people that are cowards they probably already dodge suspected swf anyway so no real changes there

I'd switch places between Legion and Freddy and put Plague between Trapper and Doctor. Otherwise I agree with your list.
felt that plauge was too low but didnt like disrupting the bell curve but kept legion low because learning any other m1 kill learns him as well

Part of reason 5 is the same reason why they should never implement this. It will encourage lobby dodging, son unless they also add a increasing penalty of some sort for each lobby a killer dodges, killers will just start dodging lobbies until they either a find a 2 SWF 2 Solo or 4 Solo's
Would everyone do this no, but how much so many people complain about SWF on these forums it is highly likely that a decent portion of killers would actually do this.
Dc for a 2 man and 2 randos sounds like a coward

At this point, I am just going to assume you are [BAD WORD], because I simply quoted you and asked to end it. At no point did I try to state I was right in my final response or state you were wrong. I simply repeated your opinion you have of me, as its the same I share of you and asked to end it.
You then felt the need to try and make yourself sound correct and then end the conversation, which technically means I no longer just end the debate, because its conceding to you, which is wrong. Because your still missing the point no matter how many times I respond to you.
The point of this thread was never to enlist a response from the developers, it was simply to make sure they are aware that they should specifically state what makes a game "objectively fair". Your understanding of their wording is that they are going to answer every single question related to the MMR system, which given every other Q&A they have, I highly doubt that. I am saying, when they do release further information I want them to cover this information. I am not asking for a response now, as I've already stated numerous times.

It's by no means a poor argument, I'm offering a counter point to what you have said and probably the most valid argument against. Even the last point in your post says that letting people know its swf will allow them to dodge. The problem here is sitting in the lobby for 25 mins while people pop in and out because they know you are swf. That's to the detriment of 2 to 4 players for the minor benefit of 1 to 2.
I agree with some of the points you made but it doesn't change the issue that queue times for swf groups will increase due to many killers and solo survivors not wanting to be paired with swf. So if a few minor QOL improvements come at the cost of extended queue times in reality its not much of an improvement.
It also will likely promote killer toxicity because they know its swf i.e. 1 hook mori.
The only way to know is trial it and see if lobby times and dc's increase. But my educated guess says they will.
The final point... don't talk down to me mate, I never said I dodged, but just look at the forums about swf, there is a large community of people (both solo survivor and killer) who obviously will. I'm afraid your reply amounts to nothing more than a feeble attempt to trash talk rather than discuss.
When it comes to logical debate you need to "git gud..."
its a poor argument because the ability to dodge lobbies is one of the points and your argument is just no to all if it because of 1 point I disagree with

As a Myers main myself I never understood using monitor as I find he's stronger with a terror radius that allows him to push people off gens easier (providing ruin is being used and still up) unless someone is specifically going for the jump scare build on him.
Not for the push off gens but for the ability to start chases closer in tier 3 and to have an 8 meter terror radius to get easy stalk off unaware survivors in tier 2

People don't quite understand how to play hag, its like the nurse situation they play completely different and they don't understand it so they underestimate hags power.
Freddy is just an m1 killer but better not that he needs to be nerfed but he is close to the gold standard that m1 killers can be.
-
Heres one not affected by salt
As you can see No one is no skill because you still have to learn the base mechanics with some of the lower tiered and easier characters in the game.
From the bottom up Legion is just an m1 killer with an easy injure, if you learn the fundamentals from any other character you learn legion at the same time which means he is on average learned faster than other killers
Clown, Plauge, Bubba, and Wraith for the most part all play as m1 killers where pallets are effective means of deterrents against them and looping is still valid under certain circumstances unless the killer plays smart hence the lower skill gap because they still have play around potential
Myers, Pig, Executioner, Freddy, Friendly open faced flower also play as m1 killers but have their own gimmicks to strengthen them that you have to learn decently well to play effectively as them. Myers balances stalking with just straight up chasing, pig with slowing the game down now or waiting to do it later, executioner more for when to zone or not zone, freddy for when to teleport and where to place snares in chase, and demo on where to place portals and use shred.
Ghostface, trapper, doctor, spirit, and deathslinger all take some more skill because they rely on their powers to make up for their weaknesses and to gain advantage so have to use it smartly. Ghostface can use his power to sneak up, expose, or both at the same time, trapper has to decide which loops to close off with traps and where to place traps on the loops, doctor is big on timing and making effective use on addons, spirit while easy to play which really upsets people still requires a brain to play effectively especailly while sounds aren't working right now and death slinger for hitting shots and even perdicting out jukes.
Oni, Huntress, Billy can use their power to great extent but require a great deal of knowledge to get its full potency, oni has to learn loops and understand how to run them twice both in power and out of power, Huntress can hit cross maps that require timing, aim, and good judgement to even stand a chance of hitting, and billy can right now use his power on loops to cut off large parts of them and even hit survivors if timed well enough with a good curve.
Hag and nurse play completely different but also are in their own tier of potency and skill level, neither of them quite play the game like anyone else and thus take a longer time to learn because almost no skills transfer from other killers.
Overall no one killer no skill to play and this list could use a big revision to actually reflect the game
-
Use shadow born if you would like to see more. While it doesn't directly add anything other than fov to your screen it is a good luxury perk which means its nice to have.
-
The facts are all right there. They will cover the information they will disclose when they disclose it. When will they disclose it? wait and find out but expect it to happen some time soon.
Also the ideal FAIR GAME is people matched around the same mmr ???

50/50 pig
Amanda's letter, Last will (extra trap)
Indoor map offering game/Hawkins
Perks/Any (prolly endgame and noed)
Place 2 traps on survivors heads around the same time and before they can check any boxes go croutch in front of one of them
if you are lucky the 2 survivors won't get their trap off from the other box and can't get it from the box you are standing in front of and unless they have a key are guaranteed to die.
then go finish off the last 2 with endgame perks since thats where you will end up after the traps go off.

Killers say they would dodge because voice comms are equivalent to having every aura reading perk plus being able to stack second chances. Personally I think swf is fine but using voice comms in this game is as equally scummy as tunneling and camping
yes which is why I thought killer being able to see if they will have voice coms would help the killer out of the imbalance without nerfing survivors
