thats such a cop-out im done with this convo
next time just say "its too long" and "naw"
I mean it's true though. If they unhook in front of you it's a 1 for 1. there is no way to physically not down either unless desperate measures,bt, and dead hard in play. So explain how you couldnt get one down and how everyone made it to the lockers and magically has ds,ub, and sg. Doesnt sound realistic does it.

The comments this guy has been writing are amazing:
"Now, let me start this off by saying that I'm no dummy. The best killers in the world are some of the smartest people you'll ever find. It's no coincidence that killer-ability has been directly linked to player IQ in recent unpublished studies. When you get to be one of the better killers serving today, you develop an almost Herculean will-- a will that allows you to bend the match to any outcome that you choose. The map becomes your canvas, and your weapon, the brush."
You gotta be joking right? Theres no way he actually said that. Idk if I can say this but he maybe smoking a lil something lol.

@Punisher2001 said:
I play both sides equally so you can believe me when I say that every map is varying degrees of survivor-sided. In fact, Ormond is more survivor sided now because it forces survivors to adapt, which stimulates bloodflow in the brain and causes them to play better. Thanks again, devs.
Gonna be completely honest here. This was the most bs thing I've ever heard.

@TheClownIsKing said:
I’m getting a little pissed at the amount of killer powers lately whereby all a survivor needs to do is zig zag or 360 erratically in order to be untouchable by that power.
It’s getting tiresome trying to either Pounce, Lethal Rush, PoTD, Shoot, Shred, or Purge and it simply never touching a Survivor that does this. What’s most infuriating is that it’s far too easy for survivors to do. In Victor’s case he’s just far too easily punished for one miss. The disparity is absurd. Survivor puts in so little effort to avoid these powers, they could do it blind folded. Whereas the killer has to continually try and track/predict where the survivor is going next whilst trying not to succumb to total vertigo, only to miss anyway, and too bad, you’re now crushed.
I try not to let it stress me due to Victor’s insanely fast respawn, but when up against 4 survivors that do this and can’t be touched, it’s well... what do you do? It’s already evidenced that sending out Victor becomes useless, so I’m just meant just use only Charlotte? Stand in a corner and wait for the match to be over?
No hebalreadh has huntress hitboxes. Just turn on a hotspot if you really need an even bigger help.

@keygun said:
Have you played AS the twins?
Victor is EASILY dodged and stomped.
New killers come with a learning curve for both sides.
Also, devs want to implement a mechanic where Victor holds locker doors shut instead of hitting through them. Twins aren't finished.
It's not easily dodgeball with them huntress sized hitboxes he has.

this is every game with toxic DS survivors all roads lead to DS and/or losing
1.healthy survivor goes for unhook in my face
2.i injure healthy survivor and they use speed boost to get away after they finish unhooking
3.newly unhooked survivor works on gen 2 feet away from where this is happening
4.a. if i go to hit them when they have bt they get a speed boost to start a new chase
4.b. they dont have bt so they wait by a pallet or at a good fast vault angle and wait for me to start a chase or leave so they can work on a gen
5.a. when i am almost close enough to get a hit and end the chase they jump in a locker to DS and start another chase so i cant slug
5.b if i chase them they vault or drop the pallet and use that distance to get to a jungle gym with a locker to hide there when they lose the chase. if i dont chase them they just sit on the gen
"Didnt you say they unhooked in your face how did they hop in a locker then?" lockers are often close by hooks and with the bt speed boost if they are cocky they can always get to a locker. also i am recovering from the swing i just took on the unhooker. you got to take pressure where u can.
"Might as well eat their DS since you have a slug and can tunnel them later." a killer's time is 4xs more valuable than a survivors a 5 sec stun +another 20 seconds to catch up assuming no vaults or pallets. 20+5=25*4=100 seconds of gen time a gen takes 80 seconds if you do this once good survivors will win ever time if you do it twice any team with a heartbeat will beat you. i would rather chase someone else and watch for mistakes out of the corner of my eye.
"Also now its soul gaurd? Even with he new totem meta I hardly see it." what does the totem meta have to do with anything? yeah now its soul guard. the killer counter to DS is slugging, survivor counter to slugging is UB, killer counter to UB is hitting them right as they get up, survivor counter to getting hit after recovering is SG.
"I'm not calling you a liar or anything but come on seriously just a coincidence just sus but that's me." coincidence? liar? if you play red ranks you will see this no doubt im not lying this does happen. as for coincidence thats not what that means so i looked up the definition and pasted it here: "a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection." these events i am describing are not remarkable as they are common and they certainly aren't without apparent causal connection. this isnt chance at any point it is people choosing to do all of these things at every point
all of this is canceled because unless they have resilience or desperate measures if you hit then during the unhook animation they have to start over. Giving you ample time to hit the unhooked and get a new hook. But remember ds,ub,sg. Most likely dh right? So they wouldnt have those in their perks. It would be a hook trade. Also you could maybe even get a grab.
Once again I'm not saying your lying but under the circumstances it doesnt make you believable with how specific this is.

them hopping in a locker, them getting picked up by a nearby hiding teammate, the DS,UB,SB combo ect
Didnt you say they unhooked in your face how did they hop in a locker then? If they are doing a 1 for one you hit the unhooked and slug. Then go for the other. Might as well eat their DS since you have a slug and can tunnel them later. Also now its soul gaurd? Even with he new totem meta I hardly see it.
I'm not calling you a liar or anything but come on seriously just a coincidence just sus but that's me.

You are absolutely correct, a 5 second stun is literally nothing when you're dominating at 5 gens.
They have no room to complain.
And yes, Alchemist Ring is extremely overpowered, it has 0 downsides.
It was a bad example on his part not to talk about a game he destroyed in with good addons. Alchemist ring is litterally a better iri flesh because of how blight works. And it has less rarity so it's easier to stock pile.

because I physically downed them and hooked them last about 90 seconds ago and not only was there team devoted to gens it also took 2 teammates on hook with a 3rd on the way for them to even start playing altruistic and still being punished by survivors playing that way
If you did it 90 seconds ago DS would be gone. If they let their team get close to death before altruism as blight thats a free win I'm gonna be honest with you. You have insane map mobility and with your skips you should be ending chases quickly.
Also this is entirely subjective but I find intense games fun. Would you rather that be a cake walk than a hard game? I dont really understand when people complain about survivors getting gens. If you acknowledge both you and the survs were playing fast why seem down about it?

@Yamaoka said:
Step 1: Miss a few swings during every chase. This allows them to yell "I 360'd him hahaha the killer is so bad!" and be happy about it.
Step 2: Mindgame yourself on every loop so they can feel like they're god survivors. Let ALL 4 OF THEM loop you into the ground.
Step 3: Down only 1 single survivor towards the end of the game and pretend to facecamp as hard as you can. Also hit the survivor on hook multiple times. This fills their "bully-meter"
Step 4: Totally mess up when they try to rescue by hitting the hooked survivor "accidentely" so they can unhook in your face and rush to the exit gates.
Step 5: Stand still at the gate and let them enjoy their victory by tbagging you for minutes.
CONGRATS! You are now the killer (most) survivors want.
That is a huge generalizing on survivors. I seriously hope this is sarcasm. If I were to say the same ######### just reversed to killers I would get hate.

I would agree, but I do not think that makes them good.
I think they suffer from the same thing Old Legion did, he wasn't good, but he was so broken that there wasn't much you could do about him.
Their power can only be truly estimated when most of their bugs are fixed.
That's fair it's not even that they are unbeatable. They are just annoying. The most fun thing is the fact they are not immune to locker flashlight saves.
Hopefully we can see all these bugs be fixed.

To loop with good pathing. If he tries to flick you. You need to not be mindgames and be at the end of the opposite side of the loop hes flicking on. Other than that loop windows and surround yourself with pallets.

they had 2 gens left at the end of the game, we were all playing fast
Ok that's fair. So I have two questions did you win and why did you pick up a survivor knowing damn well you downed the one prior really fast. If you hooked a survivor,notice them get unhooked, then notice you have a fast down why pick them up again?
-
@bjorksnas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1799113#Comment_1799113
It happened again on mount Ormond resort, I hooked a survivor, then two of their teammates (no they weren't slugged each one was chased and downed then hooked individually) then they came across the map to save injured I went after the unhooked and got dsed for playing the game too fast and tunneling the entire team I guess.
So since you are complaining about not being able to play the game too fast how do you feel about gen rushing. Better yet would you feel good having the game end in 5 minutes because it goes both ways no body wants 5 minute games.

Victor can pounce in lockers, can camp effectively, has a generous huntress like hitbox, recovers 5 seconds after a crush, and is overall a mix of 4 killers (deathslinger,huntress,hag,t1 myers). That makes them so boring. Also I main killer so cut the survivor main nonsense.

I did see you play blight...and absolutely destroy a team at 5 gens. so now tell me what's one 5 second stun gonna do ontop of your skill as blight, ruin undying, tinkerer, and oh yeah apparently 180 flicks. Please tell me how you are losing the match.

-Only issues w/ Flashlights I've noticed is the lack of an indicator showing the blind. Every other aspect has been all smooth sailing for me. And no; I have no intentions of doing CJ Techs because the Killers I face don't entertain Survivors who're obviously up to something tricky. They just face the other way and pick the person up. Because the Killers I face do not have the TIME to waste, because Survivor teams are efficient. :/
-But I'm not here to argue on whether or not I can do the CJ Tech or if I can moonwalk or whatever other "Tech" that exists that someone w/ a good knowledge of the game could figure out.
-What I will argue about however is the Sway. If you aim up, and the flashlight still aims down. All you need to do. Is push your analog stick further up; so the beam is in the Killers eyes. It's worked for me- Every time. CONSISTANTLY. (since that seems to be something y'all are desperate for in "skillful" plays).
-But I still don't know how Muscle Memory is more skillful than Reflex- You'd think a more demanding activity requires more skill from the Player but maybe I just don't know anything anymore. :)
If you were to vault at the same time the killer turns you would still get the save. Cj tech's are not hard. Although this is not the topic of the discussion forget about this.
If you were to aim up and the flashlight has its normal position you would miss. Kudos to you if it works. I still hit my saves, cj techs, locker saves. It's just the inconsistency tha th bothers me. Who said I was desperate all I said is that the flashlight is bugged with recoil that cucks saves.
I never said muscle memory is more skillful that reflex. Also moving your analog a bit is not necessarily the most skillful thing its just tedious. Combine that with low frame rate and choppy camera its annoying. Even the pc players ik hate the recoil despite being on mouse.

I don't know I personally have found it very nice. And I'm a console player. Besides, CJ Techs have hardly ever existed on Console, or against any killer with a Brain. :/
Personally I'm not for the arguments that RNG=/=Skill because that's just another example of the Black and White Fallacy. There is a large grey space where RNG and Skill can exist. For example, a balanced map such as Shelter Woods has RNG to it, but with my knowledge of where pallets/loops spawn I can still keep a good pallet economy which is an example or RNG and Skill overlapping.
Similarly with Flashlights; but to much less a degree of skill, I simply need to slightly adjust my thumbstick so the flashlight lands where it needs to be if my Survivor is slightly off; another--dare I say it--EXTREMELY basic example of skill and RNG overlapping. I'm not sure how Aiming became such an extreme burden to the Dead By Daylight community all of a sudden. If the change is extremely overbearing for you, perhaps consider running some Add-Ons that you may not have considered such as the Grips or the Lens that Widen the Flashlight Beam instead of just slapping on Double Batteries, or Odd Bulb and calling it good.
I dont think you understand that the flashlights are bugged. For example even if you have it aimed up due to the recoil it can still aim down. That will ######### up a save and on console with ######### analogs adjusting is hard.
1 more thing cj tech exist just because YOU dont hit them doesnt mean I dont.
-
@RaingerPlaysDBD said:
The Sway is to add more Skill to the Flashlight and give a Purpose to the Accuracy Add-Ons, it even is said in a Quote on one of the Grip Add-Ons that many Deaths have been caused from "Sweaty Hands."
I actually like the Mechanic. However I still think all Survivor Items need a passover, and should be made more in-depth but not buffed (Keys need a Nerf with the Hatch Mechanic, but I'd be down for them unlocking chests, and having less outdated aura reading mechanics, same with Maps). I think Items should be made more complex. Have a set amount of Add-Ons similar to Killers.
No its straight recoil and is not supposed to move that much. It moves even if you arent using the flashlight. Click your flashlight at a wall wait a few seconds and click again and the location changes.

I'm getting confused now. So nurse isn't M1 but blight is? And people are saying hillbilly is?
If the definition is "not able to get a down with M2" then nurse, spirit, blight and Oni are M1 killers right? And trapper with honing stone or legion with Frank's mixtape (lol) technically aren't?
Or if it's having a power that helps you in a chase that's almost all killers, although the extent varies a lot
That's what I'm thinking ima edit my post really quick it seems no one is quite sure what the definition is.

using your power to get to get the speed boost you need to get the m1 is a bit different. while pressing m2 alone wont damage survivors as spirit or nurse its not really comparable to true m1 killers like trapper and myers as you can just appear right behind survivors with no chase potential and with little meaningful counter play from survivors
First I want to say a jungle gym has meaningful co uh interplay it's an eequal opportunity to outplay for both sides. Myers can be 99 and pop while close to end a chase instantly. Trapper however can use traps to zone or end a loop so still.

Non m1 can end a chase DURING a chase better than an m1 attack only by using a special attack that deals damage.
Basically if you still have to hit M1 to down them it is an M1 killer.
So I am going to disagree that "objectively" all who understand this concept are wrong so you can be "objectively right".
So nurse is an m1 killer then lol. You press m2 to blink and m1 to down. Like all the m1 killers.

If someone calls a killer an "M1 killer" then that's the term being used wrong. "M1 killer" works in scenarios, like an Oni at the start of the game is an M1 killer, a Trapper at the start of the game or away from any traps is an M1 Killer etc.
Yeah that's fair because kni doesn't have blood fury. He doesnt have his power. Trapper with a bag isnt m1 though because ge starts with traps. Which can then be used during chase.

@LobAutumny said:
When people talk about M1 killers, they don't mean "someone who can only M1," though even then there's still Wraith. What people mean by "M1 killer" is a killer whose power either isn't something you're gonna be using during every chase (Myers or Oni, for example), isn't very useful to use during chases (Wraith, Pig), or serves as an accessory to your M1 (Clown, Freddy). What these killers all have in common is that they all rely on the same basic means of dealing damage (at least, for the most part. Killers in the first category I mentioned could be seen as M2 killers when they actually are using their powers, though they still spend most of the time during a match as M1 killers).
It's a classification that's most useful when talking about perks. For example, STBFL is great for M1 killers, but not for someone like Billy, Huntress, Nurse, etc. It's also useful when talking about how to go about chases, as killers that don't fall into the category of "M1 killer" typically chase in very different ways from M1 killers, who all chase in relatively similar ways. If you're an M1 killer, you usually have some way to apply pressure to loops or shorten them to some extent, but your goal is still to get the survivor into lunge range as quickly as possible.
Compare this to someone like Huntress, Billy, Nurse, etc. and you'll see why this categorization exists. Compared to these other "M2 killers," M1 killers have relatively similar behavior during chases and benefit from relatively similar perks.
Ok this I think this is definetly the best response and I can see where you are coming from however it still does not change my mind because sure the chase is the 1v1 interaction and tis important you forgot about the 1v4.
Look just because their power may not the best anti loop if can pressure 4 opponents well like pig, who puts the survivors in a position to delay gen plps for the traps or risk it exploding you can rely on the killers skill to win the game alongside their power.
Trapper is technically anti loop if you have his trap at all times, wriath becomes 1v4z clown and freddy still anti loop, etc. But you do you understand?
I just dislike this m1 killer term because people use it to make a killer seem weak. Ghostface can litterally cancel a chase before it starts by 99 stalking but hes an m1 killer.
-
@zoozoom6 said:
m1 killer means if you couldnt press the left mouse button you couldnt get hits/downs. Or are forced to only m1 to get downs for large portions f the game. especially killers almost always down with a basic hit as opposed to a chainsaw, hatchets or that bat that oni has
billy, bubba , huntress ect. arent m1 killers
plague,legion and trapper are m1 killers
So by that logic nurse is m1. Her blinks dont down people.
-
@Boddy604 said:
So if we're gonna be that literal, then killers are only actually killers when they mori since the entity does the actual killing.

By the argument you're trying to make it is conceptually impossible for there to be M1 killers so your argument doesn't work. Even a killer who outright didn't have a power wouldn't be an M1 killer by this logic if they weren't 50 foot tall and neon pink as thier appearence could help them sneak up on and get a hit.
I dont think toy are understanding if they have a power that helps them get there downs they arent m1. That's all I said. Trapper for example has his traps to help cut loops. Even if by their design they are naturally stealthy they are still m1.

"No killer is an M1 killer cuz they all have a power"
Well... duh. Killers have powers. If your power isn't something that downs people, you're an m1 killer.
If their power assists them in some way they arent m1. An m1 killer would be a killer without a power entirely.

Despite how many are currently playing her, Twins DO in fact have several options as far as strategy. I recently found a way to use them that isn't slugging and camping, and it actually worked WAY BETTER than slugging and camping. So YAY, progress! I need to play with it more, but my only hint is that Charlotte does NOT need Whispers. She has it built in.
As for Killers not being M1, well, ya. Nearly any Killer player could have told you that. All Killers in the game have a playstyle that revolves around mindfully using their power to tip the scales in their favor. They all require nuance. Or Nancy. I require Nancy. Come to me, Nancy.
Well, all of them except Freddy. Half of his abilities are passive, so M1 away. Forgetting to set snares or teleport won't even hurt you that much. Just M1 until it is done.
Im assuming you are using victor at key locations to track survivors right? This is because of his killer instinct. I have heard of that, its effectiveness not really until now.
People like to bring up wraith when it comes to loops and how you cant do anything. Honestly a simple head fake(faking a direction and going the other way) works at filler pallets against most survivors in my experienced. But at every tile like jungle gyms, shacks you can outplay using your own skills.
Freddy is a whole different story he needs a change.

Spelling error. Even by that definition there arent any m1 killers because every power helps end the chase. Even wraith helps by getting his first hit. That is the first step of ending a chase.

In end game chat, one of them called me a N****r, and the other told me that I "played like a lil B***h" and should k**l myself, finally ending with, of course, a sarcastic "ggez".
I'm not offended by it, or asking for sympathy, but I'm just taken aback by how cruel people can be in this game, and I hope nobody goes through this that might have depression problem, or in phycological distress. (I did report them for harassment, hope these a**hats get what they deserve).
They just wanted to mess with you and eventually die. I dont think they wanted you to dc but to just interact with them all.

Four very good survivors with the best perks, items with add-ons, all split up on generators is a real challenge to beat.
"Beat" being a 4K here.
It's impossible unless one of them makes such a huge mistake that they hand you the game.
I thought that was a given though lol. If they are very good I expect them to be hard to eb ssd t thus the challenge I want. Also beat means 3k or above not a 4k. This is based on the devs criteria and it is accurate.
As a blight main I think I dont need to rely on them to make a mistake. But then again if I mindgame them at a jungle gym then I made them make a mistake. What I'm trying to say here is that you dont need to rely on them solely to give you the win. Also heres some food for thought you said "very good" not "perfect" therefore them making mistakes is inevitable.
