survivors have given themselves up so the killer can have at least 1 kill. killers have let a survivor go through hatch because of various reasons. both only happen occasionally. its like asking "why don't killers use no addons?" some do, its just not something that's common, and not something you should expect from everybody
-
I think adrenaline is op to people who consistently fail at stopping survivors from doing their objective.
-
they are fun. when you're tunneled off hook, and you have nothing to help prolong the chase, theres not much of a chase going on.

Anything is awful on Legion. Trying to balance the game around Legion is a fool's errand.
they're not and im glad
-
would've been awful if combined with legion
-
new ds wouldve already been utterly useless lol. now its about as good as no one left behind
-
I played a solo survivor game and we were all green ranks except for the killer. they were rank 18 LOL

@Aven_Fallen I actually really like this idea. It would obviously have to be a pink offering, but it'll give survivors an ultra rare and give something that's generally unfun to go against somewhat of a counter (other than never being hooked lol). While we're talking about things that can make the game far too quick, perhaps we could introduce an item that counters the key, though I'd be up for an entire rework of keys. Not sure what can or should be done with them.
but people are arguing that a mori can be wasted if people dc/die on hook. won't the survivor offering to prevent moris be wasted if there is no mori?
-
@fluffybunny said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/51546/mori-balance
The only way that would be fair is if everyone pauses when the killer does their mori (some of the moris take a while) and people could easily just deny it by dying on hook.
1. you get to mori someone else
2. you gain a big advantage when someone kills themselves
*removed what I said in parenthesis cuz it did not relate to what u said*

My idea is to eliminate the ebony mori and yellow mori completely.
Make the ivory in the killers base kit. Give a token for each survivor's first hook. If a killer has hooked everyone and four survivors are alive, he can than mori the next survivor he downs. I'd also give killers a blood point bonus for using the mori as well.
It rewards killers for not just camping and tunneling a survivor early on. Killers know that at some point you can't let it get down to a 4 men 1 gen situation. So that is why they often tunnel and camp. This gives them incentive that if they work on spreading the damage they know they can always turn a lopsided game around by earning the mori (or they can still camp/tunnel if they choose). It's fair to the survivor because if one dcs (on accident or on purpose) or if a killer camps, then the mori is out of play.
That's just my take though.
I like the idea of having to hook everyone before being able to use a mori. I don't like the idea of a mori being basekit, even if that means removing ebonies as compensation

Now maybe this will be invalid because it's my personal thing.
But I have failed to see a single mori of any kind, even Cypress, in the last twenty or so Bloodwebs on my Trapper. RNG is a cruel mistress.
In a way, yes, I'm saying the moris are justified. I get it can be unfair, but understand that moris are not something you can get every other bloodweb (not counting the [Bad Word] storm that was the Christmas Boxes). If it makes any difference, I'm fine with Self Care, exhaustion perks, keys, and whatever else exists.
ultra rare so its ultra fair!

Perks are forever. Offerings can be wasted.
Say what you will, but moris aren't brought every game (at least, not by the same killer). The average person does not have/can find enough to sustain a mori every game. And if survivors dc or suicide then the mori can't be used at all.
so because they're limited use it's fine? it's fine that u can skip 2 hook states and just kill someone because you can't do it often? not to mention they aren't even that rare with the very few-to-none ultra rares killer have. not even counting the green ones

When it comes down to running around a killer you got a point. Here's the thing.
Every killer or at least almost every killer has a certain way you have to evade them you can't just keep doing the same Loop pallet drop routine because that won't work on every killer especially with the plague because if people think that they can Loop her around normally then they are going to have a hell of a time winning against her when she finally drops.
Certain Killers like Huntress you have to be very careful about because they will destroy you if you try to jump past Windows, pallets or do any action besides from just running.
So you're right you have to learn how to fight against them and adapt.
yes. you can actually adapt with other killers (except nurse) and learn how to play around them. this is not the case for legion.
-
@Shad03 said:
People tend to forget that Moris didn't require hooks at all to begin with. No, the moris already require you to HOOK a survivor. Requiring another hook basically means you shouldn't have brought a mori anyways.
i didn't forget. that doesnt mean moris are fair or balanced.

so survivors are mad that they can't abuse a designflaw/exploit (palletlooping) against a killer that is designed to down survivors within the time that devs envisioned in the first place.
no hipocricy at all.
no? you're only happy with legion because you're not competent enough to learn how to run loops/structures. you seriously have a problem with survivors efficiently using pallets instead of dropping them all instantly? sounds pretty braindead

I will admit I was exaggerating. But I was not exaggerating a lot of the games are secured for the win for me and my team with that friend running the killer.
in that case, its just a good survivor vs a bad killer. probably playing a low tier killer. probably not running perks that are strong. probably coldwind. a lot of factors come into play.
-
@TeaLeaf said:
Killer is more stressful due to the fact unlike survivors the killer is constantly time senstive. Every action and decisions is eating up time and its imposible to know how much each sec matters at that moment. Are people eating away at the gens, are your totems being destroyed, how good is this survior and how much time can i let them loop me and still possibly defend a gen. Gates are powered, I have maybe 2 mins left to do something. Survivors have no time strains, they can work as stealthy and slow as they like. Killers don't have this on their side.
in your example you give off the idea of being ######### on by survivors. if the killer is destroying the survivors, do they not also have a time limit until they're all dead? you work slow, your team dies.
-
Idk. when the game is no longer reliant on my team, and the outcome of the match is based on how I play, killer can be a lot more fun. only time that isnt the case is when theres multiple Insta heals or when survivors hug a broken structure all game
-
5/10 I can play well enough without it on killers like wraith and pig, but I play nice to the point of throwing the game, so it helps

On 100% of the matches against various killers?
jungle gyms are strong structures. not strong enough for a 5 gen chase. unless you're against a truly new player that many games in a row, you're lying.

By design, you are not able to hold off a killer indefinitely. It's the same for every single killer.
but you are able to hold off any other killer for a good amount of time (except nurse) if you're good enough. legion just sets every chase to a predetermined timer and theres nothing you can do about it. @George_Soros listed counters to legion but everything he said is something you try to do against every killer lol. dunno why he tried to categorize them to just legion. why we hate legion isnt due to him being weak or strong, its due to him ignoring a survivor's way of running from the killer making every chase boring, and not worth playing
-

I have a friend who doesn't even need pallets. Just a jungle gym. He can literally hold a killer off with ONE pallet an entire game, to the point the killer just kinda ignores him.
100% the killer's fault

?
I'm gonna answer in the way I interpret it. Please tell me if I completely missed the mark.
I know the fine line between fiction and reality. I don't treat this game as real, I only made the comparisons because (le gasp) I am sick of 'killers' whom dodge lobbies because of items. And then you have survivors who aren't afraid of the killer as they should be.
I understand this is a game, but it's a asymmetrical HORROR game that should make you afraid since as a survivor you're in the weakest role when alone. People just didn't get the memo that killers are supposed to be scary. Instead they treat killers as a joke (I've done so too, even in games like Outlast, Slender (back when I wasn't completely jaded), etc).
its a horror game for the first 2 hours of playing it. no one "should" be afraid of the killers, we have a teen in a mask as a killer, and people that wanna ######### the spirit??? I doubt anyone with more than 50 hours of experience finds the game scary anymore. i only asked that question because you felt comparing the two was enough justification as to why people shouldn't dc or taunt their opponents

So do you DC against the nurse?
no where near as often as I do vs legion, but if I'm solo I'm not gonna deal with omega blink + ruin nurse. at least with nurse you're not braindead botting at everyone u see
-
why do u keep comparing reality to a video game?

It’s not okay to dc. If you don’t like the killer, suck it up buttercup and deal with it. With that kind of attitude, it’s seriously no wonder why survivors want easy games.
it is okay to dc. if i dont like the killer, i dont have to suck it up because i can dc. its just not okay to dc too often, thats when you'll be facing bans. also i can replace "survivors" in your sentence with "killers" and be saying nothing because i based that statement off people who dont know what they're talking about (you)
-

I meant me while playing the Nurse. I can handle blinking to any location, as long as I have some point of reference. The corn is just the same in every direction. I have nothing to go on in that case.
oh, the way u stated it made it seem like u were talking about the nurse herself, not just you, my bad

Well, the Nurse doesn't play herself, does she? I'm playing her, and I have a terrible sense of orientation. The blinking only makes it worse. This is not something that can be fixed.
what did u mean by "completely neutered due to a map"? i assumed u were talking about the nurse but i guess u could be speaking of the game in general.

I rarely play her, in fact, and for a very good reason. I hadn't played her in months, and when I picked her up again, I get Rancid Abattoir. Nearly every single time I play the Nurse, I get Coldwind Farm. I'd rather just play something else that isn't completely neutered due to a map.
nurse doesnt care about corn. just need to learn to watch corn move and get better corn vision

@Karl_Childers said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/359671#Comment_359671
Well I don’t think that would be fair, cause that means a killer who’s not tunneling could get DSed.
I think it’s pretty simple how this perk should work. Shorten the clock up, I think 30 sec or so would be fine. However, it stops in chase or when downed, similarly to how Pigs bear traps work. This means the killer IS legit tunneling me, but my own ability to run (or his lack of ability to down me quickly) doesn’t effect my ability to use the perk.
yeah that's more reasonable
-
@PiiFree said:
There is absolutely no point in bringing ruin if you face a group of skilled survivors, that's why good Killers will consider other perks instead.
Now here's the thing though:
- You don't know the skill level of the survivors
- You don't know the spawn place of Ruin
Those are two big risks you have to take when you bring Ruin. You hope for a good spawn and you hope for incompetent Survivors.
Normally and logically, I would say that the chances of getting incompetent players in high rank is rather small but in a game like DbD where even unskilled players can easily reach Rank 1, that appears to be different.
Ruin is technically a noobstomper perk, skilled Survivors will just ignore it but because there are so many unskilled players in Dead By Daylight, it's actually still pretty good even in high rank.
The effectiveness of Ruin is solely based on the incompetence of Survivors and/or the spawn location, nothing else matters.
And the fact that you think Ruin makes games almost unwinnable just proves my point. It's almost unwinnable for people that suck, but it's effectively no difference for players with skill.
for starters, its obvious that ruin will hurt a lesser skilled player a lot more than a better one. I never said ruin makes a game unwinnable. who ruin is paired with is what will make a game unwinnable (I also pointed out if you're solo). which is why I said earlier to another user " if u get better with billy you dont need ruin". these killers are high tier for a reason, they have the map pressure others lack and make up for with ruin, to buy them time. also you pointed out even bad players can hit rank 1. another reason why solo against a decent ruin billy is basically unwinnable
-
@Bongbingbing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/359671#Comment_359671
So you want full immunity from the killer until they hook someone else? What's balanced about that?
60 seconds is a huge amount of time considering how fast these games are. Even if you stretch the trial out to 10 mins that's 10% of the whole match you have a free escape.
according to how some people feel about current ds, it'd be a lot better than how it is now. and you're not immune, you can still he downed and slugged to create pressure
-
@HeroLives said:
I’ve honestly seen my fellow survivors completely throw matches Bc they refuse to get better and learn to hit these skill checks and would rather have three of themselves running around looking for ruin going down back to back Bc they won’t get in a locker for bbq .
it is certainly a survivor fault. They can’t handle it. Too busy freaking out than thinking or trying I guess🙄
to be fair, if you got better with billy, you wouldn't need ruin in the first place
