I play Trickster with a controller and it's fine. It used to be really bad but they improved the aiming quite a bit. I recommend starting with the extra blade and ricochet add-ons so it's pretty forgiving to learn him. Once you get the hang of it, it's just as simple as any other range killer.
-
I like it, but the cooldown on it always seems pretty long when I use it.
-
- Keys with zero charges no longer can open the Hatch.
-
File this under "The Entity never quite gets things right".
-
I'm not really seeing the balance here with these suggestions. It's more balanced in it's current form, killer runs 3 perks all game, and it can easily be countered by breaking a totem. I don't see it being very useful to a killer, or even a real threat to survivors with the changes you suggest.
-
Adept achievements are challenging but not impossible. You will get them eventually, it might just take some effort.
-
Wraith's base kit is pretty great now, but honestly the All Seeing addons are a little too overpowering.
-
Billy is still really strong, he is just harder to master now. So instead of working to master him, people just switched to Wraith or Bubbles.

The devs themselves thought the Hillbilly was a very balanced killer, and presumed that overheat wouldn't do anything but punish campers. 3 seconds is pretty punishing if you ask me btw, I don't think you've ever played Billy.
And I'm afraid that's not how it works. Overheat discourages people from doing the skill-based plays.
I don't think you know how to play against him, but you'll probably learn how to play against him sooner or later.
Quit with that rhetoric about the devs thinking he was soooo balanced. If that were true they wouldn't have nerfed him.
Overheat gives you 10 seconds of revving before it kicks in, that's plenty of time for a skillful play. You are free to think whatever you want about how I play or if I have played Billy, my personal play style doesn't have jack to do with the reason he was nerfed.

3 seconds is enough to reach a pallet or window.
He takes less skill to play, his power encourages you to eat the survivor's ass (backrevving) and down them while M1ing in loops, instead of going for cool plays like flicks, which'll screw you over because they're trial and error, and overheat will screw you over if you keep messing up.
How did having an extremely forgiving ability that could easily get fast downs somehow take more skill? From what I've experienced, being able to figure out the "trial and error" part and not mess up in the first place takes MORE skill than was previously required as it requires more planning and precision. The points you made appear to me as confusing ease of use with skill. Using the gutter bumpers in bowling to get more strikes doesn't make someone a skillful bowler. The Hillbilly wasn't just nerfed for the hell of it, there was a valid reason.

Except there was a punishment if you missed or hit something a 3 second cooldown that allowed survivors to escape so Hillbilly already had punishment in place if he didn't land an attack. And the current overheat punishes him even more then the punishment already in place.
"Allowed survivors to escape"....sure whatever you say. His punishment practically did nothing, no loss of vision, you could still move, and you had everything back in 3 seconds. Legion has a bigger punishment for missing his power than Billy did and he doesn't even have a 1 hit down ability.
Billy takes more skill now than he did before, not a whole hell of a lot more, but just enough to drive away the people who used him for his previously easy and forgiving gameplay.

And you need to anticipate them juking, going around objects, proximity to windows and pallets and wether you'd get it off in time or not. Like I said not easy.
And if you missed, no big deal because with no cool down you could just spam the saw again. It was easy, that's why it was nerfed.

Boy, you'll definitely hate Blight.
Blight barely has a one shot ability, has an ability cool down, and takes a lot more effort to play effectively. I don't see how he has the same problems as old Billy.

Or he's not fun to play anymore. That stupid roar, terrible music, and jank animations have sucked alot of life out of him. Then they added a pointless mechanic and left him with all D tier addons. After all that why would people play Bill anymore?
So there you have it. You like easy mode, a lot of players do. He is still fun to play, his core gameplay is the same You just aren't having fun because it's not as easy to win as it used to be.

You do know it took actual skill to down with the chainsaw wasn't like Bubba where one miss and you can still get them.
Yeah, actual minimum skill. This isn't complex woodworking, you just get behind a survivor and press a button.

It's not like that. Survivor have something called "looping mechanic". Billy also has a learning curve to his power, so to master him you would need a lot of hours on him.
"Minimal effort" then I sure you can do great with him against 4 decent Survivors? With ANY Killer the situation of "hook one person and go for another one" applies, because potato Survivor don't loop, they just go down and come here in the forums to cry on how OP a Killer which has a lot of counterplay is OP.
Quit bull [BAD WORD]. It was too easy with old Billy. Just like it was too easy with old nurse or Freddy 2.0. And on console red ranks were just saturated with Billy players, because it was easy.
He is still a good killer, but look how much less he is played now that he requires just a little bit more skill.
-
Because it was way too easy to be successful with minimal effort. Just thrown on Whispers, BBQ, Ruin, and whatever else. Zip over to where whispers is going off, 1 hit down someone with saw, hook, see other survivor with BBQ, zip to him, 1 hit down with saw, hook, BBQ, repeat until done. The saw needed a cooldown.
-
What do you have to verify that "most SWFs are chill and they are not really good"? How can you prove this, and what exactly qualifies as "chill"?
-
Wraith has the most toxic/abusable build capability that I know of. The purple and pink all seeing add-ons combined with mass slugging are an #########'s delight.
-
I'm just trying to get all the crowns, so I don't have cakes with every character. I use the best BP offerings I have though if it's not a cake.
-
I play quite a bit and don't really see too many key escapes both as killer and survivor. I watch a lot of streamers too and don't really see it happen very often to them either. But when it does happen people go nuts I wonder what the escape rates are with keys?
-
I like him, he is a good challenge to play as. But wow do I get some salt when people lose to him.
-
I really like Trickster, and with his upcoming buff he is going to be pretty strong.
-
A survivor who uses a wheelchair would be pretty great.
-
Most of my solo queue teammates are actually pretty good at the game.
-
So what I enjoy as a survivor is to have fun like you example. I play solo, at current red ranks, don't really bring meta perks, and just look to have a good game. With the skill based MMR, I got exactly that. The games I played were all surprisingly really good. I wasn't matched with sweaty players, most of the killers and survivors were all pretty chill. My survive/death ratio was probably 50%, but all the games were fun and I pipped every match that I remember.
On killer, with the characters I normally use, I wasn't dominating or getting completely stomped by SWFs, once again, fun games.
My point is, for a casual player who wants to have fun, the MMR system seemed well implemented.
-
They need to buff all the other killers to Spirit level, then balance the game around that..,,.
-
Guess my Executioner didn't have a rating. At least I hope he didn't.
-
Chapter: Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
Killer: Leslie Vernon
Survivors: Doc Halloran (We really have to get Robert Englund in this game somehow)
-
Kindred is super powerful and making it basekit would take a lot of fun out of the game for me as a survivor. The fun of the game is not knowing what other people are doing and having to make decisions based on the information you do have.
-
With the Wraith changes, I can finally run meme builds on him and still be a threat to survivors. Yesterday I was running Thrill, Undying, Haunted Grounds, and Hoarder as a "screw your rift" build. I was destroying survivors, at red ranks. Ok, maybe he is a bit over tuned, but I think he deserves it, at least for a little while.
-
The sound the plague makes when you cancel her purge. Now that's a sound you can taste.
-
I've submitted this a few times as a question/suggestion for the dev's Q&A sessions, even always put it as my #1 suggestion in their surveys, but they have never addressed it. It seems like it would be a really effective way to judge your performance as both killer and survivor post match.

I am for report feedback but you can create a feedback system without an auto ban system. Some of us are concerned because we haven't seen an auto ban system in a game that hasn't been abused. WOW has it. You can spam report anyone you want and get them temporarily timed out in chat. PUBG has it. Same thing, you can spam report someone and get them temporarily banned from playing even if they weren't cheating. And considering how many people post about tunneling, camping, tea bagging, flashlight clicking, and body blocking are toxic behaviours that BHVR should punish, would absolutely falsely report in attempt to try and get people banned in an auto ban system. Even if it's temporary, how is being temporarily banned for not breaking a rule a good thing?
Also, some of us don't feel like this is a feature they should even be putting resources into and are expressing our opinions about it on the forum where we are supposed to express our opinions and concerns about the game, especially when there are many other things the community has been asking for for years. I still haven't seen a thread started by anyone saying "OMG, AN AUTO-BAN SYSTEM, JUST WHAT THE COMMUNITY WAS ASKING FOR" since the announcement.
But a system like this probably was a priority of the community. I know I marked that it was in the community surveys they put out, because some of the community's player behavior is the top reason I wouldn't recommend this game to friends.
Designing a system that can detect when someone is doing a legitimate report and when someone is just spam reporting is something I'm sure the devs are taking into account. From what I've read, the uproar is from people who probably play like dicks and are worried that their actions might have consequences. Just don't break the official rules and you will be fine. I've played a bunch of games with reporting features, zero times banned, and I imagine I'll be banned zero times with whatever system BHVR implements in DbD.

Harassing, if you mean end game chat has filters now so you don't see the "bad" words anymore. You even don't see words that aren't bad. Harassing outside of the game chat will not be banned for by BHVR as stated in their game rules. Rage quitting is already auto-ban. You even get banned for legitimate disconnects like your power went out. "Being a dick" is the same as toxic. It is way to subjective. A lot of people think tea bagging and tunneling are toxic. These are also not reportable offenses as defined by BHVR in their game rules.
That leaves cheating, taking the game hostage and exploiting. These are already able to be reported. The only problem is BHVR wants video evidence as well and I am guessing most people don't record their games. But I guess I don't mind that video evidence is required because it would be too easy to say someone is cheating, exploiting or taking the game hostage when they aren't.
The current system is pretty lousy though and you never see the results of your repot. BHVR seems to be saying that since the current system is inadequate and they are working to improve things to where people will see the actions of their reports, and the actions will come faster.
How is this not a good thing? Some people seem more worried about getting auto-banned for "no reason" rather than pointing out the positives that this system can bring. Detecting abuse of a reporting system is already something that is used by similar reporting systems and would help to ensure that people aren't just banned for no reason if they are following the EULA.

What do you consider toxic behavior?
Cheating, harassing, taking the game hostage, rage quitting, exploiting, and being a dick.
-
I'm all for it, it sounds great, a system that can ban toxic behavior. I hope it also tracks people who try to abuse the auto ban system, and bans them too. People need to stop being dicks to each other.

They probably all ran out of Chewed Pens and Address Books.

I hope they throw in some margarita gens too, I miss those.

That controller thing worked btw. And after force closing the Steam big picture it hasn't occured again. Maybe the witch works via the Steam overlay.
I also disabled the Steam overlay and disabled sharing of my ip via p2p networking on the same settings tab.
Maybe somebody have been flooding me.

That is such a weird comment considering I am very deep in to black magic.
So you know that if there is no natural cause or change that you are aware of, so maybe a supernatural one is possible. Be careful how deep you go!
-
It sounds like a witch has cursed you. The only way to break the curse is to switch from using keyboard and mouse to a controller. Witches can't use their powers on a PC player who uses a controller. Do this and the curse will be broken before the next new moon, or rank reset, whichever comes first.
-
-
I find solo queue is easiest when you are flexible with what you are doing. Use aura reading perks, Kindred, Bond, Blood Pact, Better Together, whatever, to see what your teammates are doing and fill in the gaps. Nobody doing gens, do gens. Nobody going for hooks, go for hooks. Everybody on gens, haha just kidding, that doesn't happen.
-
I really think the only thing about Wraith that needs a nerf is All Seeing - Spirit add-on. That add-on makes it too easy to troll other players when combined with All Seeing - Blood. Just go to where a gen turns colors, slug who is there, repeat. There is a dude that does nothing but that on his stream every time he plays.
-
Using hook escape attempts for no reason.
-
Keys do need to be fixed, I hate it when I find broken ones.

Lol settle down it's a figure of speech not direct attack on you as a person. You're just getting edgy because what I said makes sense.
Sure what you said makes sense, but that doesn't mean it's a fair outlook on the situation. By saying I can't compare the two, that's pretty much giving a "nuh-uh" response to what is a valid comparison, both Devour Hope and keys cause the game to end earlier than expected.
It might take 10 seconds to open a chest, but you have to factor in time spent looking for chests while evading the killer, which again is wasting time for just a CHANCE to find 1 of 2 types of out of 18 possible items that will get them a key. Then you take into account the time the person usually wastes looking for the hatch instead of doing gens. I've been in plenty of matches where all 5 gens could have been done, but 1 survivor had found a key and was just looking for the hatch the rest of the match and it gave the killer an advantage.
5 stacks from Devour Hope isn't even half of the killer's total hook objective, and that allows them to totally remove players from the game, even if they have never been hooked. That seems to be about the same as survivors using keys to escape after doing 2 generators.

Can't really compare having to use 2 perk slots that require 5 hooks and will 9/10 be destroyed by the time you reach 5 hooks to opening a box that takes 10 seconds for a chance of a free win/escape.
Don't tell me what I can or can't do.
