  • I would hire devs to make my own version of DBD, only it won't be busted XD

Tbh if you're downed the killer should be able to pick you up, not simply watch and wait politely

The killer does have a weapon. Hit the survivor healing. If they're too close to the exit gate, they escape, but nobody playing killer will just watch and wait.

  • I picked nurse because I thought the question was implying "who would you pick to fight in a 1v1 on your behalf" so thought it was a nobrainer LOL. If we're talking who would we rather fight, then yeah Ghosty... Just a normal dude.

  • It makes sense that deception would open a locker when a survivor is inside as you can walk up to a locker and open it when a survivor is inside. They close it, sure, but it still opens. Some other things to consider:

-How often does this even happen? I've been playing for over two years and this has happened to me once. And to be honest, it was so long ago, I don't even remember if I was in the locker, or was the one who opened it with deception.

-Finally... its SUPER hilarious when it happens. Not if its used to sandbag, I mean when a survivor is using it in chase and you happen to be in that locker. Why take away one of these rare gems? I mean whether its actually hilarious is a matter of opinion, but I choose to live in a world where its funny. This isn't a mechanic that will ever change, I'll eat my hat if it does, so may as well roll with the punches XD.

  • you said it in the first sentence... you can break the pallet. If that causes the survivor to escape, well they escape sometimes. sometimes they don't. Either way the pallet's gone if you choose to break it.

  • Fun to use in the cornfield on Coldwin Farm XD

But it's not a team strategy. It's only useful after the killer earned a kill at an exit gate.

You didn't earn that kill until you're hooking them on their death hook. Downing them doesn't earn you that kill. If they can get heal teched out of the gate, that kill was likely going out the door. A heal tech out the gate is the equivalent of a flashlight save, only another survivor had to risk getting hit and possibly downed for it.

Now if there was a bug that caused a survivor healing a downed teammate to not have a hit box, allowing them to keep heal teching them everytime you tried to pick them up, allowing the survivor to keep crawling out, then that would be an exploit.

Feel free to screen shot this when the community starts dcing every legion game.

Highly doubt people who normally don't DC because they're not babies, will suddenly start DCing because of this. Imagine using people who DC as proof of anything other than, they will only play a game if its going their way.

  • As someone who plays Myers a lot, I don't see anything wrong with this. He has a high learning curve like nurse and in the hands of someone who actually puts in the time to learn how to play them well, he's a tour de force. I hope to get this gud one day... No nerf needed 😂😂😂

I like how there’s this arms race of determining what is exploits now.

    This game is doomed.

labeling arbutrary things an exploit is the new "calling anything and everything toxic" or "calling anything and everything tunneling" XD

I can't tell you how many downed survivors got to escape because of a heal tech, but it's not many. Not SUPER rare, but maybe 1-3 times a month? Personally, I've never felt it was an exploit.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

Honestly that looks way more significant than I was imagining. Looks like stuns are going to be highly prized.

I would HOPE that this encourages solo queue teammates to stop just blindly predropping pallets less and actually try for the stun more. Big ask from people who just hold W and drop every pallet in chase when they're not even looking behind them I suppose XD

  • Not only did you pay way less for the outfit as Laluzi mentioned but you TECHNICALLY got them for free as you get the money back in auric cells throughout the rift. Not really getting your money back if you were never going to buy cosmetics in the store outside the rift, but if you were going to spend that 10 bucks in the store, well you got rift cosmetics for "free" and now can spend the auric cells in the store for additional cosmetics.

At least there's event stuff that, as far as I know, never go to the store. Even if they do, they were a separate grind from the rift, totally free, so even if others get to buy them later, yeah it blows its not exclusive, but at least you didn't have to pay.

Hello! It's just a little idea I had... as you may know, every Prestige 3 Character before the update gets a new legacy portrait with an animated scratchmark gradient that goes from bottom to top on the back

I think it'd be cool if in addition to that, your tile (with perks, items, add-ons and points) in the End-Game Screen also had an animated scratchmark gradient that goes from left to right in the background so you're able to show off your dedication to other players!

There are literally already restrictions in the game when it comes to perks working with powers.

If you're talking what does and what doesn't activate the perk, yes that's one thing. Certain perks on both sides have scenarios like that. Restrictions or certain criteria for a perk to work isn't what I meant. What your title implies is not allowing certain killers to use certain perks. That's what my comment was in regards to, and that would be a slippery slope. But ok, you meant restrictions, not making a perk accessible to certain killers.

Now if you're talking about restrictions like what type of attack gives thana a stack, I'd rather they just tweak the % of what the perk does if its too op (I feel like they went a bit crazy with it, this buff), but the way its activated is fine in that case. But I agree with what someone said, it's easy for legion to keep all 4 survivors injured, if they're just sticking together, but some teams won't do that. Or get them to wiff and end their frenzy. It takes Plague some time to get someone injured via her puke.

So aside from the %'s being a bit high, I think them getting full advantage of always having 4 stacks at all times is very countable.

  • there should have been a slight increase to BP paid out as well as the increased cap. Nothing crazy like 100%, but just a little boost to make it easier to get to the cap.

  • I wanna say they're staying around to give the killer a free hit so they can get extra BP. As for the tapping W thing, IDK, maybe just being silly I guess.

I may be misunderstanding what you're describing though. Sometimes I stand there to give the killer a free hit to get some last BP, but if the others are clearly going to teabag and all that I just leave (unless the killer was toxic, then its Teabag City, USA XD)

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

Neither of those things are free. Plague has to find and infect survivors which takes time, legion is on a timer to get health states and is easily countered by thinking survivors who split up. Arbitrarily restricting perks is just unintuitive and unnecessary.

I agree. Its a slippery slope if they started doing such restrictions. The second BHVR implements something like this, after the first time its going to be what 90% of what this forum becomes.

"The Artist or Freddy shouldn't have access to Dead Man's Switch" or "bubba shouldn't be able to use insidious" ect, ect, ect....

  • @Mooks said:

you have to report them on the platform where the harassment actually takes place.

so in DbD if they harass you in end game chat for example you can report them directly kn the end game screen and don’t need to create another additional player report ticket to support.

harassment on Steam, Twitch or other platforms, BHVR can’t do anything

True BHVR can't do anything directly on those platforms, but they can still block on Steam and Twitch if they're posting/commenting. Kinda sad when you have to ban people on multiple platforms which means they're taking the time to go out of their way but at least you could always think of it as "wow, I affected them to this degree that they got so mad about BS they're wasting all this time? sad. oh well (ban, ban, ban)" and hopefully just shrug it off after banning.

The game isn't about to change massively.Maps aren't getting smaller. M1 killers wont be viable. Pallet counts are not changing. The power of Shift W and pallet pre-drops will not change.

All the gen defense perks will be massacred; with that in mind gens will take less time overall. Looking just at Pop - it is easy to get about 5-6 Pops per game if you are not playing a super organized team. That means you make gens take 110 seconds longer.

If you lose 3 gens in the first chase that means those three gens take 10 seconds longer and the other two gens take 7 seconds longer each. The last time I checked 44-110 is a negative number. This is only considering a single perk being changed.

How is this game not going through a lot of big changes? What has this past month of announcements been about then? And what exactly did you want them to do about survivors pre-dropping pallets?

I would say it's a common trend at this point but I genuinely haven't seen anyone post a Tru3 video in a long time, gens will be longer and some actions shorter next patch, I feel like posting videos like this right now are entirely pointless when the game is about to change massively.

I mean its still a huge deal for the next week or so, so we should still address it as much as possible no? LOL (kidding, I agree with you)

  • If you apply pressure, if they get one gen done before that happens or 3, it really doesn't matter if you get that pressure to snowball. Survivors don't always just get 3 gens in the first 3 minutes or so, sometimes they do. And its going to take gens longer to complete now so that's a plus for killers.

And you do understand the lack of simple logic in the statement "easy 4k face camping" right? If you facecamp you lost the game, unless the survivors themselves want to throw the game at your feet.

Lmfao even with NOED+Blood Warden combo, getting 4k simply by standing still camping is just NEVER happening unless you're a Bubba with everybody simply standing still grouped together for you to chainsaw through.

Lmao 4k by camping... This guy 🤣

Sure, face campers never get 4Ks. Cuz solo queue isn't a thing. You never get face camped and get teammates that just crouch near the hook wasting time instead of gen rushing like they should.

And who stands still with NOED? Yeah, go ahead and bring in as many other perks to this conversation to make your argument relevant.

Oh, P.S. Bubba is one of the main killers used for it, but go ahead and think that's rare. And whether they get 4K's or not, they still do it to try to get a 4k, bc standing there is easier than actually chasing survivors.

You on the one hand say facecamping is an automatic L for killers, then you got the other in here saying the top dbd streamers use it as their tactic to get wins. You camping "experts" are all over the place.

I think the things from event tomes will be put into the store, or at least the full outfits will. In past Rifts, David & Nurse's blighted/halloween outfits were on there, and then added to the store just in time for Halloween. They did that for some ugly sweaters too, when they were accessed by codes during the advent calender thing they had.

I think it's extremely likely that Mikaela's witch Halloween outfit from the Midnight Grove event would be put into the store for the Halloween season of 2022. As far as I know, it's her version of the Vigo/Blighted/Halloween outfit with Event rarity. It'll be a year old by that time, and then they can charge an individual price for it, instead of making it challenge-based.

For the Haddie & Dredge outfits, idk. They're not just neat recolors like Claudette, Slinger, David, and Wraith had from years 4 & 5. They're very unique and cool models. Plus the fact that Haddie and Dredge have very few items as it stands, they might actually return if BHVR knows it will sell.

Yeah, I guess time will tell. I'd think the masquerade stuff won't since the 4th and 5th-anniversary stuff never went to the store. For last years halloween stuff, I'd think its either this halloween or not at all for the store. I wish they'd stay out of the store, but even if they don't, its still stuff we didn't have to end up buying. I know they avoid doing exclusives (mostly), but I like the idea of having stuff that shows how long you've been playing. But I guess event-tome unlockable cosmetics is a relatively new thing. I think last halloween was the first possibly? So if that's the case, and they are going with the "in the store when its a year old" like they do with the rifts, we're not quite there yet so we'll see this October. I mean either way for me. If they keep it an "exclusive' to the event, cool. If not, at least it's a cosmetic we got for free.

  • I get that they can't come out with outfits for licensed characters whilly nilly, there's paperwork and contracts involved. But they also do make money for BHVR and the license holders. That being said, IDK why, while they're in talks, why they don't bring them a ton of concepts for outfits and get as many approved as possible.

It's just more revenue. Like for jill, she got the RE3 looks from each the original, and the remake. Why not also do the RE1 outfit? Why not classic Nemesis with the Remake version. Maybe even a Carlos lengendary. If I owned an IP and BHVR wanted to do a chapter, I'd be like "lets talk outfits... how many can we add to the game I'm tryina get PAID!" lol

  • I think the fast and loose idea is, any cosmetics from the rift will be in the store in a year. Don't think that means to the day, could be some on the 12th month, some the month after to spread it out, ect.

I'm not sure what rift they decided to start doing this, and not sure if they would automatically include all cosmetics from previous rifts, but if it hasn't been in the store in a couple years, it may never be. Shame, thats a nice shirt, and I main Ace :(

Side note, you used the word Tome, and I was saying rift. So I wasn't sure if you were just saying tome instead of rift, sometimes people use them interchangeably, or if this cosmetic wasn't actually in the rift like I assumed, and it was a cosmetic that would actually be earned in a page of tome challenges like they've been doing recently with event tomes for Halloween and stuff. If thats the case, I don't think cosmetics from such tomes will ever be in the store. I could be misinformed, but thats my understanding of event tome cosmetics limited to that tome only.

Three times out of the few matches played today I have actually lost due to one perk.

A reminder that NOED is a perk that rewards failure. The survivors did well completing the objective against impossible and unbearable odds only for someone to lose because the game gives the killer a petty kill.

    I wouldn't mind this perk if two conditions were true;

    1) The survivor objective was much easier to complete.

    2) Survivor had a similar perk.

It's not a good feeling to lose when the opponent played poorly but got rewarded for it. When the state of the game incredibly favors the killer, NOED needs a change now.

I will point out the one thing I don't agree with before I meet you on common ground.

'The survivors did well completing the objective against impossible and unbearable odds..." is a bit of a reach.

Unless you were being sarcastic for flavor, then my bad for missing that LOL. But I play both, and playing killer has its own version of "completing our objectives is impossible and unbearable" as well, just depends on how you want to slice it.

That being said, I do agree, NOED simple rewards failure in a way. I get it, its supposed to help newer players, but will just get used by lazy killers. They will literally phone it in all match.

"Do BoNez, iTs Ez" people say... and I do. I try. I solo queue a lot, its hard to do all 5 totems if you have 3 dipsh*t teammates. But yeah, do bones, I agree. Or find it when it activates, if they're going to face camp it should be no problem. All valid. I like how the prospect of the killer having NOED adds to strategy during the match.

But... I just don't like how they automatically just get NOED.

I don't want the perk gutted, and I don't HATE the nerf it got. It's fine. The route I personally would have taken though would have been to make it token-based. Make the killer get at least 3 tokens, same rules as Devour Hope, for them to be able to get NOED. This would encourage newer killers using it as a second chance perk to actually still try to get hooks and not be like "oh well, I have NOED" and would discourage in-match camping.

That being said, it got the nerf it got, I think its fine, they just could have given it a slight nerf, while at the same time, fixing the face camping that usually comes with it during regular gameplay when some killers have it (shrugs). I'm not saying token based ON TOP of the aura being seen part, that'd be too big a nerf. But... the fact that killer knows we can see its aura, means they will be discouraged from camping to maybe try and guard it, so that's something too. Or, they hook the survivor near it. If that's the case... sowwwyyy, I'm out LOL.

    Well see next week :)

They did talk about he changes a lot (I’m not disputing that) but I’m specifically talking about the reward we would get for reaching P3. Besides Mandy’s posts telling us what it wouldn’t be I don’t recall any other announcements. Even Mandy would say she couldn’t say what it would be at the time. The anniversary stream just said it would be a reward. I don’t recall any Tweets stating what it would be. The stream they had just before PTB may have mentioned it. I can’t recall now. They didn’t even show what it looked like until the PTB came out.

Like I said, it’s a minor complaint. I just still don’t understand why they were so secretive about what it would be.

The tweets and insta stories weren't straight up things like "the reward isn't or is going to be this or that" but leading to things like the streams or dev updates where they did. The second stream I know for sure is where they advertised the reward being an icon for 'bragging rights' so specifics, yeah you kind of have to dig or spend time skimming a vod.

Another reason I feel they shouldnt have been so secretive about what the reward would be. They could have tweeted "prestige 3 before the live update and get this lame character portrait animation only you can see" LOL

OK, I don't think they would have worded it quite like that but still. Even though the info for it not being a cosmetic was put out there, they were needlessly vague to get us to play more. They know we wouldn't have grinded for what we did get.

  • I didn't say I wanted a key every game. The OP did. I literally said they weren't needed. Yet you focus on me who didn't say that. You sour bro? You are LOL

Tell me, what do the top, best of the best DBD streamers you watch think about keys? relay that to me and that will be my opinion.

This is why I am talking about this anyway. The last hatch change was so much of a nerf to survivors I nearly quit the game over it. I still can't believe it was changed as much as it was. Keys are largely useless now in my opinion and bringing one is taking a big risk in whether its even going to serve any use or not. I can see bringing a key now and then and hiding it somewhere as a backup plan but survivors can't do that all the time. I've spent millions of BPs on a single survivor and I only have around 50 of each key on them.

I don't see the situation as "the killer has won." If you read my OP through you'll see that what I suggested still requires the last survivor to find both the key and the hatch for this to work out for them. All the while the killer is still there and the EGC timer is ticking down. This would not be an easy thing for survivors to do and I wouldn't even see it as something happening successfully that often. It is only just another option with a very risky chance of success for survivors to escape.

I agree, having an in-game key spawn wouldn't be a "gimme" for the survivor. I just mean, I don't think it would have a huge enough impact on the game vs how small not having an in-game key is now would even make BHVR consider it considering other things they're trying to implement.

I'm not dumping on it by any means. If they wanted to remove keys from bloodwebs and incorporate them this way, that would be something for sure as they almost serve no purpose now other than aura readings. But at this point, why have three tiers? especially when the red key has 30 base seconds (and like I said, kinda fun to use with certain addons)... but the next tier down, the purple key only has 5? It may as well be a green key... and the green key won't even open the hatch LOL.

Rework em, or get rid of the purple/green keys to make room in the bloodwebs for other (probably useless LOL) items.

“we were very clear initially that this was not going to be something cosmetic”

This is my only criticism. You were clear and did state this point a few times on this forum. Outside of that I did not see this mentioned elsewhere. So if you aren’t a forum regular you most likely wasn’t privy to this information. If it was clearly mentioned elsewhere I’ll take that back but considering I follow most media to do with this game closely and don’t recall any mention.

We should have just been told what it was from the beginning when we were told during the anniversary stream that a reward would be given.

To be fair, they did make this information available. They did two live streams talking about the changes, post about the streams on twitter and insta so you can watch live, or catch the vods later. They also post links to the written updates on their socials.

On top of that, tons of DBD content creators made videos based on both. They made recap videos discussing everything discussed after each stream BHVR does, and they literally just make videos of them reading the updates (kinda lazy content but hey, people watch, me included LOL).

So you don't have to be an avid DBD forumer (is forumer a word? LOL) but you do have to follow DBD news somewhere on some of the platforms they have accounts or you will miss stuff like this. This forum, Twitter, Instagram, Twitch, and youtube (but mostly 3rd parties make this content) are all loaded with DBD stuff.

EDIT: so I see that you said you do follow them on socials, I assumed you didn't initially when responding. But I follow them on twitter and insta and recall seeing updates for links to dev updates, and info on upcoming streams as they come. I have notifications turned on for DBD's twitter so that helps I guess, but they do put the info out there as much as possible.

  • @Mandy said:

Not a mod but I can answer this one...first of all, we do not just take feedback from the forums, we also have a lot of other platforms where we take feedback. This feedback is also discussed intently - I took part in the long meetings presenting this feedback, as that's my job.

When we go through the feedback from the PTB we're also very aware that there's a small number of people playing the actual PTB and please bare in mind that there's also no matchmaking on the PTB so all skill levels are together, which can sometimes skew peoples perceptions of things. So whilst we do clearly listen to feedback - the changes that we made from the PTB emphasises that point nicely....not all feedback can or will be implemented, as our Designers have to make the decision about what is best for the game overall.

Prestige icon feedback - we were very clear initially that this was not going to be something cosmetic, most people correctly figured out it would be something to do with the portraits based from that. The proposed portrait wasn't generally received positively so changes were made to it. We were always clear that this wasn't going to be a Legacy 2.0 outfit, nor was that ever the intention.

DS stun timer - the arguments have not been ignored, we've had some pretty lengthy discussions about them internally. This update was always going to be controversial due to the perks that we were changing, so we expected all of this. The fact that DS is used and the reasons why it was used were discussed. And we made the decision to go Live with the stun timer as it is, with the view that these things we can change in future if we find it's necessary.

We want to shake up the perks that people play with, keeping them the same strength would not accomplish that.

It's completely disingenuous to say we don't listen to feedback, when we clearly do - when we clearly have made changes based on that feedback. Of course we cannot possibly please everyone with the changes we make, as pretty much everyone has a differing of opinion. But I think we've shown time and time again that we do listen to feedback and it's not just from one place either.

I agree with all this except the portrait. People guessed it would be an ICON (which was the word that was used by BHVR) and not something done to the character portrait. It was also ASSUMED (so thats on our end but terribly communicated on BHVR's part) that it would be something that would be shown off. "Bragging right" was said a few times.

End of day, I really don't care who knows I P3'd what character and don't feel its something I'd literally brag about, but speaking for why the majority of the people are disappointed is because an icon was what people thought it was going to be. I didn't see anyone "correctly" guess it would be an effect added to character portraits that only we could see. Everyone thought it was going to be an icon displayed in lobbies. NOBODY can see our character portraits so nobody really assumed thats what the reward would involve.

People aren't disappointed because they thought it wasn't legacy 2.0. You made that very clear it wasn't going to be and people adjusted their expectations accordingly. So it not being legacy 2.0 isn't why people hated the reward, and not an acceptable scapegoat, and why most people still hated it even though it looks better.

Poor communication and execution. Thank you for giving the option to turn it off though, I'll look at them for maybe a day before the asymmetry these are going to cause starts to hurt my brain XD

Tunneling/camping IS the easiest strategy, thats why new/bad killers do it.

So... You're calling "strategy" sitting in a spot and just waiting to kill 1 out of 4 survivors? New players do it because new survivors are clueless enough to go attempt a save with the killer 3 feet away.

You give killers all the base kit rewards you want, they'll never be happy and will still tunnel/camp cuz its just easier.

Is it though? Is waiting for a guy to die through all hook phases while simply not playing the game easier to get you a win? Hell, I guess I've been playing this game wrong struggling for a 3k when I could just put a guy on hook and wait right next to him for me to win the game.

You say there's no shortage of killers whining about not getting 4K's every game while BHVR LITERALLY SAID killers have been getting way fewer kills than intended, so that probably means something right? There's also no shortage of those survivors that got off the hook 2 seconds ago, touched a generator in front of the killer, got downed and hooked again just to whine about being tunneled/camped at the endgame chat.

The same way you find toxic killers that want 4k every game you find entitled survivors with god complex that think they should escape every game.

do you not know putting quotes around strategy like "strategy" means I'm not validating it as an actual strategy right? Its a strategy, that involves very little strategy. And just because BHVR said kill rates are lower than they like doesn't mean people aren't getting easy 4K with facecamping.

Killers actually going out of their way to actually play the game are the reason for these numbers "lower than they'd like" and the issues they're facing should be addressed. But they didn't say "camping and tunneling results in fewer kills than they'd like"

And sure, I never said survivors don't have their share of crybabies. I play both sides so I always comment as someone who plays the game in general. I have a perspective for both.

  • This is one of those scenarios that really doesn't need a change at this point. It doesn't impact the game much, and at this point the killer has simply won. If you get hatch, great. You escape and a 3k is still a win for killer. But having hatch at all is just a bonus.

That being said, I wish they'd do something with keys since the big hatch nerf. I'm fine with that hatch nerf but keys basically do almost nothing useful anymore. I'd like it if they got rid of all keys and just keep the iridescent ones. Those are the only ones that bring you any real value aside from unlocking the hatch which doesn't happen often enough to justify bringing one. I'll bring one in with that stone that reads killer aura, and the beads to add time to it for fun sometimes, but thats the only time I feel like bringing in a key is worth it.

Get rid of all the other keys, or make keys do something else (what that would be IDK).

  • Trickster kinda BLOWS CHUNKS as is IMO. I don't think he needs a buff. And if they did nerf his knife count, he'd have to get a huge buff elsewhere as he's already weak as is.

  • Flashlights are weak and easily countable in most cases, and I'm not saying use lightborn. Not all situations, sometimes you're going to lose a hook because of one, thems the ropes :)

While they suck in the hands of a skilled bully SWF, they actually can be a huge time waster for survivors. Sometimes survivors throw the game and ignore objectives trying to be ready for a save. Sometimes I find flashlights just as annoying when I play survivor as I do killer seeing how my teammates throw a game for the sake of getting that "sick content' LOL.

"Camping/tunneling are the lowest common denominator of "strategies"

So why do survivors do it? Why do they camp generators and tunnel them out of the game? Oh right - they do it the same reason killers do. Removing a survivor/generator is a discreet part of your objective that cannot be undone. One real quick way to make killers not camp is to allow them to regress completed generators.

You literally have no idea what you are talking about as the very best DBD streamers slug/tunnel and camp to secure kills to clinch a game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/334072/if-you-want-camping-to-stop-then-killers-need-basekit-rewards

You're incredibly brave for saying this. You're right by the way - killers need base kit rewards for hooking. You know what's funny? You dont get we're gonna live forever, or borrowed time if you slug. Since Pop and Scourge hook pain res are dead - the next patch might go back to a slug meta.

I still say killers should get something like this for basekit : if you are 16m away from a hooked survivor then the generator with the most progress remains blocked to survivors until that survivor dies or is rescued as long as you are 16m away from the hook.

Well if streamers do it, it must be the way to do it right? Also, tunneling/camping IS the easiest strategy, thats why new/bad killers do it. So what if "pros" on stream do it too? They don't just do it at 5 gens. I never said there isn't a time for it. Gens are flying by and you have to put some pressure, tunnel someone out. EGC, camping is the smart play. But the "pros' don't just do it at 5 gens. If the streamers you watch just camp/tunnel right out of the gate, and you're considering them the best DBD streamers then that tells me you simply camp/tunnel as your go-to and don't watch streamers who can actually play the game very well.

And regressing finished gens? So survivors can get back hook states too then or? Nah LOL You just want easy 4Ks, there is no shortage of killers like that. A gen is done, its done. A survivor is dead, they're dead.

I've never been like 'well they successfully finished that gen but it's bull I can't kick it and make it regress."

Also "camping" generators is simply DOING generators. Maybe its both of us don't know what we're talking about though XD

You give killers all the base kit rewards you want, they'll never be happy and will still tunnel/camp cuz its just easier. Same for survivors. They cry about the game being unfair just as much. You can give them all the base kit BT or whatever else. They will still call anything and everything tunneling.

Tell you what, I'll write BHVR an email, and ask them if they can make the game 4 v 2, that way killers can double up making the game twice as easy. Maybe that will be a big enough "reward" for killers to not ever camp/tunnel?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/334231/perk-points-still-count-right

if you have any character at p1 right now, you would be at least p3 after the update and the perk points would count still. So, you would be at p4 yes.

Thank you! That's what I figured, but knowing the perk points still count help me make a few decisions XD.

  • Camping/tunneling are the lowest common denominator of "strategies" ... and unless the game puts in measures that simply make it not worth it, killers who do those things now, will continue to do so regardless of how the game is made easier. Period.

Give them basekit rewards, they will continue to do so. And... once these rewards are no longer new, they will take getting them for granted, and just find other reasons as to why "this is why killers camp/tunnel" and do just that.

Its people wanting easy kills for the most part, not wanting to learn to loop. Sure, some maps are just ass for some killers being way too big. But tunneling/camping at its core is just people wanting to play the game on easy when looping is too hard. Or they dedicated way too much time on their first chase because their ego made them just HAVE to catch that survivor, and when they did 2-3 were "genrushed" (killers fault when that happens) and now they feel behind. Or they just want to be toxic but I mean... what can you do XD

    PS, yes I play killer.

  • They are in general perks for people who don't have the DLC, but if you do its still listed at their perks, and also has the original picture on the perks. So I'd hope that if you have the DLC then the perks work for them as it would anybody as it still says "steve harrington perk" or whoever. It should at least. I'm already 50/50 as far as expectations so I won't be super bummed if it doesn't count.

Honestly, BHVR would have to specifically say, and not sure if they did mention it anywhere, so its just guesswork otherwise.

  • @Advorsus said:

    Meh lol

I think they're fine. The fact that they're giving any rewards actually says a lot, as a lot of games just don't.

There's tons of games, most in fact, where they'll make big changes like that and the only thing they give you is maybe a free character Respec, which is more annoying than helpful most times.

Not only are they creating free stuff, they're doing exactly what they said they would. It would be a personal reward for prestiging prior to the update, and would not be a skin or shards or anything like that. They stated that when they announced it lol

Heck most games you'd be lucky to get anything for playing thousands of hours.

Even stuff like call of duty. You play for thousands of hours and prestige multiple times and get what? A tiny little icon next to your name.

I think people should stop being greedy and just be appreciative that they're getting anything at all, when they aren't required to do any of it.

Thats the thing, a little icon next to someone's name like you mentioned they do in COD is LITERALLY what most people would prefer. In no way did they say "it would be something only you could see." They mentioned bragging rights and all that. Between a personal reward only I can see vs nothing, I would have chosen nothing. With this I'm just going to turn/keep it off, having an inconsistent character menu is just going to look bad, but at least I'm the only one who can see it I guess LOL. An endgame icon would have been SO easy.

The scratchmarks look better, I'll say that, but it wasn't so much how ugly it looked before, its that only you can see it.

  • @itsHammyyy said:

honestly even an icon during the endgame screen would be better. at least other people can see that.

Same. Its great that they acknowledged the peepee glitter was lazy and F* ugly, but the biggest thing people were complaining about was this. They said "bragging rights" IDK how many times, and kept referring to an "icon" but nobody can see it. What we got is technically an icon I guess. IDK why, if they're going to take feedback, ignore the biggest thing.

End of day, I couldn't care less who knows I prestiged what character before the update, but a reward only you can see, that you will likely turn off bc it makes your character menu inconsistent is just a stupid idea. Its their mindset about this whole thing that I can't wrap my head around. Thats why I would have preferred an endgame logo (or nothing at all honestly as I'll just be turning this feature off bc its pointless really).

With the number of people who are completionists, having something like this is going to drive them crazy, even if they prestiged everyone to 3 because future characters won't have it.

They listen but will also just make a tweak to what they already did instead of make a real change so not to be "wrong"

  • @TheKissKing said:

gate rollback would be an interesting perk, i doubt it should be basekit tho

I see someone calling for a gate rollback once a week it seems. Mandy even chimed in once saying they tried it before and it doesn't work, so its not going to happen. They could always change their mind but we'll see it in a couple years minimum IF at all. I've always thought if killers want a regression, they should be able to have it if it gives them a prompt to regress it like with kicking gens, or if there was a perk that did it automatically.

But it should cost them the time to either go to the gate and do it or a perk slot. 99ing the gate only encourages survivors to go back into the map to go for unhooks, heals, or whatever. IDK why killer mains think its this huge survivor advantage. Its not something that will instantly increase their kill rates though.

Killers can also open the gate to create pressure if they want to. But they actually have to down somebody first, but thats kind of the killers objective anyway.
