They are bothered because 5 gens done = win. The killer's main goal is to keep survivors from escaping the trail, not protecting 5 gens from getting done. If 5 gens = win, then there would be 0 end game. The match would end and load everyone out.
No one thinks that 5 gens = win... If they did. Then no one would care about escaping through hatch. They'd consider it a loss based on your logic.

Give them a totem counter and they will still complain just as much.
Now it just sounds more like you're unwilling to compromise. Complaining as much as you say survivors do.

Statement is true. Doesn't mean survivors are correct.
I think more so that most survivors are bothered by NOED due to feeling cheated since they have no way of knowing how many totems are left. And because it seems like the killer is rewarded with a 1-shot perk for failing to protect the generators. Much like how most killer mains feel DS just rewards survivors for failing a chase.
-
@Mr_K said:
It's only controversial because survivors think they won when the last gen pops.
That's hardly true.
Especially with perks like Blood Warden, Remember Me, Rancor, and now No Way Out. Endgame hardly means the end of the game. There's still lots of time to die.

I just need to know... Does it counter dream pallets and illusionary pallets?

considering how fast totems get removed within 1 minute of the game that's a bad idea to have it based on the amount of totems left.
This is coming from the guy who thinks that he didn't tunnel someone who was being healed right after being unhooked...
Besides... Totems are not removed as fast as people think.
However, totems should NEVER be spawning next to gens or survivor spawn locations.
-
@Lord_Tony said:
I got DS'd while the guy was getting healed. That's bullshit why did it still activate?
Sounds like you rushed back to the hook to down the guy who was just unhooked immediately... That's all I noticed.
-
Go look at totem spawns in maps like Lery's, Hawkins, Midwich, and Dead Dawg.
Now, remember that survivors don't have a totem counter.
Now, re-evaluate your thought process.
As someone else said above, it would be a very good change to make NOED's power based on how man totems are left in the match.
-
I only hate Claudettes... BLENDettes to be exact. No one else is THAT invisible. Not even Wraith.

bro it's called discord, that's your 5th ######### perk.
The ######### entitlement.
Discord literally eliminates the need for MOST survivor based aura perks and counters several killer perks like knockout AND ######### over stealth killers like ghostface.
How does Discord help me communicate with randoms?

Add a 5th perk slot for survivors as well as killers and you'll gain more support on this idea

Sprint burst is fine unless I'm playing a stealth killer.

So... you don't like the change?
Would you prefer his older version?
Yes. Very much so.
-
@Kolossoni said:
I heard his invisibility is now completely unseeable and he moves faster or smth.
That's good compensation don't you think?
Not at all. His cloak speed was fine before. I could pressure gens with ease.
Now, when I uncloak, they're already halfway across the map. Even more so if they have sprint burst.
-
@indieeden7 said:
Don't you move at like 150% movement speed? That's more than enough speed to make up for slower uncloak speed.
Not when uncloaked you don't.
You lose so much distance now when he uncloaks that it's just not worth it.
-
@CheesyGuy said:
I think he is better now. He can patrol gens faster and I dont find the uncloaking time that slow. I understand that you get used to his old style and that is why the new one you suffer some problems but it is my opinion that after some time you will even like him more than the previous version. I finally even get my adept Wraith thx to his new buff and I am rank 5 killer so imagine the survivors that I faced. Just new is hard and you are just struggle because it is not what you get used to but once you get to use it you will see that Wraith is now even more dangerous and more playebla.
He lost the ONE thing that was useful to him. He was already good at patrolling gens.
-
@_HN_ said:
Wait what I thought he got a buff here not a nerf?
Windstorm is basekit... at the cost of the main thing that made him good. His ability to get a jump on survivors which is now gone.

It's very hard for me to give any serious consideration to their topics/claims after that interaction.

You want to be able to decide for the killer who and how they fulfill their objectives. That's just not going to happen. It doesn't exist in any other multiplayer game, why would it here?
I want to be able to play the game. Not sit on a hook or sit on the ground. It's abundantly clear that you don't play both sides.
-
@_HN_ said:
"Let's get this out of the way first... DS does NOT prevent tunneling. If the killer is going to tunnel you, they'll do it even after you use DS on them. It just prolongs it by 5 seconds."
And I stopped reading right there. Very first sentence. GJ.
DS stuns the killer for 5 full seconds, this means the survivor will have 5 seconds to run.
A survivor run at 4 m/s, a standard killer run at 1.15 this speed so 4.6 m/s.
This means that to cover the 4x5 m the survivor gained during that stun he will have to travel for 20/0.6 seconds ie 33 seconds. So a DS will wast AT LEAST 38 seconds for the killer.
And that's best case scenario, on an open field without any windows of pallets that would give more time for the survivor.
Anyone knows that if a survivor manage to DS you when a gate is open, EVEN if you are on the other side of the map, said survivor will have more than enough time to get out, especially if there's someone to do a lil bit of body-block.
So yeah. No, you are clearly clueless about what DS even does when it comes to time.
Of course you stopped reading right there. You're part of the problem.

I mean, it literally means you lost a chase. I don't know why you want to pretend otherwise, but it's not like the killer can just snap his fingers and you appear on his shoulder, he still needs to catch you and knock you down.
What chase? I had no ability to start running earlier or do anything to extend that chase because I was... you know... ON A HOOK

If you don't want to make noise while injured or scream then Jake has two perks for that. True there's nothing you can do about the coughing and vomiting from Plague but cleanse.
But it seems like you're looking for a solution that makes you invincible from the killer until he hits or chases someone else for x amount of time and that doesn't seem realistic. Sure, people are going to tunnel even after a DS and sometimes using DS on killers annoys them so much that they come after you again *just because* you used DS in the first place.
But that's just people. You can't create mechanics that account for all people in all situations.
I do think a good solution to camping though would be a stacking debuff that gets applied to the Killer if they remain within x meters of a hooked survivor while not being in a chase. The longer they stay near the hook, the slower their movement speed for a time.
I only agree with your anti-camping idea because I've been saying that for years.
But you're suggesting perks from Jake to avoid being tunneled... You shouldn't need perks to avoid being tunneled.
I'm not looking for invincibility. I want the killer to be actively seeking out other people. Spread the pain. Don't focus on only one person.

Interesting. I am also wondering if tunnelling could also be tied to the pip system.... based on your psychological theory.
When/if rank is eliminated and there is no visual conformation of a good match, will the tunnelling become less prevalent?
Exactly. Rank will soon be nothing but a BP bonus in the future once the new matchmaking officially goes live. I personally have never cared about rank. I play for fun and points. But a lot of people still care about rank for some reason. It will be very interesting when the changes go live.

It gives you a second chance to get away and get to a loop or hide. It's not supposed to make you permanently invincible.
Loops are not safe, and this game has killed stealth over the years of so many aura perks and the existence of the Doctor and Plague.
If the killer wants to tunnel you, there isn't anything stopping them.
-
@Pulsar said:
Idk why people aren't running DS. It's almost like people only abused it or something.
it's core functionality of discouraging tunneling is still intact.
The issue is that people heard, "DS nerf" and decided the perk was dead.
People aren't running it because it NEVER helped against tunneling. And now, killer mains see "DS nerf = I can tunnel". At least before the nerf, they had the fear of DS keeping most killers from tunneling.
-
Uh oh, you upset the hive mind...
-
@Callmehandsome said:
If you are still getting hard tunneled you can use DS. Nothing has changed, just the fact that you cannot use DS OFFENSIVELY. It just proves DS was never anti-tunnel to begin with and now when it is.. people complain
You use DS after getting tunneled, get off their shoulder, then they KEEP tunneling. Thanks DS!

Not that I ever really used DS much because it's just a bad perk. I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about. I mean it rewards failure. Survivors who used it at a crutch have been done a HUGE favour with this nerf.
Now they can move past the DS dependency freeing up that perk slot for far better, stronger builds requiring a much higher skill ceiling than hitting a medium skill check after having failed to evade the Killer.
Yep. Because when I get knocked back down within 3 seconds of getting off the hook, that's MY failure. Yep. ALL mine.

Could say the same about survivors second chance perks. You shouldn't NEED to win the game multiple times as killer because survivors have literal get out of jail free cards.
Let's not go down that road.
You say as you go down that road...

No one said that, but it's pretty clear you're being facetious in a vain attempt to validate:
"If I see someone being camped or tunneled or slugged, I know they didn't lose. They're being punished for existing. And if someone feels the need to punish you for existing, that means you won."
Sorry that you have trouble accepting a loss in a video game.
According to you, I just make all these things up in my mind.
Considering that I'm not the only one dealing with these things, that must mean my thoughts become reality. I fancy your logic there.

I use a macro to auto spam the button when I'm in hook struggle. And I'll keep using it until the devs do something about that awful mechanic.
I see no problem with what you're doing.

It's a game designed around slashers murdering, relentlessly, helpless teenagers. With the help of a supernatural entity. Players play the game, and follow the rules set by the developers. Survivor gets mad and wants to break things.
You're right - it is the people. They take it way too seriously.
Yes. People ruin the experience.

That's part of the game - It's literally the game's 'losing' state.
You're describing something that can occur every game. Regardless of your personal feelings towards these things, they are both literally the 'losing' states of the game, with defeat occurring at death.
You ready up every game knowing this - If you really hate these things, which are a permanent part of core gameplay, the solution is pretty obvious.
No one is going to redesign the game because you can't handle losing (fairly, I may add, unless they are breaking the ToS somehow) and didn't get the opportunity to recover from this position.
If I see someone being camped or tunneled or slugged, I know they didn't lose. They're being punished for existing. And if someone feels the need to punish you for existing, that means you won.
