Literally no perk balance updates or anything interesting this mid chapter. Nothing and we won't get any balance updates till the next mid chapter?

This ain't funny. Don't tell me you need the same devs to work on the crappy Mori system as the ones who can buff garbage perks like current DS and Smash Hit/Oppression.

This game is in such sad state right now,I swear..

It's not like this is a surprise. The only thing different from the PTB (excluding the Finishing Mori and basekit Unbreakable the devs were clear wouldn't be here) is the Hag having new music, and I honestly wonder if it was there and no one noticed because they never played Hag.

  • Would this be a good or bad time to finally get around to this Hag dailies I've been putting off?

  • @foodie said:

There are a few reasons why Haggie is not played much.

She requires skill. You need to know how to play her effectively, and most dislike her because she is not easy to play as and most players have faced hags that just don't know how to play her.

The community in general thinks that hag players put 10 traps at hooks and camp or tunnel or both. The reality is, hag mains either don't trap hooks at all or place no more than 1 trap. And most hag mains don't camp nor tunnel. They leave the hooked area entirely. The mistake comes when one steps on a trap, and the logical thing is that hag will teleport. Just like Trapper would go to a survivor in a bear trap.

It's a misconception and no matter how much hag mains try to defend and explain how they play and how it is not "campy", the advocate hag haters never listen or even try to comprehend what is being said to them.

Most importantly, every time someone tries to defend hag, it ends up with an argument with someone who in fact doesn't play her.

To me, there is an irrational, illogical hate towards this killer which is why she is not played

Ah, and also, when playing vs hag, you need to play differently and a lot of survivors don't like adapting their gameplay to benefit them when facing certain killers.

I've occasionally put a bunch of traps together for fun. It's funny to trap the hell out of Killer Shack, carry a survivor there, then let them wiggle out and trigger them all.

But yeah, I'm only an occasional Hag player but you one need a single trap, two tops, at any given spot.

It would be considerably less scary to see oni in a 3 piece suit or plague wearing a modern dress. Their period is kinda intrinsic with their look. Although admittedly twins with a leather jacket and jeans would be pretty cool.

What about Plague in a 3-piece dress suit?

  • Or, if not remove them, nerf them. Make them more like the older brown or yellow offerings where it doesn't guarantee a particular map.

  • An idea I'd had was give it a Bitter Murmur effect. Rather than block around the generator, block around the individual Survivors.

This might need a reduced area of effect to keep from being broken but having it trigger mid-chase could be devastating, and it could serve as an info perk if you watch what's been blocked.

I saw a Meg at 100 prestige and all I could think was 'God damn she went through 5,000 Bloodwebs holy crap that's patience.

I'm almost at the point of just paying my room mate $10 to spend my blood points for me while I do literally anything else in the world. I keep hitting cap and just playing through it anyways because that's the least fun thing in the world. I've even tried asking friends to get on Parsec and spend them for me because they keep watching my stream and commenting 'You should spend blood points between games so you don't lose them.'

    Like please make it stop.

5,000 Bloodwebs minimum. Who knows where that Meg was before 6.1. Though if they were far enough to be P9 that would cut down some.

I don't want any survivors to mend when I play killer, whether i'm tunneling or not. Just like survivors don't want me kicking and regressing their gens.

i just played against a ttv streamer playing nurse, it was an open map with shack and basemet on the center, i dont kniw the name but a small map, he started chasing a kate, got 1 hook on her, and wheneve lwe saved her he proceeded to only focus her, even with 5 gens up, he killed her and started to tunnel me, hit me as soon as i was saved from hook, and didnt down me because i had basekit BT..

what do you all think about tunneling ? have you been tunneled before ?

Tunneling like you've described is the one thing I loathe running into as Survivor and one thing I actively try to avoid doing when I play killer. I'm not above hitting off-hook given the opportunity since it delays their re-entry into the game by however long it takes them to mend (and possibly for my ahead pop kill as Pig) but I won't go out of my way for it.

  • I forgot one build suggestion, saw this while watching a streamer, gh005tie, last night.

    Built to Last

    Distortion

    Open Handed

    Streetwise

Item: Skeleton (pink) Key w/ Blood Amber (see Killer aura) and Scratched Pearl (increase Key aura range)

Basically give yourself the ability to see any non-stealth Killer within a 60 meter radius (Blood Amber [32] + Scratched Pearl [12] + Open Handed [16]), Streetwise and Built to Last give you more use of the key during the match, while Distortion protections you from the Killer's own aura reading. If you're the last one standing, you can let the Killer close hatch, use the key to see where they, and by extension the Hatch, were, then re-open it yourself once the Killer leaves looking for you.

  • I have a healing build I like: Empathic Connection, Empathy, Renewal, and a flex perk (Usually Autodidact)

    Lately I've been using:

    Kindred, Distortion, Lightweight, Inner Healing

This one had a killer remark that thought I had Lucky Break. It was a farm map, though, for what that's worth, other killers have said it didn't interfere with them much at all. I have had moments where it seemed a Killer lost me though.

  • @6659Leg said:

Ik of legions with Susie's mixtape and the undetectable status effect but I'm curious about what others there are.

A recent video offers a good one: Hex: The Third Seal doesn't require damaging Survivors, just hitting them. Two Killers that directly benefit from this are Trickster and Nemesis. Their knives and tentacle proc Third Seal even if they don't damage the Survivor.

Yeah, it's a really nice perk for Nemesis.

For reference, here's a full list of things that attract zombies (from the DBD Wiki page on Zombies):

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FPVIZ5B5TLGT/image.png

I thought Spies From The Shadows didn't attract zombies. I swear I saw that specifically mentioned at some point.

  • Is the game still free on Epic Games? I thought that was just for the first two weeks. Granted, that's enough time for very determined cheaters to stock up on accounts, but still...

    What about you?

I feel exactly the opposite. Our bloodpoints are worth more because, WGLF, BBQ and Chili, and Matchmaking Incentives notwithstanding, we're making the same amount of Bloodpoints we were before but now can buy more with them than we could previously.

Here's a suggestion I made for changing Insidious back in 2021:

    Insidious:

Overhaul the perk to - Reduces your Terror Radius and Red Stains Brightness by 5% for every 4/3/2 seconds you refrain from chasing or injuring survivors, upon reaching 100% reduction, you gain the Undetectable Status. Initiating a chase or injuring a survivor regains your TR and Red stain at a rate of 20% per second (5 seconds), once your Terror Radius has returned to normal, Insidious has a 40 second cooldown.

Explanation - This perk has been a bane on the game since it came out since it seems to have been specifically designed for the sole purpose of camping hooks. With this change however, a killer loses half their TR for spending 10 seconds away from a chase or injuring a survivor, and becomes Undetectable at 20 seconds. This is mostly meant for anti-stealth play, or for gaining a slight advantage in the early game wherein the killer is initially searching the map for survivors. Ultimately, it changes the perk from one encouraging camping, to one that rewards the killer with an advantage if the survivors are being too sneaky/evasive, and allows them to get the drop on survivors more often. The cooldown is necessary for this one because otherwise it would be heavily abuseable.

As for the survivors going up against this updated version, Premonition or Spine Chill still proc on stealth killers, so relying solely on the TR reduction is still no guarantee against those kinds of perks, and gives the survivors an advantage. Up until then, unless the killer has spent 20 seconds avoiding survivors, Aura reading perks like OoO, Alert, and Kindred still have an advantage for tracking the killer.

I like the premise of this idea.

My own thought was give Insidious a touch of Dark Devotion: Activating it makes you "drop" your Terror Radius wherever you were standing. You become Undetectable while in the area covered by your TR and for x/y/z seconds after leaving it.

  • @6659Leg said:

Ik of legions with Susie's mixtape and the undetectable status effect but I'm curious about what others there are.

Plague with Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain comes to mind. It ties in nicely to the catch-22 of her basekit. Survivors opt to heal, they get the Gift of Slowdown. If they don't, they remain more easily downable.

The Artist can also make particularly good use of the Ruin/Surveillance combo. Send out some birds and, even if Survivors dodge if they had to release a gen to do it you'll know.

    !title

If u would buff Grim Embrace, so that its worth using, it could be a way to clean up a lot of tunneling in the game.

But: At the moment u reward 40secs Gen-Blocks after hooking every survivor once. As we all know, thats just 10sec more than Deadlock, which u get for free 4 times per game at max., old Dead Mans Switch had 45secs.

To benefit the killer for switching targets, you should increase the number significally OR lower down to condition (2 survs = 30 sec all blocked, 4 survs = another 30sec all blocked for example).

My own thought was a ramp up effect. Each new hook is a slightly longer block until getting the full 4-man.

  • @Dead_Harder said:

Do you hook all 4 and get it over with or do you let them reset?

Feels like a lose lose situation imo. When i hook all 4 i feel bad and when i let survivors reset it usually turns into a farming game and i really dont like those.

I let them reset. I play for points so short games don't work for my interests at all.

she is 24m TR killer. -16 by new furtive chase and -8 by M&A means she does not give u any TR ever... Not just sometimes

Current Furtive Chase only applies while in chase, at which time Monitor and Abuse increases your terror radius.

For clarity, in case I missed it, does your suggestion for Furtive Chase also apply to out of chase?

My own thought was maybe have Furtive Chase gradually suppress the chase music as well as the in-chase TR. FC seems designed as a perk meant to give you more value in chase than out, so having it lower your TR out of chase works against its purpose.

It's normal to switch back yeah,

But they made it recently so you can't block the pallet after a while as Charlotte

To be more specific, if you're referring to what I think you are, leave Charlotte inactive for too long and she loses collision, so you can go through her.

  • Works pretty reliably for me. Lining up by the head is a way to get Ghost Face as central on your screen as possible.

  • For me it would be:

Pig - Ruleset Number 2 (Survivors can't see Jigsaw Boxes until their traps becomes active). I like to mix this with the Face Mask addon (Survivors with traps are Blinded) and Hex: Plaything.

It creates a nasty little combo that, in the couple games I've used the combo on, resulted in getting a kill by head pop.

Wraith - "The Ghost" - Soot (retain Undetectable for 6 seconds after Uncloaking). Can combine this with the Bone Clapper (Survivors can't determine direction of bell) or Coxcombed Clapper (Silent Bell) or, if you're feeling meme-y, "The Beast" - Soot (Terror Radius not suppressed while cloaked) for some Reverse Wraith action.

  • Random thought: on top of the existing effect, for each token the Killer's chase music volume is lowered or suppressed entirely. Sows confusion by potentially tricking survivors into think the Killer has left them and Bam, he has not.

Oh this combo is so fun ! Does it not work anymore on any device ? It's shame !

Repressed and the gen trap perks work off the same button so you'd activate when simultaneously. Works great with Wiretap, less so for Blast Mine.

That said, you can't use Repressed if you're on the gen with someone else, I've noticed.

  • @yauniqua said:

Why doesnt Jill's Blastmine disable Pop goes the Weasle?

At this point, it's only a meme perk meant to humiliate/annoy the Killer. There's no real benefit.

I think it's because Blast Mine stops the kick from completing, which would cancel Pop since it's been used.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

so why the hell doesn't it work against endurance perks, it makes no sense

what's the point of a myers going all out to get a tier 3 just for it to get countered by one effect or any killer really

i dunno maybe im overthinking this

and yes i know its 61% kill rate this is just an odd thing i thought about no need to go all entitled hardcore survivor on me

Attacking a Survivor that's Exposed is only one attack, but it's an attack that does 2 health states' worth of damage, so it can put a Survivor into Dying State unless something, such as Endurance, prevents it.

Put another way, an attack on an exposed survivor does 2 HP of damage instead of 1, but Endurance perks prevent a Survivor from reaching 0 HP.

  • @6659Leg said:

I do legion with dark devotion.

Dark devotion is incredibly strong with Susie's and mischief list. Susie's basically overrides the undetectable status messing with the killer instinct. You'll instead have a 20m Killer instinct range and you won't be detected and the survivor won't even know you're coming.

As a small aside, I just tried this and ( 1 ) I'm 2 for 2 on getting the Game when trying unconventional stealth builds, and (2) worked great with a 3k + hatch. Combined with Tinkerer, Discordance, Deadlock, and the Etched Ruler (Feral Slash inflicts Oblivious for 60 seconds).

Edit: Did some checking and it looks like Susie's offsets Undetectable but does not offset Oblivious. So you don't actually want to use Obliviousness in this build.

  • If you were to unlock Artist right now, you would have Pinhead's perks at Tier 1 on her to begin with, and Tiers 2 and 3 would appear in the Bloodweb as normal.

    @Jarky said:

If you unlock them at P1/P2/P3, they are automatically unlocked on the other killers at that respective tier, so they'll already be available at Tier 3 on the Artist without having to find it on her bloodweb.

As an example, I had every killer at P3+ when Wesker came out - I only had to unlock the universal/general perks and his own perks to T3 on the bloodweb. All the other killers teachables (minus Demo's, because they now count as general/universal perks) were already ready to use at T3 when he was released.

A small note but if you had Demo's perks unlocked as teachables prior to the loss of Stranger Things, it looks like you get them in Tier 1 on any Killers that didn't have them already. My Wesker started with Tier 1 Jolt, Claustrophobia, and Fearmonger.

Haven't worked it out fully, though. And the teleport sound itself can be a warning to attentive survivors.

please tell me ur definition of FUN, its getting gen rushed?

staying stuck in one build to have a chance?

getting tunneled out of the game at 4 gens

getting so much hate and vile words because u won?

you know, loading into a game getting either a SWF and getting stressed or just cheaters is very fun according to NOBODY

this game ISN"T FUN, it was fun before this game is a ranked mess with people that are as 1 dimensional as a brick wall, with some few individuals sometimes making it a bit fun for either side

and you know everyone here complaining shows a lot of people have fun aren't they?

Speaking purely for myself, fun is "am I enjoying my time as I play this game?" Is the answer is "yes", I'm having fun. If the answer is "no", then I'm not and it's time to find something that is fun.

I've had plenty of fun in DBD games. Even when I lose I can laugh it off or think about why I lost. Or maybe I lost in a funny way. The stuff your described isn't enjoyable and, when it happens a lot in one session, I turn off the game for a while.

I manage to avoid the worst of burnout by playing when I'm in the mood. Sometimes that's just a couple games, sometimes it's several. Last rift I got it up to 70 because there were rewards in it I wanted. This last rift? I've barely touched it and didn't stress it.

I have fun wit this game largely by playing it when I feel like, and not playing it when I don't.

To go back to your original question: the point of playing the game, or any game is to have fun however you might define it.

If you haven't had proper fun in 3-odd years? Then you have to ask yourself "why are you playing?" What are you getting from Dead by Daylight, for all its aggravations, that you can't get by playing, say, Among Us?

There are 2 ways to play clown

Go spray and pray like most people do and just throw bottle everywhere in hopes to get a hit eventually and yes playing like that is pretty boring

But then there are clowns that really try to understand their power and are able to shut down loops with a single well placed bottle

or throw bottles to the the survivor is heading instead of where they are cause they predict that the survivor is going to predrop and run

Or know where to hit a high place so their one bottle covers a much larger area

There is a surprisingly high skill ceiling to the clown that most people don't explore cause the payoff just isn't there.

There's also learning to make good use of the yellow bottles as well at the pink.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

you know reaching Rank 1 or Iridescent was the main objective of the game, but now that it doesn't matter, what are we exactly playing for?

certainly not blood points or shards

i would say fun, but let's be honest the last time i had proper fun in this game was in 2019

so what's the point for either side ?

i know some of you will tell me survive and kill but every game has a end goal and for dbd it got removed with the worst addition to ever get released SBMMR

i would say the Totem challenges and levels but tbh they don't even feel rewarding ,some few miscs and lore pages that will probably hear once and forget about them, tbh i would be a bit nice to like offer 100 auric cells after reaching level 100, which is you know kinda of impossible tbh, like i grinding the hell out of the saw totem and barely managed to reach 80

but you know at least we can look forward to something i guess?

if u are gonna tell me just stop playing the game, just save it, if everyone took that opinion to heart, nobody would be complaining or playing k?

The point of any game is to have fun. You can say "just save it" all you want but if you aren't having fun playing the game then why shouldn't you move on to something else?

  • Maybe flip the effect a little.

Rather than show the Killer's aura within range of the hook, show the auras of any survivors within range of the hook.

From there, keep Kindred as-is, showing all survivors map wide and the Killer if they stay close.

  • I thought there were several times Lynxi could have just gotten the hook, albeit at the cost of one or both of the other slugs getting up.

I honestly think she got too caught up in the possibility they could today she ended up tunnel visioning herself and ignoring the hooks she could have gotten.

  • Question: What perks other than Discordance has notifications that attracts Zombies?

Title. Or at LEAST one or two perks to mess with the survivors heads using TR altering perks. Nothing scares me more than a Killer that can really utilize perks that throw off the TR. It's one of my favorite things to do as Killer, especially when I can use it in chase to cut off where I correctly predict a survivor to be going by waiting in the doorway and jump-scaring them. That stuff startles me like nothing else in this game can, and I wish I got to experience it more from the other end (survivor).

    What do you all think?

Do you often play this style as Killer?

Do you wish more Killers used this?

  • I think it's a case of "yes and no".

You are not a team in the sense that every survivor is ultimately seeking their own escape. You are a team in the sense that one of the ways to achieve that escape is by being a team player.

As Dwight himself says in the Bond flavor text "I need you to survive so that I can survive!"
