If killer gets to bloodlust 3, not only he lost that chase, but also lost the match.

100% but it still feels incredibly bad dying to it kinda like old spirit stand still mind game or something along those lines

Survivors are able to round corners faster than killers. Thats what they mean by the hitbox.

the killer is faster anyway and if a survivor is actually good at hugging loops to make more distance then let them be its a skill that is learnt over time and small things like that should be left alone to make sure people feel like they are actually progressing and becoming better at the game. The same goes for killer hugging loops is a skill that is learnt and is the reason for MANY of my downs and it feels satisfying to have run the loop better then the opposite side

Killers can get stuck on things Survivors can't.

As for Bloodlust, I wasn't around when it was off, but given how absurd some chases on The Game and its "what is line of sight" can get at the end of a match when there's no pallets left and the hatch is closed... it really, really needs to stay in. And maybe not be so damn picky about staring at someone's butt when you've filled the world with clutter.

the only things in the entire game i can think of that ever affect chase in the slightest with killer and surv hitbox differences is that one little part near the crashed helicopter on rpd which just literally get rid of rpd already lol and the fun bus on autohaven on the side where the hole is really closed in for some reason and that should be changed anyway because it stops blight rushes demo shred and chainsaws aswell as making the killers and even survs sometimes do this weird jump thing where you just lose a bunch of distance. As for the game map just rework it bloodlust isnt gonna save you on that horrific map

  • @Tsulan said:

We can remove bloodlust entirely as soon as survivors have the same hitbox as killers.

what does that even mean lol? why would a 9 foot tall killer ever have the same hit box as a survivor? and why does their hitbox mean anything?

  • @Adjatha said:

Bloodlust should be buffed, if anything. Between poor maps, perk power creep, and continual killer nerfs, the game has all but lost its back and forth at mid to high level play. Survivors should not be able to run killers for 3-5 gens every game.

you only get run for 3-5 gens if you are bad at the game....?

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2783104#Comment_2783104

Yes that's my point. Maps need addressed long before blood lust does. It equally does not feel good having loops ran on you that you can do nothing about...Add in stretched res to boot

i mean they're never gonna do anything about stretch res and quite honestly apart from the way it interacts with ghosties power its not as big of a deal as some people make it out to be

  • @GeneralV said:

    I don't even remember it.

thats how insignificant bloodlust is to decent killers lmao

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2783075#Comment_2783075

And you feel.... This feels more bad. Then having broken loops ran on you as killer ?

yes tbh but dont get me wrong im not saying broken loops are good and really i dont think bloodlust should go till they do also

  • @Ryuhi said:

if a killer gets to bloodlust 3, you already won the chase. why complain when you gained absurd pressure away from the killer? its fine just the way it is tbh.

its just boring kinda like versing a trickster or old legion doesnt matter whether they take a billion years to do it theyre still gonna down you and my biggest problem with bloodlust is there shouldn't be situations where killers need it and by that i mean no loop should be so strong where an actually good killer needs bl to win if a killer is to bad to catch someone at a normal loop and they have to bloodlust it they should just literally not be able to catch them and they should try and actually improve

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/308157/did-anyone-actually-have-a-hard-time-during-the-no-bloodlust-weekend

    It helps quite a lot.

For example: DDS has a very strong loop that is accessible from anywhere on the map. Sometimes getting BL is the difference between getting a down you can convert into some free pressure, and failing miserably.

'Just don't chase there' is a huge trap for new players, because if there's a central strong loop - that's exactly where survivors will head every chase. See: Badham House of Pain, Swamp infinites etc.

yeah i dont disagree that there are busted loops that need to be culled before bloodlust actually does go but it still just feels so bad going against someone that bloodlust 3's every loop even if its not efficient and loses them the game its just uninteractive

For those of you who opted out of cross-play, how would you rate your experience? Do you feel like your matches are better? (PC players who do not want console teammates, and console players who are fed up with the cheaters- especially the subtle speed hackers).

Yeah the toxic players way outnumber the non-toxic ones friend. It's the new norm. This game is doomed if there's nothing done about it.

    thats just literally not true

  • @Brawler said:

The game starts. Everyone has RBTs on their heads. The killer is running a Video Tape. Nobody sees auras of Jigsaw Boxes. The killer is running Rules Set No. 2. The map is Midwich, an offering was used. Would be wise to fnd the box and get rid of the traps. That's what we did... Until we realized one box is bodyblocked by an AFK Pig. Two of us managed to find a key to their traps, while the other two wasn't able to do anything, just do generators and eventually die as the RBT timer expired.

The pig didn't do anything throughout the game. Crouched in the beginning blocking one box and enjoyed her two undeserved "kills" afterwards. I believe that the Video Tape addon's purpose was to have an easier start as The Pig, much easier start, but it is an iridescent addon after all. I guess it was just a matter of time until players notice it's so abusable an addon that is simply a threat to game's health. I've only encountered such killer once, thankfully, but everyone can run these addons and make another match for survivors a really unenjoyable and frustraiting one.

It does not look like a tactic or a strat to me, it's simply an exploit. Yes, this time it was two kills, but it could've been one, three, four or no kills, that's true. It was all RNG, still leaving a chance for at least one survivor not being able to get rid of their trap and be killed. It goes without saying that these kills were undeserved, not requiring the killer to do anything at all, not requiring skill or even clicking a mouse button. Is it fair?

Giving you guys a video and a screenshot. I hope that the problem gets acknowledged and eventually solved somehow.

    Hi,

I'm 300h in and even if I'm not a top player, I'm not a beginner either.

I'm more a killer main even if I like to play survivor too and I like to play many of them (I tried all of them but for certain killers like Pig or Trapper for example, I just did one or two games with).

Due to Pig challenges in the new tome, I think it's the perfect time to really try her but like I said I just played one or two games (long time ago) with her and even if I know (more or less) how to play a stealth killer like Ghostface, I'm a stranger about the Pig.

Can you give me some advices, perk builds and so on to play her ?

Another question: I know she isn't a really strong killer but do she worth the time to play and maybe later, master her ?

    Thank's !

if you really wanna go in depth on getting good at pig just watch scorpionz pig guide and youll be godlike in no time

if a gen is entity blocked it can not be affected by anything

Idk what you're on about, Pinhead is one of the worst Killers.

yeah but people hate versing him so they just give up just like trickster hes not a good killer but i can guarantee hed have one of the highest dc and give up rates of all killers

So now survivors are using this perk with RPD or Eirie offerings to stay in a high area and wiggling out with Boil over, then coming back up and staying there. Why isn't this reportable as taking games hostage?

And if I slug them, they will spam my steam profile by calling me trash, slugger, and a lot more insults. On the PTB there was a lot of feedback on this perk but none of it was heard. Can you please revert decrease the gains of the perk????

Because the devs are also hinting that they will be nerfing another killer strategy (camping) along with buffing solo queue. Do you really think giving survivors more information and killers less options will have no impact?

i mean you dont really have to camp solos to win and if you buff solo its still solo

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

I see a lot of threads about nerfing camping and giving solo queue more information so they are closer to swfs, but I rarely see what people are willing to give killers in return. I'd love to hear your ideas (with the exception of just buffing ghostface/legion - not trying to hear that at all lol).

nothing? solo being buffed is to match up to killer why would you then buff the thing you are trying to match solo to

  • why would killer need to be buffed if solo was? the point of buffing solo would be to bring it up closer to killer level

Normally i play after midnight when im done working and the game i play are always the same its a sweat fest and if i can get 2 kill its a miracle or the survivor trow at the end. I see myself runner the same 4 perk just to have the match last more then 5 minute and i see the same 8 perk in all my match. For me its not a good experience so i dont play during the day because i dont want to ruin my entire day because i know when im mad im mad for a lomg time.

Today i decide to make an exeption i played during the day and the game i played was really fun. In my first my i expect to play against the perk survivor bring during the night plus map offering all kit so i stayed meta but then i saw they have different perk. So i change my build for some meme build and damn i had so much fun the survivor were more chill the game did not last 4 minute but more around the 10 minute mark. The chat was more chill no one was hating on another. Because the game where more chill and fun i played for hook so many time 2 survivor escape and i was not pissed because the match was fun.

The only thing that i regret its i did not play in the day sooner because soon i have a bunch of games that im waiting coming out in the next 36 day so i wont be able to enjoy that kind of dbd again

for me in the day time if i play killer its just a mix of people trying and people chilling but if i play solo surv 9/10 games my teammates are bots where as in the night time 9/10 games as killer the survs are chilling memeing and in solo q my team is usually really good

Just had one of 'those' games - Cenobite, against a pretty good 3man SWF on The Game. Ended up sweating for 2 hooks. Literally...nothing I can do, every pallet used, every loop exploited. Just a really mean, nasty game - and of course I get teabagged and told to uninstall in postgame.

Another horror is RPD on Deathslinger or Huntress. Or Haddonfield on...basically anyone.

With boons (Mainly COH) I feel like my boy Kazan has unfortunately dropped a few placements and is now around mid to low A tier. This is mainly due to the fact that his snowball is now much harder to use with info perks being weaker due to Shadow Step, and COH being the abomination it is. Of course, his snowball can still never be underestimated, but the sloppy butcher + Lethal Pursuer bum-rush strat is no longer as effective as it used to be.

quite honestly doesnt matter if you gave survs a 200% coh when you can just 4 slug as oni in 20 seconds with infectious and good addons

Another clueless individual here. The perk has been buffed, read the link I sent - it has no counter now basically. Anyway, this post is not about Iron Will which is still one of my favourite perks (been using this since the game came out so probably used it more than you and Marigoria combined) - all I said is that I am objective enough to say it is a bit more OP now (and again, this comes as an Iron Will fan) but the post is about Dead Hard. I don't really mind Iron Will when playing as killer.

my guy are you alright and yes dead hard got hit validation now it just works how it was always suppose to the way to play against and the way to use it is still the same as it always was and why are you even talking about iron will no one said anything about it

  • @Bigbawi said:

New to the forums but I had to make an account to post this.

I'm someone who plays regularly as both survivors and killers - not the best but not the worst with either and quite impartial when it comes to both camps.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but Dead Hard has got to be the most overused, overpowering and broken perk in the game. I'm sure you could maybe say the same about 1-2 perks but, in my opinion, this is it.

While I like the idea of Dead Hard - basically being able to duck a hit in the last second, I say the perk is broken because it removes any skill associated with using it. If anything, it promotes being bad at using it as that's when you get the most out of it and what makes the perk be so overpowering - having a hit connect yet not doing any damage because the survivor activated it too late (whether on purpose or not) and therefore 1. it defeats the purpose of the perk (i.e. ducking a hit as you're basically TAKING a hit) and 2. the perk is overpowering and takes no skill to use (I'm saying this having tried it out - it's very easy to get away with not being injured by a hit if you trigger it late).

I just had a game where I landed 5 legit hits and none of them did any damage because of how this perk is being used these days.

Again, being impartial to killer and survivor, I think survivors do have an advantage overall but perks like Dead Hard make it even more obvious and ruin the overall balance of the game so I hope this will be nerfed to the point where Dead Hard should only do one thing - duck a hit if used properly. If you trigger it late, then you should take damage.

its been the same since it released in like 2016 or early 2017 its not gonna get changed just learn to play around it otherwise your just gonna be miserable

i would rather vs basekit 4 dh then 4 sprintburster that actually use sb well

  • @gendoss said:

I've been playing a lot of Nemesis and basically every time I could have killed a survivor who gets out anyway it's due to a body block. Every single time. He can't do literally anything in a chase when there are 2 survivors because you have to hit them 3 times. If even 1 survivor gets in the way the chase will be extended so much that a gen will pop. It's literally his biggest weakness and I don't understand how to stop it from happening, you can't hit over survivors with your tentacles.

as someone who plays alot of m2 only neme your best bet is to just try and get everyone infected early and let them burn thru vaccines and then when they are all infected they cant take hits

  • @Pandamonium31 said:

If you and your SWF team has just crushed a killer's hopes and dreams, stunned them with every pallet, and cleansed their totems are the very start of the match, don't sit together at the exit gates and stare at the killer/teabag/emote/heal/etc. Just. Leave. Plain and simple. You earned your escape, well done, but there's no need to rub it in someone's face that they didn't preform well.

When I preform very well against survivors, I feel bad for them, and consciously avoid tunneling, camping, even something giving survivors extra chances by just downing them, but letting their teammates heal them.

There just seems to be this consistency in the community that killers who dominate survivors go out of their way to be nice in ways that they can, but when survivors dominate killers they can't wait to hit crouch 4000x times, or stare at you like a group of meerkats. It just leaves a bad taste, and sometimes really infuriates me as killer. You're also not doing your fellow survivors any favours in my next game where I'm going in with the mindset that all survivors are trolls, and decide that I'm not going to do the aforementioned nice things that I could do as killer.

I understand that the whole David vs. Goliath situation makes a survivor win feel that much more accomplished, but I don't think I'd have to read a history book to know that David didn't teabag Goliath when he killed him.

This issue has been especially prevalent in the recent Bloodrush event, in that a lot of people seem to be sweating. As I said, I try to extend the game any way I can, like downing and leaving a survivor to be healed, so that we can all get a nice share of BP together. Yet, survivors tend to forget this and prefer to taunt killers to their wit's end, despite having just dominate the trial against them.

Bottom line, grow up. We're sick of your s***

    dont go to the gate?

Every game full meta squads sweating like their lifes are at stake, they are not even playing for the blood points, just rushing as quick as possible and escaping, we all end up with under 15k points cuz they play only to escape.

There is nothing wrong with it if ppl like that but idk why I get these ppl every game now. (26 games played since this event and I got only around 5 games with more chilled ppl on average)

Idk what can and should be done against this but the gap between sweaty squads and Killers like me who just play to farm BP or do challanges is waaaay too large. The arguement of "just dont expect to win" doesnt make sense since I still end up wasting my time in a 5min game and a 10min que and loading screen time. I would rather just skip those games and play more relaxed with ppl that also want to play like that.

*Edit by farming BP I dont mean farming literally, I mean playing normal without tryharding too much.

Seems like I need again another 1-2 month killer break if that continues.

it really is not that bad lol no one verses "full meta death sweat squads" every game idk why people act like they do

It's immensely lame that Killers take 3 seconds to kick a gen for slow regression while Survivors can literally tap a gen in 1 frame of animation to halt this regression.

Because of this, barring a few perks; Gen Regressing is literally a waste of time for the Killer. It's worse than useless.

    My fix:

Make it so, when Survivors are working on Regressing generator, the regression is PAUSED. This way, they get 100% of their repair progress, as is fair.

If they get a Skillcheck and hit a Great; Regression is removed. Killer will have to kick the gen again.

If they get a skillcheck and get a Normal; Regression will still re-apply if they leave the gen. 2 Normal skillchecks & Regression is removed, same as 1 Great.

If they miss their Skillchecks & leave the generator, or are chased off, or if they leave the generator, or are chased away BEFORE getting 1 Great or 2 Normal skillchecks: Regression resumes as normal.

This would make Kicking Generators actually useful, and stop this utterly BS 'flicker' gen tap that is in no way a danger in a chase. Gen tapping only requires 1 frame of animation. At 60 FPS, that's 1/60th of a second.

I repeat: Gen Tapping requires 1/60th of a second to undo a Killer's 3 seconds of work.

If you can't see why that's BS; I don't know what to tell you.

    Edit: For typos.

I'm gonna be honest my man i DO see the problem here but also you shouldn't even take the time to kick a gen without pop unless you know for certain they aren't gonna come back for ages and tap it, because otherwise its just not worth it in the slightest a complete waste of time

Nurse is the most powerful killer at the highest player levels and the weakest killer at average to low levels. She has the toughest learning curve and the highest reward ceiling. So the trick is that she probably could stand to get a buff that helps new players use her but that doesn’t significantly increase her performance among Nurse veterans, and also possibly a nerf to bring her down just a bit at the highest level if at the highest level she’s then getting too great a kill rate.

Personally I’d be for something like

    • Let her keep her head up while wheezing. It’s a super annoying part of her kit that she stares at her feet half the game. This would be a bit of a buff, but mainly one that helps newer Nurses, and also just a general quality of life improvement to make her more fun to use.
    • Show the Plaid Flannel targeting indicator by default and replace the Plaid Flannel add-on with something else. Plaid Flannel is an add-on that only really helps new Nurses learn to use the character, high level Nurses don’t need it and never use it. So making it part of the base ability makes the character easier to learn without necessarily significantly increasing her performance at high level play.
    • After those changes are put in, then if her high level play kill rate is too great slow down her teleport refresh a bit to compensate.

I think with those tweaks you get a Nurse that more players might actually try and learn but whose overall power level at the upper end is kept in check.

i would cry if they made plaid flannel default it would be so annoying on my screen

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 10
