This isn't a 'fix', it's not broken to begin with.
The way I see it, we need to have more BP perks, not nerf the ones we have. And I love BBQ as it is, it's such a well-designed perk.
I'm guessing you main survivor, and you either don't know how to counter BBQ or you're upset that WGLF doesn't have a useful effect (which I can understand). Or this is bait.
-
Feels like the first perk should have hex status, not the second perk. Unless the first perk unmarks the survivor when it activates. From the wording, I can't tell.
The second perk doesn't seem strong enough to be a hex, and the concept doesn't feel like a hex to me either. If you get a survivor to vault a pallet multiple times, you probably either already have them trapped in a loop where you can hit them or you have looped around a safe pallet long enough to where breaking it normally would have been faster.
-
This is actually a bit similar to my second iteration of Bleedout, except the hindered doesn't last as long, and then there's the whole constant bleeding part.
I didn't like the idea of hindered because the killer could just keep chasing and be guaranteed a hit, but in this version the hindered might be too weak. However, if the time is extended it would be OP again. That's why I settled for Exhaustion instead of Hindered on Bleedout. I personally think it would be a better effect while still reflecting the blood loss. Also, how strong is the hindered effect? 15%, I'm guessing?
Not sure how I feel about the blood, especially the fact that there's no good way to get rid of it. Maybe it could be on a timer once you're healed? Then again, the Z block has a similar effect and it's pretty useless.
Upon close consideration, I'd say this perk would probably have little impact and would rarely be used as the meta is to stay injured and rush gens, and this perk gives survivors even less reason to heal. Not that every perk has to be strong, but that's my assessment of it.

I made a perk way too similar to this
Ah, it seems we think alike then :)
I actually considered removing the stun requirement myself. You'd have to use it more carefully if you don't want to waste pallets, but at the same time people would probably waste pallets for the speed boost.
The stun requirement makes it harder to activate, but the survivor would have more choice as to when to use it. I personally like this more because it allows for more strategic gameplay.
Ideally you wouldn't want to use it at an unsafe pallet, especially if the killer has enduring, since the killer could just walk around and catch up to you. If you use it at a pallet that the killer has to break, you'll get more distance.
On the other hand, the killer can avoid the perk activating in the first place, but at the cost of respecting the pallet.
I've kept the concept of this perk in the back of my mind for a while. Today I was thinking about an idea for a survivor who starred in a survivalist TV show, and I wanted to come up with something related to "fight or flight" to fit the survival theme. Then this perk came to mind.
Edit: One thing I just noticed on your idea that I gotta disagree with. I think the stun time should only apply to pallets. 7.5 second stun from DS is a bit much, especially since killers no longer have a perk to reduce it.

Personally, the perk needs a rework of some kind. I don't think a perk should be able to negate the power of the killer without a draw back of some kind.
It doesn't negate her power like a flashlight does. She'll still be able to teleport, and you'd also have to stay inside her small terror radius to use it in the first place.
Also... spine chill counters wraith, pig, ghostface and spirit, calm spirit counters doctor, slippery meat counters trapper, urban evasion already counters hag, iron will counters spirit again, small game counters trapper and hag again, and so on. Where are the drawbacks of these perks?

Heal speed bonus, plus more skill checks sound a bit potent. Maybe just make greats give a bigger boost, maybe 5%? Good checks maybe gets 2% more? The scratch marks, I have no quarrel with, though maybe clarify on how much healing is required.
The bonus isn't that much, really. Healing bonuses don't stack over 100% so it's not like you could run we'll make it and botany knowledge for insane healing speed. This perk seems like it's meant to be used with autodidact, though.
-
Hooks repair after 80 seconds? They repair after 180 seconds normally. Running saboteur like this would make them repair faster.

And you can only move sideways with it
Higher level players will find ways to use survivor the movement mechanics to make it go where they want.
-
So... a dead hard that you can use while uninjured.
-
Most of the time it's destroyed before it even gets one token.

@Raven014 said:
I think instead of expose, it should just injure if you're healthy, after all, it's called Iron Maiden after a torture device. Nobody will really take advantage of the expose duration.
Either that, or make the expose longer.
So pretty much my idea exactly, then :P
-
@Cheers said:
Although I like the concept of it, this would cause killers to camp survivors who dc. They just count out the seconds and then they'll actually be dead.
Well yes, but keep in mind that this would take 60% longer than camping a normal dying survivor at most, and if the survivor actually DC's they would have been standing there doing nothing while gens are getting done.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The reason the exposed doesn’t last long is because it really only has a niche purpose: to punish survivors that rush into and immediately out of a locker mid chase in order to avoid a hit by the killer.
Even without iron maiden, that is incredibly risky and not worth it if you're healthy. I don't think I've seen an uninjured survivor try that because it's so easy to get grabbed.
-
First killer I played was the Hillbilly. Chevy's chainsaw jamboree cannot be stopped.
First 10 killers I went up against was huntress. Died every time and it was really annoying and boring. To this day, huntress is probably the killer I'm the worst at going against. But I prefer going against her than hag or trapper because I am always certain that I will manage to trigger every single trap.

Kinda removes the point of body locking entirely.

With dedicated servers, BHVR has said they're going to make it so that the bodies of disconnected survivors remain, so you should be able to hook them for the BBQ stack even if they disconnected.
Okay but I was giving an example of how ToTH could be used as a "support" BP perk. So instead of DCs, say 1 survivor is immersed the whole game and they get hatch before you hook them. ToTH would make up for that.
You would also be able to use it with other BP perks, so you could run ToTH and dying light together and you'd have a good chance to get a good total boost.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Using Thrill of the Hunt for BP never works out for me. Survivors immediately start trying to cleanse it, so I either waste time protecting it all game or I lose it right at the start and get no BP, just a wasted perk slot. I've thrown many games just to stand in front of TotH and protect it out of spite: if I can't get BP from my own perk, then no one else can, either. Now do the gens and get off my map.
Anyway, what I'd really like is a perk that boosts Brutality gain for killers. There's Beast of Prey for Hunting, Distressing for Deviousness, and BBQ gives a multiplier for hooking. Brutality is missing its own perk.
My idea is to replace the hunting BP bonus (beast of prey already does it and getting 8k hunting is already super easy) with a post-game bonus that grants you BP for each remaining totem at the end of the match (regardless of whether the hex was destroyed).
This new version should be used with other BP perks (like BBQ) to make sure you reach the 100% bonus. (So for instance if a survivor DCs before you hook them, but you still have at least 2 totems, you can still get double BP).
-
@Milo said:
You mean like WGLF/BBQ/Pudding/Cake bonus?
Yes, the post game bonus. Specifically WGLF and BBQ. The idea is that there are multiple perks for the bonus, but they don't stack over 100% so you can't run 4 for 5 times the BP.

Obviously, and then start running boyyyyyy, lol. The point is for you not to get grabbed or Tier3 downed so easily
Spine Chill doesn't work on Tier 1 Myers though.
-
> Myers: Run Spine Chill
breathes in scratched mirror

5 second stun would be fine, but keep in mind it's already annoying when you go up against a SWF that all have head on and stun you at every corner (Please I'm a scratched mirror myers at MacMillan am I not suffering enough?
Jk they all died).
Exhaustion should definitely stay there. If you had head on, inner strength, DS, AND an exhaustion perk at the ready, that would be a bit much.

inb4 "HUR DUR OBV KILLERS WANT SURVIVORS WEAK"
aside from that, it would make sense since (like what @YungOlaf324 said, you are immune to doctor's madness while in a locker)
Y- wha- what did you just call me?

Hopefully we get an event on the 17th when the Stranger Things chapter comes out. I feel like they'd do it then because of the amount of new players.

Boyfriend's Memo might be buffed, hopefully.
Other than that, i only really dislike the movement speed reductions on two Add-ons.
I avoid them with a passion, i get no joy out of being made slower.
I actually like Vanity Mirror with Dead Rabbit on Gideon Meat Plant.
I do like the idea of boyfriend's memo being buffed though, as long as it's still a tier 1 addon that can work with scratched mirror.
-
I was gonna make a post about this too lol
Yeah that would be nice. We're already immune to Doctor's passive madness in lockers, so it makes sense. Doing this would make survivors also immune to Infectious Fright, but at the cost of not hearing the terror radius.
-
Bond, Kindred, Detective's Hunch, Open Handed. Works best with a Rainbow Map + Crystal Bead and Jelly.

His power, if you look at him it's the loch ness monster, but if you look away and back again, it's a log. XD
Better idea: Nessie looks like a survivor at first, but when it asks for 350 BP you realize it's the killer.
-
I go for anything that gets me gen grabs. I love 'em.
-
A bit too many effects, I think. I don't think it should have the third one, and I'm on the fence about the second one. Just the first one would be fine, or maybe just the second one.
-
Disruptive Energy is just a better Third Seal.
-
It would be neat if survivors were oblivious when they were in the locker so they wouldn't know when it was safe to get out.
-
Myers and Ace.
Spooky Boi and Smug Boi.
-
It would be nice if it made the scratch marks indicate which direction the survivor was going.
-
Balanced Landing. It's an Exhaustion perk that also has a passive that creates infinites.

Slugging is not an exploit... I use it to get people off gens. I hook one guy he gets unhooked I slug him then down the rescuer guy and hook the unhooked guy to kill him faster. Or he can just go in a locker after unhook and just wait there because that's a very skillful outplay and totally has no counters whatsoever because the 90% survivor community wants to have a easy braindead game that's completly in their favour. Or I'll hook the rescuer find the first guy I hooked and down him quickly then get d striked even after I hooked someone else. But no I'm just an entitled player that just wants a logical change and to stop the locker exploit with d strike how could I?
Just don't pick him up if you find him a second time... and if he's gonna wait in a locker the whole time, good. He'll spend 60 seconds doing nothing.
-
When I play doc, I don't camp or tunnel. Maybe it's your rank? The unhooked person's probably in madness 3 so there wouldn't be much point in going after them.

But, I would love more Variety. We need some female killers to fill that gap between too much males and too little females.. That's My Opinion.
I don't see how adding more female killers would create more "variety" when it's already a nearly even split. If it was all male and they added a female killer, then yes it would create variety.
Male or female isn't the only way they can create variety, though. The best way to create variety is to make killers with creative and unique powers.
I don't think the devs should restrict their creativity to ensure there is a 50/50 split. They should be free to bring their visions to reality, regardless of whether the killers happen to be male or female.

-
I'd like to see my boy Mikey as a survivor.
Michael: *drops pallet and just stares at the killer*
Killer: *backs away slowly*
Spirit would be nice too. Someone actually made a pretty cool render of spirit as a survivor.

Trapper as a Survivor is simple and hilarious.
Plague loses the rest of her foot in a bear trap.
Crouch, place a trap over the Hag's phantasm traps, she jumps through and gets snapped clean in half.
A trap suddenly snaps out of nowhere and turns out the poor Wraith's invisible chicken legs got caught.
Things would get messy.
If only he knew how to land skill checks...

Nurse crosshair confirmed!
We already have the plaid flannel though

Wdym? There's already a timer for it
I think they want the cooldown it had before it got buffed. Not sure why though, it's not like it's a high tier perk.
-
As someone whose favorite survivor build is all aura perks, I love this idea.
This would also combo nicely with Detective's Hunch even without a full aura build.
-
I honestly don't understand the problem people have with DS. It's never once been an annoyance to me. I've only been hit by it like... three times I think since the rework. If you ask me, that's much better than three times per game. And each time I got hit by it, it was because I forgot the survivor was hooked recently.
Just leave the survivor and go after someone else while they're wasting time in a locker. Is it really so hard? Why are you tunneling survivors in the first place? They used half their perks slots so they can get a heal after getting unhooked without being tunneled. I don't see what's OP about that.

This is a tough one. If no mither is buffed to reduce injured sounds there would be two perks doing the same thing.
Eh, we already have Self Care, Solidarity, Inner Strength, and Second Wind which do nothing with No Mither. I don't see a problem with having another perk that's useless with it. Besides, some others made a good point that iron will and no mither could counter stridor.
-
When you said Adept Bill I thought you were trying to getting a 4k with Bill Overbeck.
-
Myers. If I could play scratched mirror every game, I would. I love spooking people.
Spirit is my secondary. I like being spooky with prayer beads.
I play a bit of pig and ghostface, but I don't have as much fun with them.
I could see myself playing a lot of Demogorgon. I've been getting some gen grabs and portal grabs with him already.

@jball22 said:
Also I think WGLF should be a prestige 3 reward so u can run 4 other perks
Then what's the point in getting the teachable? Will killers get BBQ as basekit? A BP bonus for prestiging does sound nice though, even if it's small. It would also compensate for the more expensive bloodwebs.
