I've always been a fan of the aura reading idea, but I recently had another idea.
I was thinking it could give the unhooked survivor a small haste effect (like hope) for 30 seconds or so. That would discourage the killer from tunneling and better reflect that idea of "we're gonna live forever" rather than "I'm gonna farm you for points!" Plus, it'll help with getting stacks.
I think it could combo nicely with babysitter, too.
-
Maybe survivor action speed could be slowed for each survivor in the basement, so they'll be encouraged to go for basement saves.

Its nerfed on
T2 myers (if applicable)
ghostface
pig
wraith
freddy
Demogorgon (not a nerf, as they came with it, but still ineffective)
Myers doesn't have Undetectable.

This would make DS a 100 times more annoying for me. I get hit by it very rarely since I usually slug people that I hooked recently, so this would make it more like the original DS where it's impossible to avoid.
800% speed boost is way too much. For comparison, Billy sprints at 230% speed and nurse blinks at about 333% speed. The survivor would be moving faster than twice the speed of a nurse blink, which would be hard to control and just look ridiculous. Imagine trying to run through Lery's or Hawkins at this speed.
How does doing gens abuse DS, btw? They can't do gens if you slug them. And survivors should be willing to accept that they will probably be slugged if they run DS.
Exhaustion... okay, I'll give you that. DS seems like it could be an exhaustion perk. I'd be fine with that change.
You'd still probably have to chase them for a while before you hit them, only to get stunned and lose them. I don't see the difference here.
I don't think DS needs a full re-work (this is not an 'adjustment' btw, this is a complete re-work). It's fine the way it is, and the only really abusable thing with it is lockers, and that only works if the killer decides to tunnel the obsession.
-
For normal games, a medkit.
If I'm running Kindred, Detective's Hunch, Bond, and Open Handed... Rainbow Map with Crystal Bead + Retardant Jelly.
-
Deliverance, Balanced Landing, and Head On, in that order. Put them next to each other and you see a survivor gradually hitting that T-pose.
-
I want to make it clear. I am NOT frustrated from going against NOED. I want it to be changed so it'll feel less degenerate and more like a terrifying endgame perk that better reflects the idea of a relentless killer catching survivors on the verge of escape.
-

Noed is fine, just touch da bones and you will be fine. If you do so killer is handicapped, playing with 3 perks whole game because noed did not activate. Also with recent buff for BP for dull totems its just unhealthy not to touch da bones. It's free 1k/totem.
The goal of this idea isn't to nerf it. I want it to feel better on both sides. Right now it feels like the killer is cheesing downs, especially since the hex isn't revealed immediately and it's like telling the survivor "Surprise! You've been downed in one hit!"
I want it to still be very powerful while making it more scary. What's more terrifying to you, a killer that instantly downs you out of nowhere or a killer that is running at you with increased speed and less attack cooldown?
-
@LastShoe said:
NOED no longer grants the Exposed effect.
And you buffed genrush… congrats. You made NoED useless in the long term balance.
Why? Noed works really simple, survivors can, but don't have to, break the totems to avoid it or just completely focus on the gens and risk meeting the consequences. What's more NoED is the only counter to the adrenaline (punishes survivors for this gen pushing at the end even when you are next to them) and it is not an ultimate perk… it have a counter Hope, its really underrated perk in my opinion. How it counters NoED? It counters the movement speed that killer receives, so it becomes actually easier to loop him.
The idea is to make it strong without Exposed. With a reduced attack cooldown and a buffed speed increase, you'll still be able to down people very quickly, especially with STBFL stacks. I may increase the numbers if this doesn't seem strong enough.

Was it not like this before?
Before the PTB, the gens went red when they fully regressed.

His power will down you in exactly 30 seconds.
Oblivious remember?
IIRC deep wound also pauses when the survivor is being chased.
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
Like, it's a powerful effect I don't disagree, that's why it has the downside of making you much more likely to be caught out in the first place and thus not having time to reach a loop where you otherwise would have.
Also using the perk makes it impossible to use BT and means Legion will ez kill you.
There are plenty of places where you'll have access to a gen and have a loop nearby. And even if you get hit, you'll probably be able to make it to a jungle gym or shack and use the perk to loop the killer for ages. Then if the killer leaves, you can use self care or a medkit and stay in a safe spot while you heal. The killer will also have no idea you have the perks, so they'll waste a lot of time trying to mindgame.
It would also make you immune to perks like infectious fright and unnerving presence. And legion can probably get a hit on you (depending on the range of his breathing noise, which idk), but he's gonna have a really hard time getting you down since his power won't help at that point.
-
Completely silent might be too much, but reduced sound could be fine. For the footsteps, I mean.
-
So remove the killer's ability to mindgame?Sounds pretty OP chief.

Wow it doesn't work on him, sounds like a bug. If not that seems pretty op to be able to still attack your obsession with no punishment.
Any killer with a damaging ability can do that. STBFL is only affected by basic attacks.
-
Feral frenzy still affects stacks. Idk if it benefits though. Does feral frenzy even have an attack cooldown?
-
I don't know if shred benefits from STBFL, but using shred does NOT affect your stacks, meaning you can shred the obsession without losing stacks. So even if shred doesn't benefit from it, STBFL will still probably be great on Demogorgon.

Made up rules can go both ways, you know.
Never seen a killer complain about survivors doing their job.
-
The only time I use NOED nowadays is with speed limiter. It's funny to have a weak chainsaw and then it suddenly insta-downs when the last gen is popped.
EDIT: And with BK Myers. Because sometimes I still want points even if I'm memeing.

@not_Queef said:
Nothing wrong with being immersed.
Survivors don't have to follow killers' made-up rules.
Survivors make up rules for the killers, not the other way around.
-
A lot of survivor mains would probably just DC if they were the obsession with these changes.
-
How to re-work WGLF:
Make it do something. Literally anything. Just by not having an effect it inherently sandbags the team because you're using 3 perks at most.
Make it show the killer's aura to you and the unhooked survivor when you unhook someone. Then you'd know whether you should heal the survivor.
Make it give the unhooked survivor a temporary Hope effect. Then the survivor could avoid getting tunneled and make it easier for you to get stacks as well.
Make it have some kind of effect on the game. Please.
-
As someone who plays killer and survivor just about equally, I think BBQ is perfectly fine where it is. The only killer perks I think need reworks (other than perks that are simply too weak) are Ruin and NOED.
Ruin because I feel like I have to run it every game and I'm tired of using it and going against it. This really requires a rework of the game in general. I personally think the game should be slowed down some way and then we can put a flat nerf on ruin so killers can go without it but it could still help without being too strong.
NOED isn't OP imo, but it's honestly just boring for me, so I never run it. I think it would be more fun without the insta-down and with a big attack cooldown reduction (much bigger than it used to be).
BBQ, though, is fine. Killers run it very often, but that's mainly because of the BP. As someone who wants WGLF buffed, I think it's really annoying to have to use a BP perk that doesn't actually help you in the game. And it already has a pretty nice effect that discourages camping. As a survivor, you could also counter it by running one way and turning around when the perk deactivates. So you don't always need to find a locker or use distortion.
If anything, I think more BP perks should be added on both sides (or perhaps some existing perks should be reworked?) that each have unique effects and don't stack with each other. This way, we don't see the same perks as often but everyone still gets more BP.
-
Kinda op as a perk and makes the wraith addon useless tbh. Makes surveillance kinda pointless too. I do want to see more of this effect, but I think it should be in addons. A purple addon for Demogorgon could be decent. It could show the gen progress while he's in the upside down.
-
My recommendation: If he gets stunned by a pallet he gets removed from the game. Not the match, the game.

Sleepy Hollow: The headless horseman (pumpkin head) as killer, Johny Depp as survivor

The Exorcist: Possesed girl as killer and Father Karras as survivor
The Demon: Demon as killer and Col. Bill Carson and Mary Jones as survivor
Hannibal: Hannibal Lecter as killer and Clarice as survivor
Dracula: Dracula as killer, Van Helsing as survivor (Hugh Jackman)
The Werewolf: Werewolf as killer and werewolf in human form as survivor
Death Note: Ryuk as killer, Yagami Light and L as survivors
You're welcome
Light Yagami as survivor
New perks:
- Once you have seen the killer for 5/4/3 seconds, this perk activates. Press E while standing still to write the killer's name in the death note and instantly kill them.
- Start the match with 6/8/10 tokens. Press 3 to consume 1 token and eat a potato chip. The exclamation you make while doing so will create a noise notification and alert the killer.
- Once 60/50/40 seconds have passed since the start of the match, this perk activates. Quitting the game will instead write your own name in the death note and kill you. You will black pip and keep any bloodpoints you earned.

"Free Rides" Spooky Edition
Tier 1 Myers with boyfriend's memo
Mad Grit
Agitation
Iron Grasp
Monitor & Abuse
Ideally you want to find a survivor who won't wiggle. You won't need iron grasp if this happens but it doesn't happen often. The idea is to find a survivor, carry them around, and sneak up on people with your small terror radius so you can hit them with mad grit.
You could run STBFL instead of iron grasp and carry your obsession, but you'll need them to not wiggle. You could also drop Agitation for 0 terror radius but you won't be able to catch up to anyone who runs away from you.
-
Seems like that should be a different perk. I personally think predator should increase the amount of time scratch marks remain, sorta like bloodhound.

I can’t be the only one who has an issue with this
Well matchmaking is pretty much completely broken at the moment, so you might just be getting into low rank lobbies for that reason.

Having that perk kinda ruins the point of having No Mither. If they added it, they should buff no mither as well to make it at least have 100% noise reduction.

The rank they have is there for a reason, to indicate how good they are at the game. Pulling someone that’s in rank 8 to play with you in rank 1 for example messes up the balance of the match queuing with people who are a mixed bundle of ranks ruining the flow of the game, whether a friend you would want to play with can join you or not is an issue they have to deal with at their rank.
The thing is we usually get matched up with lower ranks or ranks in between us, so I don't think it's too bad as it is.

Inifinites can't be done anymore. Now that blood lust has become more reliable and efficient with the addition that they limit the number of times you can vault. Inifinites are impossible to do.
There are still certain places where you can loop many killers for a very long time, long enough to recover from exhaustion if you could while running.
-
The change sounds nice, but there's a reason they changed exhaustion. We don't want more infinites.
I think it should work better when you're crouching (and perhaps not moving as well). That way it could be a little more useful and also fit the perk icon and name better.
-
I personally think the add-on should limit hatchets to 1 and trump all other add-ons. Add-ons don't always have to mix with every other add-on (take scratched mirror or waterlogged shoe for example), and I think it would be balanced if you only had one shot to insta-down someone. Instead of infantry belt, you could use deerskin gloves and iron maiden.
-
I often play with lower rank players who aren't that new to the game but struggle to reach my ranks (I've reached rank 1 and usually end up in red/purple but I don't think they've gotten past green). Ideally they would be at their rank all the time, but then we couldn't play with each other. And I don't like the idea of deranking to match their level.
I don't think there is a perfect system that is fair to everyone. Forcing players to be close in ranks would probably make a lot of players quit the game because they can't play with their friends anymore.

Nope, it doesn't save anything. Feel free to spend your shards, too, since they'll be back when you switch back to the normal game. I usually use them on the shrine for extra BP to level up new characters.
-
I used this add-on all day yesterday and it's actually pretty nice. You can:
- Find someone to heal you
- Know what the obsession is doing (healing or being healed, cleansing a totem, etc.)
- Help the obsession work on a gen
- Keep track of the killer if the obsession is being chased
- Counter knock-out if the obsession is slugged
- Lead the obsession to the hatch so you can use your key
-
@TheRealHansGruber said:
Yes, it says the aura of the obsession is revealeved, not use channel to reveal the obsessions aura.
I thought the same thing at first too
I don't think any of the add-ons say that they are only active during channeling though
-
Does anyone know if you can get DS'd by someone on death hook and then hook the previous obsession for more stacks?
-
Unless the killer has bamboozle, the windows are only blocked for the survivor that used the windows. This is specifically stated in the game. I don't see how this changes anything, really.
-
I'm guessing it means the chance to become the obsession.
-
@TAG said:
Left Behind now reveals the Hatch to the last Survivor.
Dying Light now increasingly slows down repair/sabotage/heal speed every time someone is hooked as long as the Obsession is still alive (the Obsession also unhooks and heals faster).
Funny, I was thinking that would be an interesting left behind change just yesterday. I wonder if they'll change the achievement, too.

Blood on your hands is for the first survivor you kill without sacrificing right? Because I got that from the RBT too (never wanted to use moris, still don't, rather get bloodpoints XD )
So does that mean a RBT kill will complete a pig mori daily ritual?
-
If the last survivor is down and everyone else is dead, I look for the hatch and close it. I don't spare them, but if they have adrenaline they have a chance of escaping. Makes things more interesting. Other than that, I only spare people if in certain situations where I think they truly deserve mercy, like if two people DC'd early.
-
Oh, another one I almost forgot about:
"Don't touch my stuff" Trapper
Bloody Coil + Padded Jaws
Thrill of the Hunt, Haunted Grounds, Surveillance, Hangman's Trick
The rules are simple: you touch his stuff, you die.
You could replace Hangman's Trick with MYC or Devour Hope, since those technically involve touching hooks. Overcharge, Cruel Confinement, or Mindbreaker could also be alternatives to Surveillance.
-
Here's another build I wanted to try but don't have the perks for:
Pallet Master Freddy
Enduring, Spirit Fury, Brutal Strength, Fire Up
Dream pallet add-on + some other add-on, idk
Eat pallets for breakfast and replace them with your own.
-
There should be a limit on how often the killer can break chests or survivors won't have much of a chance. I always liked the idea of it being like the lunar event where you can smash a chest after hooking someone. Though I think it should be its own mechanic rather than a perk. The amount of chests per map should also be increased, and the cut coin should be changed to block off some chests for survivors instead of removing them. It would be interesting to have both sides fight over something other than generators.
