  • Looking good but probably fake. I wish it was real, though. I'd love to play as a Xenomorph. These things are seriously scary but meh... It's probably bee boy afterall.

I'm just pointing out how long it took me to notice how much most people on here ######### about anything that doesn't go their own way.

    😔 I'm just gonna take the L

GG EZ! 😏 On a serious note I think negativity is pretty normal in PVP game forums as that's where two opposite sides can discuss about how "unfair" the other side is.

I'm (for instance) posting in Borderlands forums as well and everyone seems chill with each other since the PVP aspect is non-existent so everyone basically wants the same thing when it comes to changes, buffs and sometimes nerfs.

I could obviously be wrong, though.

  • So you're whining about whining people? So much for originality!

  • How are you supposed to see it anyways? It happens. People do get banned on every platform. The only reason everyone seems to think reporting does nothing is the fact no one actually spends their time submitting a ticket with proper evidence and all that stuff the devs (obviously) need to actually ban someone. They can't just ban someone because a player hits that in-game report button afterall.

The people I reported with everything (ticket, video, subscription etc) were banned even before XBOX had dedicated servers. I'm not sure but about this but isn't it way more complicated to ban players without dedicated servers? Anyways the devs do take reports seriously regardless of one's platform as long as people take their time to submit a ticket with clips and everything.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

You're on Xbox. You won't get banned.

Unless you're legit hacking or something like that Microsoft won't do anything. I've also never seen someone outright banned on a single game, but who knows.

Platform doesn't matter. I reported people on XBOX myself who were working together (and recorded themselves doing so) and they got banned a few days after I submitted a ticket (which I saw as a screenshot on their page as they didn't set their profiles on private).

Alright so 1) Wouldnt i have to kill her for that rule to apply?

And 2) lets say it was against the rules, is it out right bannable or just a suspension?

If the clip shows obvious teaming between you and a survivor and also covers all important details (killer and survivor gametags) expect a mild temporary ban IF said "Karen" really spends her time reporting you with a ticket, video evidence and match subscription.

Most people don't submit a ticket and only use the in-game report which does absolutely nothing, though - so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

The worst thing you can do when you meet survivors you like is take advantage when a they decide to sandbag another survivor for you as it can meet the requirement for "teaming with the killer". If you want to farm and goof around just do so while ignoring those that don't want to participate.

One of the girls sandbagged her and i downed her, but then she immediately dc'd. I wouldnt have stopped her from doing gens and leaving 🤷‍♂️

That's a bannable offense named "working/teaming with the killer".

Then why did you reply if you don't care? You tried to shut me down, your part of the problem.

Did you even read my comment? I did NOT say "no one cares".

I said -and that's a fact judging by your "begging" statement:

YOU ARE TAKING A FORUM TOO SERIOUSLY.

There is no such thing as a problem. If you get stressed out over a forum it's clearly time to do something else.

  • You do realize you are taking a trivial forum way too seriously, don't you?

  • Honestly I'm beginning to believe there are in fact actual bots. I'm not even joking. Some decisions survivors do even on red ranks do not seem logical no matter how you put it.

Hahaha but he is one of the weakest killera, people camp with him for a reason, maybe this buff would make them camp less bcs they could do well. Clown also needs rework xD

The thing is if they just plain buffed him people would still facecamp everytime they lose. People will always camp as a last resort (or just because they like to ruin the game for others).

The developers either need to rework him into something completely different mechanically or they need to make camping straight up impossible otherwise they'd literally just create a stronger camper that can catch people even quicker before he can camp them.

I love Bubba. I have been (almost) exclusively playing him since the day they released him. But even I think he needs to get a complete update. He's more of a toxic meme and mistake-reliant killer than anything else. Bubba deserves better.

  • People that "main" one side can't be taken seriously.

  • Extremely childish.

Translation: I am a survivor in red ranks enjoying the only game platform in the world where the game is one-sided in my favor and I'm having a blast making killers miserable and suicidal.

Rank 1 on both sides since 2017 with numerous clips as killer/survivor to back it up. Everyone who "mains" one side has no idea what the other side has to deal with and thus has no credibility in my opinion.

  • Translation:

"I'm playing killer at red ranks with 5 days of total playtime and losing way too often and I don't consider it a ranking/pipping issue (ranking up as killer is almost as easy as survivor in my book) despite the fact I clearly belong to yellow ranks. Instead I will blame it on gameplay balance (despite the numerous survivor nerfs every patch) and act like I deserved to win despite my lack of experience and/or skills."

Have you considered that maybe Tru3 just isn’t as good as you think? The narrative he uses is that any game he doesn’t win easily is due to a “4 man stretched screen optimal bully squad”. How often do you hear someone like Zubat rant and rave constantly about having no chance against survivors? Are we really going to believe Tru3 is the one streamer who gets nothing but 4 man death squads? Just think about it, hes in the business of making himself look good.

    Thank you.

Well just yesterday when I Switched from doctor to my Claudette main I was in a match and pointed to an empty locker the killer went to check when they turned back towards me I was gone 😂. Yes some killers can be potatoes to.

That has nothing to do with being potato. If you point at a locker it's literally a 50/50 scenario. Either you lied or you did not. Only way to find out is opening the locker. Obviously the killer can chase and down you but IF there is someone in said locker the killer saves precious time.

That being said I wouldn't check the locker as I'm too busy defending my basement chest these days. Survivors just won't stop trying to rob me for some reason.

  • Everyday is leg day

  • All of these perks have multiple downsides.

  • I think he's kinda boring but I'm not gonna complain if it's him. Perhaps he's got some interesting perks at least.

  • I enjoy all Azarov and in-door maps (except for Hawkins. It's an awesome map design-wise but the gameplay on that map sucks completely).

  • Same here. Literally cant play as I keep getting connected to the wrong servers resulting in crazy pings.

  • Why would you slug and camp with a mori? That doesn't make any sense.

Slugging without hooking them = you can't mori them.

Slugging after hooking them = waste of time as you could mori them.

Camping = people will repair gens if they're not braindead again wasting your mori.

Are you new to the game?

  • Throwing a tantrum in a video game over something as trivial as rank numbers doesn't sound like a good way to spend your spare time but you do you... I guess.

  • The most toxic thing in the game are scared teammates that don't do anything useful throughout the match while you are getting chased, downed, tunneled, slugged, camped etc.

I don't care what a killer does since I know the struggles of killer gameplay. It's the useless ######### solo teammates that trigger me - and it's ALWAYS Bill players for some reason. I have NEVER seen a decent Bill player.

  • Clown would immediately become a top tier killer with this music because people wouldn't be able to focus during the chase haha.

I used an example of a way it can be used. It's pretty situational regardless, you still have to be in the area to know the pallet was dropped in the first place. This is true for every pallet drop in every area of every map.

Again, it was just an example, I could have provided any other example, but Killer shack is something everyone recognizes immediately. I could have said "Y'know the 4th jungle gym in Coldwind Farm IV? Yeah there's a pallet there." Probably would have gotten an equally snarky nitpicky response, but that's just how the internet works I guess. People don't wanna read into the context and instead attack something at face value.

Decent killers break any strong pallet the second a survivor drops them but whatever. This topic doesn't interest me much since the developers will not touch this perk anyways so I'm not gonna waste my time discussing this topic any longer.

  • @Terra92 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1283711#Comment_1283711

I mean you really shouldn't be going for a double stun in the first place. It's mostly to allow a loop to be reused, especially a really good one.

Like say your teammate gets downed at Killer shack, and they used the god pallet. While they're being taken to the basement/hook you can reset the pallet and bait the Killer to following you while another teammate goes for the hook save. Now Killer shack can be looped again.

Every killer in the world breaks the shack pallet as soon as it's dropped, though. And if it's one of those killers that don't break pallets then you can loop them into oblivion anyways using the dropped pallets.

As a result the perk remains useless as it can only be used to reset pallets outside a chase.

Good killers break strong pallets immediately and bad killers can be looped even with bad windows so I really see no point in the perk as long as it has its requirements.

I guess I'll have to accept I will never face survivors with any fancy outside the box builds because people are too scared to buff mediocre perks.

  • @DudeDelicious is probably the most dedicated Clown main on these forums.

  • Territorial Imperative: Now reveals the aura of all survivors that enter the basement regardless of distance and no cooldown.

It would finally put an end to all those filthy survivors that keep robbing me! The chest is MINE!

  • Someone should create a list consisting of all named tunnel-reasons in this thread. Oh boy that would be a long list haha...

It's official, they announced it in the last stream. Here are the relevant sections from the full summary post I made on the stream explaining it:

Any news on fixing hitboxes or hits through windows?

The short answer is yes. They are planning to make a number of fixes related to hit registration in order to make hits feel more fair. One change which is planned to be implemented “very soon” is introducing server-side hit validation. What this means is that every time the killer hits a survivor, the server will check whether the hit makes sense according to the information that it (the server) has available (such as the survivor’s relative position, for example). The goal is that such a change will make current issues like being hit through windows, through walls, or from a long way away a lot more fair than they are now. If the server decides that the hit was not valid, the survivor will not take damage and the game will continue as normal.

(Having said that, it should be noted that being able to hit survivors through windows in general is intended design; hitting survivors who are already far away on the other side of a vault, however, is not.)

    ...

Since the introduction of the dedicated servers, survivor ping in general has been lowered significantly. Killer ping obviously has not, given that they had a ping of 0 before, but their ping is still not unusually high.

The main problem here is that killers with high ping do have a number of unfair advantages compared to killers playing on lower ping, and the developers do have plans to rectify this issue – for example, the introduction of server-side, rather than killer-side, hit validation as discussed earlier. One of the functions that feature will have is that it will “reject” a hit if the information it receives from the killer is too far (maybe five seconds, for example) outdated.

Thank you Fibijean. That's definitely going to be a change for the better.

  • @Fibijean said:

    By having bad ping.

(In all seriousness though, lag switching - essentially, giving yourself bad ping on purpose - is bannable, and they're changing hit detection to be server-side soon so it won't even work. So definitely don't actually do it.)

Is it official that hit detection will be server sided or just rumors?

  • If a killer nods or "says no" it usually means you got under their skin somehow. Perhaps you looped the Legion too well so it ruined the Legion player's fun. It would explain why they tunneled you off the hook, too.

Well some people (Like me) like niche perks like this. Not every perk has to be the next dead hard meta perk, and this suggested buff isn't supposed to make it that. Just a suggested quality of life update for it. Look at unrelenting, not the most appealing killer perk but if you're new and miss swings alot it can be very helpful. Same with Windows of Opportunity. I like it cause with SWF location callouts its pretty useful but its held back by its unnecessarily long cooldown and having to track down downed pallets which is time consuming. Giving Aura Reading on downed pallets would make it more appealing for solo players.

And no you can't make resetting pallets instant for 2 reasons. Claudette ain't trapper, she not someone who can just lift a pallet instantly, and it would give no counter play for killers. Its 4 seconds in my eyes for a reason so killers have time to still break it, but if they get stupid and try to mind game it while I'm resetting they're gonna eat another stun.

Personally I think it would be better off with a cooldown like Saboteur's 90/75/60. But some people might find that too strong. Hence why I suggested 120/110/90. Personally I'd like to see both cooldowns be tested.

All I'm saying is pretty much 95% of all perks in the game need significant buffs to make them SOMEWHAT relevant.

There is a reason no one (except for you?) uses Any Means Necessary.

Also the counterplay is braindead easy. Hit the survivor the moment the stun ends. During the PTB with Any Means Necessary Crunchy tried to double stun killers and got downed instead plenty of times as it's a measure of reaction times from both sides (and obviously a matter of latency as well).

On top of that I can use the braindead "just use x-perk" argument that people like to spam on these forums. In this particular case it would be Enduring.

As for the Claudette argument: Please don't try to apply realism to DBD.

If we go by realism all survivors would instantly die if I chainsawed through them. DBD is not a simulator - it's a horror themed action game that applies an unrealistic dimension and an entity feeds on the emotions of humanoid beings.

  • Sounds as useless as it is right now to be honest.

Pallet pick up animation must be INSTANT (if you try to go for a double stun you risk getting hit/downed through the pallet) otherwise it will never be strong or fun enough to replace ANY meta perk OR decently strong perks.

Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Iron Will, Sprint Burst, Prove Thyself, Kindred, Inner Strength etc etc etc

Why should you instead pick a perk that lets you pick up a pallet (IF THE KILLER DOESN'T BREAK IT STRAIGHT AWAY) a few times per match and requires you to stand still for 4 seconds?

  • @Entity_Hugs said:

JFC. Freddy has the SAME LUNGE AS EVERY OTHER KILLER.

And as for fake pallets; just drop early. Stop going for stuns. Freddy punishes Survivors going for stuns.

    There, fixed.

Yes, drop the pallets early so he can place his fake pallets more quickly all around the map. What could possibly go wrong? 🤔

EDIT (for op): Try to stay awake and always look for the closest windows when not in a chase. Freddy can't fake windows so loop them as much as you can and accept he will most likely get you eventually as he is generally considered the "strongest low skill killer" in the game.

  • @Hippie said:

They could make it so that the more you click the flashlight, the faster the battery drains. Or put an initial battery usage on each click, e.g. .5 seconds of battery usage per initial click, then normal usage while holding down the button.

Survivors often use flashlights for communication - especially solo survivors. Therefore it's a big no-no to punish the clicking in any way whatsoever.

Killers just need to learn to ignore survivors that want to get chased. That's literally why flashlight clickers do it all the time. They plan a route and start clicking when they're ready to go. If a killer falls for it and ends up getting looped into oblivion they're just bad at the game and deserve to lose. Simple as.

  • Flashlights did get nerfed to the ground...

  • Let me start off by saying I spent most of my 4k hours exclusively playing Bubba (started maining him the day the devs released him).

1 survivor: Every game even if survivors play decent.

2 survivors: EXTREMELY rare unless you play on rank 20. All survivors that have SOME experience in the game know Bubba has a default chainsaw range of a lousy 15 meters which means even if you find two survivors right next to each other you will only get one of them if they run in different directions.

3 survivors: I only had 1 single triple-instadown within 4000 hours of almost exclusively playing Bubba.

    Details:

    - It was back when Bubba was fairly new in the game and people weren't as good at judging the "chainsaw-deathzone"

    - it was "the game (map)"

    - they were healing EXACTLY under the stairs/below me/center of the map healing each other

    - I had nurse's calling allowing me to rev my chainsaw and sort of "aim for them" before dropping down like an assassin.

    - AND even though they heard the chainsaw they didn't react (they probably thought I was chasing the 4th survivor above them?)

AND DESPITE all these circumstances I JUST hit the 3rd survivor with the last swing. I think I still have a screenshot of all of them on the ground. If only I had recorded it. It was legendary.

4 survivors: As much of a "freak-incident" as a triple-instadown. Completely luck based.

NOTE: I don't count basement and camp multi-instadowns. That's nothing special as literally everyone can do it.

I am not trying to say that you're a bad Wraith player or anything, because you clearly aren't, you maintained rank 1 for 10 games as a killer who isn't the greatest. But, a lot of those games had DC's, bad matchmaking (purple and even green ranks), you used very good add-ons (everyone thinks Wraith with best add-ons is strong), and used map offerings like Lery's and The Game (both maps Wraith would strive on along with many other killers). All I'm saying is that people put Wraith low or mid on tier lists because of his BASE power and how he would fair up against similar skilled survivors. It's hard to make actual conclusions on a killer's power level when you're always using really powerful add-ons and map offerings. If we include add-ons and map offerings, then let's just put Iridescent Head Huntress at S+, Jumpscare Myers on Lery's at S+, among others.

For a fair test I'd really love to see you attempt to do this without using good add-ons and map offerings and then come back with an overall conclusion on how good you think Wraith is. Because to me, Wraith using add-ons: A tier. Wraith without add-ons: C tier.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1274986#Comment_1274986

To be fair, that Wraith player seemed a bit potato-ish. He went for a lot of attacks that were definitely not going to hit.

Agreed. That's why I said it's too easy to pip and rank up "on both sides".

As a result people seem to think a killer, a perk or a specific build is strong when in reality the success of said killer, perk or build was the result of bad or mediocre players that got to red and purple ranks way too quickly/easily.

    @Peace said:

    German detected.

Well, at the end the wraith definitely was at the verge of disconnecting.

His power without add ons is near to useless while being in a chase.

That Wraith player was surprisingly chill to be honest. He didn't even camp me and still got 2 kills by slugging the others with NOED. I was expecting some salty post game messages but nothing. I gotta give it to him he really kept his cool even though I was a little cheeky haha.

  • Most players (including red ranks) are not as good at the game as they should be due to the fact it's WAY too easy to pip and rank up on both sides. On top of that rank reset is still bugged (since release). Many people kept their ranks despite rank reset.

As a result even the worst killers may feel like they are actually strong. That's why Scott won 32 games as speed limiter Bubba which is basically a default killer with no power. That's why I haven't lost a single game as Bubba for years now.

Wraith's power is strong when it comes to finding survivors but pretty useless when it comes to downing them if they know what they are doing (which is rarely the case as most red rank survivors have like <100 hours in the game these days).

As a result Wraith FORCES the player to use the "hit and run strategy".

If you just want to chase and down people the conventional way - Wraith will often get run into oblivion even by solo players that are "OK" at the game including myself:

    https://youtu.be/0YK4F3_1cDc

As you can see I basically started the chase injured and exhausted and still had enough ways to run Wraith for 5 gens ON A REWORKED MAP.

    Now imagine the following scenario:

    - a coordinated SWF team instead of a bunch of solos

    - competent survivors that work on gens while injured and don't go down immediately instead of people that drop the shack pallet at 5 gens and still get injured (notice how the shack pallet is already dropped in the video AND everyone was injured)

    - meta survivor builds (I was running some "meh" perks without adrenaline)

    - multiple toolboxes with addons to make them somewhat viable despite the nerfs (brand new part is still decent)

  • @rabldong said:

I mean if you get slugged at 5 gen, that's on you and your teammates for being bad :-).

    This.

If a whole team gets slugged at 5 gens none of them deserved to escape anyways.

  • Killer was obviously afk. Even if a killer gets totally destroyed, looped for 5 gens and ends up with no hooks at all they will still typically get around 6k bloodpoints. 1k is obviously the result of an afk player.

Besides I don't see much of an issue. No decisive but 3 Urbans means there was no legit red rank survivor anyways.

  • The Entity feeds on strong emotions of all kinds. That's why all survivors and all killers (maybe except for Myers but licensed killers aren't canon anyways I suppose) have emotional backgrounds of some sort.

The thing about No0b3 is he's only "toxic", he's not actually a toxic person. He teabags and clicks flashlights and everything, but it's all in good fun and he's never trying to actually hurt anyone the way these people do.

I wouldn't even call him (noob3) toxic to be honest. While he does tbag and click once in a while he's never acted like an ass post game as far as I know.

Therefore he just does it to mess with the killer's focus which is just a legit strategy.

It's people like those described in this thread (insulting post game, rubbing the win in the killer's face etc) that I would call toxic as it serves absolutely no purpose other than making a complete stranger feel bad despite allowing these toxic people to play the game in the first place.
