I actually don't know when he changed his mind, I think it's a more recent thing.
Any idea when he's gonna do the full day of Bubba?

Better late than never.
I remember he used to say Bubba was weak himself. When did he change his mind? Since Nemesis/PWYF became a thing?
-
Took him long enough to understand how to play Bubba.
-
Spirit Fury becomes a wasted perk slot against smart SWF with voice coms. Tried the combo a week ago. I got stunned one single time at the start of the match and due to Enduring they ALL knew what I was up to and dropped the pallets a little earlier/JUST out of stun range for the rest of the match denying my Spirit Fury. It's only fun when people fall for it. Way too much of a risk for too little reward.
-
The loadout screen is currently bugged. As a result you may see:
1) wrong killer powers
2) killers with no perks
3) survivors with no perks
4) wrong killer addons
etc.
-
DS = sometimes you literally forget you hooked a specific survivor and get 59 second DS'd which robs your momentum even though you potentially hooked OTHER survivors in the meantime.
BT = some survivors literally use it to defend the unhooker by bodyblocking the killer basically forcing the killer to tunnel and eat the ds.
Unbreakable = can literally reset the entire match if all 4 survivors play recklessly and end up getting slugged. One single perk out of 4 survivors can reset the entire match.
NOTE: NONE OF THE ABOVE REFLECTS MY PERSONAL OPINION IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER BUT THESE ARE MOST LIKELY WHY SOME KILLERS HATE THESE PERKS WITH A PASSION.
-
It's a one time use perk that you only get to activate if the survivors successfully repair all generators. That's why.
-
Bubba will always be S-tier... In my heart.
Realistically however his ability requires survivors to mess up A LOT. If people loop like korean-100000hour-streamers you will be lucky to get 1 hook before 4 gens pop. I had 5 gen chases against red rank Bubbas myself and also beat Nemesis/PWYF Bubbas by dropping pallets JUST out of stun range to deny it just like Spirit Fury.
Pyramid Head (another A tier according to you) requires good anticipation, power faking and aim. If you as a killer meet these requirements all survivors that get chased WILL get hit no matter how good they are at looping.
See the difference? One power has the highest lethality in the game BUT doesn't do ANYTHING as long as survivors know how to loop (and deny Nemesis or Spirit Fury) while the other power just works against any survivor EVEN WITHOUT PERKS as long as you're good with the killer (Pyramid Head).
I get 1-2 minute 4ks as Bubba pretty often even against red ranks but that's not because I spent most of my 4000 hours playing Bubba but because of all the mistakes people do.
Yesterday a Meg literally REFUSED to stun me with a pallet that was next to a hooked survivor. Guess what happened.
I didn't respect the pallet and instadowned her. Ran back to the hook and downed the survivor who was going to unhook. Saw the 4th survivor while downing the guy that wanted to unhook. 4th survivor didn't want to drop pallets either. I didn't respect the pallet again and... Got a 4k in 1.5 minutes against red/purple rank SWF (at least 2 of them had clan tags) at 5 gens.
Does that mean Bubba is a beast or does it mean they messed up A LOT? Think about it for a minute.
-
Rank means NOTHING in terms of difficulty. I could literally name rank 1 (yes, not even 2) survivors who don't even look behind them in a chase and have no idea how to loop. They just get rank 1 by cleansing totems, unhooking others, healing them, holding the repair button etc. Even with ######### chases these people usually pip every game and rank up all the way to rank 1.

This thread shows perfectly that killers just care for themselfs. Disgusting.
It's a PVP game. Of course no one will care about the fun of the enemy. That's literally the point of a PVP game. Beating other players. If you care so much about the well being of other people why don't you start by selling that device you use to keep posting these biased comments so you get some money that you can donate to people in need?
I'm a 50/50 player since 2017 and both sides are equally rude when it comes to fair play and attitude. If you -even for 1 second- believe survivors are gonna be sweethearts and care about your fun if you play the match as fairly as possible then you have CLEARLY never played killer (on a decent rank).

From my experience, a lot of survivors don't appreciate it when you play nice (no camp, no tunnel, no mori, no NOED, no what else is on the hate list...).
As a thank-you for thinking of their fun, you get t-bagged at the exit gates and insulted in the after game chat.
So just play how you want.
Pretty much this.
Killers should always try their best to win. For every grateful survivor there are at least 1000 toxic kids who are waiting for a chance to act like big shots because they won against a "fair killer".
Besides it's not the killer's mission to be vincible - it's the survivor's mission to FIND A WAY to beat the killer.

Heard that the inability to view profiles recently was a bug.
But yeah, you can tell who's a SWF anyway just by looking at the ranks generally. All those 1, 2, 2, 18 groups that you get as a newbie killer are pretty obvious.
(Funny, because I'm watching a stream right now with a SWF doing that while they all trash talk the "idiots" and "morons" and "stupid killers" they're facing. Yeah, bravo, great job beating those rank 18's.)
It wouldn't even be something special if those killers were rank 1 instead of 18 (referring to your example) as SWF is just plain broken compared to a bunch of uncoordinated solos anyways.

Those perks aren't even in the same category so what's the point in comparing them? That's like comparing a sandwich to a pillow.

Even if survivors didn't abuse it pausing the timer would change nothing. If an instadown killer wants you dead they will just facecamp all day till you decide to give up on the hook (if the timer was paused).

As killer you get to face rude acting SWF teams and as solo survivor you meet survivors that work with the killer. Good times! Happens every event.

DBD devs aren't even bad - at all. These forums (I consider them part of the game) are solid and moderated respectfully and the game itself -while struggling with bugs like any service game that gets new content continuously- keeps getting fixed and polished. Obviously the game suffers from recurring issues (sounds for instance) but at least the devs work on it and keep us updated (more often than not).
Gearbox (to name a sample for a bad developer) won't even announce news on their own official forums. They've got bugged in-game items and perks (skills) that haven't been working since day 1(!) [referring to Borderlands 3 btw] and are probably never going to get fixed. They (literally) never speak with their own community no matter how often the same questions regarding wishes and fixes are asked.
Their game keeps crashing while you're farming for gear which may take hours so when you finally find it and the game crashes just before you can pick up a legendary item (for example) you want to punch a wall not gonna lie.
I left the Gearbox forums earlier today as they even defended an obvious troll that insulted people for playing games (on a game forum🤔) and considered women "toys". When someone asked why they were defending that kind of attitude on the forums instead of removing offensive comments they replied "send a pm if you have a complaint about the moderation".
Sooooo yeah... DBD as a game is far more polished and moderated more competently even though behaviour is a way smaller company than Gearbox.
-
Honestly I think it shouldn't even be possible to search for a match unless the connection meets a certain minimum requirement. Even if you think your connection "has a good day" you can be laggy as hell from a survivor's point of view when you play killer as hits are still killer-sided so everything looks A LOT different on your screen than on the survivor's end. That's most likely the reason why players disconnect against you.
-
0% to be honest.
If No Mither didn't take up a perk slot I would run it every game because healing is a big waste of time in my book. Everytime killers get totally destroyed it's because people repaired gens even while injured and managed to have at least "ok-ish chases" before going down.
I also noticed it from the survivor side. Since I stopped healing entirely I consistently managed to pump out more generators (pretty quickly as well because I always run Resilience).
The killer can not be EVERYWHERE at the same time so as long as everyone is aggressively on gens at any possible moment survivors WILL win (if they don't go immediately due to being injured all game. Well, Sprint Burst is a thing so really there's always a way to not get downed instantly).

also, the hatch spawns at the beginning of the match, but opens later on. so even if it was randomized, odds are you are bound to see it while playing the game and it's your job to point it out to your team mates in whatever way possible and keep track of it's location.
I don't think the hatch really spawns at the start of the match considering how often it just pops up right next to the last survivor at 5 gens. Do you really think both of them knew it was going to open right there at 5 gens left? That would be a weird coincidence not gonna lie. Personally I think the hatch is programmed to spawn near a client UNLESS it has become visible at 2 gens / 2 survivors, 1 gen / 3 survivors and 0 gens / 4 survivors.
-
What do you expect? It was a Pyramid Head. So far I only got killed by 1 single Pyramid Head. Literally all the others got gen rushed into oblivion even by decent solo survivors. One of them even rage quit when the last gen popped.
- no instadown
- HUGE cooldown even on successful hits with the ranged attack causing overly long chases if people just keep running in a straight line as survivors already have distance if you hit them with proper ranged shots
- no gen defense
- no map pressure
- no stealth
- ok ish tracking IF people step into the barbwire
- barbwire can be easily avoided outside a chase
- very little snowball potential
He is a weak killer in my opinion. Played enough games AS AND AGAINST him by now. I didn't want to accept it at first as I'm a huge fan and was hyped for weeks but he just isn't strong IN MY OPINION.
-
8 meters by default
Black Straps = +0.5m
Wax Doll = +1.0m
Burning Man Painting = +1.5m
Sneaky hits are rarely possible if survivors are alert (or run Spine Chill) since your terror radius is still 24m with MonitorAbuse.

Acting like an arse when you have no real consequences to fear is fun to MOST people even though only few will admit it. It's as simple as that.

A down in half a minute is impressive unless you are playing spirit/nurse or catch someone totally out in the open with an instadown killer or huntress.
"Doesn't run the loop correctly" when you literally cannot vault or drop a pallet in front of the pyramid head while he is holding M2.
The hit going through the pallet has NOTHING to do with save the best for last. STBFL applies after the hit is made; not before. The fact you don't know this makes me question why I am taking the time to explain all this to you.
Gunslinger cannot down people who throw safe pallets. He can only injure. He is also 110% move speed, and that's all his power does for him. Pyramid head gets some of the best parts of his power, as well as a ton of extra information and also the ability to tunnel mori people to death within under a minute.
I have played no other killer in the game where I can routinely be hit by DS from someones first hook when I am going to put them onto their death hook.
It's a case of "git gud". Pyramid head is crazy OP in the hands of a good player. Maybe you are just not one?
Seems like YOU don't know what STBFL does. It reduced the cooldown of the first hit as the streamer was at 6 stacks already. As a result said streamer closed enough distance to get the second hit through the pallet. If it hadn't been for STBFL with 6 stacks that streamer would have had more distance to close so that hit wouldn't have connected through the pallet.
As a result that half minute chase would have gone for another half minute.
A killer who is all about chase power should NEVER have to chase for up to a minute especially if it's a survivor that seemingly plays without an exhaustion perk.
Anyways think what you want. If you think Pyramid Head is fine or even "strong" so be it.
EDIT: As for the skill yada yada. Don't give me that bs. Pyramid Head is easy to play after a few games. Even Bubba requires more practice.
Woow, so difficult!

What else can you do except run in a straight line? He says "checkmate" because if the guy goes into an animation lock, he unleashes the M2 and they take a hit anyways. That's literally a full lobby of red rank survivors he is playing against.
He doesn't cage tunnel either; I am assuming he went over there because of the discordance proc that happened to be nearby. The guy plays super nice in like 95% of his games, to a fault. That's why he is like "should I even kill this guy?" It's just a good demonstration of how you could cage tunnel and someone is dead literally within a minute. Consider you can do that to someone who gets off the hook if you just make a circle of torment around it and force them to run through it as you return to the hook.
That's also him playing without what he considers an optimal build; since he is still leveling him up.
The guy plays pretty godly in most cases and is putting this killer above spirit, and I agree with him from my own experiences.
Anyone who thinks PH is bad just doesn't have the skill to play him. It's that simple.
Again:
- This clip shows nothing impressive. The first down took almost half a minute even though the survivor ran no exhaustion perk, didn't run the loop correctly and dropped the pallet at point blank distance like a rank 20 which resulted in a down.
- the hit went through the pallet because of STBFL with 6 tokens and NOT because of the streamer's "skill".
- The second survivor was afk.
- only 2 gens left and all survivors are still alive despite playing like yellow ranks.
What - is - that - clip - supposed - to - prove?
Yes, Pyramid Head can zone survivors. So can Gunslinger but that doesn't make him a strong killer.

Maybe if the killer is rank 10.
Red rank killers have been using him to devastating effect from what I have experienced. You almost can't do anything in the PH's face. You just drag M2 whenever they are near a vault or pallet and boom, denied. Then you can tunnel them into the floor because cages definitely can't spawn like 20 seconds away or anything.
https://clips.twitch.tv/TsunderePoisedLemurResidentSleeper
Don't believe me? Here's some rank 1 PH gameplay demonstrating how not to be a noob with him.
That clip proves Pyramid Head is weak.
He needed half a minute to down a noob that ran in a straight line and dropped a pallet at point blank distance which obviously resulted in going down (no dead hard, too unlike all survivors I go against) and the second person he downed was afk/not playing. What is that clip supposed to prove? That Pyramid Head can win against bad survivors?
EDIT: Also notice how it's 2 gens left and all 4 survivors are still alive even though he's cage-tunneling survivors.
Also2: He has STBFL with 6 tokens during the first chase which allowed him to get the second hit through the pallet.
Without STBFL the chase would have been even longer.
-
It's a bug that came back with the addition of dedicated servers. On XBOX the bug was gone when they temporarily turned off the dedicated servers. Right now survivors are completely immune to chainsaws as soon as their bodies on the pallet.
EDIT: I reported that bug pretty much a few days after the devs switched to servers but apparently it was completely ignored. Noticed it when a streamer tried to chainsaw a survivor while said survivor was SLOW VAULTING a pallet. Survivor floated for a brief moment and just started running.
-
Pyramid Head can be beaten by running in a straight line.
-
Let me guess: You've just watched @SpaceCoconut latest video.
-
Don't worry no one will play him in a few weeks because he's actually weak. Faking the ability to deny vaults is not enough to beat a decent team and other than that his power is useless. I just beat 3 different Pyramid Heads on red ranks. None of them felt like a threat. Last one even rage quit. Solo queue by the way.
Personally I was planning to replace Bubba with Pyramid Head but after realizing how weak he is against gen aggressive survivors I'll pass.
So I hope you're looking forward to facing even more snowballing Bubba if you're on my platform.
-
People have been using Soul Guard a lot in my games soooo infinite Unbreakable says hello. Also it's a hex after all and we all know what happens to hex perks.

That's not what wallhacking means. Wallhack = hack that allows you to see other clients through walls. If he went through a wall it was one of those collision hackers.

Use his attack while they are vaulting or dropping a pallet
So basically play him like a range-limited Huntress - gotcha!
-
Who would have thought that people will have DIFFERENT opinions on a new killer?! That's clearly witchcraft!
-
He's definitely not overly strong against survivors that do gens effectively instead of hiding, totems, chests, healing etc.
I've been playing him non-stop since his release and despite good zoning, faking the ability and getting good hits through walls I lost against survivors that I usually kill at 5 gens as Bubba (I recognized some teams by their names).
Negatives:
- no instadown
- no mobility
- no gen defense
- huge penalty for missing shots that merely injure/down survivors (if they don't react quick enough or just dead hard through the attack that is)
- no stealth
Pro:
- can POTENTIALLY end chases quickly and cage-tunnel survivors IF they step in the barbwire AND don't get insta-saved on the other side of the map.
-
Well... Can't blame you.
Playing against gen aggressive SWF teams feels like playing a different game sometimes. Even if you get your downs quickly gens fly anyways. Just tried to play an overly fair Pyramid Head match. Longest chase was less than 30 seconds.
I noticed the gens were flying like nothing so at 2 gens I tried to slug using Knock Out. Even though the survivor was slugged in a dead zone he got picked up the moment I left (no Unbreakable). 4 man escape despite quick downs and not even one single 1+min chase.
Last gen popped while I was chasing someone. Person got Adrenaline. I dropped the chase and just opened the gate and wanted to move on to the next game.
They however decided to toy around in the map, open the other gate and waited till the very last EGC second before leaving even though I didn't tunnel, didn't camp and only tried to slug 1 single time with Knock Out which was pointless as they were on voice coms.
Got BM'd via vault spam and received a party inv where all 4 survivors were in. Everyone was acting childish as hell.
I ended up playing Bubba for the rest of the day.
-
I've already seen a few survivors do this. It's crazy how fast people find counters all the time. Kinda sucks as Pyramid Head, though.

I currently like watching JRM for survivor gameplay as he just doesn't take the game too seriously despite the fact he's pretty good. He knows just about every juke and loop but doesn't act like a god about it and due to goofing around he eventually dies most of the time. I just like that guy's humor, overall behaviour and his ridiculous editing style.
For killer gameplay my favourite is still Otz and HybridPanda because both of them are wholesome persons. Also Otz really shines when it comes to smart builds/build diversity and general ideas and Hybrid is just so chill about the game it makes me forget about the toxicity sometimes.

I am pretty sure that's how it works, that's how the tests I watched all seemed to work. It travels 8 meters in whatever time, each section filling up in .03 seconds or something ridiculously small... if you add 1.5 meters then each segment is SLIGHTLY longer but fills up in .03 seconds still. If anything this makes it harder to dodge but again that is IF i understand the tests correctly. For me nothing else looks exciting so I may as well extend the reach
Aaaah ok I get it. The damage duration of the damage wave is 0.6 seconds (+0.3 seconds of warning duration). The damage duration is fixed so if the range is extended by addons the result is an increase of the wave speed as the range still has to be covered in 0.6 seconds as dictated by the attack mechanic. If that's how it works I will definitely stick to range addons.
-
@johnmwarner said:

More distance makes the animation move faster so it doesn't get easier to dodge
If that's the case I will probably try and get as many wax doll addons as possible. Seems to be somewhat realistic for consistent use. Maybe Wax Doll and Black Straps? Nothing too crazy but potentially useful if it really makes the damage-wave travel faster.
-
Honestly I probably won't bother with his addons too much considering they don't seem to be all that strong. His range addons increase the range by 0.5m (brown), 1.0m (yellow) and 1.5m (green). Might as well play without them given the fact it's easier to dodge the ranged attack the more distance you have.
