How is he the one ruining the game when the survivors he describes actively try to ruin his experience by not doing their objective?

If they did add a killer with a flamethrower it would be cool if it would be Harbinger from Evil Within 2.
Actually, I was thinking of Harbinger because we had a thread about flamethrower killers ages ago and people started talking about The Evil Within haha. That would be hella nice.
A very slow flamethrower killer a poweful area-of-effect flamethrower attack. Would be difficult to balance it but it wouldn't be impossible.

The fps drops would be more lethal than the attack hahaha. Not sure why I'm even laughing since I'm on XB1. Game would run at a solid 5 fps 😂

I'm hoping for more instadown killers. Maybe one with a flamethrower. 🤔

It's not black and white, you know. Usually people don't start match planning to bloodlust someone and camp him then, they decide to camp when realize that chasing is hard for them. So I expect a camping shitshow when people who struggled already will be pushed to don't even try to go for hard chases.
The way I see it people who bloodlust and camp will feel more stressed out than before. As a result they will either try and actually work on their chases or they will drop the game completely after a few hard-camp matches.
We will just have to wait and see. Personally I'm fairly sure I don't need bloodlust these days. Most crazy loops are gone and many killer powers are strong enough to get quick downs.
On top of that the removal of bloodlust allows the devs to potentially buff weaker killers because a Spirit will not suffer from the removal of bloodlust as opposed to Wraith for example.
-
@Bumbus said:
Keep calm and prepare to camping.
Bloodlusting killers always camp anyways so might as well make it harder for them to get their well deserved 1k.
-
@CashelP14 said:
I'll play killer because this change will make very little/no difference at all to my gameplay.
I have no reason to tunnel someone with bloodlust 3.
Same here.
I rarely even get bloodlust as using M2 attacks, breaking pallets, getting successful hits etc resets bloodlust anyways so basically I've always played without bloodlust.
People will (probably) never find the bloodlust icon in any of my clips.
Bloodlust really is outdated at this point - I think. Obviously I could be wrong and maybe I'm gonna get looped for days this weekend but something tells me things will feel pretty normally.

Most of those issues can be fixed with perks. So it really comes down to what their ability can do.
Bubba can with little investment instantly down someone on demand at any time. The "punishment" from missed attacks are negligible at most and easily avoidable now that you can manually extend the duration of his attack. Then there's the manner of how he can easily prevent all manner of rescue for his tagged victims who he can now just hit with his M1.
Keep being the victim killer.
Honestly think what you want. Every decent player manages to loop Bubba for a while. If you can't do it it's a YOU problem. End of the story.
-
Maybe that means Beast Of Prey will finally get the buff it deserves by giving you Undetectable while a chase is active! Yeah no I'm not serious but I'd actually give it a shot if the perk did that.
Pretend to chase someone then quickly walk to a near-by gen... Hmm... 🤔 Yeah... That could be something.
-
I'm looking forward to playing some matches without bloodlust-fps-drops.

But to be fair, his chase potential was buffed tremendiously, as he can swing around shorter loops with ease now. I wouldn't necessarily put all the blame on the survivor for getting instadowned, bubba can do some plays now as well. Apart form that, I totally agree with you, don't get me wrong ^^.
That's correct. I'm not going to deny that he's pretty good at 1 v 1 chases now even against decent players since his maximum range allows to anti-loop small loops (if you can time the charges perfectly while steering around loops tightly without bumping into anything that is) but since it's literally all he's got in his base kit he's totally fine in my book - especially vanilla.

Thank you for this completely useless quote. Am i supposed to glean something from this? Good survivors don't ever go down and will never lose so nothing you do matters. Just drop the controls on the floor and play with your feet. That's how little a mechanic that skips a step fares against the almighty survivor.
Ah yes - because "he can down people easily" is a much more useful statement than mine.
It's quite simply the bitter reality that no good survivor complains about Bubba as he can not ignore mechanics as opposed to stronger killers like Nurse, Spirit, Pyramid Head etc.
He can be looped, he has no map pressure, no stealth, no gen defense, no tracking etc.
He literally has nothing in his kit except for the chainsaw and whiny no skill survivors would even take that from him if they could.
No, you don't get to complain about a loopable killer that can only instadown you when you mess up. Simple as.

Devo 87 on a rank 20 and you complaining about smurfs lmfao you trolling? New killer or not if you wanted to play killer bp shoulda been invested in both survivors and killers. Then there really wouldn't be a need to whine as you would have good perks. The attention bait was hard real on this, people only get better with experience soooo stop playing? Or learn? Dunno
It's devotion 0. Learn how to read.
Besides I'm not complaining about anything smart man. I'm merely saying matchmaking and ranks make no sense as rank 20 matches are exactly the same as rank 1 matches.
Try again.
EDIT: Can you even read at all? I literally said I would login in my gf's profile as she's on rank 20 just to show everyone that rank 20 is the same as red ranks in terms of the survivors you get.
I NEVER claimed to be a new player and NEVER whined about ANYTHING. Learn how to read. You're embarrassing yourself.
-
If you're sitting in queue for several minutes matchmaking will typically throw you in a lobby with every-rank survivor even if you're red rank.
Another indicator for a "new-ish player lobby" is default skins as displayed in the screenshot.
As for toxic killers... Well... That guy is probably new despite his rank 3 and gets stressed out the second Tinkerer triggers a single time.
Try not to worry about these kind of people. There's plenty of overly salty and toxic people on both sides. You know that.
Try to focus on the people that are/were fun to play with/against.

Tenacity is in the shrine of secrets this week by the way.
Get it now and enjoy +50% crawling speed and the ability to recover while crawling. Turn into a super-slug and make killers envy your will to survive.

Update on the "rank 20 4-man smurf SWF myth/boogeyman":
Logged into my gf's profile that's on rank 20 to show you how "rare" the boogeyman is.
Took me literally 1 single match to find the "boogeyman":
4 man SWF (all of them quickswitched at the same time) with 1 key, 1 map, 2 flashlights, 1 map offering.
All of them ran meta-ish builds, looped, tbagged, bodyblocked the hook, took hits for each other.
https://youtu.be/TZ8L_2B0XaUTheir ranks were 19, yellow and green. Can upload the post game screen as well if someone doubts it.
So yeah... Smurfing SWF teams are not rare at all.
New killers have to deal with exactly the same things as red rank killers making matchmaking as a whole pointless.
-
@gibblywibblywoo said:
I mean, dunno when the last time you were in rank 16+ but new killers have absolute control over new survivors. I had to restart when I started on PC and it was the dullest experience of my life as the survivors have no good perks. Don't know what looping is. And actively hide over doing gens.
And wow the SWF boogyman myth is spreading further. Now people are purchasing new copies of the game just to troll? Nan. Don't think so. Never saw it and that sounds absurd.
Maybe it's a region thing but smurfing SWF teams are really nothing rare.
If I record 5 matches now using a new profile I guarantee you (especially during this time of the day) that I will find some smurfing teams instead of legit rank 20 survivors.
You know what. Give me an hour. I will play on a new profile and record some matches real quick.
BRB.
-
Even if matchmaking didn't go crazy sometimes it wouldn't make any difference. Rank 20 killer matches are the same as red rank killer matches due to the high number of smurfing SWF squads.

No they were definitely healing, I think it's mostly just they weren't the finest at trying to juke the hit so it led to some fairly easy double punishment hits.
Feel free to post the match if you want to. I enjoy some good Punishment Of The Damned matches.
The most satisfying hit I've had so far was this:

Hello again, it's me.
I know this thread is kinda dead but I just had a fantastic match with Pyramid and thought I'd calculate the average of the chases I committed to.
Just to show how oppressive and powerful Pyramid Head can be on a good day.
I doubt anyone's gonna see this but hey, why not?
1) 5 sec
2) 6 sec
3) 7 sec
4) 19 sec
5) 29 sec
6) 16 sec
7) 8 sec
8) 10 sec
9) 5 sec
10) 33 sec
Avg chase duration: 13.8 seconds
If anyone ends up seeing this and wants to see the video, ask and you shall receive.
Those are some extremely quick chases. Were they trying to play the match injured?
-
I'm going to be completely honest... That thread is way too long considering the simple message.
"I'm playing an intense, fast paced competitive game and then suddenly I might as well be staring at a windows 95 screensaver."
This one made me laugh, though.
Anyways many people dislike getting slugged.
That's why I usually bring Tenacity. Not only can you recover while crawling around but you can crawl 50% faster, too.
Crawling around quickly while recovering allows you to do some plays:
- You can crawl to a loop if you got slugged in a deadzone. As a result the risk of getting slugged again is reduced dramatically.
- If you're the last 2 survivors and the other survivor gets chased you can "chase them both" and try to position yourself so your teammate can get you up after vaulting a window for example.
- you can generally crawl to your teammates throughout the match and recover making the way to your position shorter. As a result you can get picked up more quickly allowing your team to spend those saved seconds healing you or getting back to nearly finished gens.
Long story short: Try Tenacity. It makes getting slugged interesting to some degree.
-
That's why server-sided hits need to be optimized and re-implemented as soon as possible.

Man I can only dream of how good DbD would be if they managed to balance and overhaul the game so well to the point where slowdown perks could be nerfed into the ground and were no longer needed. Would improve killer gameplay so much more if that were the case.
It's asking for a lot but I can dream, damnit :(
Same. I'm sure many people would consider DBD a lot more enjoyable if matches were more consistent due to well designed mechanics.

It looks like your chainsaw only hit the Kate’s hitbox, and since she had invincibility frames while stuck in the unhook animation it did nothing. And when a survivor is unhooking their hitbox is actually a bit behind where they’re standing since they kind of lean forwards, but their hitbox doesn’t - so if you’d aimed a little more to the left you would have caught David as he unhooked.
Kind of silly, but that’s how it works. Whenever I aim for an unhooking survivor now I always aim behind them and I pretty much always hit them. A lot of killer players don’t know this and inadvertently hit the guy being unhooked.
Thanks for letting me know. I will keep that in mind next time I encounter a hook diver.

is bloodust disabled upon a successful hit? if it is not, I reckon that's the balanced solution
Bloodlust gets disabled/reset after/when:
- getting a successful hit
- breaking a pallet
- using killer powers that count as an attack
- the chase mechanic stops due to high distance to the survivor or no line of sight for around 7 seconds (i.e. at point blank distance through walls)
-
Bloodlust should quite simply get removed.

I am not, rather unfortunately. My German's still pretty ######### but if it wasn't for corona I'd still be learning it and slowly getting better so, thanks rona. One more thing you messed up for me :)
Honestly if I could like... Forget my native language (german) but got the ability to speak english flawlessly like an englishman in return I'd yell "deal!" in a heart beat anytime of the week. 100 % agree. I have so many survivors called me camper tunneller when they tried to unhook when i am still around.
It's a shame when BT and DS can save their asses in these situations where they make a grave mistake of unhooking when killer is nearby.
They don't even need BT or DS with how hitboxes decide to just disappear sometimes when they decide to hook-dive:
https://youtu.be/inCH5cCrQBcYou can tell I noticed David chasing me to the hook. That's why I instantly charged up the chainsaw after the hook animation yet it quite literally did NOTHING to him OR the unhooked survivor.
-
Hit validation is not enabled at this moment.
EDIT: That hit was bs. I feel like dropping a pallet pulls your survivor's hitbox back which is why I often don't even bother dropping them at all.

No... Just no.

I dont mind it being scrapped, I dont think it is needed. And the Devs thought so as well before they came up with that during a Livestream.
Thing is, if they implement that, I hope they nerf a bunch of stuff on the Killers side. While it is true that weaker Killers like Trapper or Clown (if we ignore that he is next up on the list for a Rework) can benefit from it, the same goes for Freddy, Spirit and other really strong Killers. So those should be nerfed in return.
And well, stuff like Ruin/Undying should also not be ok at this point.
Of course all depending what exactly they come up with.
Let's say they:
- removed all slowdown perks
- and replaced them with a fixed Early Game mechanic
- while also buffing weaker killers and nerfing overly strong killers to make all of them more equal in power
- and made it mechanically impossible to camp/tunnel DURING the early game phase making it impossible to turn the match into an easy 3 v 1 match
Would you consider that a well designed early game? Just curious
-
They already said they're going to code Dead Hard from the ground up. It'll probably cancel hits if said hit connects during a specific timeframe of using Dead Hard resulting in blood splatter with no loss of a health state or something like that.
-
I suppose the Early Game thing is not going to happen as long as we got slowdown builds like Ruin/Undying and Corrupt/Pop/BBQ unless all the slowdown stuff got reworked or nerfed into oblivion.

1. Everybody is on red ranks. Red ranks means you play the game more than 1 hour. It really isn’t a personal achievement to be red rank. I know your standards -are- that low but really, looping rank 20 killers isn’t a big thing.
I once played together with a Meg. Let’s call her Busibusi. Well, Busibusi spent all match crouching in a corner and made 12k escaping at the end of the match.
Busibusi was rank 1.
There are a lot of people who, just like you, shouldn’t be rank 1.
Say it with me : Keeping trash killers who get stuck on tires and respect pallets busy for a while doesn’t mean I can do anything against a player who actually knows what they’re doing. Thus your point is invalid and proves nothing.
Have a bit of decency. Don’t be a Busibusi.
You're obviously not a red rank player and if you are you don't belong there. Decent red rank survivors don't complain about killers that can't ignore basic mechanics like pallets and windows.

Playing perfectly = not respecting every single pallet and getting stuck on a fresh breeze of air.
Your standards might be a bit too low. I suggest you try to take your David to rank 15 as a personally challenge next.
Well I'm on red ranks unlike you, the clip shows it as well and I never struggle against any particular killer so yeah maybe you should blame yourself if you get downed quickly all the time?

Nice pointless demonstration on how to loop a trash Bubba who never plays Bubba. He gets stuck on the easiest smoothest loops like the pile of cars. He respects pallets. He steps back when starting to rev the chainsaw.
Will you show me how you “loop a 20 hours wraith for 3 minutes” next?
Get out of here.
So a Bubba that plays perfectly shouldn't catch you! Gotcha! You got an interesting idea of balance!
Oh by the way the first Bubba didn't get stuck on the cars. The crane hitbox was what made him go into tantrum and it is INCREDIBLY easy to run into that invisible hitbox which is something you would know if YOU had ever played ANY killer on that loop.
That crane hitbox has been like that for several patches now so that tells me you literally don't play killer - AT ALL.

I'm sorry, that means nothing. A good leatherface is barely going to crash into things during the loops, and will be going around the loops fast enough they are going to notice you magically disappeared at the corner. I used to use the muffler but after some practice I can go around almost any loop in DBD without crashing.
Purple chili leatherface can go around almost every loop in the game I believe. The only counter is windows and you can bamboozle them.
This is like holding up someone doing a window tech (which literally never works on me) as a counter to a killer. All you can do is feed him pallets (and fast), and if you run out of pallets you are done.
I do purple chili + primer bulb and I think that's his best combo for general use.
If you made up your mind I'm not going to waste my time.

Pretty much this.
It’s thrilling isn’t it. Another killer against which your input doesn’t matter.
Leatherface can still be looped and corner-teched so your input obviously does matter.
You can't expect to win if you have no idea how the game works.
Almost 3 minute chase and 4 man escape SOLO QUEUE at red ranks:
https://youtu.be/eDWYzM8KBcMCorner-teching Leatherfaces even in the open field:
https://youtu.be/xmvEIiYm47wLeatherface is literally a killer that only catches you quickly if the Leatherface-player is better at the game than the survivor he faces.
If you go down quickly all the time it's a YOU problem. Leatherface is mechanically fair and balanced.

Why are you acting so aggressive and defensive?
I didn't mean to sound aggressive.
I just can't stand when people act like streamers came up with ideas, builds etc. when there are like thousands of people trying/using the same ideas/builds (often before them) as it sounds like you're trying to say people are not smart enough to figure out stuff themselves and need the "wisdom" of a streamer.

- 24 seconds (3rd match of @GoodBoyKaru)
- 24 seconds (if we ignore Feng's 2 minute chase during the late game)

2nd game I get frustrated at Badham being a ######### map for PH and his power. Pretty obvious that I'm getting annoyed but, ah well, the other two games go substantially better (thanks Feng).
Stats of the 2nd match:
You couldn't commit to all chases as you had to defend gens and some people managed to win their chases (I can tell why you hate the map as PH) so here are the stats of the chases you won.
Total number of won chases: 7
1) 13 sec
2) 5 sec
3) 22 sec
4) 28 sec
5) 40 sec
6) 28 sec
7) 60 sec
Avg chase duration: 28 sec despite the bad map (for PH)
EDIT:
I don't want to bump my thread so I'll post the stats of the 3rd match here.
You commited to / won a total of 10 chases.
1) 23 sec
2) 27 sec
3) 4 sec (injured survivor ran into you)
4) 17 sec
5) 1 sec (another injured survivor ran into you)
6) 40 sec
7) 67 sec (Ace put up a fight on death hook)
8) 16 sec
9) 10 sec
10) 31 sec
Avg chase duration: 24 sec
