or unless every single match u have 3 team mates who cant loop or unhook or repair gens xD , sooooo survivor sided then right my guy? XD

Are you trying to say survivors should win even if they refuse to repair gens and can't loop, unhook etc ? It's a PVP game - you know that right?

No one would ever play killer again if killers were balanced around AFK survivors.

yeah I've had multiple objects 1 in every 4 games recently, thought it was just my luck but maybe there has been an increase

Same here. I usually look around for a few seconds at the start of a match now as I'm starting to get used to Object users.

  • There's like a million Object users lately so I guess some killers are getting annoyed of them slowly but surely so a few will just throw the game to let them bleed out - I guess?

No, it falls down to individual skill levels. Even looping for 10-15 seconds is crippling to a killer going for the 12 hook game. There is so much safety on the majority of the maps it is disgusting. Unless you are playing someone who just ignores it all.

I'm half wasted and still dunking on kids using absolutely nothing. Literally "man with knife". And there are still rage disconnects.

People really don't pay attention to anything whilst playing survivor, do they?

When I started playing this, it was almost impossible to play as killer. You had to wait more than 10 minutes some times, because everybody wanted to play as killer. As survivor you used to find a match just as quick as it is to killers today. Don't come saying "playing killer just isn't for everyone", because everybody here plays as killer too. Less now because it's really #########. And btw, I'm red rank as killer too, not that hard as you seem to think.

I don't remember a time where queues were even similar. I've always had quicker killer queues than survivor queues so I can't tell what you're on about. Also getting a new profile to red ranks in 2 days using a killer you aren't familiar with - without being a full time streamer - is not as easy as you make it out to be.

And I stand by what I said: Playing killer is not for everyone. I know so many people who openly admit it's too stressful so they stick to playing survivor. Not sure why you're trying to deny that this is a major aspect that contributes to the fact there's more survivors than killers.

  • I and many others enjoy playing killer. In fact, I enjoy it enough to make my own challenges.

Decided to take a 2nd profile to red ranks as killer 2 days ago using a killer other than my main (which means something as I've pretty much exclusively played Bubba since his release years ago) and just hit red ranks. Feels interesting to have two red rank killer profiles.

Anyways playing killer will always be stressful for the majority of players due to the fact you're on your own and have to outplay 4 real human beings (although some people act like bots at times).

Therefore we will always have more survivors than killers no matter how much you nerf/buff one particular side. Playing killer just isn't for everyone. Simple as.

  • Well, looks like they are evolving.

Them hackers are probably gonna add a new survivor objective at some point before the devs.

  • @monstermaster42 said:

    Weak killers make me sad

You obviously don't need to slug/camp/tunnel/3-gen etc. - on rank 20.

  • One buff solo survivors seemingly need is a reminder to do gens outside of chases.

Everytime I play survivor I see other survivors running around doing nothing. In fact I often repair a gen next to other survivors who will just walk past me as if they were checking out the map.

And no, they won't ignore me to do another gen. I notice that as I usually finish my gen, then repair the next gen up to 50% and other gens STILL won't pop in the meantime. Some people straight up ignore the objective as survivor.

Maybe AFK crows should pop up when you haven't touched a gen for 2 minutes (the timer should obviously reset when you get in a chase). That way people couldn't just urban evade around the map doing nothing all game.

What arabian hillbilly main? Sounds like a person I'd like to watch!

Apparently he's streaming on a new account with the name "M7MDAX_". Right now he's playing SWF, though. He usually starts and ends his streams with a few curve-Billy matches. Definitely worth watching.

EDIT: @The_high_ground here's some of his clipped curves. He's really incredible as Hillbilly.

And yeah I really dislike going against scaredy cats, too.

  • Going for 12 legit, separate chases without tunneling/camping/slugging is not the most effective way to win the game and thus doesn't give you the feel of control since all 4 survivors will be alive at 1 remaining gen even if you get every single down quickly.

That's why killers camp, tunnel, slug, 3-gen etc.

Being in control of something reduces stress. Less stress = more fun.

Therefore tunneling someone out of the match early = getting control over the match quickly = less stress while playing the match = more fun.

It's not fun for survivors but I understand why killers be like that.

  • Literally every status effect makes my game freeze for up to 2 full seconds.

If I play survivor I even get stutters when someone ELSE gets a status effect. I usually know the killer has Sloppy Butcher because of that. OR if someone healthy gets chased and the fps drop I immediately know my teammate must have had Sprint Burst.

The fps drops basically tell you what's happening in the game at this point lol.

What I do as jane is I typically run boil over, flip flop, tenacity and boil over. If its freddy map and the basement isn't in the school, I make that my safe spot. It's nearly impossible to get me out of there. It can be done, killers just have to work for it.

So we agree on the first few things. But my question is do you have any idea how to rebalance solo queue? Its very frustrating to play and lose bp over bad teammates. I think there should be a new ranking system with higher ranks. Bad players would have a harder time ranking up. This is mostly to decrease trash players flooding red ranks.

If I remember correctly the devs made it so you're getting emblems for cleansing totems. That should not be a thing. People who get downed in seconds cheese emblems by cleansing totems.

Altruism should have less weight in terms of pipping, too.

Pipping as survivor should mostly depend on how much you contributed to gen progress AND your chases - at least on red/purple ranks.

Some people may say "but then everyone will drop every pallet during their first chase to cheese the emblems".

My counter-argument is: People already do drop every pallet during their first 10-20 second chase without looping anything because red ranks is full of survivors who never heard about the looping.

There's a galaxy of a difference between you (Azame) and the typical red rank survivor. That should NOT be a thing.

ALL (or at least the majority of) red rank should have your skill level in terms of running the killer otherwise there's literally no difference between red ranks and yellow ranks.

Every toast can cleanse totems and unhook/heal teammates.

People that are allergic to gens, hide all match and get caught by the killer in 10-20 seconds do NOT belong to red ranks / purple ranks.

    On a side note:

There's that arabian Hillbilly main. He is INCREDIBLE. He's spent more than 2k hours mastering curving. Even after Hillbilly's rework he's still exclusively playing curve-Billy.

He usually catches red rank survivors in 5-15 seconds (I like to measure chases so these are real numbers).

Today his first match was against ACID (a tournament level team).

He got his first hook at 1 remaining generator on Rotten Fields. He ended up getting 1 kill because one of them decided to stand behind the rock wall in the exit gate instead of just leaving.

A difference THIS big between red rank survivors should not be possible, don't you agree?

EDIT: I'm watching Puppers right now and he just 4k'd as red rank No Blink Nurse on Ormond.

I just had to add that to the comment since I was talking about how chase performance should be more important when it comes to pipping as survivor. Red rank survivors should not even get injured by No Blink Nurse. Instead they got 4k'd AND he 2- or 3 hooked them, too.

TLDR: No emblems for totems, less or no emblems for altruism (bloodpoints only), more emblems for doing gens and long chases. Perhaps that could fix solo queue in the long run. Maybe rank reset should throw you 2 rank colors back, too so red rank players really have to play A LOT to keep the red rank.

  • @BioX said:

Its not necessary at all....... git gut

    Way to generalize.

Slugging can be necessary depending on:

    - the killer you play

    - your build

    - the map

    - the survivors you face

    - their builds

    - their items

    - rng

    etc.

Play Wraith on Haddonfield (with god basement-window rng) with no slowdown against 4 good loopers (with Balanced Landing) that work on gens even while injured and 4 brand new parts. See how the match goes without slugging.

That's obviously an exaggerated scenario but you get the point.

  • It means that you play regularly. That's about it really.

  • Personally I think the game is in a fairly balanced state at this moment. Both sides can dominate each other depending on skill level, tactics, builds, maps, items etc.

As for the og stuff I hardly remember complaining about anything back then even though some situations were straight up bs.

I remember old DS (for instance) and the hatch OR the open gate. I downed the obsession near hatch OR open gate (had both situations a million times back then) and literally HAD TO watch them crawl to the hatch/gate because no hooks were near enough for DS-dribbling, obsession DS was active all game and the hatch couldn't be closed.

Even in those situations I never said anything negative regarding balance which isn't a good thing.

I literally ignored serious balance issues because I just enjoyed killer gameplay so much because it was something all new in terms of gaming.

Anyways the game has come a long way and its current state is where it should be balance wise (minus the dead zones but a new map formula is supposed to fix that anyways).

Solo queue may be a pain most of the time but that's not a balance issue - it's more of a "most survivors don't understand anything about the game"-issue if we're completely honest.

If ranking up as survivor was more dependant on your chases rather than farming altruism then you'd get WAY better games as solo.

I see ridiculously bad survivor decisions and 10 second chases literally every - single - solo survivor match. If you run Bond things become even more annoying.

Just saying, it's way easier to rank up as Survivor. She could have more hours in Killer, considering it is more difficult to rank them up.

I could sleep and get to Red ranks as Survivor. In fact, I've done it twice. With no perks.

It isn't really difficult to rank up as killer "per se". Some killers get robbed of emblems (Bubba, Billy, Plague etc) making pipping ridiculous at times but Spirit? She pips easily - especially at beginner ranks.

No offence but... Your killer rank is green/yellow and it's 2 days before rank reset. Your survivor rank is red/purple judging by your streams that you just tried to advertise for.

You're clearly a survivor main (which is no big deal. Just wondering why you're pretending to be a killer main).

The video you posted, does not show the killer "stuttering around". So given the video we have access to, its more likely that the other Claudette had a bad connection.

    This.

  • Elevations counter Pyramid Head's power.

Other than that just hold W and pump out gens while he's out there punishing those that try to loop him like a M1 killer.

  • Mechanically Pyramid Head is the most complex killer out of these 3. He has the highest skill ceiling amongst these 3 killers, too. (imo)

Oni has the strongest comeback-potential. His instadown is incredibly strong.

Clown has good perks and will probably be a 1 v 1 chase focused beast after his upcoming rework.

  • Twins aren't weak at all. I'm currently watching a small german streamer who's been playing the Twins a lot since the PTB / their release.

Yesterday he faced an obvious 4 man SWF (all 4 tried to take aggro all the time and took hits for each other. That never happens in solo queue).

Also they ran similar builds and brought brand new part, 2 purple flashlights and bottled time. Literally no solo queue looks like that.

All of them were rank 1/2, too.

He got the 4k at 2 remaining gens and got 10 hooks @ swamp.

Yeah I know one match doesn't prove anything but I take it as an indicator for what the killer is capable of.

  • If the whole team (including yourself) is injured one can just hop in a locker to prevent 4-man-slugs because

    Victor can now either:

    1) leave the locker - allowing you to heal up (Inner Strength might come in handy) and get back on the gens

    or

    2) block the locker - allowing your team to heal up and get back on the gens as Victor blocks the locker for 10 seconds forcing Charlotte to go to said locker immediately.

Getting hooked is better than getting the entire team (including yourself) slugged.

  • Victor's "pounce" is not a basic attack so it isn't supposed to apply or work with status effects including exposed.

  • I insist.

    Untitled Image

  • Have you tried the new Slippery Meat + Up The Ante + luck offering? Or Deliverance?

Kindred rarely does anything for me in terms of (good) unhooks. If people are potatoes you can give them all the information in the world and they will just straight up ignore every information you're providing.

That is a huge generalizing on survivors. I seriously hope this is sarcasm. If I were to say the same ######### just reversed to killers I would get hate.

I thought the sarcasm would be obvious due to the "steps"

  • Step 1: Miss a few swings during every chase. This allows them to yell "I 360'd him hahaha the killer is so bad!" and be happy about it.

Step 2: Mindgame yourself on every loop so they can feel like they're god survivors. Let ALL 4 OF THEM loop you into the ground.

Step 3: Down only 1 single survivor towards the end of the game and pretend to facecamp as hard as you can. Also hit the survivor on hook multiple times. This fills their "bully-meter"

Step 4: Totally mess up when they try to rescue by hitting the hooked survivor "accidentely" so they can unhook in your face and rush to the exit gates.

Step 5: Stand still at the gate and let them enjoy their victory by tbagging you for minutes.

CONGRATS! You are now the killer (most) survivors want.

Sounds like you don't have any real argument to why they shouldn't give them that ability...

Trolling teammates in solo queue is not an argument? Ok then.

  • I don't want default Meg to drag me to the killer for the lulz sooooo... No, please no.

  • If you ask a biased survivor main: Wraith. Because he relies on mindgames to get his hits so you can loop him all day if he commits to a chase.

if you ask a biased killer main: Nurse and Spirit. Because they can get you in a matter of seconds and quickly defend that nearly finished generator afterwards due to their mobility when played decently.

In my opinion: All killers that are strong in chase (mechanically) but lack mobility as they dominate the 1 v 1 aspect when played by a competent player while giving the survivors a fair opportunity to escape as the survivor team has a chance to finish the gens due to their lack of mobility.

  • How are killers supposed to know you're a solo player that's looking for a chill match with fun perks?

Killers don't get this information in lobbies so they assume every lobby is a meta-build SWF swat team.

That's why some people slug at 5 gens and tunnel/camp even at the start of the match. They want to gain control as quickly as possible.

  • Personally I think these are some possible nerfs:

    - a movement slowdown when placing snares/fake pallets because he is the only killer in the game who can spam his power during a chase with absolutely no mechanical downside whatsoever.

    - or snares/fake pallets will disappear after a set period of time.

    - or microsleep will take longer.

    - or teleporting will take longer.

  • Mclean said the difference was like 1-2% kill rate. Other than that they didn't say anything about the experiment I think.

  • Doctor is extremely easy to play and provides a lot in his kit making him fairly viable against the vast majority of DBD players. His base kit contains:

    - gen slowdown via madness tier 3.

    - easiest and most reliable tracking in the game via static blast.

    - easy anti loop via shocking.

    - "crazy" skillchecks by default that may make the difference between survivors popping a gen in your face or blowing up the gen.

    - passive tracking via Doctor illusions.

As a result he tends to stomp a lot of players - particularly those that play immersed and mediocre loopers.

  • The Entity feeds off of strong emotions. Modern humans are literal drama queens about everything so the Entity gets a belly full of tasty emotions after every trial.

  • @mintchapstick said:

There's really people in this thread that are trying to say that Freddy isn't overtuned right now? Amazing. It's like they forget that Freddy:

    • Teleports
    • Sets dream snares
    • Distracts survivors from objectives (having to wake up)
    • Is invisible from a distance to awake survivors
    • Sets the oblivious status to sleeping survivors
    • Slows down player actions when they're asleep
    • Has dream pallets.

No other killer has that much random crap, most of it passive so they don't actually have to do anything.

You forgot tracking via blood pools.

  • In case someone wants to see the Clown rework teaser:

    https://youtu.be/LWvm82j3Ek0

  • Small correction about Victor: He runs at 150%

  • Even as a killer I don't want dead zones. It makes me feel like using my power was pointless as I can just walk in a straight line and hit them with absolutely no skill requirement. Powers are supposed to help you catch survivors in interesting ways.

What's the point of a power when there's nothing the survivor can do to escape the chase anyways?
