What annoys me is that I will see killers try to play nice as a survivor at times. Many, many times, the killer could go for me, I'm injured, out in the open, already been hooked once, sometimes twice, and the killer doesn't go for me, they try to go for someone else.

Then they get punished for their generosity, and then the other survivors t-bag or click their flashlights at the exit gates, or complain that the killer had NOED. They literally expect the killer to ignore them, and yet boast when they win.

And then many survivors wonder why many killers slug, camp and/or tunnel now.

    Boggles my mind, it does.

I hate survivors that t-bag. I have rooted for the killer to get teammates that do that and even blocked one once in hopes they got killed. Just win respectfully and if the killer let you actually go then be nice. =)

It buffles me to see some people here arguing that this ######### is normal, ######### this, the game shouldn't require you to run specific perks in order to stop crap like this. No. This is a major issue. While obviously it does not occur that often, it still happens, the game MUSN'T allow this to happen.

If that is the case then there is also killer stuff that happens that should not be allowed. I mean sadly this game is what it will be. It will never be balanced and I am kind of okay with that because no game with PvP ever is. People always yell in favor of one side over the other. If one side wins to much the other side scream its unbalanced until the other side is unhappy. I play the game because every match is different and if I have a few bad games I take a break or just move on and laugh about it. I am sorry you and many others hate or have such a bad experience with this game. I honestly hope someday this game becomes balanced in whatever way the MANY fans demand. =)

Nobody says that bloody thing that killers should win with 5 gens, stop saying ######### like that. We are aware that winning with 5 gens should only happen when we are either lucky as ######### or when we are matched with dorks. No, we don't want that.

It's stuff like this that's not normal, or when they do a gen in 27 seconds cough cough.

If they are doing a gen in 27 seconds that is either because there is more than one survivor or maybe a toolbox or a glitch. I checked times and even with 2 survivors without toolbox's it should take 44-45 seconds. I mean if a gen is taking 27 seconds maybe look into that. I mean popping 3 gens is normal if the killer does not apply pressure or the team is maybe using comms and split up. I mean it happens but it is not very common or at least it is super rare for me to ever see when I am playing killer or even survivor actually. Sorry this happened to this player.

Did he ever say that? Nice strawman.

People like you who make braindead arguments like "oh, the killer has so much pressure even though 3 gens popped."

If it's a swf, one person goes for save, and 2 are on gens.

Why do we, instead of acknowledging the problems with gen speed, defend bad game design?

Why is this persons point or opinion braindead? I mean your only argument at all is the assumption that it MAY or COULD be a SWF team meaning 2 people on gens while 1 saves. I am not saying you are wrong or right but you both have points. =)

To be honest I have learned that not all games are like this ONE video here. I mean I would like to see the entire video. Yes 3 gens were popped and oddly yeah kind of fast but it does not mean the match was lost. I have seen games like this go south fast when I am playing killer because the survivors corner themselves into a horrible spot. I mean this was a pure luck that each survivor not only started in opposite spots but they all knew to do gens. In most my games the survivors are duh and just hide. You are right though IF it is a SWF it could spell disaster for the poor killer. I suggest maybe making gen times to repair 2 minutes each instead of I think 80 seconds currently.

I will say depending one what killer I go against sometimes the gen speed can seem to fast or slow. I have had matches where the killer can move so fast that the gen times are not fast enough or moments where the killer is slow and the gens go to fast. I am a nice person though and will actually let the killer kill me for points because I want to be fair.

First of all, TRUST ME when i say: Pray to god that it stays 2p2 and you dont have to suffer through dedicated servers. I went through both and 2p2 is defintily more survivor friendly then dedicated servers. Having lag sometimes is nothing compared to the stuff we have to go through on pc.

Second, killer is not more difficult but killer is more stressful to play. And i dont think killers have more powerful perks, also survivors have strong perks. Deadhard, Unbreakable, Spine Chill, Iron will, Borrowed time, Decicsive strike, Adrenaline just to name a few.

The game is pretty even especially on console since you dont have to deal with nurse.

May i ask what rank you are and how many hours you have played yet?

I deal with nurse on Console and actually they are pretty good. =)

It also might be your region.

I get a mix here, they're good survivors and just God awful. I usually do the looping while they mindlessly sit on gens.

Rofl I wish they would sit on gens. I have looped no joke for at least 2 minutes not one gen popped. When I got hooked I seen everyone sitting in corners or hiding in lockers. I was like okay and let myself die because I can normally tell how a game is gonna go in the first 3 minutes. I also have the team that when they do jump on a gen they pop it over and over and over. Then they run and vault everything practically screaming we are here kill us!

Oh also the team that also as you are hiding run right to you leaving scratch marks as you were careful to leave none.

I live in NY so I play in that region I guess? lol I guess the American lol

Honestly, with how way things have been going these months...it's the survivors mistakes that give the killer an advantage.

I'm a survivor main now and it's never been easier.

See that is your opinion. I play survivor about 65-70% of the time and I am lucky to get a team that does gens. Unless I do 4 out of 5 gens and also rescue at least 2 people we die. I also play solo que with no comms so that might also be a factor. I find killer more enjoyable recently because teams have been crap. I am not saying you are wrong but just a difference of opinion.

    No one said it's balanced.

It's balanced towards Survivors. Check your Privilege.

It is not balanced more towards one or the other. It depends on the match and the killer and survivor. I have seen killers completely dominate the match and vice versa. Honestly both sides or people that normally main one or the other will always claim the opposite side is more favored. I play both sides and both can be fun and also annoying. It depends on perks and the opposite opponents skill level.

Even without DS, survivors still tend to have the competitive advantage. This is especially the case when on a survivor-sided map and/or a weak killer. DS just makes it even more survivor sided by giving survivors a massive safety net.

Isn't NOED a good counter and a killer safety net? I mean considering the doors are normally pretty close together and I have never had a game where my dang teammates clear totems, it lets the killer 4k easy at the end. I think even Blood Warden can save a game as well. I am not trying to start anything but as much as DS is a safety net killers have safety nets to. It all comes down to you picking to use them or not.

  • I will personally say as someone that plays both sides, survivor and killer, I honestly do not tunnel. I would hate to ruin someone else's experience especially let's say it is maybe their first time to the game and the first lesson is the killer tunnels or camps. I also think it is pointless to tunnel because if you keep chasing that one player the others are doing gens. Let that one run off and they may even waste time trying to heal while you go and butcher others with a smile on your face. =)

I am not saying not to tunnel or camp. Play as however you like but personally I think of it as a toxic way to play just like survivors who t-bag. I want everyone to have a good experience and get points. I have been on the end of a killer who would not leave the area and would not leave me alone. The time it takes for the load to match only to die on a hook with less than 3k points. It ruined my gameday and I took a break for a few days. I know that is my choice but I did not want to take the chance of getting that Player again so I took a break.

Also how often are you as a killer dealing with people on the hatch challenge that it is that big of an issue?

I mean I do not like those challenges because of the reason most people here said. It forces you into being bad for your team. ALTHOUGH YOU CAN ACTUALLY PLAY AND DO GENS THEN ESCAPE. It is just an idea so you do not have to play like a potato. None of these challenges except a few say they all have to be done in a single trial. I am unsure about the fall from grace one but just do it as it happens. Do not go out of your way to make it happen. =)

Okay except for something to be fair typically that would mean theres some sort of counter play or trade off. Neither keys nor moris have any. You can run franklins sure but so what? "Oh no i have to go back to that spot later oh no" keys arent useful in late game so franklins doesnt matter that much for keys. Moris give you a kill for doing a 3rd of the work youre supposed to do to confirm a kill. Also u don't need to be rude.

Red/purple mori's are much easier to use then keys so if anything killers version of the "keys" are easier. One hook and you can now tunnel and kill. You bring in a purple or red key and you have to do sooooo many gens and then hope you can even find the hatch and then hope your team is smart enough to follow you. I will point out you are mad that 1 survivor got out and the game is not built to get constant 4k kills. If it was why would survivors want to play at all.

I personally have had much better luck when using a Purple or Red Mori then I have had a key as a survivor. I almost always get to use my mori's but out of 5 key uses I only escaped maybe once because either my team were potatoes and the hatch never spawned or I got killed and could not find the hatch.

The killer hooked you once, it is fair that he mori's you. Just be thankful you got your points and he got more for killing you.

How do people have thoughts processes like this unironically

Are you mad I said it should be okay that 1 survivor got away? lol

I mean my point was to show the difference about how easy it is to use one over the other but the whole thing about you saying ,"The killer hooked you once, it is fair that he mori's you. Just be thankful you got your points and he got more for killing you." I am fine either way. When I play killer if someone gets out using a key okay good for them. If I play survivor and get killed by a mori also good. I just go onto the next game. You are talking as though I was the one upset. I never once said something was wrong with moris but pointed out that it is easier to use them over keys. Take the anger down a level. Put a smile on and let's hug it out buddy. =)

Ebony mori's are sooooo simple to use you can hook and in most cases after that one hook the killer tunnels and kills.

Keys of the same color take work and time to actually use and you have to hope your team does their part and that you actually find the hatch.

  • @BillyAndStu said:

As someone who plays both roles pretty frequently i genuinely hate the purple and red keys. Can anyone give me one good argument as to how its okay for survivors to just spend bloodpoints for free escapes? The amount of times i will find the hatch and close it only for the last survivor to just open it like it didnt even matter is too damn high. Or the amount of times MULTIPLE survivors can have just after gen rushing. I know moris are basically keys to survivors in the sense its a free kill with no real effort. So why not change them both? The requirement to using both of these mechanics should be increased imo.

    Thoughts??

Ebony moris are super easy to use compared to the same color keys. I understand your situation you described with gen rush and that is just assuming every game will be like that. As someone who plays both sides I have used both Mori and Keys and I can say out of both I always get to use my mori and almost never get to actually use my key. I have used maybe 5 keys and only got to actually use one. Either my team never finishes enough gens or I can't find the hatch. I also noticed you were mad to lose one survivor but not every game should be a 4k kill. Be happy you got your points and that survivor got extra points for surviving. In the end my opinion is Ebony Moris are soooooo much easier and cheaper to use than any equivalent key.

yes i agree with u the thing bothering me tho is my opinion on keys is its like a shortcut and i dont like those the sane thing goes for mori unless its devour hope then id say the killer deserved that mori

I agree almost 100%. The only thing is mori's are easier to use. Well Ebony Mori's but yes I agree if the killer uses Devour Hope and the survivors decided not to do totems and the killer stacks it then its all fair. =)

Thats a lul but recently i do well as killer 2 people alive i patrol hatch and fens and they just sneak around and bam leave the game that is unfun gameplay if they escaped normal good for them but it just feels cheap

Well I mean I can understand it feeling unfair but the fact you already killed 2 of them is good. The game is not really meant to get a full clear. I am also assuming they did at least 4 gens before popping through that hatch. I mean it stinks for you but you all got a good amount of points then as well. I mean when I play killer I actually most the time let at least 1 person escape sometimes 2 because I figure I got my points already. =)

but yeah as long if i lose in a fair manner or by a misstake on my own part and not something out of my reach keys map designs bnp + prove thyself im all good

I don't even have a problem with keys only because how tough it really is to use them. I have only used maybe 4 keys my entire playtime and I was lucky if enough gens got done to make the hatch spawn. Then I was lucky to ever find the hatch and use it. lol I only got to really use my key once and even then only I survived because my teammate wanted to taunt the killer and ran out of time and the hatch closed. lol

Tbh I'm sorry for survivors I decimate too hard but that's really much more ranking's fault then mine. I expect to get good surviors on rank 1 so I play as well as I can as should they. Sometimes I if I wreck them too hard and I feel like game's gonna end too early I'll give them some breathing space and leave the are where I slugged last 2-3.

I agree this rank system is still pretty broken. It is probably weird at rank 1 to still be getting potatoes but I have seen potatoes even in purple ranks because they piggyback on others sadly. lol

I mean, slugging is a viable tactic too. As it definitely gets people off gens. But sometimes no matter what you do the gens will pop. It can depend on the team, the map etc. The screen-cap I posted of my 32K was from yesterday. On that same day I also had a match where I only hooked one person before the gens were done. As I just couldn’t find anybody or pressurise the gens as the map was too big. It just happens sometimes. Have you tried experimenting with killers too? As some of them just don’t work for me. Whereas others like Deathslinger do.

I agree to this comment. There is some killers I just flat out cannot use because I am lucky if I even stab one let alone get a hook. Then there are others that I can get at least 2 or 3 survivors dead and it feels good. It took some time learning this but it can be done. I have learned as a killer the best thing to do is pressure the survivors to pop the gens you want and make them corner themselves. That way the last few gens are so close together you are bound to get someone.

  • @Kebek said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1162291#Comment_1162291

I know what you mean and I'm not saying that I'm losing all the time on the contrary. My shots can be spot on already a lot of the time and I win decent portion of games I play, probably around 60%. Yet I realise that I won those games only because surviors sucked. Litterally, when I play good surviors with meta perks who loop and gen pressure well then hooking feeling like wasted time.

Improving is also the reason why I started to purely slug. With hooking I lose a lot of time that could be spent in chases or protecting gens thus improving my gameplay. Slugging allows me to get a lot more chases before gens pop so right now it's just more fun.

Just a dumb question but when a match starts how can you tell if they are gonna be good survivors or potatoes? I only ask because if they are potatoes slugging them is even less fun because overall the game is over in minutes then. I am not saying do not play your way but you are only slugging because you are having some games with really good survivors and then when you get the bad ones the poor survivors do not stand a chance then. =( I just play and if I lose I lose and if I get a kill okay too. =) lol

I can understand being upset that you were forced to bleed out for 3-4 mins. However the game wasn't held hostage because you were on a (Slow) timer to die, no different than being hooked. And slugging as previously stated isn't a valid report. Just because people don't like it doesn't mean it's not apart of the game mechanic.

Yeah what this person said. It is not a offense that can be reported but it is super annoying. It would be like playing killer and have 4 survivors never doing gens and just hiding the entire match and making the match last as long as possible. I have seen this happen and the killer quit. lol

I was playing the plaque and had someone doing the same thing and i made them think i was letting them. I stood there just throwing up to the point they were broken. Well I decided why not go for it and threw up well while the vomit was in the air I ran up and slugged him and hooked him. I hope he learned a lesson not to be a rude player.

I see this a lot as well. I think even one kill as a killer is a win. There is no real set standards as to what is a win. If one survivor gets out does that count as a loss for the killer or a loss for the other 3 dead survivors? lol

  • @Goatman_Jack said:

The state of the game is clearly a joke right now. Things had been going downhill since before the ruin nerf, but that was just the icing on the cake. Since that and the legions chapter it’s become increasingly more and more frustrating as a killer. Yes yes there’s the dark days of long past. But they improved the game significantly since those times. But now it feels as if we’re headed back that way.

Not everyone who plays this game aims to get to red or even purple ranks. Yet they had to deal with the same #########. No, I don’t want to switch over and play survivor. That’s why I’m a killer main. No, I don’t want to be massively OP and 4K every game. And I don’t, nor have I ever expected to. I just want to actually have fun as a killer again. Before it still felt tense and like I had to use my head at times. But as of late it just feels like a nightmare. No one expects to win every single time, but no one also expects to lose over and over and over.

So my question stands. Why bother staying? What is it? Even I’m confused as to why the hell I still play fully well knowing I’m just going to get frustrated, but I keep coming back.

I only ask just to get an idea but as a killer what do you consider a lost match? I know when I play killer I consider even one sacrifice a win. I have had matches where I only killed one survivor and still got roughly 20k BP. I will say I know you do not want to play survivor but it is good to play both sides so you can better understand both sides points and even learn how survivors act possibly. =) I am sorry the game is not much fun for you.

Yeah solo q is so annoying. This game is ridiculous with how many systems they have that seem to encourage toxic play for both the killer and survivor side. Sure it's a vastly different game and easier to balance but balance issues aside when playing a game like Overwatch your team may be the most toxic scum ever but even then they don't have the ability to actually hinder you however dead by daylight seems to love adding those systems. Alot of the time you do work and someone else gets rewarded like the Claudette crouching in the corner of the map or the Dwight waiting in the locker by the hatch. I have no idea why anyone would make a game so toxic but honestly, I don't think the Devs realise how much of a problem toxicity is for both sides and how it can easily put me in a bad mood for the whole day. It's the reason I hardly play dead by daylight anymore and I'm definitely never sinking any more of my money into this game that I foolishly spent a while back

I agree I am currently on a looooong break from the game. I have died in games only to see clueless players as I spectate just take turns hiding and hope the other player gets killed so they can get the hatch. It is very toxic and you are right it puts you in a horrible mood. I have no joke been yelling at my screen even though they cant hear me.

The worst case was watching a player 100% honest hide in a locker in the basement WITH a key and his teammate gets hooked in the basement. Well the killer leaves like 100% safe and the player comes out of the locker and looks at the hooked teammate then goes into another locker comes out and does it again. IT was like he was doing it on purpose. He let the teammate die INSTEAD of unhooking him and trying to get them both out the hatch.

I about quit the game for good that night because I still feel like no matter what your rank you will have at least 1 or 2 lazy toxic teammates. I do not even care about my rank anymore. I use to easily be rank 6 or 7 now I am lucky to go past 10 because I just don't care to try. Once I see lazy teammates I focus on just getting myself out and anyone else that is actually trying.

A subject we can agree on 🤣. Also you mentioning you play on switch, brings a lot of light to many of your comments. It blows my mind that voice chat isn't apart of the game yet when the dev's are so diligent on not balancing the game around SWF. Instead trying to "balance the game to close the gap" as they say. There is literally nothing they can do that makes solo play on level playing field as SWF, because if you add perks to get the effects of SWF. That's still taking up whole perk slots to even have a small portion of what it's like to be in a SWF - while SWF's get to go a full 4 perks with no fallback.

They can't ban the use of 3rd party programs used for communication, because it would be impossible to track, and then they would be banning people on word alone - without any real proof. So trying to avoid the use of comm's is also impossible.

The only remedy to the situation is to just give the players the ability to use voice chat, which there is also the great reccomendation of proximity chat. Which would still be weaker, but at least it's something, and remains in line with the game.

Obviously there would an option to mute someone, it would be really stupid for there not to be. Also there would obviously be the option to deactivate it entirely, just don't expect the dev's to nerf anything because players don't want to use the tools already available to them.

I have over 1000k Hours on switch and the worst part is when stuff like toxic players do that stuff like they did to me I can't even message them thanks to nintendo not allowing any REAL means of communication. The game itself at least to me is fine and the portability is nice being able to lay in bed or go out for a few drinks and pizza and play is fun. I just hate no communication. I am not even just talking mics but cant chat with words and ask why and what were they thinking.

I also agree there would be a mute option. I mean hell I cannot play Friday the 13th without muting at least 1 or 2 kids who talk like they are tough or just all together loud. The only small problem would be on how they do voice chat. If it is the type like F13 then just because you mute the player does not mean the killer can't hear them shouting next to you. lol It would be interesting to see how they do it IF they do it.

I get where you're coming from, but voice comms would kill what little decency there is in the game. I'd rather not listen to some big head deep voice dudes with anime profile pictures rage every 5 seconds cause they get downed by the killer (on xbox almost every person with anime profile pics are toxic, shame since I like anime). Then people would also have to deal with those who decide blasting their music through their mic is perfectly fine. Then on xbox, it'd literally be 2012-2014 COD voice chat all over again:

    -Raging squeakers

-Guys with kids/babies crying in the background

    -Static

Not to mention it would promote more toxicity and try hard attitudes. You'd get people trying to tell you what to do 24/7 and asking what build you're running and constantly criticizing you for your play style if it differs from theirs or from the meta. The xbox DBD community does not have enough decency for in game comms. Maybe there'd be a few people here and there who would casually talk but it's doubtful, on xbox at least.

I agree it is a hard balance. I wouldn't have honestly yelled but would have like to at least be able to ask why they trapped me in the corner and did not finish the gen that just need a tap to finish. I would hate to have ragers though in the game and I know it would happen sadly. =( I play to have fun no matter what happens. I honestly at times even risk myself for my team so the killer bothers me.

    -They add voice comms

    - You politely inform them at a hurried pace for them to please remove themselves from the immediate area as it is imperative they not become a burden

    - They stand there anyways

You make a valid point lol voice or no voice people will still be toxic I guess

Ha I definitely did. They didn't take hits or anything and left me to die while working on gens. If they are decent survivors they would've noticed I was being tunneled off hook and saved me but they weren't, and the fact that they then went to bodyblock windows shows that they were awful. Then my hard work worked of FOR THEM and not for me when I did a good job and thus I lost my nice item

I am sorry you had a bad experience with them. I know I for one would risk my one game to save someone. It is kind of why I always run Borrowed Time. I would rather run out and save someone and get hooked myself then let someone else die. The only time I may not take the risk is if NOED is active and someone was duh and opened the gate so the timer is counting down but even then I probably will try.

I feel like the body blocking is a new fun thing as well. I just had 3 games where people clearly blocked me and let the killer slug me. I sadly have no way to even vent at them because the platform I play on does not allow chat. I can understand how much that pisses you off. I did 4 gens only to have someone corner me and let the killer get me last game. Then I managed to crawl away and the killer couldn't find me. I recovered and the only teammate left waited about 2 minutes looking at me then decided to pick me up AS the killer is chasing them, needless to say it was a wipe. I understand you pain but there was at least one other person trying on my team.

I personally think I am taking another month are two break from the game because I feel like solo survivors are not learning crap. I watch them as me or someone else is hiding trying to heal run around leaving HUGE BRIGHT RED scratch marks on the walls and wondering why the killer finds them and just so many dumb moves. The best part is when you see their play time and it says over 500 hours. You think and you still play like a rank 20. lol

Sorry for the very long message but to sum it up I feel your anger and sad thing is nothing you can do but eat the losses or do what I do scream at your tv in hopes the idiots hear you. rofl I hope you have better games. =)

Everything you said is precisely why I said it has to be map-wide. If you make it proximity chat, SWF will still just use Discord, and so have an advantage over solo queue, so you'll still have the exact same issues that you have with balancing right now.

I did forget that SWF means playing with friends so they would probably be on discord anyway. You are right about that but you add that map-wide chat to the game would turn many people off me included. The fun part for me and my friends that play together are the fact we are playing the game the way it was intended. I mean why change a game if you can play the way you want with your friends using Discord and we can play without and let the killer have a equal advantage.

The level of work that would have to go into balanced all the killers around friends using map-wide communications would almost change this game to a whole different game. The way me and my friends play without talking makes us rely on skill and luck and most the time the simple gestures the characters do are enough for us. I am not saying using Microphones are not using skill as well but maybe a little less skill required because if I see the killer pass me I can let every one know the direction. If we aren't on mic I have to hope my friends skill level is good and can handle it.

I just think trying to implementing voice chat into this game would take more work than it is worth consider in a way we already have it using discord. It lets you play the way you like while solo survivors can play the way they like. =)

Why is SWF even a topic worth considering as an issue? The game requires SWF. How the hell else are they gonna survive the trials if they don’t have that benefit? Communication needs to be made to get things done properly. 4 random people not communicating is unfair to survivors and more often than not killer comes out on top because anyone is anywhere at any given time and some randoms just don’t know what to do at the time their assistance is needed with something. So many times I’ve seen people screwing off while someone’s hooked. Killers will find every little thing to complain about 😂 I mean, I see killers get at least one guy every match why the hell are you complaining? If survivors came in and died due to zero communication do you think anyone would want to play this? By the way, when we say SWF we mean survive with friends in a non cheating way, yes? As in, killer and survivors aren’t mic’d up? As long as that’s not happening I don’t know what the hell the problem is?

If SWF is needed then how come I can survive 50% of the time without it? I also want to say yet again I am not a killer main and I am not a survivor main. I will say I do play survivor about 70% of the time however. I also agree yes sometimes you see some players either goofing off or just not doing the right stuff but that is by your standard and mine. They may think they are doing what is needed at the time. Talking on mics is not required to escape and the game is not designed for a 4 survivor win every time. If all 4 escape alive that is rare and either great team work or the killer was just eehh or not working hard enough.

I am not against voice chat or for it. I just think using it does provide an advantage to the survivor group that leans a little on the unfair side.

When we speak of SWF yes we refer to Survivor With Friends but we or at least I refer to it as people who talk on mic and use it as a advantage against the solo killer.

  • YAY I got vote ups =) TY TY You really like me! lol jk jk I am being silly

  • @Huntar said:

Proximity chat wouldn't work, because then people would just mute their mic in-game, and still use Discord. Just make it map-wide communication without limitations, and balance for that. Everything else is just playing a shell game. Otherwise, treat SWF like cheating and remove it. We all know the devs won't remove SWF, because they already got on the play-with-your-friends horse, and they can't get off once it gets going.

Many issues with what you are suggesting. The devs have already told us there is no real way to combat SWF because you cannot prove who is and isn't using Mics. Then the issue with adding map wide comms is there is no real way to buff the killers enough without breaking the game completely for people who want to play the game without comms the way it was meant to be played.

Proximity chat could maybe work because if we are a room of strangers I have no idea what your discord is so how would I join it?

I know my idea is just as bad but they could always make two rooms one for Solo survivors and one for peoples on Mics. Then the killer if he wants can go against the SWF team for the added challenge and maybe even boosted BP points.

Really there will never and probably can't be a real solution to the SWF issue. We can just do the best we can to play and have fun.

I know you can't do much about voice comms, but players still need to go through the games matchmaking, right? Get into a lobby, invite your friends. So, the system recognizes you're a SWF. At the very least, you could give a new marker to teamed teammates, as a sign that they are indeed a swf. Yes yes, I know the devs go 'but that would promote lobby dodging!' but really, so what? They can't balance SWF in its current state, yet are okay with the rest of use putting up with their shenanigans.

The disparity between solo and SWF comes down to information. Again, I know perk changes can never really match comms (which is why I believe the devs dug themselves into a hole when they implemented SWF), but some perks could be adjusted. The Kindred buff was good, I can see a few other perks doing the same, such as a totem counter to Small Game, or even shrinking Detectives Hunch range, but giving group visual on the auras shown.

At the very least, they could give a bp boost to solos/killers who have to deal with a SWF. Give incentive to NOT lobby dodge. Heck, maybe even a SWF sided action speed debuff, I don't know. The point is, you can't counter comms, but you can at least give solos/Killers an indication of what kind of match they're dealing with, and plan accordingly.

I agree with you and it is kind of what I thought the whole time. They could make a lobby or some kind of sign that let's the killer know hey we are on Comms together. Then if the killers decided to take the challenge reward the killer with more BP than normal. It might even combat the chance of killer dodging games. If the killer can get more BP they might even like the idea of taking the challenge. =)

I play almost exclusively in SWFs because solo queues suck. There is rarely teamwork in solos. I also always run Spine Chill because it works on every killer, cloaked or not. So, being in a SWF with comms doesn't negate the need for those perks. Doesn't free up a slot. Toxic survivors are toxic, whether they are SWF or not, so forcing us to stop using comms isn't going to ease the behaviors that make it hard for killers.

I actually have good ratio of good and bad games in solo que games. I will say you are the rare find that uses spine chill. You can always see the Wraith as he Blurs by. The only one that bothers me more is Meyers but he is visible and both can still be tracked.

I have to say though I am happy you do not depend on comms for vision but I am sure it helps at times. The main issues besides vision already coming standard with comms is the planned army tactics you can plan 10 steps in advance. You could tell one person to start to open the gate while you are gonna run the killer around and loop him. Then you let him take you down and let your friends know to unhook you because you have DS. I have seen matches where it sounds like legit Call of Duty rounds. It is like how did a game designed for fun and without voice chat turn into this.

Is it really that unfun playing a game without voice chat? I mean there are really many many other games with voice chat. I do agree play anyway you want but that is honestly one of the main reasons I won't play killer much these days.

In the end play the way you like but do not be surprised when killer mains keep asking for survivor nerfs. =(

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

The voice chat in F13 was terrible.

Besides the obvious balancing issues, (lol my friends a killer, time to betray everyone then farm), there was still no reason to use in-game chat when playing with a friend group. And if it was a mechanic the killer could take advantage of, there was even LESS reason to use it.

So are you saying there should be no voice chat at all? I mean if you want to make this game as close to as real as possible then if you were to talk to a friend they would only be able to hear you in close area. I mean how logically could 4 people on opposite ends of the map hear each other?

I kind of get what you are saying though about the in game chat in Friday the 13th. You are saying we should still use out of game chat services so the killer still has no chance because in Friday the 13th the killer can hear us.

Also the whole my friend is the killer let me betray the campers has nothing to do with voice chat. lol That is just a toxic player and that happens in all games with or without voice chat.

tbh you don't need to be a killer or survivor main to not notice stuff like that happening. Look at Demogorgon perks, those were already nerfed while he was in PTB xD. Just be a normal player and acknowledge when something is bullshit on either sides.

I acknowledge both sides get the short end of the stick but I am tired of the moment you even try to say something the killer mains instantly go into the "They must be a entitled survivor main.". I was no joke 100% honest just asking the person if they are a killer main. I did ask because he seemed to assume the developers are biased to killers but honestly both sides have their ups and downs.

Lesson number one-Life is not fair deal with it or move on. =) There is many MANY other games to play if people are that truly unhappy with this game.
