Keys and mories should be reworked in some way yeah...

Unless you plan on camping the hatch as a killer, those 5 seconds to open the hatch are meaningless. The problem is that keys allow survivors to leave the match earlier and not that it takes them a mouseclick to do so. The problem will still remain.
I only ask but how early do you and the others think survivors can leave the game. Even if they bring or find a key they still need to do gens to make it spawn. That means the number of survivors plus 1, so if there is 4 survivors still alive they still need to do all 5 gens and if they use a key then they deserve it.
I mean even then they ALL need to find the hatch at the same time which is hard enough alone let alone as a group. I have tried to get fellow survivors to follow me and it almost never happens.
I am not a survivor main or a killer main but I personally after using both think Moris are still stronger. I have used a few keys and even after the hatch did spawn could not find the bastard. When I use a mori you hook survivor then slap survivor and kill survivor.
The keys are not like a god send and a instant escape. There is still plenty of work that needs to be done prior to using them. I mean if there wasn't I would see them used WAAAAAAYYYY more than I do. I am lucky to see a key used maybe 3 times a week and most the time it doesn't even get used. When a mori comes into play though which is more often I certainly see it used because the killer will SUPER TUNNEL the poor survivor.

Of course you won't but you sure will vent because you were outplayed. BOOM!

We had dozens of key post like this already.
Not a single one of them was right about keys being overpowered.
Keys are not unbalanced.
It does not allow survivors to just skip their main objective whenever they want.
They need to repair *amount of survivors* + 1 gens in order for the hatch to spawn.
Your scenario was that you claim you were on your way to 3 or 4k. You say 3 of them were alive. Further this means they repaired all generators except one for the hatch to spawn. How will you get a SAFE 100% 3k when they did all generators but one and 3 are still all alive? They can just split for the remaining gen.
It does not sound like such a hard winning game when 3 are still alive during the last gen.
Furthermore you claim that the hatch spawned and they instantly escaped. This scenario is insanely unlikely. It means after repairing the last gen they needed for the hatch it must have spawned right next to them.
I don't believe your story in the way you wrote it.
Just another person venting I would think. I found the story a little hard to believe as well. I am thinking just mad he did not get the easy win so his plan is to take away more things until he can win. lol
I am thinking just take away survivor perks and give them pool noodles and when the killer comes up they can swat them on the noise and say BAD KILLER and run. rofl .....sorry just being silly

I totally understand all of this however I also believe there is a lot that could be done to fix this. Like the last survivor could have the hatch revealed to them for five seconds. And make it take longer for the killer to close it. Or just remove the sound from killers so they literally have to look for it. But the hatch shouldn't be an option for everyone to escape through if the played bad or didn't complete the main objective.
I agree it should not be an option but if the survivor played bad chances are even escaping is only gonna get them MAYBE 10k BP. I would rather see them die and believe me I hate players who do not try and yet survive. I have saved teammates soooo many times that even after I died I still had more BP's. I hate the players that also when it comes down to you and one other survivor they camp the hatch and rub their scent on it and won't leave it. I always pray the killer gets these people and will let the more skilled player who tries out.
In the end I agree that it sucks bad players escape but the scoreboard will hurt them. The sad part is I do not think they care and I am sure they get a false sense of "I am better" attitude.

Hatch Keys completely negate the game.
It lets the survivors bypass their entire main objective.
And while Moris can be pretty unfair, they are NOT at the level of absurdity that keys are. The only really unfair one is the Pink Mori, which can easily be balanced out and is far rarer than keys are.
The keys do not let survivors bypass the entire main objective. The last time I checked you first have to even do enough gens to make the hatch spawn. Then if you want to waste time you can and have to hunt down the the hatch which can be so difficult to find at times.
I mean moris however are plain and simple hook survivor then tunnel survivor and kill survivor. I have had killers do this more times then I have had survivors use keys while I was killer. I have even gone as far to throw my body in front of the killer to get their attention and they will run right past me without even wasting a swing on me.
The stuff you have to do to use a key compared to a mori is a lot more and before anyone says it I am not a survivor main or killer. I enjoy playing each side because they are fun.
Also I have to agree with the other person that posted to you. If you cannot see a key you may need to check your graphics. I play on probably the worst system for the game and can tell the difference between a flashlight, medkit, toolbox, or a tiny little thing that might be a key. My vision is also horrible just saying. lol
-
I play both sides because they are both fun but honestly this sounds like a angry killer that just got an unlucky match and now is mad. I mean you are not meant to win every match. The key is maybe a little OP but to use it can be tough. You have to get at least a certain number of gens and for me in my Solo Ques I am lucky to get 2 because I end up babysitting.
THEN if by some miracle you get the right amount of gens done and the hatch does spawn now unless someone brings a key you have to hope and pray to the gods a key even comes out of a box.
Then the real fun starts you can try to find the hatch which I will also say you can ask many people can sometimes be down right damn near impossible to find. Then lets say you do find it do you try and gather your fellow survivors or save yourself.
I will say even with the key I still try to do gens because the time it takes to find the hatch waste time and I feel bad leaving teammates behind. It is only a OH CRAP thing for me.
I do not think keys are a problem and if the PINK key is a problem THEN they should do something about EBONY mori's.
I have seen killers bring Ebony Mori's and tunnel players just to use them. As a survivor you have to jump through hoops sometime to even get to use the key and still not get the chance to use it. It doesn't have to be a ebony but even a green one can ruin a game quick. You go from 4 to 3 survivors and that can be a big game changer.
Also Key vs Mori use well I see WAAAY more Mori's and personally I only use either one if it is a daily or a tome.

From my experience, SWF are a problem. Communication is a HUGE advantage, even for a middle-of-the-road squad. It's what makes or breaks a match. They could do a bunch of things wrong, but as long as they are telling each other who is going for the save and who should stay on gens, they have a good chance of ending the match and escaping quicker than your typical solo que lobby. A big problem with solo que is 3 randoms going for the save. As a killer I love to see that. As the survivor on hook, it's cringy. Now what about the toxic SWF who are competitive and take things too seriously? Those guys will enter Kill with Friends aka The Lab, and test out different tech. The will dissect the game mechanics in and out, and return to bully killers at optimal performance. I imagine most killer mains don't have that luxury of going to "the lab." I imagine most killer mains are solo and don't have others to play with, otherwise they wouldn't be killer mains lol. Now I'm not knocking SWF players being able to "practice," but it gives them an advantage & makes them much more formidable. Killers mostly have trial and error, experience, this forum, and Youtube videos to rely on. SWF has all of the above and then some.
Not a killer main, but when I do play as killer to get my extra BP, do my daily rituals, and work on the Rift- playing against SWF and Solo que are like playing two different versions of DBD. One is fun and exciting, the other is usually infuriating and frustrating. Can you guess which is which?
Now you are not always guaranteed 4K or even 3K for solo que, but when the survivors do escape- you can still say: "Damn they got away, but I still had fun. Well played, they deserved it." SWF is more like: "I hate this F'n game. That was some B.S. I quit. I am not playing killer any more."
When I get thrashed as killer, I usually suspect SWF (especially if they tea bag lol and only one person comes to save hook EVERY time) so I will look up the survivors' friends list, and sure enough- it feels like 8 times out of 10, they are on each other's friends list.
I say divide the player base and give killers incentives to host SWF like extra BP, unique charms not found in the Rift, or clothing. That way when your typical SWFs send toxic messages to the Killer, the Killer can simply reply: "Thanks for the extra BP, you ungrateful b*ast*rds- and you wonder why you have to wait 10 mins for the next killer to put up with your sh*t. 😛
I agree about SWF vs Solo Que. If you lose one or two survivors you don't mind because in the end we all got points and it was fun. In the SWF not only did they deny you points as the killer but they normally are not nice about it after.
I play only solo ques and have had a few games where the poor killer just had a bad game and did not get anyone and I have actually let him kill me or try to get him to follow me to do some pallets and smack the gens I repair. I hate to see a game ruined for others and do not want to see us lose players because of toxic players.
I also find it funny though because in Solo Ques people Tea Bag and that bothers me when my teammates do that. Just take the win and be nice and gracious. I feel like toxic players and the toxic people I see in forums are typically people who act tough but giving the chance in real life would never be that way but their screens give them fake courage.

SWF is a problem. It doesnt matter how common "Death Squads" are, they exist and they have a huge advantage.
I agree that SWF cant be just removed, after all they form 50% of the playerbase.
Instead, we should buff solo surviviors, while slightly nerfing SWF and only add perks that cant be abused by SWF.
Advantages SWF have:
- (WITHOUT COMMS) Perk coordination. Even most casual SWF without comms knows what perks their teammates have. SOLUTION: allow solos to see other people's perks in lobby, forbid SWF from bringing multiple copies of the same perk (max 1 or max 2)
- (WITHOUT COMMS) Knowldge about experience, skill, playstyles etc. of their teammates. SOLUTION: fix matchmakimg. This way solos can be sure that their teammates have similiar skill level.
- (CASUAL) Knowledge about state of other surviviors. Even most casual SWF with comms relays SOME information. They know who is working on gens, they know who is going for unhook, they know who is being chased, they know how many totems got cleansed. SOLUTION: add small icons that show what action survivior is performing (doing gens, cleansing, healing, is being chased etc).
- (CASUAL) Even most casual SWF tell eachother if the killer is neraby them or not, do they hear TR or not, are they being camped or not, etc. SOLUTION: add an icon that show who is hearing TR who is not.
- (TRYHARD) Tryhard SWF squads abuse information they have and perks like OoO, Head On or DS to make coordinated plays. Most of this is unavoidable, but some issues can be solved. SOLUTION: change OoO so that survivior doesnt have absolute control over this perk, so it cant be abused. Change DS so it can be used only if you are being tunneled amd cant be abised, and so that there cant be multiple DSes active. Generally change all perks so that they cant be abused if you have more information than you are allowed to. Also, solution to point 1. would also help here.
I really agree with most your ideas. I feel like instead of trying to buff the killer to the SWF level they need to debuff the SWF to the killer and Solo Que's level somehow and your ideas are pretty good. =)

@NullEXE said:
You say that, but then in most of my games it's literally a toxic 4 man swf that is getting away with sabotaging all the hooks in a game (while still being able to do gens), bodyblocking, coordinating all of the information that game to the point that any killer with traps, or snares becomes unusable. They are running 1 or two OoO. Each with their own role or class. I've seen them with clan tags, i've seen them streaming on twitch, YouTube, and Mixer. Then in end game chat flame you for whatever reason they feel like, and get away with it. I have even come to the point where I doubt anyone is actually reading support tickets, because getting told to get cancer, told to kill myself, and various atrocities about my mother by the same people each and every day (because who else will you get match with at rank 1 on a killer you primarily play regularly) - clearly they don't get punished for it.
So yeah. Just because your one group of friends isn't apart of the issue. The issue is still there and it's the biggest problem DBD has, because the dev's choose to ignore it, and is taking so long to fix it (which we doubt they ever will). It's honestly so bad to the point where I have doubts you're even not apart of the problem and this thread you made is just to try and justify actions you and friends do to bully killers as a SWF, because threads like that have start to pop up lately - which I don't know why anyone would be scared that the dev's will do anything about SWF.
You can't just ask survivors "Are you SWF" most say no, we even know in the team I play with just to say "no". It would be stupid not to. In addition to the whole aspect of SWF being so toxic, so is the fact that you get to remain hidden to the fact you are playing SWF, so statistics of people playing SWF melds with those who are just good at the game while you gain an unfair competitive advantage in a game that really isn't meant to be competitive.
Also the smart people are not asking to "remove SWF" we are asking for the game to balanced around it, and if people are scarred that's gonna "ruin the solo experience" then add a voicechat feature to the game for solo, you don't have to use it, but then it's on you for not using the tools available to you in the game. There even has been great suggestions of a Voice Proximity, which could be very fun.
I read your post and I am confused because you said, "You can't just ask survivors "Are you SWF" most say no, we even know in the team I play with just to say "no". It would be stupid not to."
Are you someone that uses SWF and also bullies the killers?
Also the only problem I have with anyone that uses SWF it makes many perks useless. If I could communicate with my team then why would we ever use things like Spine Chill, Premonition, Kindred, Dark Sense, Bond, Empathy, and the list goes on. If i could simply just tell my team where the killer is then it is like have all those perks PLUS the 4 you took. That is one of the reason's I find it unfair to the killer. The killer gets the same benefits as we do 4 perks and that is it and the same vision we do. If we get the ability to monitor him from all 4 survivors it can make the game easier for us and much harder for the killer.
I also think if they do decided to balance the game for SWF users then they would have to buff the killer a little more and that would make it a little unfair for us Solo Que players who do not use voice chat.

Well you are quick to judge and I have 1000k hours and I wait no longer than 2 minutes for a game but way to act like you know it all. I forgot PS4 is the only edition. I simply stated from my side of things survivor is not easy when you need to babysit people who cant do a gen and don't even think to equip perks.

Agreed.
Time of day dramatically affects the matchmaking. Although I've noticed at peak hours I get significantly worse games. I figured it would be better. Probably due to an influx of red ranks looking for matches. It's just frustrating and stops being fun can feel more reminiscent to working.
I agree! There are some games even at peak times that I feel like it is more of a job training people who skipped the tutorial or just simply do not care to learn. I will say my BIGGEST PET PEEVE is survivors who go into a game without even one perk. All the character killer included can start with one personal perk so I hate seeing this. It really makes me think they did not take the time to read or learn and now it's my job to do everything.

Who said anything about all?
I read this in your post, "When you have to fight through a team of second chance perks with skin overlays with survs saying ApPlY mOrE pReSsUrE while all gens pop in less time it takes to wait in the lobby as a surv, it gets real old real fast"
I agree as a killer it is tough to fight through second chance perks and how annoying it can be to get DS 3 times or have slugs get back up and run away while you were trying to down someone else. This is however I feel as well though when the matches you to start with HEX and end with NOED and I still feel this way when I play Survivor and 80% of the killers on the platform I play use NOED.
I do not hate the use of any perk. I just hate the overuse and seeing them when I am normally paired with at least 2 players as a survivor who have no clue how to counter things.
It is really tough no matter what side you play and if you don't think so for the people that main killer try for a week for survivor solo que and just watch the perks some killers use and how dumb your partners can be.
In the end both sides if you take the game to serious make you want to rip your pubes out. lol

SWF is not the main culprit. The matchmaking is #########. There is little reason for rank 1s and 2s survivors to play against rank 10 killers. In a normal game that should be considered a fluke or an anomaly. It is the status quo here. Is it even fun for red rank survivors?
SWF just adds an accelerant to the dumpster fire.
This could happen because the player pool is bad at the time you go to play. I have had games around 3AM on my Nintendo Switch and I was Rank 10 and had a few survivors with me 14 and lower ranks. The killer was rank 4 but I was not to upset because at that time of night I was lucky to even get players. I mean yes the rank system might and probably is broken but you also have to put into account the player base. If they have no one around your rank would you rather not play at all or just try harder. I mean it is suppose to be a game so have fun and if you need a break take a break. I have my problems with the game very much so but I also know it is just a game. I think maybe if they finally did Cross Play the player base would be bigger and getting matched with the right ranks might be easier.

You people do realize not everyone plays this game everyday and rank resets exists, right? That said, if you're using a new killer to you and haven't been playing for a while, this is practically the norm for any killer not top tier. When you have to fight through a team of second chance perks with skin overlays with survs saying ApPlY mOrE pReSsUrE while all gens pop in less time it takes to wait in the lobby as a surv, it gets real old real fast. Kudos to OP for having as many hours as he does because this game is an exercise in masochism for many.
I agree they should take all the second chance perks from the survivors. I mean after all there is 4 of them and 1 of the killer. DOWN WITH THE SURVIVORS! They should not LIVE ....or have fun. lol I mean it's only fair that killers had Hex Ruin for how long? Then NOED to stop a game dead in its tracks if the game gets to the end and they missed a totem. I mean dang those second chance perks. lol
They should just take away all perks and let you play the most basic of games. lol jk jk

I feel your pain. Playing survivor is a cake walk compared to killer. Hopefully it will change before all killers just quit and move on to other games where you actually have fun and it's not a toxic sweat fest. You practically have to play a perfect game, because if you make one mistake, it costs you the game, while survivors can make several and still escape... 🤦♂️
REALLY?! Playing survivor is a cake walk? You must either be getting players that have a clue or playing with friends on mic. I play solo que on the Switch and am lucky to get a survivor who has 100 hours of game time played. I normally get players who can't do a gen let alone think about even cleansing totems. I have had teams where 3 of us are on a gen and they pop it so much the gen is worst then when they joined me.
I can play killer and make mistakes and still get at minimum 2 kills if not all. I guess maybe the Switch Version has not caught up to the problems the rest have.

Heals heals heals mindless scooby doo loops around a hay bale and I cant run stab puke or hatchet anyone because like a superhuman they dodge every wind up. They tbag past every throw
I sweat and I sweat and follow every youtube I win chases faster I use ultra rare add ons i slug I tunnel i camp i play dirty oh so ######### dirty. I practice shots in kyf
2 healthstates with 4 perks and a tool each that instantly heal someone who already has 3 hookk lives and I'm suppose to kill people who can literally waste an entire minute circling an haybail.
i tape my tv for hatchet sights
Theres no end to these second chance perks and saves.
I set timers for hooks. I poor over every inch of these forums and the wiki and memorized perks.
There is no horror anymore.
There is no balance.
Loops are frustrating, gens fly.
I've got 2k-3k hours since launch longtime player longtime payer and I'm out.
Your survivors ques just got alittle bit longer
This never ever happens so far on the Switch then again we do not have SWF so far that I know of so most matches the killer wins and rapes everyone. I hope we never get SWF teams because I find it very unfair for the killer. I play both sides so I am no in favor of killer or survivor but when I see a SWF team bullying a killer on youtube it actually makes me mad for the killer.

There's so much they could do with legion tbh. What I know for sure is that his power (if reworked) needs too include the entire Legion gang. No point in calling him Legion because atm it's just too sell cosmetics.
I'd prefer if he could switch between the Legion memebers, each having a different small power that all have some use Example: Frank could Vault pallets at a slower rate too hit survivors, while Juilie could Throw her Knife at survivors too injure them, but she must pick up the knife or switch members.
They could also give different cosmetic loadouts for each member so you can feel like you're own Legion gang, which could be unique too you and you alone.
I really like your idea!

Yeah. So... Legion doesn't need a buff. Legion either needs a ######### THOUSAND BUFFS or a full-on rework. Definitely a rework though, in the vein of Freddy or Doctor. I know the devs are sick of hearing it but Jesus, it's because something needs to be done about it already.
A full-on ability rework. That's the future I, and I'm sure many other legion mains are hoping for. That's the future we need. But the future we'll get? Either an add-on rework (Because legion's add-ons are godawful. Frank's mixtape is literally unusable without playing like a toxic piece of #########.) or... Well, more nerfs. Because legion is an SS tier killer that no-one can win against.
But what reworks do we want in terms of ability or add-ons? We need to give the devs an idea of what we want for them to even consider it.
I am not sure because I feel like all killers have these sides. One side says the killer is to weak and the other side say nah I can easily kill with that killer. I also notice most the people saying the killer is weak are people who main that said killer. I mean I have never had a match with legion where I haven't killed at least 2 survivors and I suck. In some cases I feel bad and let a survivor escape because they are downed so fast. I understand though if you are not happy and think he/she needs reworking then by all means I agree and he should get a rework. I mean the doctor got one and god was he scary at first and still sort of is. I am not saying you are wrong or right but I do see your point and just saying I have seen good and bad players and have had good games myself with him and no real knowledge how to really use him. lol
-
I guess when I play killer I just try to use other perks so I don't have to hope and rely on NOED. I find at that point it is to stressful so I use more vision perks and Whispers I love! It is like a game of hot and cold and most the time I win but normally let 1 maybe 2 if I am feeling nice, survivors go. =)

I expect NOED even more with the Ruin nerf, but I'll take NOED over Ruin ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
NOED can be countered. Ruin wasn't so easy and I never saw a single streamer or teammate hit every Ruin Skillcheck, so the players who claim "how hard is it to hit Skillchecks?" can pipe down.
I do not mind the use of either but I felt like Hex Ruin was easier even with new players because they could see a lit totem. I have been put in games with clearly new players who can't even do gens who walk right past a dull totem and don't cleanse it because they are more gen focused and don't think about late game. At least with HEX within a minute you know its in game and now you go look for the totem.
IN THE END I DO NOT MIND ANY PERK AT ALL BUT WHEN 8 OUT OF 10 GAMES ARE NOED AND EVERY GAME I GET KILLED SAVING NEW PLAYERS IT GETS A BIT MUCH. I EVEN WATCHED ONE SURVIVOR WHO WAS PRACTICALLY SITTING ON THE LIT TOTEM AND WATCHING HIS TEAMMATE ON THE ENTIRE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP GETTING PICKED UP RUN OUT OF THE GATE INSTEAD OF TAKING THE TIME TO CLEANSE THE TOTEM. THE MAP WAS Memorial Institute and the totem was right behind the push door near the gate and he could have cleansed it with time and everything but decided to leave instead.
PS sorry about the weird font I am not sure what or how it happened.

I love how your only input is bashing people that play survivors. I play both and I think NOED is okay to use when you are a first time learning killer but there is many other good perks as well. I also only dislike it when you are playing 10 games and 8 of them bring NOED and you are with players who have no clue because they are new and have no idea to cleanse totems because if not it can screw you.
I also learned you play most games solo but I am gonna guess you also play with friends sometime so you also have the advantage at times to talk. When you play strictly Solo que with no means of communication and you have players that pop gens so much they undone all your work. It just makes the game that much harder when you need to make sure to also cleanse EVERY totem because your team does not think about it because they are new.
I will apologize on behalf of whoever or whatever comment offended you. I would just say please instead of bashing people you could maybe add some actual input. Even if they are survivor mains they still are adding stuff to the conversation.

I can honestly say I do not think Hex Ruin was ever that tough anyway. I mean annoying yes but workable against. However NOED the ONLY way to counter it is to break the totem. At least with Hex Ruin you could work and yeah it would take longer but you could do it.
I am not saying do not use NOED but I am just tired of seeing it but that might be because I am a Nintendo Switch player and the killers are still new and need to use it.

I use it on two killers. Wraith, because I don't have any decent forth perk for him yet.
Plague, though, I usually always use it, to combat the EGC cleansing.
I do think NOED is more prevalent today than before. Ruin was to slow the early game, NOED slows the late game. Considering how fast gens go, can you blame them for its usage?
I love using Plaque and I never use NOED. I can typically get a 4 game kill but most the time let one go. I never use NOED even when using Wraith either. I mean I use Corrupt Intervention and that gives me a chance because it forces the survivors to come to the closer gens near me and with whispers I can hunt them down. I know when the Whispers perk is dark no one is around when lit they are around and it gets louder as you get closer. It is like a game of hot and cold but easier.
There is many ways to play a game without using NOED. You could use BBQ and Rancor for constant vision on the Survivors along side maybe Surveillance for when they stop and restart a gen and we all know that happens often. You could also use Discordance which lets you see when more than 1 survivor is working on a gen.
I am not saying do not use NOED but do not rely on it and use it every game. I feel like it is a crutch in a sense. I may be a bit biased just because I do not use it and my track record with games the past few days have been so full of NOED I grew tired of the game and have taken a break.
Also YAY another Plaque player! I love her! The funny thing is she was the first killer I tried and I hated her but I went back a little while later and loved her.

I dont know what you mean buy theirs plenty of other fun perks to use but ive played 2 reps of trapper, 1 rep of huntress and most characters are at close to 25-40 and from all the perks in the game their honestly arnt many good perks. Most of them are useless like missed attack recovery(thats only useful if your really new and are missing a lot which you shouldn't be doing if your decent), seeing peoples blood easier(if you pay better attention to the ground you can see the blood pretty well and plus just listen around and you'll hear them regardless), or the other dozens of perks that are either super situational(like monsterous shrine) or perks that ultimately arnt useful(cauliraphobiea........I doubt I spelled that right. Clowns perk.) The more questions about things like this make me think more and more that their is A LOT more people that play survivor and never touch killer for more than 20 levels than youd think.
Isn't all totem perks are risky play anyway? You talk about situational perks but why take any totem perks if they can be easily beat as well. I am not a Rank 11. I am typically rank 8 to 7 and like I said I do not mind the use of NOED it is just tiring when you get put with low rank or new players who do not think to cleanse totems.
Also there are other fun perks. If you are worried about people getting out then use Rancor for when a gen pops you can see the survivors. That for one is a fun and good perk. I have used NOED once and thought wow this is cheap. I know that is my opinion but I stopped using it in favor of other perks. I wanted to teach myself to not depend on my oh crap I couldn't down any survivors let's hope NOED helps kind of game play. There are tons of perks that give vision all the time on Survivors without the use of NOED.
Also about the Rank 11 comment I guess if you play survivor you can't win. If you play with SWF people look down on you but if you play solo que like me and we all know how tough that can be you still get looked at for being a supposed cry baby. I do not mind playing with new people and in fact I like to try and teach them. I am just tired of being killed every match because I was babysitting. I guess really they should fix the rank system more than the actual game itself.
I mean look at the current NEW SABO Perk. I consider that to be the survivor NOED the way it is now and yet killers everywhere are crying. I think Sabo needs to be fixed before release because it is to strong. It is not okay if the killer can't kill but it is okay if the survivor can't get out because of bad teams who can't do gens without popping 4 times in a row.

Ok, and hear me out, what if someone just likes NOED?
I do not mind the use of the NOED totem but 8 games in a row is a bit much when you are playing with sometimes new players who can't even do gens. The odds of them focusing on totems is slim and I watched them actually ignore them.
I know personally when I play killer there is many other fun perks to use then the OH CRAP I AM NOT GOOD AT THE GAME NOW TO CAMP THE GATES AND ONE SLAP EVERYONE perk lol
-
I honestly have nothing against using NOED and see it as a teaching tool to survivors to CLEANSE TOTEMS! I just get burnt out when 8 games in a row it was used. I also go into a game knowing I am not gonna make it out alive anymore and just focus on Saboing the hooks and totems for points. Then work on gens and healing and saving teammates. I will unhook the last survivor with BT just so they can escape and I die. It is not about getting out alive to me but having fun and NOED has kind of killed that for me.
I do understand using it though but overall just tired of seeing it like others were sick of seeing Hex Ruin. Hex Ruin never bothered me really even if left up.

I am glad someone else posted. I thought I had a virus and started checking my computer. lol

It's just not in their purview as new survivors, and it tells you something too, when your score is higher than those who have escaped. They need to learn what to do, but its brutal for new survivors. I honestly don't recommend this game to new people if they interested in playing survivor, they're going to be frustrated.
The devs metric is 2 kills and 2 escapes that they try to balance around, but they only apply this metric at higher tiers . With kills around 70% (its much worse for survivors at lower tiers), killers are FINALLY getting some push back. But I've seen NOED being a top tier perk since release and watched the devs skirt around the issue.
NOED is here to stay, lest they prove otherwise.
I love that you said "Killers are FINALLY getting some push back" and I loved how you said something to the other person on the Sabo Changes forum as well. I am seeing many Killer mains or people who claim to play both but favor killer complaining the Devs are Survivor mains and the game is already in survivor favor.
That is a crock of poop because in the past 2 or 3 days I am lucky if 1 of us gets out of the match alive and 2 survivors living gives me reason to celebrate. I got lucky once and all 4 got out but that was pure PURE luck.
If killer mains think they aren't favored our at least equal give survivors a oh crap perk like NOED. lol You really proved a point in that other forum and are very knowledgeable. =) I would like to pick your ear and learn about this more. lol

What you've stated there is IT, in a nutshell basically. What you've described is literally par for the course. Killers maintain just cleanse it, but its based off maps, team mates and motivation to do it.
It's also worth pointing out that its a train wreck at low levels. New survivors can't even manage skill checks, let alone understanding what 'cleansing' is supposed to achieve.
It's definitely a cheese perk.
Exactly and when the ranks reset and I go from high to low ranks and play with other either low rank or 100% new players I get screwed. I cannot do all the gens and totems and also keep my low rank teammates off the hooks.
I mean I manage it and my husband laughs as he watches the three escape and I die and still get the most points.
The low ranks are just learning to do gens and do not even begin to think totems can be issues yet. They really only bother when its lit and that wont lit until the end and then they are running for the gate.

NOED has ALWAYS been a thing, ever since release.
Back in the day there were NOED vs Sprint Burst debates. Where people would argue NOED was needed to balance against sprint burst. Just think the same 'insightful' arguments you see now, just in a different timeline.
Anyway, long story short sprint burst isn't even particularly relevant anymore its been through that many nerfs. Compare NOED which has gone through a bunch of iterations, but I'd struggle to say it was ever nerfed at any point.
I guess my point being that for anyone that's been playing since release, NOED has been a regular cheese perk that gets mentioned by people such as yourself every now and then. But the devs maintain it.
I guess its just funny when you see killer mains complain about how survivor is favoured by the devs (lol). Because when you follow the NOED debate since release, for example, you cant make comments like that with a straight face, if you know what you're talking about.
I personally do not mind the use of NOED and have come to expect it but I am just burnt out because of it. When my team seems to flat out ignore totems and later as I am on the hook being ignored because of it just sit here and laugh because I knew it was gonna happen. It just makes me hate playing survivor and I just recently seen an incline in its use again.

No I hear you, I experience the same thing as I usually play solo. I bring Kindred every game to try and control it as much as possible, and cleanse totems myself to even things out. It's really all you can do, as ranks are no longer any indication of a player being skilled at all, unfortunately.
I agree! I play solo as well. I have had all green rank players and watch as the entire team comes to save me as I have kindred on. They should see each other and a couple go to gens or something. The rank system is almost useless these days. I have more games where i do 4 gens and save and I end up the only one dead and it just makes me scream. I have seen games where I save a teammate and they make it to the actual edge of escape. I go to spectate and see them on a hook and am like #########?! You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. I just play for BP now and no plans on really getting out alive.

I think a lot of insecure Killers use NOED out of anger after the Ruin nerf. It really doesn't make sense as it's two completely different perks, though. I also find it ironic in intself, as Ruin really wasn't as effective as a lot of people say. As always, on red ranks it depended largely on what group you faced. If it was a well-organised SWF, Ruin would either be ignored or cleansed within the first minute - basically rendering it useless anyway. Against poor teams you would have won anyway.
The same goes for your argument with totem cleansing. Against good teams, the totems will be cleansed (or the match won't even get to the collapse).
I agree that Hex even before the rework was pretty useless. I was confused when they decided to rework it because they said it was to used and wanted to change things up but left BBQ alone? I mean Rancor is from what I see the same thing. When a gen pops you see survivors and BBQ is when you hook a survivor. Only difference is you get BP for BBQ.
I think they should have maybe moved the BP to Rancor and left all the perks alone at least then they would have got what they wanted and Rancor would be used and not BBQ. It is a dumb idea but just trying to shoot out some ideas.
I didn't mean to argue against or for totem cleansing. I am sorry if I did. I just was trying to say all my games I have teammates that won't cleanse them and just walk right past them and then later when NOED pops cry and run out the gate if they can. I just want one good team where they do a little bit of each thing. lol

You didn't search up mmr matchmaking...
Who cares how they searched it just be nice and answer someone or don't but do not be rude. It is not that hard to answer or move on and ignore it. I did not know what it was either and even looked it up and would have gladly answered without being rude. =P

Just because you encounter bad players doesn't mean ALL Switch players are bad. I usually hang around rank 1 or 2 on both sides, and both sides put up quite a fight. There are a few moments where you may die due to a mistake your teammates made, but everyone makes mistakes. Even you. If you are truly getting horrible teammates in almost every game, do your best to carry them and keep pipping. If you don't get better players in the red ranks, I don't know what to tell you.
I am sorry to make it seem like all switch players. I will reword it and say new players that have never watched or played the game and have no idea what to do who now play on switch. There are on occasion some good switch players. You said there are times when you die due to mistakes by teammates but it is not a mistake when a teammate clearly leaves you on a hook or clearly unhooks you from the hook knowing the killer is sitting on your chest and you can't really get away. Then the players I have seen more than once one my team who while I am hiding run to me leaving scratch marks. Then act shocked like how did the killer find us. There is mistakes and then there is just plan doing dumb things. I do try to carry because I do not want to lose my rank but it gets disheartening when this happens match after match. I just wish the more people played the more they learned but I see some of the same players making the same mistakes over and over.
-
Just had a game where another survivor brought a key and no joke did no gens just waited for the hatch to show and then looked for that and left the last survivor behind. I kept rooting for the killer to hook his dumb ass.
-
I have to say the main thing I am mad about with Switch players that I see WAAAAAY TO MUCH compared to watching players on any other system on youtube is the hatch huggers. It is like the new players on the switch don't have a clue how to play or even care to actually help their team so once the hatch shows up they just hug it and you might as well count it as game over. I have WAY to many games where no joke hand to god I will do 4 gens and be like wait where is my team and find 2 people hugging the hatch making out and praying while my fourth is either dead or actually trying with me. Then on occasion you have people like fellow Switch Player DaniPaint who brings a key in but won't do a gen and hides in lockers until the hatch shows up and then leaves. The best part was watching him hide in the basement while a teammate was hooked right there in front of him and he just kept walking between lockers and hiding and let the teammate die INSTEAD OF UNHOOKING HIM AND GOING TOGETHER TO THE HATCH!!! My tolerance level for the players on the switch is quickly going down because as a survivor main I have many times user Borrow time to save fellow teammates last minute only to get killed myself and heck I even had a game where I knew the hatch was the only way and I lead a teammate there hinting to stay and went and let the killer chase then kill me. On one occasion my teammate shocked me and had a key letting us both out. In the end it is called teamwork and the game is not a hide and seek game if you do not know how to play maybe check the tutorial again.

I am glad you made this post because I feel that by the sheer knowledge of the hatch existing, it can automatically ruin a match because now you have people that will think “well if this match goes south F everyone else I’ll find and camp it”.
Its funny, when I play Killer I can tell when people are camping or searching for the hatch:
- Third survivor on hook suicides. Usually a dead giveaway that the 4th is camping hatch
- 2 or 3 survivors left, 1 gen left to repair. But instead of repairing it, they cheese and take the coward’s way out by all escaping via hatch.
Hatch needs to go, or make it so only 1 person can use it and do not make the hatch appear until only 1 person is left.
I agree to most of this actually. I mean I understand the hatch has to appear so people with the key can use them but once it shows if even one person is dead most the game now is waiting for others to die and hope you get the hatch. I personally do not do this and I try and that is why most killers take pity on me because at that point I will let the killer keep kicking the gen and if he is smart he will go hunt down the hatch campers. When I play killer I tend to respect the players that are trying and the ones that just want the easy escape points I try to kill first. I have had games no joke where I have done all but last gen and die because the other 2 or 3 people or hugging the hatch waiting for each other to die and it pisses me off after all my work I am the one who dies. I do not mind being killed because we all tried but when I do all the gens and I mean ALL OF THEM and they get the escape points it kills the game for me for a bit. I do not mind sacrificing myself after the gate opened and we all tried and I get a person off the hook and protect them but to die only to protect people who get out alive with less then 10k points urks me.

New players usually don't have anything to start out with, so you can't get after them for not having perks. If you want to face more experienced players, do well in matches and climb up to the red ranks. They're much better at the game. (Usually...)
You can't say new players do not have perks because each character starts with a least 3 personal perks. I mean yeah some are not that great but you can at least equip one. I have had games where the player does not even equip one of the three character given perks. I was new to the game and equipped DS with Laurie and that was level 1 character Rank 20. You can always equip at least one perk. You should never have none.

I am a killer main and I hate this. I get the 2nd from last survivor down and the final guy is just hanging out by the hatch just hiding.
I actually feel bad for both killer and last survivor trying to play. I actually had a killer who took pity on me because he knew I did all but the last gen and he let me alone and i let him bash the gen a few times and then he went and hunted the last survivor that was hugging the hatch. Then after he found him and hooked him he found me at the gate and let me go. It was like a mutual respect and understanding for us both trying. I do not get it because as a survivor I feel you get more for trying then just escaping.

I can relate - I absolutely dislike when survivor mates just wait for people to die or just hide through the game. If there is a CROW active OR if i do see a person just hiding only. I lure the killer to him/her to get them doing something. I won't be mean and NOT unhook them ill do it but hopefully that makes them do more than just hide and not do a thing.
Exactly! I will do the same thing and run the killer past them but I won't try to get them killed. My favorite part is when it was the last two of us and the survivor tries to get the killer to come to me and hook me just so they can get out. If I see that happening I make it my goal to get hooked as close as possible to the hatch so the killer wins. =)

Hey man I’m sorry this game doesn’t really seem fair to people playing survivors. Then when I try to send my thoughts about what needs to be addressed I get shunned by killer mains. It’s nonsense 😂 I go to a game like Friday 13th and I have so much more fun dying in that game because I feel like I have more of a chance. It’s more balanced and fun. At least after I die I can look back and say “oh I should or shouldn’t have done that and maybe I would have lived” ... this game I use a perk called deliverance and 2nd time I get hooked I get insta killed? What’s the point of the perk? Why do I see so many useless perks that require specific things to happen for it to be useful? Why can’t I stun the killer with more than just the 5 pallets that are on the map? 😂 (exaggerating but I really don’t see how pallet stuns are effective unless you’re looping them - which isn’t very fun and not effective Method on every map) I mean the game doesn’t give survivors alternate means of escaping like counselors do in F13. It keeps the killer guessing. None of this camping nonsense and swift deaths because the game can’t fix the hook mechanics or pressure the killer more to find other survivors. Because most killers know you can’t do 5 gens with 3 survivors where 1 survivor is probably wasting time making a rescue attempt (which is now 2 doing 5). Killers leaving you bleeding on the ground or picking you up and dropping you over and over. Too much bad manners and undeserving kills for killers. The game makes this killer faster than survivors, okay, so maybe put out a few 2x4s or lead pipes for us with a one time use or something so that way if we’re in a chase we can stun and get away. Windows don’t work and killer seems to have a god-like reach to be able hit people through windows the way I’ve seen in this game. That’s ridiculous. Pallets .... i just don’t see enough on EVERY map where they make a difference. Killers are faster than the survivor in this game which makes pallets futile method of escaping the killers grasp. Unless you “pallet loop” but that’s not why I bought a survival game 🤷♂️ Just saying. Lmao. I’m a customer too.
Well I have to say killers need to be faster than survivors or it would be a never ended chase and the whole time your team would be popping gens. I agree about the window thing though. There is nothing more that pisses me off in this game than trying to rush vault through a window only to have the killer still hit you. I will say I am not a killer main but there is many ways to escape killers other than pallet stuns. I watched other skilled players to learn and one way is to vault the window and as the killer vaults it to you can run back up to the window and it confuses the killers most the time and they follow the scratch marks leaving you alone. The other thing is this game unlike F13 is more a game on skill and sneaking around. That is why there is not any weapons because you suppose to use more skill other than stun and run. I play both games and I will say I feel this game takes more skill. I mean heck you fail a skill check here and the killer knows. If you miss one in F13 it just takes you longer. The other thing I have to say that is wrong with F13 is fellow players sabotage you WAY MORE than they do in this game. Also there is many useless perks in F13 as well. In the end both games have their issues but for me DBD will always keep pulling me back. I can turn on F13 and I either escape in 5 minutes or die in 10 because teammates like to sit there and watch you do all the repairs and then die and they take your car or escape using the boat or whatever while you lay dead. lol

You do know why the game has hook campers. Because there’s no real pressure on the killers to continue searching once they’ve found their first victim. I’ve seen survivors pull all kinds of dumb moves making rescue attempts on hooked survivors then they get re hooked and killed off when the killers standing right there. I think more pressure on killers to keep people off gens is a big deal. Bring it down to 4 gens or maybe give survivors a NICE repair speed boost while killer is near a hooked survivor.
I think the best way to make killers stop camping is if you see him camping do two things. As the survivor on the hook do your best to stay on the hook as long as possible. Then step two as the other survivors go and finish as many gens as possible. The moment he sees 2 or 3 gens pop if he doesn't leave then, then keep going and finish and laugh when he gets less then 10k blood points from hooking one survivor once. You are right though about dumb survivors unhooking others right in front of the killer. That is a dumb move that cost the entire team points because you did not get a safe unhook. Play smart please fellow survivors. The only time I take a fellow player off the hook when a killer is camping is when a exit gate is open and i am not injured and I have borrowed time.
-
I have to say the doctor is very overused right now and is very strong. Personally with his new play style there is no real drawbacks to him. He can both shock and smack players now without needing to switch modes. I still think there is a way to beat every killer but you just have to focus as the survivors. When someone gets hooked not everyone needs to fight to save that player and maybe focus on gens while 1 person focuses on the save. If the save is not possible and you have a camper then let him camp and waste his time and go do a gen in the mean time. Do not run up pull the poor player off the hook and then wonder why you both get knocked down. I do think the doctor needs some small tweaks and is way to overplayed and honestly out of the 13 to 15 times I played today I seen the doctor at least 10 times and the rest was legion. I stopped playing for the day because I got bored of Doctor killers. lol

If i understand right if I buy the perk from the Shrine I can only get tier 1? If that is true I bought DS from the Shrine but never level Laurie Strode but all my characters have DS tier 2 and 3. I unlocked Borrowed Time from the Shrine and still have not once found it on any tree. Are certain perks more rare than others and show up in the bloodweb more than others?
