We are working on getting this communication level back.
I am actually happy to see all this feedback lately because it allows our Community team to bring back activities and communications like the Q&A videos and even more (new-ish) stuff!
I loved the old bug / focus report a lot which is why we are trying something new called Developer Update. That's what we've been working on this week (this and even more communication items for next week). I hope you guys will enjoy.
We will ramp our Communication back up and hopefully exceed what we were doing before. Thanks for always keeping us in check with your feedback. :)
Nice, does this mean MCote will have more chances to gift us other precious memes?
-
It would be better a direct punishment for intentional DCs (like a timeout) instead of basically prolonging lobby times, which could cause some side problems btw.
-
Well, if after rank reset you wait a couple weeks before playing you'll realize why it's important. Rank basically determines how many potatoes (and how much potato they are) you get in your matches.
-
I usually forget about A and D and only steer with the mouse, that helps running more smoothly and closer to the loop. Does crab walking work the same way?
-
I think for me it's Suffocation Pit. I like the look of all MacMillan Estate maps, but I enjoy a lot the design of this one.
-
Wow, I have no words... it's incredible what people on this forum come up with.
-
My main genres are metal (alternative/prog, nu, black/death), progressive rock, and fusion/funk. I tend to prefer bands that mix many genres though.
-
The Trapper is very good at that, since it allows to have more control on his traps which are condensed in a smaller area instead of accross the whole map, which makes them overall more lethal.
-
Unless you want a miserable experience, just don't. Sabo is currently viable only with a dedicated swf team.
-
In those examles you're clearly facing potatoes. There's no way you can chainsaw more than one people if survivors have a functioning braincell (even in the basement, yes), and avoiding the chainsaw is extremely easy with the help of just a little obstacle to circle around.
Since the Hillbilly exists imo there is no reason to play LF.
-
Well played, dude. Well played...

I used Kindred the other day, and no one came for me. I died on my first hook. Bunch of f*cking a**holes. Took that sh*t off and put on perks to help prevent my getting hooked in the first place.
I have the same experience everytime I try to use it, somehow my chances to get unhooked drop. If I'm lucky I get saved when in phase 2.

This wouldn't affect SWF, only solo players.
Why is everyone out to shaft solo players so damn badly?
How would that affect differently swf from solos?
-
Day one of the forum. I used the Steam forum to have something to do while waiting for a match and during loadings, and when the forum was announced I simple migrated here where devs are more active.
-
A problem I see with this is survivors stealthly fueling all gens and only after that they'd start to repair, especially swf. This means the first minutes as killer will be spent roaming the map doing nothing and not gaining real time by this.
A possible solution would be to make moving with canisters very noisy and slow, and there would be needed a timer in which a gen can be repaired before needing to resupply.

Could make it trigger exclusively to status effects caused by killer powers, not perks or add-ons.
What I meant by "cleansing" was actions that remove negative statuses from you.
So only when your character needs to:
- Wake Up
- Snap Out of It
- Mend
- Drink from a fountain after becoming fully infected
- Remove a Reverse Bear Trap
Would the perk activate.
I like this idea. +1

I never rely on sound anymore, It used to be a good tool, hell they even said DBD was a game of sound but they messed with it so much that It's very unreliable.
Footsteps are so feint for killers but you can clearly hear them when playing survivor. It's so odd maybe it's because the Chase music is so loud that it drowns out any grunts of pain or movement. But also, walls and objects also muffle and quieten the sounds of survivors so there's that too.
True, in the old days sound was a lot more important. I kinda miss that.

Crows, along with everything else except killers, survivors, and Maurice, are actually the Entity.
Devs said that the Entity allowed the Clown to bring Maurice with him, so he's a "standalone" being.
-
I actually found it very useful, I don't think it needs a buff.
-
Stealth is perfectly viable, it's my main playstyle and works very well. The point of being stealthy is that you should know when it's time to change tactic and run.
-
Actually most other endgame perks require a bit of strategy to pull off. NOED is just a passive buff instead. So imo it's correct saying that NOED rewards failure from the killer.
Still, survivors need to cleanse 1-2 totems per match each to avoid NOED. Spending 20 seconds to cleanse totems doesn't kill anyone, unlike NOED.
-
I like playing as her :/
-
I haven't played a lot lately, but I managed to face only one Plague.
Maybe it's because I didn't play her in the PTB, but I don't find her bad as people say. But I agree with Peasant about her BP gain... 25 for infecting survivors is wierdly low.
-
OoO is already broken in the hand of swf, but with Wraith it's insane. Personally it's the only thing that makes me quit the match as killer. It's simply unfun.
-
I think at a certain point they should not stop (because DLCs keep players engaged) but at least slow down a bit and work more on the core of the game, since new killers suck a lot of resources.
-
@GrootDude said:
Why is it when a killer does really well then the survivors suck? Very annoying logic.
That's a constant argument around here, you can't tell you're good with something because someone will tell you just play against bad survivors, always.
@OP yeah I think Thanatophobia is a good perk nowadays considering that the survivor meta is to not heal and just do gens. Sloppy + Thana ensure they waste more time whatever they choose to do.

@White_Owl You're so innocent. You know that we still don't even have REWARDS FOR REACHING RANK 1, right? And this game is like.. three years old now?
When the developers say "We're working on it", it usually means NOTHING. It's like "We're listening to player feedback" and such. It's just PR speech to make the community hopeful. If they cared about our feedback, changes to DS would have come SOONER.
Heck, we're been telling them about the rampant DC'ing issue that's happening and they're doing jackshit. Their so called system for issuing bans might as well not exist because its existance has no effect.
Rank rewards have never been announced with dates infos and faqs, unlike servers and optimization. I'm not being innocent, I'm just stating what people seem to forget easily.
In any case I just aknlowledge that game developing is very slow, and I honestly think bE is doing a good job compared to many other games I know.
-
Do you even know what "nerf" means?
-
Well, in a certain way it's already going on. Optimization and dedicated servers are being worked on, also some other stuff like the endgame rework(?) hinted by McLean... all stuff aimed to make the game healthier.
-
BBQ, MYC, Sloppy Butcher and Knock Out/STBFL. It can can create a very nice snowballing effect, especially if slugging is used at the right time.
-
SftS won't be good until 70% of maps are lacking crows except on some remote corners, no matter what numbers are tweaked. Even before the last nerf it rarely procced
-
all the time I see these killers, trying to end the game as fast as possible, and it's just not fun.
That applies to survivors as well, many times they just repair the gens as fast as possible and get out. Short matches are a problem for everyone.
-
Yeah matches tend to be quite short. Sometimes I even wonder if survivors are enjoying themselves by just repairing gens and getting out asap.
-
Lithe nerf? It's a QoL change people have been asking since the perk was introduced.
This community is never happy...
-
It's not in the patchnotes, instead of crying report it as a bug so it can be fixed.
-
In high ranks survivors already don't heal against Legion, not being able to down them with his power would make him even worse.
Imo what Legion need is more counterplay and more skill-requirement: let missed hits and vaults drop chunks of his power meter, so that jukes can be more effective and mindless spam from the killer would be penalyzed.
-
With all the nerf to the number of pallet in each map, this combo is sick. Nerf the first or the second perk
Or maybe you could adapt to the situation by simply dropping the pallet a bit earlier and not stunning the killer. When playing with that combo I hate when survivors do that since I basically waste 2 perk slots.
-
Pretty sure people already tested it with No Mither and and Adrenaline doesn't heal to health state the survivor.
-
I think it would make him very strong in the endgame, especially if Overcharge and Pop Goes The Weasel worked with this mechanic. It could work an ultra rare addon imo, since he has only one and as a base mechanic it could be comboed with some addons to be really broken.
-
If you look closely, you'll see that the game sees a peak around September, then it drops around February/March and then it grows back. The current drop doesn't seem out of the ordinary.
Still, I think they should do something more concrete about the DC epidemic. Personally it destroys my enjoyment both as killer and survivor, and I guess a lot of people share this feeling. A simple deserter penalty/timeout would do a lot imo.
-
From experience playing on a potato will just make it harder in general, especially as killer, but it's still playable. To compensate, if you then have the chance to play on a good pc after you will dominate.
-
Having a perk being reliant on a perk of the other side is very very bad design.
-

So when Survivor mains try to meme that Killers, "just want Survivors to run in straight lines," they don't realize that the math is still on their side in that scenario. LOL
What's funny is that running in a straight line actually buys a lot of time, since curving (which is inevitable in finite maps) allows the killer to cut the survivor off.
-
Yeet. It seems to be used in every possible context, and has so many meaning it doesn't really have one.
-
@AntiJelly said:
Sloppy was never nerfed, and literally the aim of the game is to repair gens. Adrenaline is not that common. I get maybe one person in two games that has it, and even then most games don't make it through all the gens.
Sloppy Butcher did get nerfed, from 25% to 20% healing debuff.
-
Alternatively, just remove the Hex part and make it apply to 2/3/4 injured, dying, or hooked survivors.
I like this version more. Blindness is an inconvenience most of the time, it doesn't justify the perk being a Hex
-
So survivors can run only 3 seconds every 40? Lol nice try.
-
I contemplated this idea (with the difference of restricting it to non-lunge attack) once when a full swf were swarming me to help a downed teammate. Honestly it would be fun to hit more survivors at once and would make ganging against the killer more dangerous. Solo players wouldn't probably feel the difference.
-
Personally I will refuse to play even a game with/ vs this disgusting sinergy.
Or maybe you could git gud and stop screwing other people's games

not really, is a team work game they can help u in a chase
Lol in my long "career" as a solo survivor I was never helped by someone during a chase. It's more likely they helped the killer.
