  • Unfortunately, I doubt anything MAJOR comes from this offense. The best thing you can do is ignore it, and carry on with your life. I promise you, bad games/getting destroyed is completely normal; and it happens to all of us.

When you play video games you have the chance of being streamed, but that’s just one of things about being online. You can report the people who were mean to you, but in terms of overall legality this isn’t worth the fuss and probably wouldn’t be worth it.

My best regards to you, however. I understand that this is inconvenient, but streaming is something that unfortunately we all have to face, regardless of how well we do.

The best thing you can do is take this as a lesson, sure you’re on their VOD, but it’s only one game which doesn’t even matter in the grand scheme of things.

Keep your head up and keep practicing, but failing is always apart of the learning process.

Also, I’m no way informed to give you legal advice, but just based off of streaming itself in video games, I doubt anything could be done for it just in terms of common sense.

TLDR: Sorry, I don’t think that’s necessary when this happens in many other games; keep your head up though, failing is apart of the learning process.

  • I’m a dude and main Jane but if you give me just enough time and a pinstripe suit with white dress shirt, (and maybe some foundation and contour!) probably.

  • I understand where you’re coming from, but I’d highly doubt that this is anything serious; after all, contributing to this data collection, this is SO minor in terms of overall effort.

I get the feeling the survivors just flat out weren’t being productive, most likely looking for totems especially with “Craft Time’s over”, or trying to take hits for the David challenge.

TLDR: I don’t think survivors would throw games for this, it’s too trivial for something that would make little to no difference period.

  • I better not break a nail.

    This Jane outfit was pricey!

In all seriousness, it’s nice to see other people taking the game seriously— it makes it feels super intense.

  • It probably won’t be left in the dark, it’s just not visible to other players.

You’ll probably be able to see some sort of visual in regards to it, since it IS an overhaul to matchmaking I doubt they’d disregard the major part of the replacement, the replacement itself.

  • I think something unique and distinct for each character.

Like Nea gets graffiti as you prestige her, David gets rugby imagery or pictures of bars, or Spirit slowly getting more angry....

These are all unique concepts. It’s hard to pinpoint which one I like the best in this thread :(

  • Accidentally sandbagging someone who had just gotten flashlight saved. Not my proudest moment... that’s for sure.

  • Jean always doing the most for us, I feel pampered.

    Thanks so much.

  • Tag me at least LMAO.

Joking, obvi, but when I play solo the worst stuff ALWAYS happens.

It’s super dreadful when the obsession is getting chased and no one is going for save.

  • I don’t hate it, the sound makes it really spooky and I personally like it.

i think it should be toned back on the user side though.

  • Sometimes, and when it happens I’m usually in awe.

Some killers mains are super impressive, and if I get destroyed/tunneled that’s on me, at that point.

Good Legions and Pigs surprise me the most.

I don't know. The incredibly rare frequency of BBQ gives me pause.

Queen looked into it and said “it really is random”. It’s somewhere on the forum, but it really is.

  • I prefer the song Lover, but carry on, I guess.

  • The shrine is apparently super random.

The same thing happened with BBQ and stuff— it Really is random. We just got REALLY lucky.

Why would they want to give their characters to a competitor when they have an asymmetrical game coming out in literal months? Whatever your theory is it can't explain that.

I didn’t know it was releasing until a few days ago.

    One can dream, though...

  • Jane’s moans aren’t that annoying.

    Sincerely,

    biased Jane main

  • Feeding them in terms of reactions is the last thing you should do. Carry on and don’t take it personally.

  • I really don’t see the big issue when it’s satirical. Additionally, Sam is a Fog Whisperer himself, and since Ruin was the major topic of discussion they chose what they thought was appropriate.

I highly doubt it’s a direct diss at killer players, it would just be stingy and bad PR, not to mention bad for the audience.

Nah the survivor should be Mariah Carey

  • Handbag: Carry an extra add on for items you searched the chest with, equipable.

    Joke item: Makeup kit.

Have the ability to touch up makeup mid trial. New concealer coats and fine mascara will grant survivors larger skill check areas; if they don’t mess up the wing of the eyeliner. “I’m going to die, but at least I’m dying pretty.”

But you are the KILLER correct? The match plays around your strategy and no its not always going to work out. I realize the problem with a lot of Killer mains is that they care too much about what Survivors have to say after a match. If its offensive and over the top report it. Otherwise ignore it and move on, people are gonna whine and talk smack regardless. Thats what happens in PvP games.

I don’t know where people get that idea of “I need to play a certain way because [x]” Play how you want, your play style should be controlled by YOU, not the people you’re playing against.

  • You shouldn’t feel like you need to play nice. Play how you want to play and don’t let other players dictate how you play.

  • Survivor. The movement feels different in regards to turning, the turns aren’t as sharp as they originally felt.

I also feel like the movement feels very, sensitive. I can’t put a finger on it.

  • Yes, they made it so hits look more consistent and overall feel much smoother. You can still moonwalk, that was a bug in the PTB.

  • Have a good one! Just know there’s always a spot for you at the campfire.

It’s perfectly normal to be done with a game, move on if you need to.

  • Moving overall as survivor is a lot smoother than it was originally, and the game moves a bit faster due to ruin being nerfed.

  • It’s a two way street, you have your things and I have mine. It’s only fair.

Plus DH isn’t that good anymore due to dedicated and I personally don’t run because I don’t find it as useful.

DS is a tunneling deterrent, run knockout if you are having issues with the slugging aspect, but the time IMO should be tweaked.

I don’t think it’s fair to just null other feedback because they have other perks, for all sides. It completely ignores one perspective, one way or another. @twistedmonkey said all that was needed to in the thread itself, its like that for both sides, so you can’t just ignore both or tell the other one to stop complaining when we’re all playing a game that we want the best for.

  • Think of it as like, having a cold.

You catch one and you feel awful (debuff) and if you go near someone you can get them sick, too (passing the shock to another person) and now you’re all sniffling. The best way to treat this is rest and stay on your own so you don’t get anyone else sick.

Outside of common cold, pretty much (from what I’ve read) Survivors if they get near one another can get the other survivor with madness (if they’re not already insane). It’s basically hot potato mixed with infected; probably one of his best addons since it deters survivors doing things together, such as healing, gens, or saving.

  • Avoiding falling from really high places because it would injure you.

Like if you fell out of the coal tower, you’d lose a health state.

  • I use it, and let me tell you, throwing a pebble at the killer is one hell of a power move.

But it’s also super useful, especially when injured or near a jungle gym, since I can have a clean get away with DWM.

  • Rules for me? Depends on the build.

    But usually.

I like to play in different ways than typically how I usually played as of late, it makes it more fun. I’m used to a rule set constricting me because I play The Sims a lot, so it doesn’t really bother me. (Proud completionist of 100 babies).

I play for fun first, winning second, so even if I get sacrificed, I end the game happily.

  • A.

Look, I can’t be able to find the totem and get to the survivors hooked by the time EGC starts, and that’s not assuming that the killer isn’t proxying. Normally I would pick B, but if I have a challenge I’d like to get it complete, and since no one else is gonna bother with NOED, I can’t risk the killer getting another kill because my teammate unluckily got down in the worst time possible.

  • Honestly a few tweaks and buffs to killer perks to make them slightly more useful than they are as it stands right now would be great.

Not all perks should be meta, yes, but it’s a bit annoying when killers HAVE to run certain perks to counter survivor perks, and the same on the survivors end. It’s just perpetuating this cycle that just hasn’t changed, so it would be nice to get something new to the meta instead of seeing the same stuff, different killer.

Survivor does have their second chances, killers don’t due to how the game is structured. Spirit Fury and Enduring is easily countered by dropping the pallet early, BBQ and Chilli can be countered by going in a locker, Nurses can be countered by Nurses or just healing by a pallet and having decent map awareness.

I think one of the bigger issues is the lack of different play styles on the survivor side, there’s not a whole lot you can do when an aggressive play style not only nets more points, but is required for pipping.

So, what am I getting at?

The meta is what’s causing most of these issues- it’s keeping the same cycle of survivors needing to run perks to have fun, and killers needing to run perks to have fun; which is deriving off of the current issue with killer map pressure, and how survivor is played. Overall I want to see tweaks to killers to make them more viable in terms of base map pressure, and survivors wanting to counter said meta, developing the meta for the survivor side.

To the devs credit, maintaining ability uniqueness any be more difficult on hand than on paper, however, I totally understand where this thread is coming from. I think changes need to happen to refresh the gameplay cycle would make the game more diverse, and once killer issues are handled, the survivor issues can then be handled.

Not to say that the game shouldn’t be an easy for 4K or win for survivors, but the gap should be a little more close than where it’s at now considering how stressful killer can be compared to the survivor stress (or so I’m told, I panic when I get chased sometimes LOL).

  • Just leave dinner in the front of their door.

Also, where did the shipment of really really thick eyeliner come from?

  • I think the criticism is indeed, very necessary. I’d highly doubt that the Trusted Program has anything to do with it though— they just encourage constructive criticism, which is much more usable than just “this game sucks”.

However your argument does hold water, and BHVR, like all humans, makes mistakes, but it’s better to be honest and admit the game isn’t perfect.

Going into the details in regards to a business standpoint, there’d be no point in having people say the game is perfect, especially with how the game is developed and how they do, listen to feedback. Not only would this be a major issue in regards to how funds are spent; but it could cause a huge scandal. Take for example, October 2019– the Sunday Riley Skincare company made it’s employees write fake reviews for them. With that under our understanding, let it also be said that there was a major FTC Lawsuit, which settled with a warning and if any of it continued, there’ll be civil charges. The difference between this case and DBD is, DBD is a game. However that doesn’t mean that it isn’t possible they’d do so, but with the ruin changes already being a huge source of backlash, the negative PR wouldn’t do any better in this, so logically speaking (from a semi-informed business point) this wouldn’t be worth the hassle. A major damage to their credibility just for maybe a few more product buys with the game already going on sale in conjunction with most other sales, and the winter sale, it’s pretty clear that they have the budget for sales of cosmetics, since some retailed for exceptionally cheaper than its standard price.

If you do however feel as if these yes men are partnered and endorsing BHVR products by saying they’re perfect, here’s how to look out for these fake review accounts. The easiest way to apply this concept is by looking at how old the account is, and how frequently they comment.

However none of these characteristics are applicable to said ‘yes men’ nor with the trusted. The Pilot itself states that these users encourage constructive criticism; but that doesn’t mean they think the game is perfect. The same can be said with The Fog Whisperers Program; none of them shy away from having their personal criticism for the game, but like previously mentioned, they encourage constructive criticism.

With their already major gross from the game alone (30 million, which is not as much as the 110 million total gross from the rest of their products), the fake reviews wouldn’t be worth the time or resources especially when they don’t have any issues with sales as is.

TLDR: I agree, but BHVR ran ‘yes men’ accounts are highly unlikely, and Trusted don’t have anything to do with the issue. Looking at companies who HAVE done this, these do nothing for sales since they are not selling a product, and it’s more likely to look for the reviews of the product for this ‘yes men’ situation. Criticism is essential for this games survival, but those FUoTM (or, Trusted), do not do such from what I’ve seen; in fact they can be vocal about it if they so wish.

  • Now that the Léry’s Rework happened, will the appearance of older maps be reworked as well? If so, what maps fit that agenda?

The reworked Léry’s is stunning, and the ambience and effects make the place a lot scarier than what it was before.

Editted: Forgot the follow up question if that’s allowed. :(

  • Looping has a lot more to it- I’d recommend watching a few videos on how to play around some loops and or go to DBD school in the official discord and book a class for tile identification, optimal path making, and moonwalking.

  • You’ll do great! Now focus on your work.

    :) Chase that check!

  • Glamor: You look your best even when at your worst. When injured, your blood pools don’t stay very long and your footsteps are considerably more quiet.

”Let me tell you a secret; how you dress doesn’t matter, it’s how you work it.”

Beautician: You aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty if it means helping someone out. When healing someone, your heals are significantly quieter, and if the healing is halted, blood trails will lead towards you instead.

”I don’t care who you are or where you come from, get out while you can and I’ll handle the rest.”

Good Lighting: Nothing makes you happier to see your objective being accomplished. Gain a token each time a gen is completed. You perform healing actions faster as the game progresses, but lose a token when you get downed.

”It’s not golden hour but I’ll settle.”

I actually take a lot of pride in my minor hobby, fashion (especially professional runways), and have had an interest in makeup for a long time. I personally don’t use makeup, but studying it and seeing fun and fascinating looks (IE, bolder eyeshadows or fun colors).

  • No, some of it is called for.

The devs won’t just yield to what the community wants, they like the feedback but for the most part you don’t see much influence in the changes for it.

Entitlement will always exist regardless so there’s nothing that can really be done there. The adapting part of the community always exists, but you need to keep in mind some of the whining is in fact, called for. Like it or not they are a consumer and they have the right to source their feedback, but it’s nicer to have constructive criticism. But saying the game is something you need to adapt to isn’t necessarily true when some things are, in fact broken.

OP, our views are very similar, yes, but some changes or feedback the community provides or frustration is apart of the process.

It’s better to have feedback that counts, the idea of just sucking it up isn’t something you should look for in a game of this type (as in the case of worse performance or changes). I think it could be geared more towards the constructive criticism aspect however— not to say that the whining isn’t annoying but rather it’s one step away from being actually useful to the development of the game.

TLDR: I get what you’re saying to some extent but the whining does make sense, and it’s an important part of the process, but I think that instead of the form of “whining” you cite is semi-valid and has a way to improve through the form of constructive criticism. Instead of saying “This change is stupid” add to why you don’t like the change— why it doesn’t make sense to you, and provide decent usable feedback. There’s nothing to go off of the example I provided, but you get the idea.

  • WHY ARE WE YELLING?

I’d expect it to be the 22-26.

  • You can avoid the chat by just leaving the match right after, and you probably can disable chat outright. If you talk back to the people who’re trash talking nothing is going to change, you’re feeding their ego and they’ll continually refute you (or try to).

Just drop a GG and leave if you have that many issues with it.

  • I feel like gate times are fine as is, it’s the spacing of them that needs to be worked on. Sometimes they can spawn on the same wall making it super hard to open them without being seen.

It is my fear that BHVR repeats the mistakes of Overkill. So far every other game they make hasn't been very successful

Eternal Crusade was an unmitigated disaster, Death garden despite massive improvements struggles to maintain a playerbase above 200

Overkill went down not because PD2 started making less money but due to bad decisions. I just think BHVR might be over-extending and not fixing core issues

While I understand that, it should be said that just because they made the game doesn’t mean it’s the only source of their income. They provide assets for other games— so even if it was the budgeting department likely keeps the budgets for projects in a certain range without overextending, even if their own titles don’t turn over if the ones they provide assets for DO, they still make money (I believe, I’d imagine they’d get a share or stake depending on how much assets they provided or they weren’t paid a flat fee, but I’m doubtful of that option).

  • @twistedmonkey said:

Nope DBD is just their largest earner but only brings in around 30% of revenue.

BHVR were reported to have a total of 118m in revenue which DBD accounted for 35m of that.

The game will live as it always has through any and all changes made. The number of forum users complaining are minute in comparison to the actual amount of players over all platforms. Players have always adapted to all changes made in the past I don't see this being any different.

Exactly. DBD ending would hardly be detrimental to the company as they still could afford the things they did before, but maybe could not be as ambitious in terms of partnerships (Licensed Content) depending on what the financial department will swing.

Needless to say however, the ruin change is likely not going to end the game like everyone says it is. It’s likely going to be a huge change to how killer is played since they’ll get truer numbers on how gens are done (since Ruin isn’t slowing down Gens and ran as frequently anymore).

Not to mention that every chapter you buy, everytime you play, every cosmetic you buy, you’re contributing to the success of the game itself.

I’ve heard the “DBD is dying” argument many times on this forum, if it has clearly lasted this long it’s not going to end anytime soon.

  • Just because it’s one of their more notable sources of income does not mean it is their only source of income. BHVR is known for providing assets for other companies, and likely they’d return to that or continue their new work in the mobile games market.

EDIT: It would have some sort of toll but they have decent budgeting skills (from what I’ve seen). It would be a blow to the company to the best but not company ending worthy, that’s for sure.

  • SEMI-WEIRD TAKE:The que’s are long but I learned to make use of them by being productive. Doing assignments, picking up my workspace, and jamming out to Spotify or stuff.

  • I’d tinker with your monitor’s settings if possible. Also, side note: If you’re playing for long sessions, lower the brightness, you won’t get headaches as frequently. Also, if you have a PC, look into GeForce Experience (if you have a Nvidia Graphics Card).

Modifying your game files however is a do-at-your-own-risk type of thing, so just keep that in my mind when doing so. BHVR won’t be unable to unban you if you get banned by Easy Anti-Cheat.
