  • depends on the killer I play. Some of them barely have a difference in gameplay and some of them are extremely addon dependent.

I do not really like using addons/items overall, because i'm a hoarder.

I'm absolutely fine not using addons on Trapper, Wraith, Nurse, Huntress, Plague, Pyramid Head, Artist (PH and Artist only because their addons are all pretty dog, so no reason to use any)

But i'd feel handicapped if i were to go into a match as an addonless Billy, Myers, Bubba, Doctor, Freddy, Wesker, Knight

I don't play any other killers so i can't judge how addon dependent they are

  • u can redeem it only once

Favorite: definetely flashlight. That means they won't touch gens, or at least very little. If I need to win, I'd wish for bully squad.

Least favorite: that's kinda hard. Medkit means that they will spend time on healing, toolboxes could bring some problems, but in spite of common delusion, dedicated gen-rush squad are VERY rare. Probably when survivors bring no items, then it could be anything: Inner Healing, attention to gens, careful gameplay, blastmines, lot's of things.

No items survivors definitely give no room to predict, it's hella fun to go into the game without knowing what they gonna do

    Warcraft, starcraft, quake, diablo.

    Imagine zerg as a killer!

Zergs make more sense when in a group, It would get a bit crowdy on small maps xD But i do think it's a clever idea

Thread topic is about base game killers and both she and Huntress are part of the base game, therefore Nurse counts as a base game killer.

Had the thread said vanilla killers, then i would have answered Wraith.

In this logic they're still not base game. They are, but for pc users, on console different dlc's are "base", like Doctor and Hag

  • @Smoe said:

    Nurse

nurse isn't base game tho, she was the first dlc

  • If you recently took a break from playing killer, then probably you got rusty. And if you play regularly, but suddenly got worse lately, then i'd say you're another victim of Made for this. While it's not absolutely op perk, it definitely makes chases way longer, it's harder to mind game, due to their movement speed. And if you don't play any top tier killer, you gonna have a hard time.

I'd say either play killers that will make survivors dc or just wait for some kind of update that will make lower tier killers suffer less.

If you are rusty, i highly recommend just play some custom games with bots, to get the feel of the game again, it's gonna be alright <3

My favourite item is probably keys. They don't make much difference to the game. My least favourite item would be brand new parts for the toolbox.

i learned to respect keys, if i'd see a full lobby of keys, i'd expect it to be an aura addon key and all of them being god loopers

  • i don't even play him, but he's the best boi

Oof! I like that :D We already have a chaining killer with Pinhead, but just imagine some beefy monstrocity like the Butcher chaining you to a loop so that you can't leave that loop and now you gotta run it perfectly or die.... with most seasoned survivors would just run it perfectly, thusly rendering the Butchers power ineffective. Sounds like we got winning concept, here ;D

I mean there's many versions of Butcher (like 5 now?), it shouldn't be too hard to make him fitting dbd, and not make him too similar to Pinhead. He could be something between Oni/Blight and Slinger. He could have like a short range charge thing, with not much control over, that can slam into walls, hindering survivors around. Hard to think about chains tho to give them to him, but not to make them extremely op. Tying survivors up to a loop wouldn't be a bad idea, but considering some of the perks in the game, would be easily broken.

  • besides the legal stuff, I can't even come up with stuff that could be a skin for Freddy, like my man doesn't even have any potential

  • heroes-of-the-storm-diablo.gif

    Butcher from Diablo

Traumatized many childhoods, would be either a great killer or if not a standalone killer, he'd make a great Oni skin

  • Design-wise? Dredge, no on is even close to this one. Definitely the best idea. Executed poorly, that's why he's not top in every category

Story-wise? Wraith, my boi needs a biiiig hug

Gameplay-wise? Doctor. Simple and effective mechanics, fun to play as and against (personal opinion lol)

If I have to choose a killer that's amazing in all 3, I'd say Artist. Stunning design, great story, amazing gameplay. Not better than those 3 above, but she's great in filling those categories

  • It's really easy to spot a killer/survivor that definitely has something on their mind. Not talking about the frustrated ones, that played few bad matches and just either decided to stand in the corner or just go absolutely berserk and play something as unfun as they faced.

The players that don't feel in the right place but also feel like they have to continue playing, do like a tiny slip ups. They're lacking focus. Like their gameplay might be still great, but they will have baby mistakes in obvious moments, when they shouldn't have happened.

But usually no one sees that in this community, people are too focused on jumping to each other's throat.

Remember guys to take a mental break from time to time, sometimes when you keep playing it's gonna get worse <3

Usually you won’t want to open the gate immediately when you’re ahead and not getting pressured, but still have a few things you could do, EG: one Survivor is on Hook and the Killer isn’t pushing 2-3 of you out of the gate. (Which they wouldn’t do as it leaves the hook open)

And by keeping the gate 99’ed you do allow for a technically limitless amount of time to regroup and heal to save people on Hook and cover any failed attempts.

But you can also focus on getting extra bloodpoints from Totems or opening chests for Items if the game really swung in your favor, and if someone gets downed because of the 99% that’s just more gameplay to engage with. (Unless they’re Deathhook)

There might also be some challenges you could still squeeze out.

And some people might simply not want to open the exit gate immediately because it starts a timer, it’s a commitment that the match will end in a specified amount of time.

Personally I’m a proponent for the EGC starting on the final gen getting done to keep match flow going in all scenarios, but I understand concerns over Killers trying to use it as a way to Kill survivors through time constraints.

Sure, the same scenario happens with the last Generator now, but there’s a much greater risk holding off on that given the switches still need to be interacted with, instead of a half-second interaction on your way out.

i like the idea of EGC starting on the final gen, but some perks would have to change for the rules of it or the EGC itself should be extended. NWO would probably have to trigger the second EGC starts, if we left it at the same 2 min it is now, and BW would be extremely oppressive too, since u would lose time to open the gates, and making BW trigger more thrilling. Wither BW would have to be changed or again, EGC extended

  • 1v1's

Many people play for chases mostly, why not make it a gamemode?

How it would play, you would queue up normally, and once u find a lobby, u have like a minute to prepare your build (i'd limit each loadout to maybe 2 perks) once u choose perks, they're locked and u can't change them, You would see what killer u gonna face, to know what to prepare for, and both side can see each other's perks. Either no map offerings, or each side can choose a map, which would make even 50/50 of where u'd go. To avoid lobby shopping, "match" starts at the moment of finding the lobby, so dodging lobby would equal the traditional dc penalty.

As the rules of 1v1, survivor's winning condition would be surviving for X amount of times, and for killer would be getting X amount of downs, when after every down survivor and map is being reset. To prevent survivor from playing hide and seek (which would be a great game mode on it's own), if survivor isn't in a chase for like 15s, their aura is revealed until they enter said chase.

Perks and maps could be modified to fit the mode specifically, and ranked system would also go really good with it

  • I've been killed by 99'd gates more than saved. The ONLY situation I will 99 gate is when I'm facing Freddy. Considering his unplayable state he's in, all the Freddys I ever face, are the ones doing an adept.

That extra second of opening the gate when running away from killer can cost u everything. Most of the lost 99s scenarios ended like that for me: Gates are 99'd, everyone's injured from saving that one teammate they 99'd gate for, they're running to open the gate and escape with killer on their back, someone opens the gate, but killer manages to get a down, which results later in altruism killing another 2-3 people.

Either don't be dumb altruistic or don't 99 gates :v

I hate RPD with passion, so no way I'm putting myself AND the killer through this horrible map, i'll just let it happen naturally. Sooner or later it will happen

Now the items are classified in different categories:

    * Survivor Item

These can return to a player's inventory at the end of a match

    e.g. Toolbox, Med-kits, Firecracker, etc

    * Special Item

Items related to playing against specific Killers

e.g. EMPs, the Lament Configuration, Vaccines from Nemesis

    * Temporary Item

Items that do not return to a player's inventory at the end of a match

e.g. the White Glyph's Pocket Mirror, Flashbang

So I think that both Hoarder and Franklin's Demise only work on Survivor Items

Hoarder triggers a Loud Noise Notification for 4 seconds, whenever Survivor performs any of the following actions within 32/48/64 meters of your location:

    • Unlocks a Chest
    • Picks up any item, including Limited items

So it either should work, or they forgot to just update it, which can be either one. Item is an item, picking it up should work anyway for Hoarder

  • they should add like "losers queue" for people who DC on the slightest inconvenience, so they get matched with each other and taste their own poison, instead of matching with people who actually can play the game

  • SWFs....

I hate them as both survivor and killer.

I didn't mind facing them as any of my main killers, but when I'm trying to learn a new killer I've never played before, it's kinda soul crushing to face a 40k+ sweat lords lobby. This problem got solved partially by custom lobbies, but I hope bots will get a bigger brain one day.

But they probably hurt me more when playing survivor. In solo Q there's no worse thing than being thrown into 3-man swf. They won't save anyone outside themselves, will leave you to die if they have an opportunity to leave, AND if they're a flashlight bully squad, they're not gonna touch gens at all and will blame you in the end chat that they stupidly died. I legit escape more matches with full solo Q squads than I ever did with swfs.

Situations like those made me frantically check everyone's profiles and dodge lobbies, which led to me spending more time "lobby shopping" than actually playing, so I just quit. I still follow the news and stuff, but for now, I don't see a reason to come back. And even if I did, I won't be able to play killer at all cuz with the matchmaking I won't be able to remind myself how to play.

I truly love dbd, but it's tough...

Nah, i rather have newer maps over expanding older realms with more maps.

one doesn't have to deny the other. We can have new maps added, but from the existing realm. Like with Red Forest. Plague and Huntress ain't even connected in the lore, and yet they share a realm with their maps. Adding a map to a realm would only lower the chance of getting a specific map through an offering

  • i saw someone on twitter show that it happened to them too, I don't think you can get banned over something you didn't do

  • I did research on this topic after last contests, cuz I was getting frustrated with the countries eligible never changing.

And the sad part is, MANY countries could be counted in, but it's simply too much work. From languages to laws. Some laws are stricter and some are passable, but they still need some effort to be put into it. And it's just probably not worth for them. And i don't think we'll ever see a change in this matter

  • Doctor and Legion are an amazing bp printers. You can slap distressing on both, since it affects their power + makes you reach the category bp cap faster. You don't need to have good games with them to leave with 30+k bp every game.

  • i think it might be one of those achievements that take a crap ton of time to kick in. Like for example i was doing the achievement for winning some matches using only 3 free perks, and 2 matches kicked in after 3 weeks

    Trickster

    Deathslinger

  • i usually don't give a damn about who brings what item, but sadly key users tend to just hide in corners and letting their teammates die. When not seeing the key user for longer time, i will try to find them. I won't force them out of the game immidiately, but i will remind them to take part in the match. I definitely don't want them as the last standing

  • if there was Boon in play, it can be detected by counterforce

  • first activation counts

  • my survivor games after the update: Every game someone's afk, DC's, suicides or just refuses to do gens, goes straight to killer to get killed faster.

And end game chats are about how killers are op now. Like BRUH. Killers have NO regressions left besides Jolt that's crap on most good killers. If you did the objective, you would escape more. Don't want to do gens? Loop the killer, but wait, YOU CAN'T without your DH. Survivors are running like headless chickens without DH holding their hands. I see many people switch to Sprint Burst and be surprised it's not as easy with it.

It's not killers fault for survivors having to learn to play.

I'm glad i never used DH in my life cuz i'd be the same crybaby right now

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Yes, because it is unbalanced map. 15+ pallets, jungle gyms, shack, good main building and everything connected together. So the classic new map desing for the past 1+ year.

I hate this map even when i'm playing survivor. Yeah, it's survivor sided but it's such an unfun map

  • i wish i could go back to Trickster's menu, it looked so cool

  • FOV slider, it's been discussed for ages.

We have afk crows for survivors, let's do something of this kind for killer, like forcefully DC an afk killer that's been standing around for more than 5 min (or less, since matches last around 5 min when survivors want to pop the gens as soon as possible). They'd get a penalty like for a normal DC.

BETTER COLORBLIND OPTIONS, PLEASE. I'm thinking like Overwatch did it. You can choose the colors you want to use for auras, etc. Currently colorblind options are so bad that it will change stuff from red to slightly more orange-y, but it doesn't matter, cuz when you gonna land on map like Borgo, you gonna get slapped with the red screen.

Since we got the visual terror radius from DBD Mobile, time for next step from there, which is SHARED INVENTORY. When a new character comes out, not everyone really feels like farming for a bp offering. Or maybe I'd like to use a flan to get the bp, and also play the new character without waiting until they're on decent lvl. There's also the case of running out of your items/offerings on your main, and other characters you lvled for perks have a lot of stuff you never gonna use, cuz you don't want to play as them for various reasons.

Map offerings should be gone, or old version of them should be brought back, when they didn't guaranteed a map. Map advantage is annoying, I'd rather have rng decide where we go

  • My reasonings for not using those isn't because i want to be a special snowflake.

I never in my career used DH/DS/UB, only meta pick in my build is adrenaline.

DH cuz i suck at timing, DS and UB because in my thousands of hours i got use out of them maybe twice.

As for killer i don't use gen kick perks. No matter how good they were, finding and kicking a gen imo was a waste of time i could use on another chase

  • I haven't seen Nemesis in months, Honorable mention of Hillbilly, i met one yesterday, but before that my last one was in april last year (bhvr really killed him lol)

  • nope, people tried when there was bp in prime

  • it was gone for a while, i do play Pinhead a lot, it got "fixed" some time ago and i guess it's back

  • oh boy, this bug is back again xD

  • *heavy basement Bubba breathing*

  • a fun change of pace between matches. Yeah it's predictable and can be really "meh", but it's a nice break

  • NOTHING beats 4.5.0 The Buggiest patch i've seen in my life. You can find compilations of it on youtube.

Phasing through walls on crotus prenn, spectator mode when entering lockers, EVERY killer had Freddy's lunge range (something with hit validation lmao), animations were wonky, Azarov maps were fatshaming in buses... Literally the more you search about that patch, the more random stuff you can find, 10/10 i miss it xD

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Alternatively just fix map offerings permanently by changing them to reduce the chance to be sent to a specific Realm.

or just delete them completely and let rng decide

  • because their statistics don't include games with DCs.

They cherry pick games, because 99% of the time survivors can't handle being downed/hooked first.

I'd love to see them doing something with the people who constantly DC when the game isn't going their way and just THEN provide us with clear stats

  • if i need a flashlight counter, i'll take Fire up.

It still does the job AND doesn't force survivors to sit on the gens. Also gets more uses the more game progresses, and survivors only think it's brutal strength

  • you didn't post clips but their location on YOUR pc, upload them somewhere

  • Pharmacy got reworked, now only works when you're injured

  • I don't mind them as a killer, because them wanting to escape as a group is a cause of many deaths.

But oh boy, I would PAY to never be matched with swfs when i'm in solo Q. There's a higher chance you'll get ANY help from a random, than from 3-man swf that doesn't care about anyone besides their group

  • it's an intended lingering effect to the tentacle, not a bug

  • Garden of Depression.

It wouldn't be THAT bad if the main building wasn't an automatic win for survivors

1 2 3 4 … 15
