This one and the Red Forest maps both need to be shrunk down badly like the swamps got. They are way too large to hold pressure on a lot of killers.
Ormond may be large but I haven't had problems maintaining pressure. I think it is in a good spot and there are many other maps to balance, like you said Red Forest

Downing a survivor (with shred as demogorgon) who was about to get to a safe loop or to the gates.
I don't see how that's more satisfying than a good blink or hatchet ;)

I think people shouldn’t put such heavy stock into what streamers say and form their own opinions and thoughts first. There’s such a creepy undercurrent of people just repeating and following what streamers say like mindless sheep and following what they do like some weird cult. Like seriously, Otz or Tru3 says something and then mysteriously everyone else starts repeating it. Or like in Otz’s case, he just smiles and laughs and people go “uwu marry me Otzichan uwu!”
These are just regular people playing in front of a screen, they don’t have some magical authority because they play to an audience and they might be good at the game.
You make a good point but I don't know what that has to do with their discussion

Survivor here. Camping and tunnelling are legitimate strategies so they shouldn't be punished. Yes they're annoying and can be unnecessary sometimes but killers gotta kill, just the same as survivors gen rush (gen rushing is not toxic, it's literally the objective) and juke killers.
why are legitimate strategies discredited by the game's systems?

Even though it is to late for this, just have survivors with different powers or "items." This would solve the fun gameplay, at the very least.
One or the other needs to come that's for sure

I don't think that's quite right.
Tru3 is a very talented player. The problem is, he mixes his own ability with the Killer's power.
Otz is almost as talented, coming from a similar gaming background. Otz really gets the core of the game.
Right I was just too lazy to think about what I type. Well put.
-
Tru3 is such a fake I stopped watching him after I hit red ranks as killer. Otz gets what the game is about.

If you think that way it is truly hard to explain most perks. Like, you are dying on the ground and because the last gen popped your wounds close and you become sonic?
It has something to do with the power of hope ;)

Still bad. Killer teleporting to the middle of the pallet when you thought they were at the end makes me drop pallets too early every time nowadays. The sad part is even when I drop the pallet super early the killer will get stunned

Maybe Survivors should have big, red exclamation marks on their head. I mean, I already know that Killers want ez 4Ks, but come on... At least use those balls in your head.
I dont think that the new Map is too dark. For once, it is a Dark Map. Like, on Thompsons House, I can watch from one side of the Map to the other... Does not look good at all.
The bigger problem on the new Map are the Bushes, Bamboo or whatever this stuff is called. The same as on the first Yamaoka-Map, where you can crouch and be invisible. Other than that, the Map is fine.
People aren't accepting of the idea of a stealth map.

oh,ur right on that, but for that reason it has those weird maze like tiles :/
I find that if you know your way around they can work for either side. A good killer can path them so the survivor can't safely reach the window while a good survivor can lose LoS and gain some distance while the killer tries to keep track of a window the survivor didn't plan on vaulting. It is weird but I don't see how it can be abused.

I wouldn't say the map lacks windows at all,it's the same as other maps IMO(macmillan, autohaven etc.)
Oh right I said windows instead of T and Ls. It doesn't really make much of a difference.

@ZtarShot said:
Every survivor should have different powers or items, exclusive to them. Like Jake's toolbox or Dweet's locker key. (Could turn that into an actual idea)
Yes I want a reason to play individual survivors >:(((
-
Ormond is balanced by 3 gen potential. Pressure gens right and it's in the bag. The lack of windows on this map mean late game for survivors is even worse. Not the worst map I'd put Haddonfield very far above it and the indoor maps. The maps that are too big definitely need a change too.

But my point still stands. And people don't "rely" On them, but they do use them every so often. Like the UR's for flashlights, med kits, and tool boxes. Killers on the other hand though, not so much. Are UR's are mostly horrible.
You just said, people don't rely on them. They won't miss 'em when they're gone. Flashlight UR got nerfed nobody cared, same with toolbox (although it's still broken) and let's not forget when instaheals got killed. You'd have to be pretty ridiculous to think instaheals were fair.

Borrowed time buffed along with a freddy nerf, legion nerfed and oni nerfed.
Gee why wouldn't killers want to play? When a swf that slams gens and can sit at a position in most loops to react to what you do and be safe along with 4 second chance perks then dcs spirit and nurse until they're nerfed making killers have little to no options to consistently beat swfs that play optimally and then if theres anything even somewhat good they still dc and can cause a forced de pip, survivors often times will close their game against moris despite having keys and toolboxes, killer seems really fun atm especially with me getting 2 downs a 5 gens and then losing 2 gens by the time I hook both, bring ruin you say? Oh wait, you already spawned on it.
When did Borrowed Time get buffed? Where did medkits and Balanced Landing go?
-
Sometimes I accidentally go afk as killer because I expect queue to last 20 minutes it only lasts 15

@Vetrathene said:
I know both sides have been buffed and nerfed, and that the game in some ways has gotten better from release, and in some ways worse. SWF ruined everything to start off. It made the game a mess that is nearly unbalancble. And it when it comes down to who is stronger, its still survivors, which is why all of these killer nerfs, especially to some of the weakest are completely unnecessary and just kind of a slap in the face. It also looks like doctor will be getting nerfed, as it looks like they are targeting his ability to find survivors, one of the few things that actually make him decent. And while there have been some survivor nerfs, such as medkit and balanced landing, it isn't even close compared to what is being done to killers while refusing to buff the already weak ones. If they would focus on redesigning maps so that they are more fair for both sides across the board that would help. But as they are taking thier time with that it would be better to give weak killers buffs instead of nerfing the already strong ones. They are supposed to be the power role for gods sake, but the devs don't seem to understand how an asymmetrical game is supposed to work.
Nerfs always have priority over buffs

No. This is the opposite of the Legions function.
Legion is specialized on dealing with Groups.
This Killer is specialized on dealing with isolated targets.
I don't see how hitting a healthy survivor and walking away makes it so you have to isolate targets.

A few seconds of aura reading for no power all game and to be a loud M1 killer is a deal any survivor would take.
imo smacking healthy survivors is much more viable than sniffing around for blood orbs

Tbh the addon was just decently good before, but now the nerfs to it seemed really unnecessary. They really seem intent on making all killers ultra rares bad. A good group of survivors that realizes he is running this addon are going to abuse him for it hard.
Having their auras seen all game is kind of a downside

There is probably also an effect of imitation, of conformism.
Kindred was not immediately used as massively when it was changed, but last night I saw that two or even the other three survivors were using it... so I did the same. Maybe we'll see it less and less used in the future. Or not.
I had not thought of Open Handed, it is actually very interesting in addition, especially that it benefits the entire team (and is cumulative?).
However, I continue to disagree with all of this.
Just like Ruin and BBQ for killers, the game deserves that all the perks are balanced, so that we use them by affinity, and not only because they are much better than others. It's a shame to have so many perks, but to use so few.
Kindred adds a problem: it is useless for the SWF, but becomes unavoidable for solo players. It does not seem healthy to me.
I still think that Kindred should be basekit, and that matchmaking should not have special and arbitrary rules for the SWF.
+1

Its a good thing this isn't really serious and is just a talking point and something fun I thought up to post about.
The data they released also doesn't say anything other than "this is the popularity of killers and their kill rate" which is really uninformative and ripe for conjecture in and of itself.
I don't play Killer but I like discussing data, putting it under scrutiny and asking questions, theorize where it might come from and if there is anything that we can gleam from it.
"I suppose this mostly stems from a few things, pushing for certain killer buffs, being unwilling to accept they may play worse than the average killer, or straight up victim complex."
But I'm glad to see you aren't judging me prematurely or anything.🤷♀️
They said multiple times it's based off of end game screen though.

This is what I've been saying! She was THE model for killers to follow. Strong and versatile power that you can use whenever and however you want. If they had done more like her this game could've been the tits.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/913690#Comment_913690
This is where I disagree, I don't think they should make her weaker but instead bring other killers up to her level. She was the model killer for skill:reward and there was counterplay on survivors part that most choose to ignore/not use, and the counterplay actually took skill as well.
Now any survivor can loop Nurse, and there is a hard cap on your skill to reward ratio since you are limited after every single blink no matter what. You can only do so much with a finite amount of possibilities.
Nurse is still the best killer in the game. Don't kid around
-
@JC316 said:
Up her base move speed or stop her from looking at the ground in fatigue. I can do 2-4K with the base setup with every killer in the game, except for her. I couldn't even down a survivor without NOED.
Nurse takes skill and practice. Once you have that she is S tier no doubt about it

Arguable, this is probably balanced out by survivors giving up on first hook or sabotaging their team in other ways.
I will say it's pretty sad to see the mental hoops some killer partisans have jumped through in order to discount the stats that came out last month. From the beginning the devs said that the stats don't represent the whole picture because there are a number of factors that weren't revealed by those graphs. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be enough for some that don't want to accept the stats for what they are.
I've seen people:
-Claim that the stats are inaccurate, which they aren't. They're true, but they only show what they show, nothing more, nothing less.
-Invent Conjecture on outside influences, which is fair, but ultimately completely based on unfounded theory and anecdotal evidence.
-Create conspiracy theories like this one with seemingly no basis in reality.
I suppose this mostly stems from a few things, pushing for certain killer buffs, being unwilling to accept they may play worse than the average killer, or straight up victim complex. This isn't exclusive to killer partisans, I've seen plenty of survivor partisans exhibit these attitudes as well. It just seems that recent killer changes have really stirred up some bad feelings in killer partisans.
Good point.
