Is Wraith really at the center of it though, or is it more about playing to pip vs playing to 3-4K, how the difference in mentality affects tier/viability lists, and how the ranking system should be changed, if it at all? And if so...why isn't the discussion centered on the flaws of the ranking system and how a game as RNG as DbD could possibly track a player's own personal skill and reflect that ingame in a way that's both meaningful to the player and impactful with matchmaking?
Damn that comment was so insightful I'm crying rn

the idea is for her to be able to know which gens likely need to be stopped and allow her to cross-map hatchet towards said generator. Legion and Wraith have similar addons
I get that but as others have said there are better ways to accomplish this.

It should be very difficult to prevent the killer from hooking a survivor they have downed. If you spent 4 or 5 minutes chasing someone to down them, and then you either get flashlight blinded or they wiggle out, there's an extremely small chance you are going to get anything more than 1 kill during that match. Not having anybody on your team to help you out as killer to prevent that from happening makes that situation very frustrating.
From my experience using Breakout, if 2 survivors take a hit while the killer is carrying a survivor, they can wiggle out. That's so much better than the usual ~3 hits it normally takes. It still requires team coordination (along with a bunch of other circumstantial things), but seems very balanced to me. It can be used to prevent your teammate from dying if they have been getting tunneled, but can't be abused too easily by swf groups to bully the killer to the point where they can't get a hook.
2 hits for a hook seems pretty balanced, well put mate

Otz is very good and chill guy to watch. Destroys everyone most of the times WITHOUT ruin and he has deep knowledge about this game.
Tru3 is a big whiner and depressive streamer to watch. And most importantly is money hungry. Also he can't play without ruin.
Otz is on another level
It's sad to see so many people believe Tru3 over Otz

you have to get hook for bbq, with this addon you just need to hold an axe. also the devs dont do good pinks anyways.
Sure that's true, but shouldn't the pinks be equal in power somewhat?

And they'd be wrong to use these stats as a full representation of the game's balance as well.
Also, many people say that these stats simply don't represent the game's balance perfectly, since there are factors that influence these stats. Of course they can't be ignored and need to be considered as well when balancing the game.
I never said using stats as a full representation of the game's balance was a good thing. In fact, that's one of many problems I have with OP but that doesn't discredit what they're trying to say.

You could get similar info from bbq or thrilling tremors. This add on is especially bad because bbq is a must have for Huntress.

Slightly changing gen speeds has the same positive effects as slightly changing hook distance

If you immediately chase no, but it will take a bit before it starts to become a large advantage in catching up.
And basically the intention is this:
When you place an Oman on a Survivor it makes them Oblivious, but since they are notified you can't take advantage of it.
The Hindered effect takes time to build up (I'll alter it cuz I'm realizing I overdid that portion of the power a bit) so that further incentivizes going off for a bit to find them again later.
The Hindered effect could even be replaced if I come up with a better alternative (maybe aura reading?)
However if there is a second person then they can remove the effect, forcing the Killer to try and go in without as much set up, the eventual result is Survivors being forced to group up in order to Survive.
I still don't know how the survivors grouping up is going to stop you from downing a marked survivor

The problem is that hooking survivors is the killers objective. And not making it to a hook in time so that the survivor can escape the killers grasp hurts the killer a lot, in a game where gens can get repaired very fast. Denying a killer their objective is something that should barely ever happen.
I said .1 meter. They'll be fine bud

"Unfun". Okay. Would it be more fun if survivors got to pick my perks for me? Maybe we should implement that. Because disconnecting is totally okay if the killer is somebody you don't really like, so this way they won't disconnect anymore since they will get to pick my build! Sounds great!
Why is everyone with this pfp so toxic and biased?
RELATED: this is why they added disconnect penalty

That’s the beauty of data analysis. I don’t have to smoke cigarettes for 20 years to see for myself that they cause cancer. And it isn’t just Otz and Tru3... the data shows all red rank killers in that range. Again...FACTS.
People deny facts when they don't support their view. If stats said 80% escape rate guess who would be invoking the stats in every post.

This would actually be a really good idea. I just fear it would be too good when stacking with Ruin. I get that you can go look for and try to find the totem, but sometimes it's hidden in a really good spot, and generator progress would just stall like crazy in that case, hurting all kind of survivor teams except maybe the best of the best.
CI needs no love. It's already better than Ruin doesn't need a buff

I've ran whispers is terrible and nebulous especially on multi leveled maps. Unless you're in an area with little cover all it does is make you waste time looking for a survivor when they could literally be seeing you and just avoiding you just by walking around an object and tracking where to go so you don't see them.
Use your ears

@Venom368 said:
"Winning" is inherently subjective in this game. The ranking system & emblems give somewhat of a structure, but that's it.
Sure you can call a 4k a win for killer. You can call surviving a win for that survivor, or a 0k a win for the survivors. But it doesn't matter. All that matters is if you enjoyed playing the match. Stats mean nothing about the experience I have when playing either role.
I know when I'm having fun when playing the game, and when I'm not. I can die and still have fun. I can 4k and feel like a scumbag. This is not a competitive game. I think too many people have the mindset that they need to win. If you arent having fun, play differently or play a different game.
I think the game is more balanced now than it's ever been, and I have fun in both roles. It seems to me that more than 80% of the community has more fun playing survivor rather than killer, though. Otherwise there wouldnt be 15 minute survivor queue times, right?
Finally someone gets it :)
-
Overall, until survivors are as skilled as they can possibly be the killers have the advantage. Then when they are killers have disadvantage, unless they are as skilled as they can possibly be then they are never at a disadvantage ever. Sounds super survivor sided.

Dedicated servers screw killers just as much. Stalking with Mikey and Ghostface is better than what it was when the servers were introduced, but still dodgy. Huntress' hatchets are a total crapshoot, clown's bottles often break in place, despite visually seeing the projectile move. The dedicated servers are honestly awful for killers who don't just smack survivors.
Yep it is awful for both sides

What makes you want them further apart?
It wouldn't change much for killer but as survivor I would like it if taking hits had an impact. too many times has the wiggle bar been 95+%. Maybe just .1 of a meter would be nice

Problem - Any increase to Survivor Objective Time will be a massive buff to camping and tunneling as a whole. (on top of killers in general)
"Solution" people bring up here - Well increase hook time. that'll balance that.
Problem - You're telling me you want Survivors to spend more time either on the hook in a hopeless and inputless state against a camper while the other Survivors spend more time M1'ing or whatever lame little "activity" you guys come up with?
"Gen Rush", "Camping", and "Tunneling" play off of each other. You cannot just tack on more objective time and expect Camping and Tunneling to not be more drastically more effective and cause more suicides on hooks as players don't want to sit for a LONGER time period staring at themselves on a hook.
The overall objective time wouldn't increase by more than 45 seconds if done correctly like in my idea. Plus this will buff new survivors as they have something to do if they are scared of gens. Plus this will stop people from saying the game is survivor sided when killers control the game (for example in my idea they can use PGTW to get the gen below 50% again and add an additional 20+ seconds to objective time, killers and survivors both have more active roles). As for camping and tunneling, Kindred basekit could also come in. The only problem with my idea is that it buffs swf over solo queue but Kindred basekit and a Spare Part tracker survivors can see would also help with that. Maybe also a Better Together buff so you can see gens that are at 50% but still need a Spare Part and see survivors within Bond range that have at least 1 Spare Part. Just some thoughts, I would like to hear more of yours :)

Mend time reduced and you can run to make the bar not go down, medkits? The green insanely fast, balanced as an exhaust perk is exactly the same, they removed what survivors were abusing for infinites and replaced it for a stealth secondary effect. It got nerfed for making things infinites and buffed for stealth.
If your referring to insta heals, let's have a chat about 2 items, one of which is basically the same vs a whole character and all her addons at the same time.
Killers had one perk made not to create infinites while survivors got freddy's bullshit build nerfed, which could be argued to be even and killers got the new killer nerfed and made less fun.
looks like neither side were hit too badly (except for the fact that everyone and their mom was using BL). BL is dead now. Freddy was broken and Oni's 180 flick was not intended
-
If the devs didn't want survivors to escape a lot of their choices would make sense. Especially for the ranking system. As survivor you must learn over time to not care about escaping. This is parallel to the in game lore that survivors slowly lose hope as they escape only to die 3 times before escaping again only to die more. Killers have more power than they give themselves credit for.
-
There needs to be a way to hook survivors slugged together though
-

The counterplay exists but is the opposite of most Killers. You need to group up so you can quickly remove Omans or pick up Survivors after they become marked.
Unlike the Majority of Killers where it's better to split up.
Why did you ignore me. If you get within 12m of a survivor I doubt another survivor can channel on them for 8 seconds.
-
@ZtarShot said:

I think search times should be a little less. 20 seconds is twenty seconds you could heal, unhook, or do the half generator you could complete. Maybe 10 seconds and also carry 2-3 spare parts at a time.
This 20 seconds comes from the time shaved off of generators. (Yes BNP buys you over 20 seconds guaranteed now, get over it)

WGLF is only worth is you care about bp. If you care about escaping or pipping or helping your team you will choose anything else. If you run WGLF go back to killer

Because they make the game unfun for the other team. Losing points for camping is just meant as a slight incentive to play in a way that is more fun for the other team. BHVR's goal is to make sure the majority of people playing each role are having fun doing so. It's the same reason any balance patch happens.
Good point.

Not sure what that has to do with the points being made. I already thought killers were extremely weak in this game long before I saw true and quite frankly I'm not a fan of true because he constantly complains about it. When I watch him I'm just like YES KILLERS SUCK WE ALL KNOW . My favorite dbd streamer is monto and from what I can tell he doesn't get involved in any of the killer viability non sense he's. Just fun to watch lol
I can't handle players who complain all game. Sometimes I can't even watch Otz because he gets too angry or his chat is being even more toxic than usual. Monto complains sometimes too but he gets over it fast, he's just being emotional reactive and entertaining.
