If his portals are in a good place, they are cleansed immediately, if they aren't, then they are left alone because he has a limited number.
Haha I thought you didn't know how to play him. Watch some good gameplay of him and come back and tell me his portals are useless.

I wish we had MORE blood point capacity at this point. I stockpile now too. Kind of just comes or goes with the mood I have on what to spend it on. WHich is nothing. lolz. It'd be nice if we could just buy items in the blood point store as well. I have LOTS of grays i will never use, and want to buy a billion purple flashlights or keys, or it'd be nice to cash out several gray items for a green, yellow or purple. >:-D
More bp capacity would be nice.

His Shred is very punishing to use in console, I have noticed it makes me lag a lot. His portals aren't that useful, as they can be cleansed and are loud af.
Lol you don't know how to play Demo correctly if you complain about his portals being cleansed. I agree with fps problems which is probably why nobody plays him.

Yeah, that's the idea. I'd rather have that than press m1 mindlessly at a gen for 80 seconds, because quite frankly hitting good skill checks doesn't require any skill.
You can't just change how skill checks work though.
-
I would disagree with Demo placement but I don't see other people play him much. Optimal play with portals and STBFL make him very strong but I haven't seen him played since release. Sad.

They are good because they don't make the gen explode.
They still make the gen regress so no.

BS. I've ran good Nurses. A Trapper has a better chance of killing me than a basekit Nurse.
Are you remembering the same Nurse I am? 4k no add ons or perks at red ranks. Maybe I'm thinking of a different game?

No, they are good. It would be bad if you miss one.

If you want to be a [BAD WORD] just report farmers. I myself am not passing up free bp no matter how "boring" it is.

No thank you, we don't need bandaid fixes like ruin. Let's rather either create second objective for survivors or buff killers to allow them to preassure big maps better.
Also ruin is quite annoying to play against when you can't find it and you suck at skillchecks so it's a double no from me.
Or you could fix those big maps. The devs will do none of the above because cosmetics, battle pass, DLCs are more important.

Basekit was fine the issue was her addons which many Nurse mains stated for years needed to be change. Many survivor and non-Nurse mains also saying the basekit was fine. You will find strong opinions on both sides and also those that believe they didn't go far enough.
Regardless, the overboard nature of the change and the feedback given about it was completely ignored. No suggestion from players that actually played the killer were taken into consideration.
To the point of best basekit among other killers maybe that needs to be fixed by improving other killers instead of balancing for the lowest common denominator.
The problem with her basekit being the best is that it was so good survivors had no chance of escaping. You want all killers to have that much power basekit? Well that's what I get for thinking a killer main wouldn't be biased.
-
@Xerge said:
Instead of making ruin basekit I think they should tweak gens progression; remove progression bonus from great skill checks and regress the gen 2% if you hit a good skill check. In my opinion this would make doing the gens more interesting and also not as frustrating as ruin, because it would actually take some skill to finish them in 80 seconds or less.
Then they aren't actually good skill checks. They are bad. No, this is terrible.

You have to be productive to pip.

If no one was toxic and the game was actually decently long without being a curb stomp on either side it gets a gg. A "gg" is for it actually being in fact a "good game". If those aforementioned things happened then it wasn't a good game.
SWF will "almost" never get a gg aside from the occasional really friendly group. There's nothing "good game" about playing a game against someone using unbalanced advantages of which you have no counter.
"Unbalanced advantages"
Your posts are so fun to read after realizing I don't need to take any of them seriously. 😊
-
I usually stay quiet when I win unless they say gg to me. I say gg when I lose if they did good plays and ran a fun build instead of sweating hard. I always say gg back.
-
Would fix so many problems and give people a new reason to gain experience in the game.

I don't think ruin is mandatory; I regularly win without it at rank 1.
And basekit ruin would make Killers too powerful,no doubt.
They should look into a second objective 🕵
Imagine the devs improving the experience for both sides instead of working on DLCs and cosmetics.

That is where I play, so I can only speak for that particular group.
My brother does tell me that Rank 15-20 q's are a nightmare.
Sorry I thought you meant all ranks. Even at purple ranks both queues are instant but red rank survivor even solo queue takes 5+ mins. I play on xb1 btw.
-
I went against someone abusing speed not too long ago. They did eventually lose their speed when I picked up a survivor near them. They said it was a DH bug but I suspect a breakout bug because they were running it. I also managed to kill them after.

no.
as a killermain i would not like that.
this whole post is build on the premise that "ruin is a necessary perk for all killers", which is just wrong. i never use ruin, unless i literally dont have anything better on that killer.
ruin, in its current state, is incredibly overrated by many players. against good survivors its literally useless, in the wrong spot its literally useless and you, as the killer, usually end up worrying way too much about the totem. ive seen people throw games just to go out of their way to protect the totem. the worst part of the perk is, that, once it has been found, its literally 100% a dead perk. you have to play the entire game with only 3 perks then. thats really just not worth it, not at all.
now, to come back to the main topic and why i would HATE ruin to be basekit:
it would draw too much attention to totems.
in the end, this would mean nothing other than a big middlefinger to all the other, sneaky, totem perks killers have, such as Devour Hope or No One Escapes Death. these wouldnt survive the first minute eigther, as now everyone and their mother would run after totems, in order to get rid of Ruin.
if you want ruin to take effect, use the perk. but you have to live with the consequences that comes with, namely 1 potentially dead perk slot if the totem is discovered.
please dont try to force ruin uppon other players, such as myself, who dont want to use it.
thank you.
I agree honestly. I didn't think about the other poor totem perks that are already terrible because even I start looking for Ruin before I even know the killer has it because they always have it.

That is why you listen to feedback from both sides, particularly the better players. What the devs seem to do is listen to the masses who play survivor.
I think killers and survivors give an equal amount of feedback, unless you're talking about somewhere else.
-
@Mr_K said:
Most Devs don't know how to play their own game at high levels. It's not uncommon.
The team that responsible for balancing the killer power just listens to what survivors find annoying and they try to fix them without taking in mind the feedback for the player that main those killers.
100%
I wouldn't trust the main of one side to give feedback on that side if I was a dev. I probably wouldn't even trust them to give feedback on the opposite side. For example: Many Nurse mains thought Nurse's basekit was fine. While the change to it they did made her miserable, her basekit being better by far than every other killer is slightly problematic.

You have to admit green -red rank survivors of they are good are destroying killer. Killer is cleaning up grey and yellow
Yeah ruin basekit would be a good quick fix if it stayed a totem.

A free perk slot for killers. Why not people will keep complaining either way.

No you wont. Iron grasp and agitation still wont get you there. Even if you close the hatch they will straight run to the opposite side. I dont get what youre not understanding about this. And if you manage to finally be able to throw them in basement they DC. Every time. Like i said they have to let you.
When they escape you can catch them again and carry them there, getting there eventually.

It significantly easier to watch the aura of a killer with your eyes than it is to verbally relay the killers location. I play a lot of survive with friends. If you think that this wouldn't be a buff to SWF groups in general, you may want to try playing in a group some time. Heck, try telling your teammates where the killer is while you're hooked on an indoor map. Then come back and tell me that the hooked survivor is basically a killer location beacon.
The hooked survivor can almost always see the killer within 8m. How to relay communication? Key locations/survivors or if you're a true sweat you can do degree angles from the front of your hook.
-
@Oreades said:
Wouldn't changing it to only apply after the struggle state just encourage people to facecamp the survivor until they are in the struggle state and then allow them to be unhooked? Thus changing virtually nothing about the current dynamic?
I get that survivors likely hate Mories (I have not run into many of them personally) because they feel cheated but how often do they consider the tools at their disposal for ruining the killers enjoyment of the game?
In a perfect world people wouldn't need to worry about any of these things because everyone would just play to enjoy the game instead of playing to win at all cost and that goes for both sides.
Camping is easy to counter. Irrelevant comment.
-
Would kill immersion though, which devs keep holding on to even though over 50% of players don't even care.

Pfft, bias detected. Okay buddy. Ive played both sides of this game for long enough to know in general whats a good and what's a bad idea. And lemme tell you, playing as survivor, (and I know this is a crazy concept) you can't always see the hook. Weird right? And you wanna know something else? Even if you CAN see the hook. It doesn't guarantee your teammates can either! Its almost like you're not the only survivor in the game when you really think about it.
I'm saying the hooked survivor can see the hook. Are you so biased you forgot hooked survivors are players too?
-
@Troman said:
I already suggested it in another thread, will do it again: for Kindred as a basekit remove Killer aura reading completely. Instead add an indicator showing if killer is inside the 16m radius (or some other radius) of the hooked survivor. It can be done in any possible way: by adding some icon, by changing hooked survivor's aura color, it doesn't matter.
This way the OP killer aura reading is gone (as survivor you don't have any precise info about the killer anymore) and solo survivors still know if the killer is camping or not.
Great idea
-
@Cetren said:
Its already been stated that kindred won't be basekit. So I wouldn't have high hopes for such a change being implemented. And its not hard to see why. Knowing which direction the killer is heading is allows you to play as efficiently as possible. The survivor who the killer is heading towards has time to finish up their gen or run and hide, maximising the time it takes the killer to catch them as the "Hold W Warrior."
Then the closest survivor to the hook obviously assuming that they aren't the killers next target goes to the unhook while the 4th stays on whatever generator they're on. Inefficiency with hook states is something that the killer stands to benefit from. Even in my SWF group and comms with a teammate or two the situation can happen where we play our unhooks inefficiently. Kindred removes that from the equation. I understand the argument for then being able to buff killers, but I just seriously doubt that have a line of unique buffs for every killer in the game just to make up for the basekit change of survivors having an extra perk that enables perfect unhook efficiently permanently. I just don't see it as a postive or realistic change in any way.
You can already see what direction the killer is headed with your eyes. Bias detected. This nerf to Kindred would make it useless to swf cause they are already on comms giving info.
