Realistically? None. Simply becuz killers would probably hate/want to kill each other out of pure nature alone.
Survivors would have a hard time talking to one another without translators and the only people who could get along are people who speak the lingua franca, English.
Now, if we were to talk about characters that could interact, (outside of English speakers) I would guess:
Adam, Yui and Yoichi as Adam knows at least basic Japanese.
Maybe Yun-Jin and Jake as both speak Korean.
They may be not "besties" but they'd get their message across.
-
PC... maybe.
Consoles? Heck no. But then again, consoles ruin the fun for everyone in 2022.

Well they are certainly not top priority.
but still… they started to do them and just for consistency should finish them as well. And the killer aesthetics are a big part of the game.
What if they sought to rework only a handful of them?
I don't remember devs promising an overhaul of killer models like they did with the survivors...

You see them when playing survivor. Also on lobby and beginning of a match and Mori animations.
Nah.... still not convinced. Survivors I understand, cuz you literally see them all game long, but reworking all the outfits and models for killers is overkill.
They should not be top priority over game balancing, etc.
-
You only look at their weapons/arms when you actually play them, so why on earth are their models so important?

You mean the only good perk that came out of All-Kill? I see it still. Pretty prevalent in regards to less mobile killers.
It kinda loses its purpose after 2 kills tho...

Their post says they've banned it because people keep bringing up his views and obviously arguments are breaking out and they don't have time to moderate them all. It's not specifically due to his views, it's because of the redditors fighting amongst themselves and creating too much hassle for mods.
If his views are that detrimental to the point it affects people's perception of the games themselves, they need to stop playing all games altogether.
There are many things I disagree with BHVR, Blizzard, Riot, Square Enix, Tencent, Bandai Namco, Capcom, SNK and etc, but I don't stop playing good games just because I disagree with their viewpoints.
Actions speak louder than words.

Lets not get into the political discussion on this platform either please...we've had the same issues here, that people struggle to discuss the concept and it turns into a political fight, if this thread goes the same way - I will close it.
If you think closing this thread is inevitable, then I suggest you do it before things get out of hand.
The topic literally discusses about someone who is politically controversial. You can't possibly think that this won't get political.

in my opinion people really blew it out of proportion
Cancel culture really shines brightly in 2022 doesn't it? Cancelling anybody's opinions just becuz they disagree.
The dude has all the rights to believe LGBT is wrong. The same way I believe HE'S wrong. But no.... people don't want public discourse anymore, they care about their feelings 24/7.

Same concept applies to HP Lovecraft. People love his work, but his political views were considered racist even for his day
My point exactly.
Trust me, looking at Blizzard, Riot and many other AAA companies, I can assure you that most of the people who make great games are bigots.
-
I mean... who cares.
People like his games not the person who makes them.
MJ can be called a predator the next hundred years, but his music is still great.

“Just do bones” is a bad argument and I’m tired of hearing every other killer defend noed with it. The same way I’m also tired of survivors saying it to defend coh.
It is not practical counterplay to either boons or noed, with a different reason for each.
No argument here.
I just don't use CoH and am frustrated with dealing with NOED, but gets blamed every time I try to prevent it. There's nothing really I can do atm. sigh...

You know, that's what I told the Mikaela... that there are other sources of healing instead of CoH, but she told me to get with the times and proceeded to call me an "idiot who uses perks that are no longer viable" lol

It's a meme like I said, I don't think you actually read what I said.
I did, but Tr1nity firmly seems to believe doing bones is rightfully justified...
-
So many contradicting advice from multiple sources... I dunno who to follow anymore...
-
@Pepsidot said:
Was the Mikaela pointing at you when you were cleansing? If I was you I would have stopped to see if she would Boon it (if so).
Also to answer your question: The "do bones" strategy to prevent NOED isn't usually viable and... the killer might not even have it. Furthermore, Pentimento now exists so the whole "do bones" strategy is even less appealing. You need to be on gens against killers that have good pressure, cleansing totems should be an afterthought. So I would never "do bones". You should take your opponents advice (killers) with a pinch of salt (also "do bones" is an actual meme).
The best thing to do is to take a mental note of where you've seen totems throughout the match and if there is NOED, hopefully you can therefore cleanse it quickly.
The comment made by T1nity proves your advise otherwise...

Well…
Do them anyway, if someone wants to ######### about it ignore them.
Out of 4 games I did bones, 2 of them blamed me for wasting time and 1 told me I was trash.
I don't want to hear those things for doing smth others advised me to do.

I JUST got it like 3 seconds ago. Unintentionally.

I still have no clue as to how to get this charm...

Jake's Lunar Fusion pants. Makes him look like he has a diaper on him.
Onryo's skin. It looks nasty.
Leon's sweater. Makes him look fat.
Jonah's tank top. Seeing him in that in Ormond just baffles me sometimes.

Thank you all.

Even SCII, an engine developed way back in 2006/7-ish can provide a functioning replay feature. BHVR which uses an engine which was developed at least since 2015 should be a piece of cake.
Embarrassing to say the least.

Hopefully an Original character... Kind of sick of half-baked licensed killers coming to DBD now.
Out of the last 5 killers, only 2 were original. Fingers crossed, we get to some new face.

I wouldn't go that far as to say Meg & Jake's (shoutout to Claudette too) tomes were bad. Especially Meg's and Claudette's I thoroughly enjoyed.
Meg had real character development as being an independent yet compassionate athlete who not only had to take care of her sickly mother, but also had to deal with rivalry and jealously within her own team. That resonated with me a lot.
Claudette's tome allowed us to look inside her childhood more and how her parents reacted differently to their "not normal" daughter. We get to learn that her mom was a lot like her but decided to giver her a second chance that she never could have.
Jake's had LOTS of retcons (bigger brother -> younger brother, born in America -> immigrant, living months outside -> just left the house) but all in all it made Jake have more agency in his relationship with his family members and the predicament he was in. We also got to know that his grandfather might've been taken by the Entity in the past too.
Although not all of them are great, I think I enjoy the tomes more than most people here.
Yes, I did enjoy Meg's tome. It made me appreciate her more as a character than those Megheads who give her a bad rep.
Claudette's was okay-ish. Kind of short and boring, but since she was one of the first to ever receive a tome, it was understandable.
Jake's... was meh. Too many retcons for me to appreciate it. The whole time I was reading it, I was like "Wait what? So did his brother graduate from Yale or not?" lol

Honestly it's a theory I read about.
There's two different styles of writing. One has horrible grammar, like no speech marks, random paragraphs, badly edited, etc. One is near impeccable in terms of grammar, even if the stories can be a bit naff.
Hmmm, interesting...
Could be, but that's a huge leap of faith to reach that conclusion. And if that was to be true, that would be funny AF.

Like I said, 2 different writers 🏃🏻
I wouldn't go so far as to say that there are only "two" specific writers... then what about all the mediocre ones like Clown, Wraith, Spirit, Dwight, Meg or Jake?
Is there a third writer who writes meh stories?
-
@Chadku said:
Did it start with All-Kill or earlier that characters had lengthy bios?
Earlier than All-Kill.
But All-Kill did have one of the best writing in DBD history, so I guess not all of their works are bad.
-
I think the issue has to do with licensing or at least finding a decent outfit that Capcom thinks it's appropriate for DBD.
Regarding legendary characters. Yes and no. They're cool outfits, but I doubt they're considered standalones.

Babadook was an alright movie, but as far as I remember the monster did basically nothing, it was all just like psychological build up. There are definitely Australian licensed characters I'd like to see, Mick Taylor from Wolf Creek, Lola from The Loved Ones or Erin from You're Next, but as the thread was about originals I was thinking more about how BHVR would go about an original Australian killer, which would probably end up some awful Indigenous mythological creature.
We pretty much only have 2 anyone's ever heard of, the Yowie which is just Bigfoot and more associated with a kid's chocolate than a monster, and the Bunyip which is just the most generic water-dwelling creature ever.
Maybe they'll think of something :)
They made a K-Pop singer into a killer for heaven's sake. haha

"Survivors: Bait it out" & "Killers: Do bones" are the two dumbest excuses anybody has come up with since the release of DBD.
Not only does Dead Hard extend unnecessary chases, but it also quite literally changes my screen to follow the survivor that's currently Dead Harding and it makes me get a split-second headache.
I wish DH becomes a Boon perk where only those in the Boon area can Dead Hard.

As long as face camping is viable killers will always do it. No amount of changes to discourage it will ever change that.
As for DH I really don't have much sympathy here. If it gets nerfed, killers will move on to the next thing they want nerfed. That's just how this goes.
Same goes for us survivors too by the way.
But instead of playing the whataboutism game, how about actually facing the problem of DH being too prevalent in every game you play and balancing it according to the facts?
Your logic of not nerfing dead hard simply because "killers will cry over another perk" is moot because it holds no objective argument except for opinionated claims.
-
Agreed, even as a survivor main and maybe it's because I never use it, it's still a stupid perk, not to mention a selfish perk that does nothing but extend chases for a tedious amount.
If Dead Hard was not meta there'd be less camping and tunneling. But then again, there's NOED so DH users can make excuses over that.
Wish both perks were nerfed so that we can play DBD normally again.
-
As a fellow Jake main, I condemn this mofo for being a sore loser.
Dear survivor mains...
If you T-Bag during chase, at the exit gate, click flashlights faster than life itself, you are considered to be a prick and are no better than those toxic campers/tunnelers you so despise.
Learn to play the game casually and stop trying to gloat.
We're all here to have fun, not frustrate one another for personal amusement.
-
For what it's worth, Jeff did receive a small change in his hair/face when all the other survivors were updated... so... But yes, his body model is a little too big.
-
Shouldn't this be in the bug section?
-
Pure mind game IMO.
Also, if you close hatch, EGC turns on and it's just a simple mouse hunt from there and even if you don't catch them, they'll die anyway.
