You stayed in the basement and could have picked me up while the killer hooked the other two. So no, I'm not gonna suicide on hook for you so you can potentially get hatch.
Anyone ever felt this way in a match? Any thoughts?
I think everyone that plays survivor a good amount has.
My whole stance is - I try to be the best teammate possible. Whether its saving, healing, gens, bones, taking a hit for someone who is on death hook, etc. So when I see a teammate just crouching around the map or hiding for majority of the match, it rubs me the wrong way. I shouldn't have to carry you on my back and then you being entitled, think I'm going to kill myself to let you get hatch. I will stay on hook and root for the killer to find you and kill you instead.
Now if you're actually a good teammate who did their part during the match and things just didn't go our way, thats fine. No problem dying on 2nd hook to give you a chance.
Its just the teammates that do very little or if they contribute to their team dying (like dive bombing unhooks) that makes me go 'Hey, you know what. You don't deserve to escape over the other 3 of us who did gens, got safe unhooks and heals, ran the killer, etc while you hid/ran around the map'.
Also just finished a match where 3 of us got out with 18-19k and the 4th teammate barely scratched 12k. Just makes me wonder what the hell you were doing the entire match.
-
Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Kindred/Prove Thyself
The first 3 are the big ones. Adrenaline will heal you at end-game. Just think about being in a chase injured, and then Adrenaline pops and you get healed and sprint off from the killer, basically a big F you to them.
Sprint burst is just hated by a lot of killer mains as it gives you a shroud of safety.
Borrowed Time to make it harder for the killer if they do want to tunnel off hook.
Kindred is just good overall for knowledge. Prove Thyself to pump out gens.
Also bring insta med kits or toolboxes with broken parts.
GL!

Here's a simple solution I don't think you thought of.
Just. Don't. Go. To. The. Exit. Gates.
A lot of killers appreciate the free hits and its not disrespectful at all. Don't be a Karen & look for reasons to be offended.

Simple as the title. If they get ruthless they keep the 1st slot, if they get merciless then they get both. I get that the ranking system sucks but it'd be better than always losing the add-ons while survivors get the chance to keep them.
Both killer and survivors lose their addons if they don't put in a White Ward offering. It'd be a nice idea to reward people based on outcome of match but thats how its been and I doubt BHVR would change it since it would void the offering entirely. Seems like they want to make the player choose to empower their item/powers but it comes with a cost.
-
I wouldn't have left, I would have just tried my best and tunnel the person with key out. Or at the very least, face camp them and make the match frustrating for them as well. But I'm no preacher when it comes to D/Cs, everyone has different reasons for them and not everyone has the same mindset.
-
Definitely would quit. I aint goin through the massive grind to get every perk and unlock all my P3s again, cosmetics, etc. It'd also be a spit in my face as well as everyone else's if they decided to do a 'reset'. Like naaaaa, I'd be gone so fast lol. Screw that.

geez you survivors can tap a generator to stop an already incredibly slow regressing process and it only takes you a fraction of a second to do so
yet you complain about this
I mean it is a prevalent issue that happens and its very annoying when its just luck of the draw timing and you can't do anything about it so I see where they're coming from (I also dont think you should just be able to 'tap' a gen to stop regression).

Im rank 5 so not really low rank. Its not that I’m trash and can’t regain that lost pip, I usually do. Its just the fact that because there was nothing I could’ve done against that afk killer to not depip. Because I am forced to depip that match is what makes it extremely frustrating.
I know it sucks but your solution will hurt regular matches with non-afk killers as well, allowing people who do basically nothing significant, to just hide or do very little and as long as they escape, they black pip.
If there was an actual solution that only addressed AFK killer matches and didn't affect regular ones, I'd be all for it man. My main point is - people who don't deserve to black pip shouldn't, and escaping while doing nothing for your team (or very little) is just going to promote that sort of play style.
-
If you're getting tunneled so often after being unhooked, start using DS.
If everyone has the mentality of 'DS nerf = bad perk now so I will stop using it', then of course killers will realize (which they have) and probably change up their strategies. I play red rank too and I don't see the tunneling issue as much as others do. You should also blame your teammates for unhooking when the killer is still around, of course they will come back because they know 2 people are there. <-- This happens so much at red rank even, its actually kind of sad.
-
Maybe at lower ranks this is common, but I don't see very many AFKs at red ranks. It is hella rare because most red rank killers want to pip or keep their ranks, not go against worse players.
And this isn't a solution because it rewards everyone for escaping just for escaping. You should always have to earn your escape and your points, and even if its an AFK, thats one game out of the many. You can easily regain your lost pip if you're a good player.
You're basically asking for a fix to AFK killers, which rewards even the worst players with a black pip, when they did nothing to earn it. But not taking into account the fact in a real match with a non-AFK killer, say someone doesn't help with gens, doesn't get into any chases, just hides and waits for the carry. Then escapes and...shouldn't depip?
Its the same thing in red ranks, even without AFK killers. If you gen rush and have 0 involvement/interaction with the killer, at least at rank 1/2, you're very likely to depip as a result even if you do escape.
This is a blanket solution from you that only applies to AFKs and like I said, at red ranks I don't see very many AFKs, it is pretty rare for me at least in my experience. At lower ranks, I don't know. But like I said, if you're a solid player, you'll get that pip back regardless.
-
Its just frustration and a translation of them saying "Ha! I finally got you, sucker!".
-
I sadly have to agree. The way ranking works is pretty busted. I mean you hear it time and time again from so many people that rank means very little in this game, and thats because of how easy it is to rank up. Too many red ranks that really should not be red ranks at all. There's a reason why so many people rush for saves and heals w/o ever touching a gen and thats because you get the most points from it and its a lot easier/faster to get. I've played with so many bad red rank survivors who suck in chases, don't do gens, etc.
Legit had a match yesterday versus Blight who kept downing this 1 teammate of mine who was rank 2 because they couldn't stay up to save their life. They went down at least 4 times in the end-game phase while another was on hook. Everytime I or the Bill would save them, they'd just go down immediately again. The one person on hook died. She ended up getting out with 17k versus me and the other teammate getting out with 24/25k. Then proceeds to give the killer crap about how he played despite the killer finishing with 22k.
Another match, I was against Leatherface and he caught someone who then got hooked in basement. Next teammate decides to go save. Gets caught and hooked in basement. 3rd teammate goes to unhook, gets caught and hooked in basement. All the while I'm on the other side of the map (with kindred) doing the only gen. Guess how that game ended? These were all red rank players too, lol.
The way this game rewards you with pips is awful. And red ranks should know how to deal with chases, know when to go for unhooks as well as when to do bones/gens. But a lot of people get boosted by SWF, are not good loopers/runners and just generally cater the easiest strat for points which is altruism. Also lack game sense.
MMR will help (at least the quality of my teammates was significantly better during the 24hr test period) but this games been out for YEARS. And the ranking system has always been absolutely garbage. Allows people to grab ranks they really shouldn't have/belong in.
-
Well if tunneling off unhook is an issue to you to the point of making this thread, I suggest running DS.
But to be fair, you also made a lot of mistakes. You're playing against Spirit who can hear your grunts and possibly even see your pools of blood. You had time to sneak away both times unhooked. 1st you run to the building which is pretty predictable as its the main building, instead of running backwards and around the car wreckage. 2nd unhook, you made the right call but you jumped on a gen and alerted her that you were there. You gotta be way more stealthy against a spirit. Its not just about running around and doing gens.
It does suck that she decided to do this to you, but she most likely figured you were the easiest kill target/weakest player on the team + you were already injured and none of your teammates took aggro off of you. It happens from time to time I guess, but its not like you did yourself any favors the way you played either.
-
Ehhh if they've earned it, sure.
But a whole team dying to a Trickster makes me think those survivors are just bad and no Trickster gets a 4k unless the survivors make a ton of mistakes. So death to all of them, no mercy.
-
During that 24 hr test period, in red ranks and solo que, my games were all really good. Nothing bad to say. Quality of teammates was significantly better compared to prior.

Are you guys having fun with the new no stun bug?
How often are you guys instantly getting tunneled or camped?.
How often do you guys win now?.
Are killers playing more "rude"?.
Are you running into more slugging builds than before?.
How often do you actually use DS?
Now:
My own experience playing survivor since the all kill patch in case you are wondering.
1. This bug needs to be fixed asap since it makes weak pallets weaker and strong pallets weaker.
2. Out of 10 matches today I got facecamped 7 and instantly tunneled all matches when there was no obsession even if the unhooker was injured.
3. Not as often anymore.
4. Been noticing that killers have been more rude but I don't really mind that.
5.in fact yes, I'm starting to see more sluggers than before.
6. I don't get value so I don't use it at all, I have been using more obsession perks though.
This is a legit question from a killer main to survivor mains.
- No I am not. But it doesn't happen enough for me to complain too much about it.
- Not very often, it happens in red ranks but for the most part, its okay.
- Its about 50/50. Depends for the most part, on the quality of teammates. Daytime is a lot better quality. Night time is horrible.
- By rude, what do you mean? Are they leaving me slugged and to bleed out at end game? No.
- No, slugging is happening just as much as before. People are still being hooked for the most part.
- I never used DS, I think it was a crutch perk for bad survivors who wanted to abuse it and even now, I don't use it because I'd rather bring a perk that I get real value out of.
This is at red ranks, exclusively solo que.
-
Maybe at lower ranks, its very common. Doesn't happen all that much at red ranks. Sure, some still do it. But most of my games are okay. & all I do is solo que as survivor at red ranks, so I gotta disagree with you. A lot of people don't wait for the killer to leave the area so he has every reason to come back immediately. & if he's face camping and he has insta down potential like a LF, then you can punish him by getting gens done.

110% killers can still run shack my guy, and along with this
Trickster has a lessened slowdown so he can actually run around shack throwing knives like a minigun fires bullets
No they can't. Any decent survivor that knows how to run the shack loop against a 110 killer isn't going to go down unless they make mistakes. The wind up time doesn't seem that significant to me. The spread/recoil fix is a lot better as well as the laceration decay. I guess we'll see how it goes. Hopefully he turns out to be a strong killer.
-
Meh, he'll still be run infinite around shack. No 115 = goooooood luck.
-
Yea I've started running it more. Its really awesome esp in those tight situations where the killer comes back to the hook and you're already done healing the person and deny the killer an easy re-hook. Also the fact you can reset the 90 second timer over and over w/o having to wait for a 'cooldown' is extremely useful. Actually won a game today against Spirit where she should have 3k'd but I saved 2 teammates very quickly, which otherwise wouldn't have been possible without it. Its a really good perk, and I'd take it over WGLF w/o a doubt if I had to choose between the two.
-
Not surprised in the slightest that killer mains are defending/disagreeing with him, lol. I've noticed the same too, but survivors are far from innocent as well.

Im sorry but why would we care, seriously you cant act like this community is the worst/most toxic thing in the world but then expect us to stay in matches just because we should care about other people's fun....
I personally dont mind Nurse but Freddy....yeah F freddy, every time I think: "ok ok, lets give him a go... oh look jump rope, tinkerer, pop, camping, yep.....yep yep yep....good fun"
glad that killer cares about the survivor's fun huh?
Well there's 2 sides of this that people are split on, at least from what I've seen on these forums.
One side of argument thinks you should care about other's enjoyment of the game, engage the killer/don't gen rush, don't DC cause it ruins it for the others, killers shouldn't camp or tunnel, etc.
The other side of the argument is that this is a Multiplayer game and you do what you need to do/be selfish and not worry about others. Whether that means slugging, camping, tunneling because as they put it 'you are the killer and your objective is to kill', the same can be said about survivors because their objective is to escape and that means getting those gens done as fast as possible.
Play how you want, but its funny when you see a thread of people saying you should care about others and make it enjoyable for everyone involved and then there are threads that go the complete opposite direction, basically giving a middle finger to everyone with that mindset lol.
-
"for no reason"
Uh huh.
-
They need to quiet her the hell down when being carried to hook and also while she's hooked. I had to legit stop using her cause her voicelines are just awful and overboard.
-
I'd actually move Gunslinger down to B.
-
I wish I had your hope and optimism.
-
Ehh..I've done it in the past a number of times but stopped. Haven't done it in awhile since I haven't gotten a mercy hatch from a killer in a long long time. I don't mind 'paying it forward' from time to time but most killers do not give hatch and they just go for the 4K even when you did so much for the team and outpointed the other 3 by several thousand points. At red ranks, killers aren't too merciful. It is what it is.
-
Are killer streamers not allowed to play survivor? Otz, Tru3, Cope, etc.
Nothing wrong with mixing it up and playing both sides. A lot of people do that anyways. Says nothing on the state of killer. Stop reading into it so much, it aint that deep.
-
Bad bait, try again.
-
Adrenaline, Prove Thyself, Sprint Burst/Lithe, Kindred
-
If your team dies to Trickster, that doesn't mean he's good. It just means you're not very good.
He's an awful killer and needs work.

No thanks. Would be too big of a buff to solo. And while I only SWF...I don't want to be yellowed a racist slur or be told how stupid I am by some 10 year old who's throwing a fit.
Complains about a buff to solo but admits to running SWF exclusively, odd.
But OP, I don't think its got a place in this game. Too many snowflakes and sensitive people and it'd only increase the toxicity in this game. Very rarely will it be actually beneficial, IMO.
-
Ehhh...not really. She's got some cool cosmetics and her perks are situational/not the very best but my biggest gripe about her is her voice line. Can't stand her when she's hooked.
-
David
- is a chad
- shirtless
- washboard abs
- hella cosmetics
- no annoying voice/sounds
The last one is a big one for me, play Jun Lee and I stopped playing her as soon as I got her to 40. Her voice sounds while hooked are just way too much for me.

The temporary ban, this system is flawed and besides not knowing how to differentiate rage quit, with falling out of the game (either through the weak internet or the power outage) just by falling through the bad internet I will be temporarily banned for 24 hours, I don't quit for losing and this is unfair to those who have an unstable internet connection.
It takes into account how many games recently you've disconnected from so if you're getting hit with a 24 hour, you're likely disconnecting way too much. Fix your internet connection, you shouldn't be playing any game in 2021 with an unstable connection. Not the game's fault your ISP is shittin the bed.
-
I usually only leave a lobby if I get a bad vibe or see someone bringing key. SWF isn't the most fun to play with but I manage if I have to.
I did have a really bad experience just 2 days ago with a 3 man SWF. Played against Nurse, she couldn't catch me at all (probably practicing and trying to get better). She ended up hooking the other 3 throughout the match and so, I went for a save even though she was proxy camping and I was likely going to go down to replace her. Well, big mistake. She proxy/face camped me on the hill hook and not 1 of them came to help me. From 1st hook to death. They did the last gen (that I got to 70%) and then immediately ran toward gates and opened them. They didn't even leave immediately, I died and the match went on till the EGC bar went down completely.
Bad feeling when you do a lot for the team and go out of your way to be altruistic but when it comes time for you to be paid back the favor, you get left in the dust.
-
If gen pressure is an issue for you, start using Pop. At red ranks, most killers are running it. Oppression & ruin are both good as well.
-
I never ran it to begin with so I just got used to the game real fast w/o it. Not very hard to spin a camera to keep an eye out. Its just a waste of a slot for me compared to something else that I get real value from. But to each their own!
-
@DivineZak said:
Anyone else think D-strike is a waste of a perk slot now? It's only really useful if some idiot farms you and you still get slugged anyway, these killers are having a field day when they see no ds. I run in a swf so I never get farmed and someone is always running BT, the 60 second really is a waste of time where you could be doing something valuable. No one runs DS anymore I think they should change it but in a way were it's still run able or at least do something about the incessant slugging.
If you never get farmed, why are you complaining about it? 🙃
-
Every game that has tried, has failed.
Remember that.

If you all know the trickster is weak and not a threat, why are you playing as hard as you can? Just to do 5 gens real quick, never interact with him andnrun out the gate?
Ooooooo fun...
B/c that would cause me to depip. At rank 1, you're basically depipping if everyone just gen rushes and leaves immediately. Basically, if we don't interact with the killer very much, were screwing ourselves out of a black pip at the minimum. Its also not very fun to gen rush and not do anything with the killer. But its rare if that happens. I see so many red ranks actually falling/dying to Trickster, its actually kind of sad. Just makes me realize a lot of red rank players do not know how to run killers or how to use their weaknesses against them
-
Lol this is such a stupid complaint. Hey man, if you can't wait a minute in the lobby for the match to start, you do you and keep switching lobbies. :)
Not like I would care if you stayed or left anyways, and like others have said, not all of us are glued to our screens and prioritize you over other things just because you're in a rush to start a match. Have a good one!
-
Some people like to turn petty from how they were treated in their last game and feel good about taking their frustrations out on the next group of survivors. Whether thats putting on some really strong addons, facecamping on 1st hook, tunneling a survivor who they know doesn't have DS, etc.
I personally don't really care too much. If its a bad game, I just move on to the next. It can get frustrating but I never let it change how I play or what I do in the next match. Also analyzing mistakes or thinking back to what you did that you felt was hurting you helps.
-
@TauNkosi said:
Yes, we get it. Your first three games playing him didn't exactly go well. We understand he's in need of some buffs. It's obvious he's not nurse of Freddy levels of good. The problem is, you're all playing him expecting to do good without actually working out all his kinks. Stop expecting 4ks and start learning from your games instead of complaining on the internet. I've already run into some tricksters who absolutely decimated me and my teams. It can be done. Just give it some time.
If you and your teammates got decimated by a trickster, you're just not very good. He's horrible, the worst killer in the game, and no team should be losing to him if they know how to run him, especially an SWF. I've talked to many killer mains at r1/2 in the end game lobby about him and not one person has said anything good about him. He is underwhelming, addons aren't very strong or good, and there are too many downsides to him when you can just pick Plague or Huntress that do everything he does, but better.
-
3 matches today so far.
Nurse camped me on 1st hook to death, teammates didn't bother trying to save despite me saving them and only having been on their first hook.
Then right after that, Gunslinger did the same thing, first to a Meg early in the game and then to me.
Red ranks btw. Fun fun.
-
Nonsense! I will travel far and wide, the length of 10 maps if it means helping you when you don't need it. I am the #1 teammate. I am unwavering. I am relentless. I will save you and you will not like it. We may die, we may live but in the end it doesn't even matter. Be ready. When you fall, I shall begin my journey. And if we both shall fall, all will be lost regardless. God speed, brother.
