Its a much needed nerf and it does what its supposed to do which punishes tunneling. Its not perfect (I really don't understand why a DS player is punished for healing themselves but hey) however its a lot better than what it was so I'll just roll with it and see how it goes. I never personally ran it cause I always thought it was a crutch perk for bad survivors who abused it but lets see how it goes. I'm sure the perk pickrate has gone down significantly already. At least from what I've seen in my matches.

i don’t get it, we get a killer with 3 great perks, a survivor with good cosmetics and two great perks, and a cool lobby theme. Trickster is good you guys just seriously can’t play him lol. There’s a lot of short loops he can easily hit over that huntress can’t due to hatchet hit box he’s also faster at damaging from long range and can apply pressure to survivors in a short distance. Overall a decent B tier killer idk why everyone’s so mad and acting like this is the worst chapter ever
Play the game and you'll find out. :)
-
It stops tunneling. I guess you were just one of the many survivors that abused it.
-
Lol, not even close.

@GrannyMcBrichz said:
course you are going to want to heal after you have been hooked!!!! Our one salvation against tunneling and now killers can go ham. Totally destroying the game. Put it back to the way it was!! Killers are powerful enough already and if they want you, they will come again after you DS their ass!
In nice terms, get good? If you can run a killer even after they tunnel you and force the DS, that only punishes them the more time they spend on you. The fact is, horrible players in high ranks and even mid-to high ranks abused this perk to give them safety and w/o it, their real skill level shows up more.
DS is fine as it is, stop complaining and get better at the video game.
-
Yea saw this happen on Otz's stream as well earlier. Def has issues.
Also saw a bug happen in 1 game where Blood Warden activated and 2 people were on the edge of it where it comes up, and killer couldnt kill them. Swings just didnt register on them. And then they left lol.

@Marigoria said:
It's like people aren't gonna be good at the killer in just a few matches... People need to learn him first, then maybe we'll see if he's that bad.
Dude it doesn't take 20+ games to realize he just isn't good. Even the people who played him repeatedly on PTB said this. I too have had I think so far, 6+ games against Trickster today and in all of my matches, all 4 teammates have gotten out. He struggles so much in loops, shack is a huge problem for him and his power is lackluster to say the least.
-
Can't relate. At high ranks, at least so far in all my matches vs Trickster, all 4 survivors have gotten out. He's very easy to loop, you can punish him way too much at shack, he struggles around tight corners, the regression for the meter fill-up is hella quick so pressure can be lost easily. Fun killer, I just had 1 Trickster shooting through the broken cracks in shack window at all of us standing at EG, having fun dodging and weaving his throws lol. But nah in terms of efficiency/effectiveness, I'd say he's easily D/F tier. Just a worse plague/huntress in every way.
-
Yea he's an awful killer. Even asked a few killer mains that are r1/2 and what their opinion on him was. None of it was positive, lol. Just a very big let down and you can run him infinite at shacks if you know how to loop properly.
edit; just had a match where trickster face camped 4th teammate and waited for us to come save. We got her off hook and he didn't down any of us in the process.
Every match I've played against Trickster, its been really easy. Every match so far, all 4 teammates have gotten out.
-
I've got like 500k BP and used the 200k BP code already cause I thought it'd expire. :(
But I've got enough shards to buy the new survivor and get a cosmetic if I want.

So many people wouldn't have to rely on said crutch perk if killers didn't camp and tunnel so much.
Except they don't most of the time and thats just an excuse bad survivors (IMO) say to explain using it. Most people do not use it because they're tunneled, they use it because it grants them 1 minute of immunity and can do objectives, go for hook saves, etc safely.
How am I able to survive and hold my rank at 1/2 consistently while solo queing exclusively and never having ran DS but you mean to tell me all these other survivors run it because...they're camped and tunneled so frequently? Yea sorry I don't believe that at all. But it doesn't matter anyways. The nerf is here and I'm interested to see how these survivors do w/o it. And hey, if you're honestly tunneled so often, you'll continue to use it.
-
Lol I def needed some comedy with my coffee this morning. Thank you.

I play solo exclusively. Solo is Fine. SWF is op tho
This. I play solo 100% in red ranks and I'm fine with it. Its how the game was designed and its no surprise that when SWF was implemented (due to community asking for it), it swayed the balance incredibly for the survivors because of voice comms and just having a ton of reliance on your teammates that you otherwise wouldn't have in solo. Being able to plan & stack perks, organize strategies, stack items/addons/offerings together, have call outs is obviously going to change the tide from 50/50 or worse to 90/10 when were talking about the incredibly sweaty SWF death squads.
@Breque said:

You definitely dont play solo lol
Uhh why do you say this? I've been holding rank 1 exclusively solo queing w/ the rare matches where the team messes up so badly that I depip as a result. But then I just grab the r1 back in the next 1-2 matches. Crazy to think people can't solo que to high ranks and hold it or ?
-
Happy for this since too many rely on this crutch perk.
Only thing I'd swap out is healing and replace it with hiding in lockers. Otherwise solid changes all around.
-
@CustomerService said:
Well here's the thing. In this game you have 2 options. You either get yourself a SWF squad and play with people you can rely on, or you get shat on. You can't play solo queue.
Or you play tryhard killer that are top tier and bring strong builds.
Solo queue is a nightmare, as is trying to play chill and "have fun" as a killer.
Not true at all, I only play solo que and I'm consistently holding my rank in red ranks. Yes the teammate quality goes down significantly at night but that doesn't necessarily mean you will depip because of it. Unless you too, aren't very stellar of a survivor either.

@Pulsar said:
How do you feel about the DS nerf?
Blight and Wraith changes?
Trickster?
I'll be trying Trickster out today, but I do not have high hopes.
Excited isn't the right word for me but I'm definitely interested in playing around the new changes.
Don't care about the new killer, will pick up the new survivor though. I also am interested in particularly the DS nerf, because of how many people rely on it/use it currently. I want to see if they stick to it, if they swap to something else, and overall see if they derank or not b/c of it.
-
@glitchboi said:
I suppose that's a good thing in my case, haven't been able to play survivor in a while because I always play in solo queue and getting garbage teammates after a 6 minute wait in the queue is just horrible.
Yea I've realized at night the que times get longer and the teammate quality goes down significantly. To the point I just say screw it, not worth chancing it again.

Mine
-
Well everyone has their own personal style or way of playing but I like to run builds that helps me excel in multiple situations.
Sprint Burst - Can stay on gens relatively safely even if a killer is approaching, still get away and start the 'chase'. Knowing when to save it and not to waste the CD or hold onto the CD for too long is important but you can get used to it real fast.
Adrenaline - Great end-game perk that will save you a lot in end-game chases or even reset them. Heal state also activates after coming off hook meaning teammates don't have to waste time doing it for you. Just get off the hook and run for the escape.
Kindred - Lets my teammates know if killer is camping, who is doing gens, who can come save me, etc. A lot of the red ranks run this because knowing who and when to go for a save is really important. It can either snowball the match in favor of the killer or add to the team's efficiency.
Prove Thy Self - You can pretty much max out gen repairs by just doing 2 gens. Great addition for any team, specifically the beginning and end game gens. During the middle, you'll more often than not be on a gen by yourself but its a great clutch perk for those intense end-game situations where 3 teammates are left, one just gets put on their final hook and you and the remaining teammate crank out a gen incredibly fast to give yourselves a fighting chance on getting out.
1 perk to help me in chases, 1 for end-game, 2 for team efficiency.

@Botiz said:
Usually i'm biased for killer in this game, but holy ######### is playing against Ruin in solo queue so boring, especially if it's paired with something like Tinkerer, good job ever getting a generator complete solo.
When you or your teammates are unable to find Ruin or don't find it for a long time, it's such a pain in the ass to play against and literally just makes me not want to repair gens at all.
Might just have to start chucking on Detective's Hunch so I can see most of the totems after the first gen gets complete.
Just needed to rant a little because it's been something on my mind lately and I just had a game against a Blight with Ruin + Tinkerer and looped him for like 4 minutes straight, and still only 2 gens were complete like 8-9 minutes into the game.
- If you're running a killer for 4 minutes straight and only 2 gens get done, thats more so a fault on your fellow teammates.
- If you're running a killer for 4 minutes straight, that still leaves 3 teammates who could split up. 2 work on gen, 1 goes hunting for the hex.
- Ruin isn't overly difficult to find on MOST maps. Most people at high ranks know the spawns and should check them.
I solo que entirely and yes, sometimes its left up way too long. But thats also a fault on the survivors/myself because we'd rather focus on gens and think we'll likely come across it anyways traversing the map. I mean with 4 of us running around, one of us is bound to see it right? It can happen where none of us see it but I'd say thats pretty rare. If I do my 1st gen at the start of the game and I let up on repairing for a second and the hex activates, I know to go hunting for it.
I'd be blaming your teammates more than the hex. Seems they weren't very efficient in that situation you described.
-
I don't know your rank but in red ranks, I'd say let go of that approach. Get into the mindset of being aggressive because good killers will spread pressure on your team and do it fast. If you're stealthing around too much, you're letting your other teammates gain that pressure that could have gone to you. Everyone needs to play their part.
Your perks are fine for the most part but def get rid of Plunder/UE. I'd recommend something like Prove Thy Self/ Adrenaline o help speed up gen progress which can clutch out games as well as max out your gen repairs rather quickly or help you out end-game.
Stealthing at the start is fine but you should always get on a gen the moment you feel like the killer is somewhere else (in a chase already or on the way to another gen, setting up traps, etc). Same thing applies to end game. Opening the gates for your team as soon as possible (if no one has gone down). Stealthing is very situational and people often make the wrong call about it and the other survivors who put in more work/do more for their team despise it.
I know chases may be tough sometimes but you putting aggro on yourself for your team can benefit everyone, you get points for boldness and they get more time to heal/do gens/bones.
Best of luck!
-
When teammates don't know how to save properly and all 3 go down/do it repeatedly to the point they all get 2nd hooked and ruin any chance of escaping.
Legit had this happen yesterday by red/purple ranked teammates.
-
I honestly don't know anyone that is actually excited about the Trickster. I'm focused on the changes to the game, and the new survivor perks. Thats really about it. Trickster is nothin special to get excited about.

Yeah, I mean, why get offended when someone flips you off in a sporting match?
It's bad sportsmanship, that's why. It's someone being a jerk. Someone taking time out of their life to be an arsehole. It's honestly sad and pathetic, especially since most t-baggers only t-bag at the exit or after predropping their way to victory. Wow, real mature, real fun. "Better player", totally.
So what you're saying is you are offended by someone crouching, standing up, crouching again repeatedly. Got it! Love the sensitive people in this game/community 😂
-
Had a Billy on AH that used NOED. 2 teammates caught and taken to basement just as me and Dwight 99 both gates. We searched for NOED but couldn't find it in time, Dwight goes down and taken to basement. I find NOED, Billy leaves shack and zooms towards the EG nearest to the totem, so I run in for the save. Dwight gets out of shack and goes to his gate while Killer focuses on me. Makes a mistake and M1s me on stairs which lets me get out. Dwight opens gate right as I vault a window and get there. We both escape.
NOED is fine. It punishes you if you don't do bones during the match but you can still go hunting for it after it activates if you're feeling risky/want to save other teammates. In my defense, I honestly didn't think a Billy would run NOED so I didn't focus on bones as much. But that was my own fault and I paid for it by losing 2 teammates at the end. Even though the Dwight thanked me and the other 2 commended me for the save at the end game lobby, I still felt like I let the other 2 down. But lesson learned. Can never be too sure.

As a solo survivor. It doesn't matter how many shots you give this game. It doesn't matter how many breaks or philoshopies you adopt to try to see things differently. Once you hit red ranks as a solo survivor, this game becomes unplayable. You either consistently have a squad to play with you or just gotta uninstall.
Balance doesn't exist, and unless the killer is very unexperienced and you happen to get the occasional green/yellow/brown rank, you have to get ready to just sit back and watch 3 randoms crouching in a corner while nothing gets done and everyone eventually dies.
Conclusion, play survive with friends or don't play at all.
Gladly disagree. Red rank solo survivor here and although it can be very frustrating, its not because of the killer 99% of the time. The real killer/enemy is the quality of teammates you get. There are plenty of people in red ranks that quite frankly, play like greens or starter purples. Whether its them bringing the killer to you despite trying to do 3 different gens, dive bombing as soon as killer leaves for a second, being horrible in chases and going down incredibly fast, etc. But when you get those games where everyone plays well and everyone is on the same page, coordinating, its hella satisfying.
I like solo que and respect players a lot more that stick to it, SWF is a crutch and inflates people's egos when they shouldn't have one. I've also never gotten to the point of uninstalling over solo red rank play. I did uninstall when they released the recent patch with the new HUD and stiff new animations. But came back the moment they fixed/addressed it.

I could interpret your game play, as hovering over the hatch and not helping as failing to participate in normal game play, hence report your a$$ as well.
But, If I saw you hiding by hatch and I was being chased, I'd bring the killer to you as well, At that stage, I dont care if I die, as long as the hatch get closed before you can use it, I count it as win.
I mean I get what you're saying but you did word that in an odd way. I wouldn't go out of my way to fail skill checks on teammates doing gens just because I deem them useless or not deserving. Its a hard situation to assess but everyone can usually tell when they have teammates that don't do very much of anything in terms of getting out, whether thats having the killer chase them, gens, totems, taking a hit for others, etc. I don't go out of my way to hurt other people's games prior to the infamous 1 doable gen left but the other dude is hiding, but if I notice someone doing nothing and killer finds me first, whats the problem with bringing them over to the teammate who is just locker jumping or waiting for the hatch to open? Killer can make his mind up if he wants to stick on the chase with me (which I'm fine with) or switch targets and perhaps go for the other. I'm not forcing him to get the other guy first so I can escape. I have no problem both of us dying, if it happens, it happens.
Its up to the killer anyways.
-
Just because you solo que doesn't mean you're bad or 'dont have friends'. Many people prefer solo que to SWF.
At the same time, this applies to SWF. Just because you destroy a killer doesn't mean you're good.
-
Not really excited for Trickster since he's pretty garbage. If anything, more interested in the new survivor and perks.
-
You're like those people who get hook saved and run away instantly when its safe to heal.
& you answered your own question, yes of course you're hurting your team. I mean, you shouldn't even be using Self Care at high ranks (if thats what you are doing), its a needless perk because with actually good teammates, its a waste of a slot and you'd be better off bringing something else to the match. Its a selfish perk like someone else said, I get it at low ranks but when you start climbing, all it conveys is that you aren't confident without it and you'd rather slow yourself down to heal yourself rather than let a teammate do it faster and get some points while at it.
You do you though.
-
@Koukdw said:
Playing solo survivor is a downgrade tho.
Don't think it's easier than playing killer. You have multiple things you have no control over.
That's sorta what makes it fun. How the game was intended prior to SWF implementation. & when a team of all solos come together, coordinate and get out together, its very satisfying. Ofc it brings added frustration as well but overall it is rewarding (at high ranks).

Why is it always the pc players that are toxic. Kinda done with that crap. Wonder why killers dont stay in the lobby and have high wait times. It's because of your bs. Really wish i could stop the cross plat.
You can turn cross-play off if you'd like.
-
Your mentality is a big factor. If you attribute everything survivors do to you as bullying, being toxic, etc. Thats on you. Don't take offense to every little action the DbD community considers 'toxic'. Just ignore it, understand it will always happen, and focus on your objective. Spread pressure, have slow down perks if you find gens going too fast and outplay survivors in mind games.
So yea, I'd def recommend changing your mindset.
-
Complete opposite reaction to mine.
Teammate quality has improved substantially, in every match I've played so far at red ranks. Loving the matchmaking so hopefully it does get put in permanently, with some tweaks of course. But my experience is definitely a positive one. Not having to worry about what my teammates are doing for a large part, is satisfying as hell. People are just more efficient overall and its great when the team makes the killer actually have to sweat.
-
Yup all 6 games have been feelin really good. I solo que at red ranks as survivor and the MAIN enemy prior to this was the quality of teammates, not the killer. But now, I got teammates who can actually run a killer, don't dive bomb, are actually doing gens/bones, not hiding around, etc. Just overall quality of teammates has improved a lot and I love it.
No complaints so far.
-
If you're being gen-rushed, like someone else said, you aren't applying pressure or a lot of it. Survivors have 1-2 things to do if not being pressured and that is primarily generators/bones. Unless they have to go for unhooks/heals, you can expect them to be on a gen somewhere.
Also what are your perks you run?
I'm going to assume either you are not spreading pressure properly or you are at a higher rank than you should be and being matched with people who know how to run a killer and are focused on the objective.
-
Red rank survivor main here. Only played 5 games but all 5 felt really good. Teammates that knew how to run killers, even had 1 game that had a rank 2 nurse killer ragequit on us and had some insults afterwards (lol). No one really hiding around, wasting time. Totems, gens being done, people not dive bombing, etc.
So far so good in solo que. I did go against nurse 2 times in a row though, that was surprising.
edit1: Just went against Doc on Laboratory. Did the 1st gen and aggro'd the killer. He chased me all the while my team cranked out the 4 remaining gens. I could tell he was surprised as hell at the pace of the match when he got to EG and everyone had left except me, and he was just staring off into the exit, like did that really just happen lol. He made the mistake of sticking on a chase for far too long and it cost him greatly. He got 1 hook at the end but I unhooked and we were all able to get out.
Teammate quality is a lot better IMO. Which is the real enemy of solo que at high ranks (prior to this sbmm).

It's funny how people who tell to "grow some skin" whine the loudest when any of the strategies are applied to them. Or when players just refuse to communicate with them because of their attitude.
Lol quit projecting. You don't know me and you don't even realize that you are the classic example of someone who finds a problem with everything. Of course situations can be frustrating, does that make it toxic? No. And 'whining' when you take offense to my post is 10/10 irony. But keep on assuming, bud.

Nothing in game is toxic. Perhaps some tactics put the F U in fun, but if it is in the game and not a cheat, it's not toxic.
Only thing toxic is being nasty in end game chat.
This. Too many sensitive people nowadays. You teabag, how dare you!? You flashlight spam, how dare you?! You tunnel, how dare you?! You camp hooks, how dare you?!
People find a 'problem' with other's behavior because their mentality is - if you do A, B or C, you're being a dick and I don't like you. Grow up and have some skin and don't take offense to legit anything you deem as 'toxic'. Unless the person is actively insulting you at end-game chat, its no big deal. Stop assigning everything as toxic. Some real snowflake type mentality.
-
Oni most likely.
If he were to enrage and charge towards a PH, he'd more often than not destroy them. All PH has is a big sword and line of attack cleave. Oni would strike the first blow and it'd be lethal.
Huntress isn't anything special either, just a huntress who likes to hunt humans. She'd get destroyed by an enraged Oni. Considering he gets stronger off the injured, he could wad around in the map waiting for his enrage and to pick his perfect victim. And again, his first blow would be lethal.
-
I just had 2 very bad matches myself at red rank.
Leatherface match: No one on my team had any clue on how to run him besides myself. Did 2 gens myself and almost a 3rd because he was proxy camping whoever he caught on hook. Before even the 2nd person is death hooked, I've maxed out my boldness category. Several times in my match, I was in a chase and ran by both the Claudette doing nothing as well as the Jane. They were just stealthing around, not doing the final 2 gens. Killer gives up chase on me to go check on gens, finds and death hooks the Jane. Did the 2nd last gen with Claudette. Realizing that the Claudette wasn't doing anything afterwards except hiding and trying to find hatch, and LF patrolling back and forth between gens, I know I either get hatch or I get EG. He finds me, chases and again gives up chase to go back to the gens. Finds Claudette and she legit runs him to the hatch before getting death hooked. He closes hatch immediately and I nearly open the EG but he gets there and we go on another chase where I finally get downed.
Billy match: This Billy wasn't very good and I had him juked. I get hooked and the Dwight comes to save me. Killer proxy camps and sees Dwight so starts chasing. Dwight brings killer over to me and plays around the jungle gym the entire time, instead of going literally anywhere else on the map instead. The other 2 debate back and forth if they should come (theyre not even on gens), the Meg stealths around and lets me get on 2nd hook while the killer is focused on Dwight running around me. The other Dwight who didn't do anything at all, d/cs. At this point I'm fed up and just let myself die on 2nd hook. If thats how my teammates want to play, fine. Enjoy your 2/3 man game early on. The quality of teammates today has been really bad.
Just constant dive bombing into downs, or people not going for saves/not doing gens when they should be. Oh and were on coldwind farm both times. ZZzz.

Oh so slimy. Saying let’s have fun in their chat and that 20 second delay. That’s why I have won no matches at all against anyone with a TTV in their who runs a 4 man SWF. I’m just that good, especially when the game pairs me up with 4 rank 1s and I’m rank 13.
@Dragonshensi said:
How is SWF teams not cheating while stream sniping is? Isn’t this suppose to be a horror game? Imagine in movies where there is a killer but all the teens have comms throughout the whole movie, “oh no! Jason is over here following me guys! Better go to x while he’s on me!” Then at the end of the movie the teens escape but not without giving that killer a few tbags. Roll credits.
You don't see the problem here? Its not about winning, its that you're going out of your way to get info you shouldn't have access to. It doesn't matter if its a 5, 10 or 20 second delay. You're still doing it to hear what they're saying. And like I said, SWF is in the game. Its part of it. What you're doing is slimy, yes. You're opening a browser to listen in on a team of people when you shouldn't be. This isn't a movie, this is a video game. And if you have such a problem with communication and SWF, then that explains why you stream snipe every Ttv player. Cause you can't take it that they are using comms and you hate when they all escape 'because of it'. Just say you hate losing and you don't care if stream sniping benefits you or looks bad. You'll do it because in your eyes you deem SWF 'cheating'.
Also why ask this question of 'is stream sniping fair?' when you're just going to go on the defensive and argue everything without logic?
-
"out of curiosity"
Just say you want to hear their callouts, don't sugarcoat it or excuse it by bringing up delay. SWF was implemented into the game so ofc people want to play with friends and usually that means having comms. You going out of your way, opening someone's stream up to hear what they're saying about you all throughout the match, is pretty wack. You bring up the up excuse that it was an SWF but you also say that you regularly check on people's streams and let them know you're the killer. So you clearly do this whenever you see a TTV and not just when its an SWF. Slimy IMO.
P.S I'm a solo surv and hate SWF for pretty much every advantage it brings. Still think what you do is weird.
-
What I find annoying is when survivors bring a killer to you repeatedly when working on gen after gen. Learn where to run/not run. Like bro, I got the last gen to 80% and now you're doing loops around the jungle/area because you don't know where to run or want to lead the killer away despite you likely going down anyways.
-
Earlier today I read a rant from someone on the forums who admitted to buying over $1000 worth of DBD content, whether it was skins, cells, DLC, etc.
So yea, there's plenty of people who shrug and buy regardless. It sucks, but until people boycott/say no to the prices, it will stay the same. And just making this clear, it aint going to change.
-
FNAF is pretty meh IMO. Resident Evil all the way.
