  • It's 40 seconds the Killer can never get back. That's its purpose.

Whether it's worth it or not is an entirely different question.

  • I don't think the issue is "running in high heels looks ridiculous," as much as it is an issue of resources. All female Survivors use the same animation skeleton (with the exception of Aestri since BHVR forgot that D&D elves are SHORTER than humans on average). This skeleton simply doesn't support high heels.

In order to give Ada her high heels, they would have to create an entire new skeleton JUST for her, which would mean remaking ALL of her models to fit this new skeleton, and who knows WHAT kind of bugs that could introduce. As iconic as the heels are to her design, it just wouldn't be worth the time or resources.

  • I mean, if they wanted to extend the hiatus I've been on since the Anniversary, ignoring all the feedback they got about the UI, doing the most bare-minimum changes they could have (and exceptionally poorly as well) before pushing it out virtually unchanged, making the most nonsensical excuse about how the old UI was "outdated and we couldn't go back to it" and generally have nothing function was certainly one way to do it.

While I'm sure this is partly on me looking at size 10, single-spaced font on a pure white background and hyperfixating on specific words for 5-6 hours beforehand, when I tried using the Bloodpoints I got from rank reset, I was physically straining my eyes trying to look at the Bloodweb. THAT'S how bad this is.

BHVR can claim they listen to feedback all they want. Actions speak FAR louder than empty words.

  • They did the literal most bare minimum they could have done so they could say they "listened to community feedback". And they even screwed THAT up.

  • "After careful analysis, we're getting the hell out of here!" & "It's not our time to die… probably." Both of these clearly show the ACTUAL character of Jonah, without the made-up, dangerous misinformation a certain lore YouTuber has spread about him. He's just a fun guy who sees the tension and tries to lighten the mood with jokes.

As for Killer, not a perk per say, but Deathslinger's Barbed Wire takes the cake for me. "There won't be nothing to fear soon. Till then, fear me." It's the right amount of edgy, sinister and intimidating without being too cringeworthy.

I mean let's be real, with how people are asking for non-horror characters from non-horror IPs like Homelander from The Boys, Velociraptor from Jurassic Park, Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat, Glados from Portal, Jacket from Hotline Miami or Carnage from Spiderman, it was inevitable for DBD to deviate from horror IPs only because a good portion of people want to turn this game's theme into Fortnite 2.0.

Hell, with the inclusion of Lara Croft, you got people asking for Nathan Drake's inclusion now.

I mean, of those, Jurassic Park is at least horror adjacent, which I think does fit, but yeah. This was unfortunately inevitable (Hell, I can't even say I'm innocent of this, since my current most wanted is a far cry from horror, but it is unfortunate to see this shift when there are still several good horror IPs to go for).

  • I'm only getting her because I'm a filthy completionist who can't stand not having everything unlocked. But that's about it.

While she fits as a character just fine, I'm not excited by the departure from horror we've been taking for the past year. First it was Nick Cage (I will forever stand by the fact that real people have NO PLACE in games like this, even if he came with two of my favorite perks), then it was D&D (even though it's my favorite chapter in a long while, if they weren't going to try bringing Ravenloft into this, they shouldn't have bothered), and now Tomb Raider (some spooky scenes doesn't suddenly make it a horror series).

  • Very disappointed that the UI changes are, even if slightly better than the PTB, going through, mainly because the Customization tab was so ungodly awful (and conveniently they're not showing any changes on that end, even though it's readily apparent that it will still show much less than what's currently live), but at least they somewhat listened. Not well enough, but it's SOMETHING.

  • 3. Hillbilly: Never been good with him, his rework made trying to control him even more difficult due to Overdrive, and I REALLY don't like the idea of having to change my key bindings to make him even remotely playable.

    2. Singularity: I think my attempt to showcase Singu to my nephews perfectly illustrated everything I hate about him, when a Nancy-bot was about a quarter-covered by a bush and was somehow completely undetectable. Not to mention how much effort needs to go in for the same result I could get by putting a tenth of that effort into Nurse. Funny how he used to be #1, and then I tried playing who ACTUALLY is number one…

    1. Blight. I've NEVER felt worse playing any game than I have when I play Blight. From the stupid bump logic that feels so completely arbitrary 90% of the time, controls that feel as clunky as Hillbilly's, and the many, MANY blatant exploits "techs" that were ENCOURAGED to be used in order to make him remotely playable, and my attitude when playing him just becomes REALLY toxic. So I'm only playing him when I have a stupid challenge to do… and not willingly.

The worst part is I used to enjoy him, and I have no idea what happened.

  • It could be worse. She could have the Jonah Treatment, where the only popular lore content creator intentionally misinterprets the lore, spreads genuinely dangerous misinformation without a second thought, and causes the entire community to villainize the character based on false assumptions, unwillingness to actually read the lore themselves, and mob mentality.

Compared to that, Kate's only crime is having lore that was good for being so early but got left behind as time passed and having an archive that did nothing to add to her character.

  • Male :Ash. I mean, it's Ash.

Female: I SO badly want to say Haddie, but our Haddie isn't the amazing character from the archives that they've completely stopped doing anything with in favor of an alternate universe counterpart and a character I literally couldn't care any less about. She's a disappointment and nothing more.

So I'm going to have to say Yui for lore. I usually put Cheryl above her, but I'm actually not well acquainted with Silent Hill lore.

  • Male: Nick Cage on account of how much I hate having real people be in games like this. If we don't count that, then maybe Yoichi since I have to constantly remind myself he even exists.

Female: Sable is objectively the worst character in the entire game. She's a beyond shallow, empty character whose only saving grace is having a good design. However, I, despite thinking she's a fine character in any other situation and would even rank her somewhere in the middle otherwise, REALLY hate the hypocrisy surrounding Ada's inclusion and popularity, considering she's EVERYTHING people call Jonah, but it's actually true in her case and she catches ZERO flack for it because… hot woman?

  • It's been a while, so take this with a grain of salt, but I can think of at least 3 ways to get this that I believe will work:

    1. You can use the Iridescent Queen's Static Charge and rely on Survivors getting close together frequently.
    2. His Calm add-ons increase his terror radius when Static Blast is ready, which you can combine with Distressing for an even larger Terror Radius, which you can combine with a small map like Midwich (this was what I did a while back).
    3. Dark Devotion transfers his Terror Radius to the Obsession on hit. This includes his Static Blast.

Again, it's been a while since I did an iteration of this, but these strategies (and a good amount of luck) SHOULD work.

  • I don't mind them on most Killers. Characters like Wesker, Trickster and Chucky just wouldn't feel right if they weren't hamming it up, mimicking voices is literally a part of the Unknown's hunting strategy and Pinhead speaks so sparingly that it's a nice little treat when he does. Which leaves the other two with Vecna & Singularity (and most likely Dracula coming up). Matt Mercer absolutely NAILED Vecna, but it would be nicer if he spoke with Pinhead's regularity. And Singularity speaking kind of annoys me, and I have no idea how to put the reasons into words.

Survivor on the other hand, I DO take issue with, for what is honestly a very petty reason. For the longest time, I mained Ash BECAUSE he was the only one with voice lines. Then Project W came out and the RE cast got voice lines. Retroactively. And in the process, they removed the ability for everyone else in the lobby to hear them, while also playing them so rarely that I'm pretty sure I've only heard TWO of Rebecca's voice lines total. Vittorio had no lines and it seemed like it would just be special treatment for some licensed characters. Then the Lyra Siblings showed up and had voice lines with each other… which practically NEVER happens and rarely play when it DOES happen. And it all went downhill from there as EVERYONE got voice lines.

Gabriel came out and got THREE lines total as well as beginning one of the WORST jokes this community has ever created. Nick Cage came out and started playing voice lines IN-GAME which, while it could be fun, just annoys me more than it doesn't. Ripley came out and literally only ever talks about the Xenomorph using tunnels (exaggeration, I know). I can't speak for Alan's character since I've never played his games, but again the in-game voice lines irritate me more than they don't. Sable's lines are garbage and I'm only giving the Troupe a pass because Baermar's voiced by Robbie Daymond.

TL;DR: With everyone getting voice lines now, the ENTIRE REASON I mained who I did is no longer unique to him, and it kind of annoys me. Though I guess I have no room to talk since Baermar IS my new main.

  • As a character: Yes. Lara is a textbook Survivor, especially the 2013 version that we got.

As an IP: No. Just because the Survivor Timeline has a few scary scenes and is inspired by a horror movie does not suddenly mean Tomb Raider is a horror IP. That's just not how it works.

    Correct.

I believe as far as original characters go, it's just Dredge and both All Things Wicked characters left at this point.

Correct for Killers, but for Survivors, you missed Adam, Jeff, Felix, Élodie and Haddie (disregarding the alternate universe version that does have lore, OUR Haddie doesn't have a tome).

As much as I do enjoy Yui, it's almost funny how much 4/5 of these characters get abandoned (especially Jeff, who's lore conflicts DIRECTLY with his own Killer's tome).

  • It's pretty bad when people ACTUALLY know what it does. But I've run into several matches now where people DON'T know what it does and proceed to try hiding in its radius. And as its usage rate goes down, less people will know what it does, which could actually make it stronger in the long run.

Sure, it tells Survivors that something is active, but it doesn't tell them that it's wallhacks, and I'm pretty sure the average player doesn't have every single possible perk memorized, if Chaos Shuffle was anything to go by.

Still doesn't make it above a mid-C tier perk without Franklin's though.

  • Aestri is a full elf. One of her voice lines mentions something along the lines of "I didn't survive three centuries just to die in some desolate demiplane." Half-elves tend to live between 180-250 years, which would be WELL behind the age Aestri is AT MINIMUM. Based on her skin tone and presence of freckles, I think she's most likely a Wood Elf, as they tend more towards that kind of skin tone, though she could be a High Elf, since Greyhawk High Elves tend to be fairly friendly.

As for her build, the 5e Player's Handbook that I have literally right next to me states "They are slightly shorter than humans on average, ranging from well under 5 feet tall to just under 6 feet. They are more slender than humans, weighing only 100 to 145 pounds." Basically, Aestri's on the taller end of Elves, and she probably put all her points into Strength, for some unfathomable reason (she most certainly didn't but anything into Intelligence or Wisdom, that's for sure).

Weave Attunement tells players it's active so I doubt it'll do much of anything. It does give aura reading around chests if survivors swap items in them, but that's about it.

Telling them that it's active and telling them what it does are two different things (though it REALLY shouldn't do that either, same as Dissolution).

  • I unironically think Weave Attunement is going to be a bit underrated. Sure, it's a pretty bad perk that no one will run… and THAT'S why it's great. Since no one will run it, no one will know what it does, and then they'll try to mind game around a dropped toolbox and have absolutely no idea the Killer has wallhacks on them. Otherwise, pairs well with Franklin's, and that's about it.

Languid Touch is probably his best perk, but you really don't need an Exhaustion perk, and if no one has an Exhaustion perk, it's a wasted slot.

Dark Arrogance doesn't feel impactful enough, either positive or negative. I barely felt the 25% extra stun and the vault boost is negligible. Just run Bamboozle. It's only slightly worse, has a better effect and DOESN'T have a downside.

  • Yeah, this was something that bothered me on the PTB. Elves in D&D are typically between Humans and Dwarves in terms of height, and Aestri seems to be, based on her skin tone and freckles, most likely a Wood Elf, which puts her in the middle of the Elf height pack. I personally believe that, if they were going to keep both of them the same height for cosmetic purposes, they should have switched Aestri and Baermar, with Baermar being smaller than other male Survivors. He's a Bard, not a Fighter, he doesn't need that musculature (though I also like the idea that Aestri put all her points into Charisma and Strength instead of Dexterity).

In general, the Troupe probably needed a unique skeleton to accommodate both of them, and Aestri just looks kind of awkward right now, so I probably won't use her (plus, Baermar's seems to be voiced by Robbie Daymond, which automatically throws him towards the top of my "I want to main you" list).

  • I want you to imagine this scenario from late 2018 (I think, it might have been early 2019, I just know Plague wasn't even announced yet).

You're running around Badham fixing the generators like a good Survivor. You know full well who the Killer is by this point, since EVRYONE else has run into them, but you have yet to see even an inch of them. Five gen completions later, you run to an Exit Gate and begin opening it, but then you have this sudden feeling you need to run. You don't have Spine Chill or Premonition, just a feeling. So you run, then you start walking to lose your Scratch Marks, hoping to throw the Killer off your track. After a bit of walking, you think the coast is clear and look behind you…

And Pig is crouched there, following you about three feet away.

Unfortunately, I don't HAVE to imagine this scenario. Sure, Scratched Mirror Myers gets some screams, and I have a very dumb story involving Hag, but this event has cemented PIG of all Killers as the scariest thing in DBD. It's pretty rare I throw my mouse around when something spooks me, but this was certainly one of those times.

Hey hey! Not on gabe. His lore is literally unique from the rest of the cast. References so many sci fi elements from other video games, even a really good book called a brave new world. Besides, both end transmission character share a similar circumstance they had to deal with in their lore and it does show their development in how they deal with it up to the point at being taken.

I could go into a whole separate discussion about why I find Gabriel so disappointing (and believe me, I don't think anyone is more disappointed in me saying this than myself since science fiction is probably my second favorite genre, right behind fantasy), but in short, it boils down to:

    • His base backstory doing very little to build him up (which isn't entirely on him, since they needed to establish his time period). It establishes that he's a clone, but proceeds to do NOTHING with that.
    • His archive had so much potential to be a great story as he realizes that his memories just don't line up with what reality tells him and starts questioning his existence. There was real potential for a deep dive into what really makes us human. Does Gabriel being a clone with fabricated memories make him any less human? I don't think so, but what perspective does he take? We'll never know, because once he obtains his medical records and starts piecing things together, instead of RESOLVING THE CONFLICT, they decide to give us a flashback to one of his fake memories with his "mother"… AND THEN THE ARCHIVE ENDS!!! Instead of finishing the story and showing us how he ultimately processes everything, they waste space with visual memories that add NOTHING to the story and leave the main conflict of it unresolved.

Maybe I was a little harsh in saying he's worse than the Lyras, but I'm also of the opinion that characters with WASTED potential are worse than characters with NO potential at all. The blueprint for a great character was there, but they decided to completely screw it up instead. THAT is why I dislike him.

  • Look, I love Renato. I called him my spirit animal just from seeing his lobby animations, before I even read his backstory and found him so incredibly relatable that it was honestly kind of scary. It's why I switched my profile picture to him from Oni (who had been my portrait for years due to a running joke with my high school Chemistry teacher) and why he's in serious contention for being my main once I (eventually) get around to P6'ing all Survivors.

But once I put all of my biases aside, the Lyra siblings are just… incredibly shallow characters. Thalita's characterization in the archive just kind of annoys me, Renato only gets a little development, and the archive in general is quite possibly the worst in the entire catalogue (not to mention how it mispronounces Renato's name EVEN THOUGH THALITA LITERALLY SAYS IT IN TWO VOICELINES! HOW DO YOU SCREW THAT UP?). They're better written than characters like Sable (probably the most shallow character in the roster) and Gabriel (just pure wasted potential), but as a whole they just don't do anything. I genuinely don't have much to say about them because of how empty they are.

Their perks are also… kind of garbage. I'd argue Cut Loose is a tad underrated, but it's still low-B AT BEST. Friendly Competition is just Prove Thyself: Horrible Edition, the Teamwork perks are in contention for the worst perks in the game, Blood Rush is the ONLY perk in the game that has NO EFFECT WITHOUT ANOTHER PERK (seeing as it can only be used while Exhausted and is completely pointless to use with any of the add-ons that cause it), and Background Player is fun to use but painful to go against (pre-rework, I haven't seen how it is on the D&D PTB).

Overall, while I will always consider Renato one of my favorites, objectively speaking they just aren't that great.

  • As HerInfernalMajesty says, it does exist in the store, right here:

    image.png

Hitting that diamond brings you this menu (I used Xeno here since I KNOW their power gets cut off by the new UI).

    image.png

Removing the character cards was a very stupid decision, but the information does still exist.

  • The only thing I miss from old DBD's aesthetics would be nighttime Coldwind, and that's only because current Coldwind (and Eyrie) are miniature flashbangs when loading in that my hypersensitive eyes need a while to adjust to. On the flip side, Dredge's nightfall has the opposite issue where it's so dark that it causes physical pain in my eyes (which, aside from not cringing at the graphics, is the main reason I don't miss the game's old lighting. Looking at the screenshots I have and trying to make anything out hurts and I have no idea how I managed to even play in the first place). And don't even get me started on Lights Out; I stopped playing it at 9 and had needles piercing my eyes until I went to bed at 2.

Jonah's backstory is FAR from the worst. It's no masterpiece, but there are way worse examples. But because a popular lore content creator couldn't do the bare minimum TEN SECONDS or so it takes to do BASIC RESEARCH, everyone thinks he's a war criminal and has condemned him. He's not. Accidents aren't war crimes, and he was doing his job in a fight against terrorism, trying to decode where the enemy was. Not only was he 1. Not alone, since it mentions a task force (which is usually between 4 and 12 people) 2. Unaware that the codes were decoys until it was too late, and 3. NOT EVEN THE ONE WHO ORDERED THE STRIKE, he ACTIVELY TRIED TO MAKE AMENDS FOR HIS MISTAKE BY DISCRETELY SIPHONING MONEY FROM THE TERRORISTS TO THE SURVIVORS OF THE STRIKE!!! And the worst part about this is how the content creator's complete disregard for this has led to the spread of GENUINELY DANGEROUS MISINFORMATION that trivializes the atrocities committed by ACTUAL WAR CRIMINALS. Actually, no. The actual worst part is that, just a few chapters later, we got a Survivor who actually fits the definition of a war criminal so much more than Jonah ever could and remains immensely popular. You may have heard of her: her name is Ada Wong.

Old Freddy, while being a lot more fun than the snoozefest he is now, was neither healthy for the game nor a faithful adaptation of his power. First off, Freddy has never once, in ANY of the movies, dragged people into the Dream World. It's ALWAYS the other way around (unless there's something weird going on in the comics). Then once he had people in the Dream World, his only power was… seeing their auras (and slowing their progress, which makes no sense, seeing as people in the movies don't even realize they're even IN the Dream World half the time). Oh, and he was invisible to awake Survivors, with no real way of telling where he was, while simultaneously being unable to do ANYTHING until people were asleep, which was NOT good game design on either side. Current Freddy is the most boring Killer to play, but he's a lot more faithful: Survivors can see him in microsleep, represented by the timers and his intermittent appearances, and he can interact with them (something he does very plainly in the remake he is taken from); He can actually manipulate the Dream World by placing his snares and pallets; He can actually teleport, giving him a sort of omnipresence within the Dream World. It's not great, and he could use more focus on being a DREAM DEMON with more Dream related powers, but it's better than being a Killer whose only power is being able to play the game as a powerless M1 Killer. I know the Freddy fanatics are going to come after me for this, since they don't like anyone DARING to dislike their precious little toy (that half of them never even played with), but you asked for controversial opinions.

  • "but I'll only make a post if I'm actually, legitimately stuck (it happened before with Hag, though I still maintain I was pretty close with her) or if Oni actually gets his own archive rather than sneaking his way into basically everything else so we can finally get closure on his placement."

Behold, a year and three months later, Oni has finally gotten his archive, and I really couldn't have been further off with the information I had to go on.

    But it is finally over.

  • Aha! So you're to one who gave me a reason to actually WANT to log back on for the first time in a year! How DARE you do this to me!

Welcome aboard. Hopefully you can survive the rowdiness of this place a bit better than I did.

Also, thanks for the Renato profile. He's literally been my spirit animal since I first saw him in game.

The Otto Stamper from Dredge's story and the Otto from Doctor's story are not from the same universe, i even made an entire thread explaining why.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/382525/otto-stamper-from-dredges-lore-is-not-the-same-otto-stamper-from-doctors-lore

I did actually see that when you first posted it, since my attempts to stay away from this hell have failed spectacularly, and agree one hundred percent, I just had no reason to log back in since I completed Skull Merchant's archive until now (and thus saw this post three weeks late). I still don't think it changes Dredge's placement much, but it does widen it.

    @the_voices said:

One massive problem with your placement of The Blight is the flavor text for alchemist's ring, which is a note from the school he attended reprimanding him dated 1838, meaning Talbot must have still been a student during at least part of this year. This must mean he could not have done his experiments on dyer island during the first opium war but he must have during the second (the monocle addon and remark on his "later years" show this to likely be the case). The mention of the king in his tome story is a massive oversight by Bhvr, as Talbot would likely not be employed by the British East India company at a point in time when Britain had a king.

Shows how little I play Blight and how screwed up BHVR's history lessons are if I missed something THAT simple. Thank you.

  • Alright, I guess this is it. I was going to say this when I added Blight's archive, but I figured it would be more fitting to do for an actual chapter. This is going to be the last time I make an update post, at least for a while (not the last time I'll update, but no more posts about it).

For those that care, the reasons amount to:

    1) I've been out of ways to say "I updated with [insert Killer name here]" for a while now (At LEAST since Nemesis, looking at how little effort I actually put into that post, probably before that).

    2) For a while, I've been having this feeling that the constant update posts roughly every month and a half is annoying. I mean, if this isn't annoying

    Annoying.JPG

I officially don't know what is. This has been a passion project since I was a junior in high school (for reference, I'm now a junior in college), and the last thing I want it to be is annoying.

    3) Finally, I've just not been very happy with the direction the forums have been going in lately, ESPECIALLY the past few months, probably even longer than that. Sometimes I'll see a unique and interesting post, but it's usually the same 200 posts about whatever the flavor of the month is (right now, it's hating Nurse, before that it was Solo Que is dead, before that it was either hating on people hating on David or complementing David, but basically no actually hating David other than, ironically, IN the former, etc.). It gets tiring and it's almost universally negative. This is honestly the biggest reason I'm taking a step away from the forums: my own mental health. This amount of negativity tends to take its toll on someone.

I'll still update the timeline when I finish archives and new Killers come out, but I'll only make a post if I'm actually, legitimately stuck (it happened before with Hag, though I still maintain I was pretty close with her) or if Oni actually gets his own archive rather than sneaking his way into basically everything else so we can finally get closure on his placement. But beyond that, Wesker's addition marks what is likely my final real post on the forums.

TL:DR - The timeline will still get updated, I just won't say anything about it. Oh, and Wesker has been added.

  • Survivor: Object of Obsession. It screws me over more than not, but it's so much fun to use that I don't mind.

Killer: Shadowborn. Especially on shorter Killers or Wraith with Windstorm add-ons, the POV feels so fast that I don't even care about the result.

  • She's fine, just a little disappointing that she's not the archives Haddie (although this kind of leaves room for the archives Jordan to be playable, since he's the one who vanished in their story).

  • The Dredge had a surprisingly easy timespan to figure out for a horrifying manifestation of negativity. Also, some very slight updates to Doctor's wording now that Otto Stamper is a bit of a bigger deal.

  • Technically, I've only seen one Jeryl (which was one of my friends) and about two or three Jonathans, but I don't typically count Legendaries as separate characters, even if they technically are.

Beyond that, I've been keeping track of who I encounter for a few months now, and in that time I've only seen 7 Jeffs, with second place going to a tie between Tapp and Jonah at 14 sightings.

  • @Smoe said:

Because tome Haddie and Survivor Haddie are not the same person, even the Observer commented on this stating that there are multiple versions of the Haddie and Jordan stories, with some of the version being inspired by other versions of Haddie and Jordan aswell as their podcasts being called Harbinger of Hell in one version and in another calling it ravages of the abyss, along with some other difference such as how the fate of Haddie's parents differs from each versions

Personally i really like both and i think they did a great job on the lore.

Yeah, that didn't really occur to me until the wiki mentioned that. I think part of that comes from how I (and a lot of the community) really don't like the whole multiverse concept they have (or at least how it's currently presented), so it doesn't usually cross my mind. With the multiverse in mind, it makes a bit more sense, I would have just preferred seeing the Archive's Haddie over this imposter.

    @Warcrafter4 said:

I kinda feel like its out of place in DbD lore for Otto to get off without being consumed.

The entity and other beings like it have always been shown as Chaotic Evil and all consuming so its rather out of place for Otto to be let go.

I mean look at what happened with the plague. Near identical set up but still consumed with a "Good" outcome for her but consumed all the same.

Plus if its something else that isn't chaotic it doesn't explain why the Dredge would work for the inherently chaotic Entity(Order vs Chaos).

It goes even further with the Entity also consuming emotions and using trails to force emotions(Primarily Hope a positive one) out which is the opposite of how the Dredge is implied to work by devouring suppressed emotions/Murderous thoughts.

I am just really confused my the Dredge.

Actually, this is them being consistent for once. Otto still needs to alive for him to be killed by Doctor. And for the Dredge, what better to hunt down and feed on hope than the literal embodiment of negativity once held back by that very hope.

  • I don't find her particularly meh, I just don't love her either. So I guess this is the closest.

  • The Twins finally have a more stable placement in the late 1600's (not early like I originally had them). All because of a hat.

  • Welp, I misclicked.

Granted, the split is roughly 55-45, if not closer, but it still favors Killer.

  • The Yamaoka's aren't the only ones. Yui Kimura, Yoichi Asakawa, Sadako Yamamura, Yun-Jin Lee, and Ji-Woon Hak are all in reversed order from traditional Japanese and Korean names.

The only Asian character (well, other than Jake since he is from America and logically follows that convention) to do things correctly is Feng Min, since the Chinese don't switch their names around when going to other countries (instead, they just use a different name, literally one of my best friends is an example of this).

There's no real reason to change things, just localization. Unless you want to end up with the issue Feng Min has where everyone misuses her name (except for her Adept achievement, interestingly enough).

  • The only streamer I actually watch is Otz because his videos are actually pretty informative.

Otherwise, I've only really seen clips, and about 80% of those clips are just barely watchable (mostly on the Survivor side, most Killer clips actually seem pretty chill).

it's no wonder the community is as bad as it is when so many of the popular Survivor streamers upload footage of making Killers as miserable as possible (usually with some condescending "Aww, I'm so shocked he missed" commentary).

  • It's honestly a close call for me. Both Candyman and FNAF are among my top five, and while my preference typically lands with Candyman, they're basically even.

  • Nemesis: Not one of my mains, but I still find myself playing him pretty regularly. I also enjoy facing him most of the time.

Cenobite: He literally became one of my mains, though he can be annoying to face in solo que at times, the fact that he has a secondary objective that needs frequent monitoring is also pretty nice. Shame about the license holders being into NFTs and all that, but, to me at least, it has no impact on my view of Ceno.

Artist: As a whole, I honestly feel the Portrait of a Murder chapter was a flop. Artist is powerful, and I want to like her because ravens (cousins to the crows she uses) are my favorite birds... but I just couldn't get into playing her. Cross-map snipes are fun when you can pull them off, but otherwise, just meh.

Onryo: I haven't played AS her much yet, but what I have done I enjoy. Against her is a different story, since she has the same issue that Spirit used to (and to a smaller extent still does) have on my anxiety.

  • Alien is literally my most wanted chapter. Unfortunately, I don't expect it due to Disney being Disney, but I can hope.

    Of the others here:

    • Jason just doesn't really interest me. I get that he's iconic and I do hope he gets in eventually due to that, but I just don't have an opinion on him other than general meh.
    • FNAF (specifically Springtrap, anyone else is a waste) is either #4 or #5, depending on how I feel about Candyman on any given day.
    • Chucky would certainly be interesting, but I am still unsure of how he would fit.
    • In order to work in this game, Pennywise would need to be nerfed into unrecognizability.
    • Jack Torrence interests me even less than Jason.
    • While I have no experience with Bioshock, the Big Daddy does look pretty cool.
    • Again, I have little experience with Death Note, and what I do know makes me question how Light could possibly work as a Killer, but I am definitely in the camp that thinks anime would work just fine in DBD.
  • I don't think I have ever been so confused with licensed character timeline placement (even the Demogorgon was in a consistent three-year span), but I did my best with the inconsistencies between Sadako and Yoichi.

  • On the first day, my friends, myself and a random we kind of kidnapped were playing against her. I can't remember the last time I heard that much screaming in this game, so she's clearly doing something right.

Plus, that jumpscare came out of nowhere while I was copying down her backstory. I mean, I know the tell now (lifting her head), so it doesn't usually surprise me anymore, but I can only imagine how it will go for those who don't know that she does it.

    1. If the amount of jumpscares my friends and I have gotten because we had no idea where she was is any indication, she is pretty much silent.
    2. There is an audio cue when she is manifesting or demanifesting, but it seems pretty faint, and it sounds very similar to her teleport.
    3. If you're near her or the TV, you can hear her teleport, but I don't think it's mapwide.
  • Unlikely. Doctor's research was completely redacted and I highly doubt anyone who was working at that time would still be with the CIA (either dead or retired).

At most, Jonah would probably find that MKAwakening existed and something horrible happened that caused it to be erased, but wouldn't be able to go any deeper than that.

    @JonahsTablet said:

    Did somebody say Jonah?

But in all seriousness, they could have a connection outside of the entities realm, children do typically follow in their parents footsteps when it comes to employment, which means that Jonah's parents could have possibly known or even worked with Herman.

Also very unlikely. Jonah's family was living in poverty and his father barely got Jonah through childhood by working at (and later owning) a mangrove.

That said, I do think they are connected, given the clear corruption in the CIA that got Doctor into MKAwakening and the code that led Jonah to Chile. It's highly probable that both cases were the work of the Black Vale.

  • Between college being a thing and life just being life, Pig's archive has finally been completed after not having time to work on it all week.

  • Annoying? Absolutely. Poorly designed? Absolutely. Abusable? Again, absolutely. Overpowered? Not at all.

  • I will also join in saying shards. Makes more sense from a business perspective rather than giving out what is effectively real money.
