  • More times than anyone reasonably should. Even made a chapter based on one of them.

  • In my second or third match as Nemesis, they were absolute killing machines, infecting and injuring people left and right (I think they even got a down).

In that same match, they had a staring contest with each other at a window. There is no in-between. Either they're very strong or completely useless.

As a Survivor, they're mostly just annoying. Had a few times where they cornered me and Nemesis took me down, but other than that, they're just annoying.

  • It can be useful if you have nothing else, but the requirement makes it too situational to be anything for than okay, especially when you consider it came in the SAME CHAPTER as Inner Strength, arguably the best healing perk in the game.

  • In all fairness, Meg, who has been brunette/ginger for YEARS, is still BLOND in her portrait.

Basically, they're probably never going to change them, even though half the Survivors and a few Killers are outdated now.

  • Killers

    1. Doctor - I much prefer psychological horror over the standard gore, plus his laughs.
    2. Legion - Very simple gameplay.
    3. Blight - Same as Legion.
    4. Hag - I used to despise her, but she got some buffs shortly after I started and when I figured out how to properly play her, I fell in love with her playstyle.
    5. Oni - Honestly, started as an inside joke between me and my chemistry teacher (whose name was literally Oney, pronounced the same), but he's actually just really fun.

    Survivors

    1. Adam - The fact that he's just a generally good person, his trench coat, the stealth potential, and the fact that he gives me an excuse to do an REALLY bad Jamaican accent (that ends up sounding more Scottish/Australian).
    2. Min - The Survivor I connect with the most, as a lone wolf gamer, although her rework kind of put her down some.
    3. Cheryl - Not familiar with Silent Hill, but I like her design and her voice is really cute.
    4. Ash - It's Ash. Need I say more
    5. Yui - She's just cool. I really have nothing else to say.
  • The memory wipe thing is stupid and contradicts pretty much EVERYTHING about the Entity's realm. I wouldn't remove it per say, because if done right, it COULD work, but as it is now, it fails everything.

Legion's archive is the other I would redo. It is such a contradictory mess that pretty much makes the entire Darkness Among Us chapter pointless. Even the memory wipe thing wasn't as bad as THIS.

But beyond that, I really don't have too many problems with the other archives (including Nurse's. I have really TRIED to see this character assassination that people keep talking about, and the ONLY change I see is someone else being there to take advantage of her insanity. I honestly have more problems with Plague, the ONE killer who NEVER had a desire to kill anyone, absolutely slaughtering her adoptive father, but my issues with that comes more from how it's heralded as this masterpiece of an archive despite contradicting her established character while Nurse was barely changed and is constantly hammered on). I would probably rewrite The Hunger, because right now it reads HORRIBLY, but for a first foray, it could have been way worse.

  • I play because I genuinely have fun most of the time. The story and characters may have been my initial draw to the game, but I stayed because I have fun.

  • The real answer to this comes with a question of its own. Can people on consoles perform this as well? If the answer to that is EVER no, then it is cheating. Stretched res is not available to consoles, so it is cheating, but Discord is not, as EVERYONE can use it (evidence being my friends are all console while I'm on PC, but we communicate JUST FINE through Discord).

Color filters also constitute as cheating, as consoles cannot do them (this also applied to color-blind filters before they got added. It was unfortunate, but not everyone could do it, so it was cheating).

  • Ghost Face and Hellraiser are not Paragraphs due to the timing of their releases falling in line with the normal release schedule. That is both the short and true answer. Is it disappointing? Yes, but disregarding the truth just because it doesn't fit your narrative doesn't change the facts.

As long as they don't do what they did with Ghost Face and release Pinhead as a full-priced chapter, I'm not going to complain (and yes, Ghost Face was almost 8 dollars at first, I have no idea when they changed it, but I very clearly remember paying that much for him).

  • Considering they're one of my mains and I do fairly well with them even in high ranks (without much effort, mind you), Legion. I know full well they're far from top tier, but to call them the worst shows a lack of even trying. They are a solidly mid-tier Killer if played right. They just need some add-on adjustments and they'd be golden.

Other than Legion, Myers comes to mind. He's outdated and it shows, but he still has one of the best snowball potentials in the game.

  • In Deathslinger's lore, he sees the kids who bullied him for being Irish, the executives who took advantage of him for being Irish and Henry Bayshore, the man who sold his patents to others. In reality, what he's likely seeing are the Survivors we've come to know, but he's being manipulated into killing innocent lives (something he doesn't seem like he would ever do) by seeing the people who tortured him all his life.

Spirit shares the same glowing eyes Deathslinger has, as does Wraith (and Hillbilly, but he's a weird exception to the rule), so these Killers probably see the people they hate the most. In Spirit's case, her father (and possibly the boys who bullied her for being a girl learning kendo, just look at the taunting she does in her mori).

  • I went to Tiermaker and picked a Tier set that I liked. I assume the others did the same thing.

  • image.png

Here is my list of fun (really the only kind of list that matters).

  • People seem to keep forgetting that the Entity made a deal with Pyramid Head. We don't know the specifics of that deal, but we can presume that Pyramid Head gets to do as he pleases provided he follows a certain ruleset (which we see in how he cannot execute non-tormented Survivors without a Mori).

On the other hand, Pinhead was not planned. He just kind of showed up when someone found the Lament Configuration. But he still cannot drag Survivors down without the Entity's permission, showing that he is more than willing to work for it, presumably after seeing the hooks.

The Entity may be a little in over its head, but it's still in control.

No where on the Ghost Face DLC store page is 'Chapter' mentioned (at least on Steam). It wasn't advertised as a Chapter like the one preceding it (Demise of the Faithful) or the one succeeding it (Stranger Things).

This applies to the other three Paragraphs as well.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0XHWHGNA4K7M/image.png

If the developers consider Ghost Face to be a chapter, that's certainly not indicated in their marketing.

Demise of the Faithful is Chapter 11. Stranger Things was Chapter 13. Ash vs. the Evil Dead was released at an odd time, like paragraphs usually were (Left Behind shortly before Spark of Madness and Leatherface shortly before Nightmare on Elm Street).

Unlike the other three paragraphs, Ghost Face is a pseudo-licensed character and was released for the 3rd year anniversary, falling perfectly in line with when Chapter 12 should release. A Chapter that is mysteriously missing.

Plus, there is the fact that it used to cost the same as a full Chapter.

Might as well add this, since its 99.9% likely to be Pinhead

The teaser insinuates that the version they’re using is the first one from 1987. Not exactly the hardest to figure out

Although I'll wait for his official release before putting him in, everything definitely seems to line up for the first movie, along with bits of the second movie (the Original Pain being the first pin to pierce Pinhead's skull).

And I guess, while we're on the topic of licensed Killers, I will be keeping Demogorgon in the timeline, as he is still a permanent piece of the game, even if unavailable, though I am thinking about removing my rant about it.

  • Updated with Finger of Chaos, as well as a small touchup to Clown's final placement.

  • PC here, Badham, Pale Rose and Léry's failed to load (possibly others that I wasn't paying attention to).

Possibly related, end screen doesn't display result (Escaped, Sacrificed, Brutal Killer, etc.).

They "look" different cause of there poses, that about it tho right?

To save them a bit of time...

    image.png

These are the Legion members unmasked. As you can see, they look very different from each other (well, maybe not Frank and Julie too much).

  • It USED to be between Adam and Min. A combination of their appearances and their stories (Adam being just a genuinely good person and Min being easily relatable as a lone wolf gamer) made it hard for me to pick.

Now Adam stands alone at the gold (although Min still looks decent when not using her default hair, I don't think cosmetics should be taken into account in terms of rating appearance, because Claudette would be dead last if I did). Second would probably go to either Ash, Cheryl or Leon.

  • If you have no other choice, it's pretty good. But for me, its main use is the ability to preserve that little bit of a Med-kit's charges. Speaking from experience, that extra little bit of a Med-kit can turn a three-man escape with one Survivor bleeding out into a four-man escape.

The main problem with it is people misusing it, and frequently killing their team in the process. Especially when Sloppy Butcher is involved. NEVER self-care with Sloppy without a good Med-kit.

  • As Survivor: Map awareness. Show me a dead end, I'll run straight into it, usually with the Killer two feet behind me.

As Killer: Tracking Survivors by sound. I just generally can't do it unless they're right on top of me already.

  • Coolest: All-Kill. Say what you want about Trickster, this trailer is amazing. Honorable mention to Cursed Legacy though.

Scariest: Shattered Bloodline. Seeing Spirit appear behind Adam is actually terrifying.

Worst: Darkness Among Us. I love Legion and have mained them since their release, but that trailer is misleading as hell. Plus, Jeff, the Survivor introduced with them, was replaced with David instead.

  • Basekit Trapper doesn't have a power for 80% of the match. His power is practically nullified on indoor maps or maps with poor grass placement (which is a lot of maps recently). With the right add-ons, he can be pretty strong, but needing to take up a slot just to have any power at all is not a good design.

  • I like Adam because he looks like Adam while still being an improvement (and I thought he was perfect before).

Beyond that, I guess Jake is fine, other than not looking like Jake, and none of the others impressed me (ESPECIALLY Min and Dwight).

  • The All-Seeing add-on effects should be switched. It's kind of ridiculous how much better Blood is than Spirit while being way more common.

Silent Bell is worthy of being red (unlike 90% of ultra rares), and it's manageable to go against if you pay attention to his breathing.

  • As someone who's had Legion as a secondary main since their release, the feeling of running around and stabbing in quick succession is a large part of the draw for me. It's such a simple power, but it feels really satisfying for me. This same reason is what ultimately placed Blight in my mains as well.

    Sometimes simple is best.

  • It looks amazing, but that wall and window combination is actually disgusting. When I get it with Killer, it's the first thing that's going. Both walls are the worst I've seen in the game.

  • I ran Counterforce every match leading up to Adept Jill. Got actual use out of it maybe once or twice, and even then, it was very minor use. If you can't find that initial totem to begin with, it's useless, combined with the time you waste going to the other end of the map actively hindering the team.

Detective's Hunch is one of those perks that, if I don't have what I want for a character, is usually considered because of how useful it is, not just in finding totems, but EVERYTHING else as well.

  • I've been playing since 2018, and, while I have taken breaks here and there, I'm still playing today. If anything, optimization issues aside, I'm enjoying the game MORE than I have in the past.

While I don't exactly hold BHVR and their management of DBD in a very high standard, I'll be playing until I finally decide I'm done with the game. Which doesn't seem likely to happen for a LONG time.

  • Low tier, but not nearly as bad as people make him out to be.

  • I've got mixed feelings about the update. I'll get the positives out of the way first.

First off, it's Resident Evil, one of the biggest names in horror. That alone is cool, even as someone who isn't that familiar with the series. The characters look amazing, the map looks gorgeous when it's enabled and the perks for both sides are pretty fun.

On the other hand... Nemesis is an absolute mess. As a Survivor, I've been slapped directly in the face by a tentacle and nothing happened on one occasion, and I've been 5 feet away from it and got knocked to the ground on more occasions. As Killer, I struggle to get any tentacle hits period. Even with Trickster, by the time I was level 10, I had gotten TWO 4ks under my belt PRE-BUFF. With Nemesis, I've gotten a total of two kills, in separate games, both in the endgame. This may just be me not being good at very precise Killers (because I'm not), but still. I've done better with the widely considered weakest killer ever made before he got buffed. The zombies are so inconsistent. I've had ONE match where they actually did some damage (on a farm map, surprisingly), but they get stuck on bushes more than not. As a Survivor, they're annoying, but nothing more. And the map is a nightmare to navigate.

I know this looks more negative than positive, but I feel the positive even out the negatives. My opinion IS more negative than positive, but not enough to really vote negative.

  • Plague. It's just a game of damned if you do, damned if you don't. And I can't say I'm a fan of that.

Spirit is a close second, but largely because she drives my anxiety up rather than her "mindgames".

  • Using a vaccine gives you an extra state where his tentacle and zombies can't hurt you, at the cost of revealing your location to him. I'd say the benefits outweigh the negatives in this case.

  • I have added Nemesis to the timeline now that he is out. I really have nothing else to say about this.

  • I do. The lore is part of the reason I play this game.

The early archives are poorly written, but I feel it has improved over time, as has the narrator. They're not for everyone though, which is fine, and you'll sometimes have missteps like Legion's archive, but they're usually decent for the most part. Not good per say, but decent.

Having said that, the Observer storyline feels like unneeded filler, so I generally look at it, then forget about it until the next challenge.

  • It's an improvement, which isn't exactly a high bar to clear, and the animated version looks pretty decent. Not my favorite, but it is an improvement, and that's something.

  • Favorite: Adam, no competition. Jake IS an upgrade, but my problem with it is it doesn't look like Jake. It's better, but it's not Jake.

Least favorite: Could go to many of them, but Min takes the cake, with Dwight close behind. Or flip that, it really doesn't matter.

  • I think she's showing a bit too much teeth, but that's something even her old model does. Her skin is also a bit too pale, but otherwise, it's not bad.

  • Adam is my favorite Survivor. So I want to be critical about changes to him. After they butchered my second favorite, Min, I was worried about other characters.

But this... I literally can't find anything wrong with this. Everything I could comment on as bad is just... not there. Unlike some of the reworks, it still looks like Adam. With most of the reworks, they've removed so much of the dirt on their clothes, and it looks too clean. They actually added dirt on Adam.

I don't know how to respond to this. This is the best rework by far.

  • Until Trapper can carry more than one trap at basekit, I can't place anyone below him.

  • Of this batch, I'd say this is the best one. Nea looks depressed, Min went from an Asian girl to a white dude (that's honestly what it looks like to me), and David's face doesn't look as beat up as it should and his head is too long.

The only real complaint I have for Ace's rework is his goatee being too bright and not being complete. Oh, and his smile was removed... I think that's the biggest problem with any of these. The characters as they are now have vibrant personalities in the way their faces are. Now, these are being removed for a bland, uninteresting appearance.

The best of the batch, but that's not saying much of anything.

  • Physically, Dwight is probably the closest to looking like me, but I also share a few similarities with Jeff.

Character-wise... yeah, it's still Dwight. We're both complete loser nerds who somehow end up as the leader of the group. There's also a mix of Min being a lone wolf gamer in there (yeah, a lone wolf leader, don't ask how that works, I've been trying to figure that out myself).

  • His head is too long and face too perfect, but I don't have many complaints otherwise. It's not the best, but it's not as offensively bad as the change they did to Min.

Honestly, the only characters that need a rework are the originals, Nea, Laurie and Quentin. Everyone else follows the saying of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Really? So they changed it to merciless? Interesting. Did they say why?

It was always merciless. They just changed what merciless means around Plague's release, and no one really understands why.

  • Appearance wise, I can't say I'm a fan of her dress and I hate her silvery hair, but beyond that, she's pretty good. I feel her voice is a tad over-the-top, but given the chapter she's from, with the most over-the-top killer in the game, I think it's fine. And her backstory might just be one of my favorites. Maybe it drags on a little too much in places, but it tells us exactly who Yun-Jin Lee is. And she's also unique in comparison to the other Survivors with how straight up selfish she is.

    I'd give her a 7 out of 10.

  • It doesn't say much of anything in their bios, but they came out before the movie retconned their sibling relationship. So I think it's safe to assume they're siblings in DBD.

  • Completed Adiris's archive, not that it affects her placement any. Unless they add in a caveman of some sort, she will always be the oldest Killer.

  • Eruption has the potential to be good, but it relies on too many variables to really consider viable. If you can get it to work, it's decent, but again, to reliant on other variables.

Hysteria is useless. Too much setup for too little benefit, and this is coming from someone who mains Legion, who it's probably best on.

Lethal Pursuer is a perk that I thought was bad at first, but it's honestly Nemesis's best perk. I prefer Whispers by a country mile, but for high speed Killers like Hillbilly, it's got some use.

  • Spirit - Agreed, Onryo are ridiculously powerful.

Nurse - Agreed, she's definitely shown incredible potential with her power.

Freddy - Considering this is reboot Freddy, whose shown a fraction of classic Freddy's potential, agreed.

Nemesis - Not too familiar with Resident Evil, but my current understanding of Nemesis would put him in Undefeatable without special equipment. So, disagreed.

Michael - Hard disagree. I know, "Evil Incarnate" and so on, but he's just a dude with a mask. Granted, he's definitely superhuman and has survived crazy stuff, but he doesn't compare to the others up here. He's Mid-Low tier at best.

Oni - Like you said, he should be higher up. The only reason the peasants beat him was sheer numbers. Disagree

Demogorgon - Disagree. I'd put it in Mid Tier. Creature got beat up by Steve with a baseball bat.

Pyramid Head - His placement honestly depends on what you buy for him. I'll agree, but it's finicky.

Huntress - She's taken on entire armies on her own. Disagree, move to Top.

Doctor - As much as he's my favorite, agree.

Hag - I'm inclined to agree, provided her charms don't give her anything else.

    Deathslinger - Agree, he's got a gun.

Trapper, Leatherface, Hillbilly and Wraith - Agree, not much to them.

Twins - Disagree, Victor is small and unpredictable. I'd move to Mid.

Blight - Talbot has canonically taken down BOTH Spirit and Nurse WITHOUT using the serum. The guy is a monster. Undefeatable Tier, or even his own tier.

Ghost Face, Pig, Trickster and Clown - Agreed, less to them that the Low tiers.

Legion - Disagree, never underestimate numbers. If alone, then agree.

Plague - We all know what sicknesses can do. Disagree, move to Mid Tier.
